Stayed at this hotel for one evening, check in was easy, to get to the hotel for the first time walk through the restaurant on the ground floor and then up to the first floor for check in. All staff in the restaurant will happily direct. Once checked in the room key enables the lift which will take you to your floor, there are also stairs. The room was clean, fresh and well laid out with its own immaculate shower and WC, including towels soaps and a hair dryer. In the main area we had a TV mounted on the wall, soft lighting with two single beds pushed together to make a double. There were two windows looking out on to the centrum. There is night club very near, Saturday night you can hear the music until the early hours, a church is very close too, with bells that strike the hours and half hours, neither of these things bothered us and added to the experience. The room was comfortable with a dressing table and large mirror and a small room safe. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. The Hotel is in the main town square and easy to find, there is a public secure car park 2mins walk from the hotel, again easy to find and use. It cost us 15 euros from 3.00pm Saturday to 10am Sunday. We had a pleasant stay, thank you.

This Tulip Inn hotel is very conveniently located in a popular area of Heerlen with lots of pubs and restaurants. A public parking is just around the corner. The hotel itself is pretty nice, especially the ground level and breakfast area. Breakfast itself does provide plenty of choice to have a good start of the day. The rooms are relatively basic, although our bathroom was nicely decorated. The main issue of this hotel is the lack of airco. We arrived one week after the record temperatures of the summer of 2019. While the outside temperature had dropped with 20°, the room (and especially the bathroom) was still excruciating hot. Luckily, we were able to leave the window open at night to get some cool air but I’m pretty sure I would have left the hotel when we had booked one week earlier.

On the road as usual, back to Heerlen, like every year and the hotel book was this one, I knew it was a guest 4 years ago ... and here are the updates: Location - the hotel has been undergoing a huge renovation process and it was a success story - room I got was great looking - smell of new furniture was still in the air, bet excellent , I had great sleep. Room and bathroom sparkling clean- daily change of towels but they have the "green policy" so you can choose not to have the daily change. Room spacious and most likely very bright due to the big window - pity it was cloudy the whole week. If you feel like gambling they got a casino at the hotel. And don't forget the swimming gear, indoor heated pool is there (I did not had the time during this visit) Restaurant and breakfast area very nice - atmosphere was great - and particularly touched a cord the fact that during breakfast they were playing mainly rock music (U2, Jovi, Foreigner, nothing hard) . Overall the room and the hotel had everything I needed. Aircon' and heating wasn't ideal for me ... but that was a minor thing. Service- the staff at the main desk very helpful and friendly - overall nothing to complain about. Fast check in and check out process ... excellent. Breakfast - very good selection of warm and cold choices - omelette from real eggs, smoked salmon - very tasty and always available, fruits and cheese selection, freshly backed pastry ... so everything that is needed from my perspective for a great breakfast was there. Overall I had a good few days at this hotel , I recommend you try it.

In July I had to travel to Heerlen again - like for the past 2 years and again hotel was needed for like 4 nights. So here is what I found: - location - well literally out there in the woods (at the outskirts of Heerlen) in a great park. lots of hiking trails here - excellent for biking or running or simply walking through this area. Rooms are located in what seems to be a former castle - not sure if they have rooms in the main building - but in the courtyard in the so called annex buildings all around are rooms. The room I had - very spacious - excellent bed, perfect bathroom with tub and shower booth - dependent on the mood you can choose what you want to use. TV, mini-bar, strong Wi-fi signal in the room, reading/relaxing corner once you climbed the spiral (see in the pics). Overall what can I say more.. great room.(since is a historical building no AC). Staff - they were very helpful - every morning they got me a cab- very good english speaking so no issue on the communication. Check in and check out went really smooth and fast. Breakfast - very good selections - the buffet was loaded with a good variety of meats, cheese, fruit and the classics , scrambled eggs, bacon and beans. They have the restaurant working also - in later rew I let you know about that 1 too. Prices - not cheap but I would say well worth the money spent and I consider it mid-range. Overall great experience - next year I try to back the same hotel when I go back to Heerlen , I do recommend you try it.

Hotel was basic and clean. but for the price we paid thats what we'd expect. Staff were great, especially Melissa who is practically running the place one handedly. We are an elderly couple and did not realise were in the Netherlands to go and see Andre Rieu. Realising it was so far from Maastricht (our mistake) Melissa went above and beyond her cal of duty to help us and got us a place in the sister hotel in Maastricht for the evening of the concert (even though it was full on all websites), she was so helpful and friendly, always a smile no matter how many times we asked for her help. We can't praise her enough. Hotel was in middle of an industrial estate and would be best suited to someone with a car, but as I said hotel was ok for what we paid and breakfast was good too.
