It’s good to book a hotel in the cherry blossom season! It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk from Hirosaki Park. There is no suitable bus to go to the park. It is very convenient to walk in good weather, but we caught up with the rain, wet and cold.FromUS$37.00

Having a Toyoko right at the station is wonderful! In Tokyo, most of the Toyoko's are farther away from the main train stations. But as you get out into rural areas, many of the Toyoko's are right at the station or within minutes walking. Due to our visit to Hirosaki during their annual cherry blossom festival, we were not able to get twin rooms as couples. So our everyone in our group reserved single rooms. We were pleasantly surprised that the rooms we got were actually "double" rooms, if you understand the usual Toyoko room descriptions. There was a double bed, ample space (for a Toyoko) but clearly for only one person. there was only one room slipper and rack, towels for only one, et al. In addition to what other reviewers have written, I would add that in addition to the benefit of being a Toyoko Inn member and getting a room discount, if you choose the Eco Stay, which means there is no daily room cleaning, you get a discount and still get new towels each day. All in all, a great deal! Most highly recommended. There is a comfort in having all Toyoko's pretty much looking the same.FromUS$48.00

The hotel is generally comfortable, 30 minutes walk from the station, there are many convenience stores nearby to buy things, facilities on the first floor and bathing facilities are good choices for business hotels. Especially the breakfast is very rich and delicious! Since we were in Hirosaki for Hirosaki sakura festival all accommodation was already taken or crazy expensive. Luckily we got perhaps the last room available in Ekimae hotel. It was a traditional style smoking room which really wouldn't be my room of choice but since there was none other, we couldn't be picky. It was a nice surprise when we came there and the room was nice, clean and didn't smell at all. I see some other reviewers had an issue with the residue smell in their smoking rooms, but I guess we were lucky (or they draw the short straw). Besides the room, which was more than OK for us to crash the night, the location of the hotel is just perfect. Right next to the train station and 20-30 min walk to Hirosaki park (or you take one of the taxies which are always there in front of the train station). Before you leave to explore Hirosaki on your foot, take a good note of your location. Hotel renamed recently and when we were there Google maps didn't update yet and lead us to the wrong hotel. Luckily a random friendly local lead us a good 20 min to the doors (this is Japan for you, how amazing is that!).FromUS$58.00

Our group of 3 took 2 rooms here during the cherry blossom season just before golden week. The hotel appeared to be newly renovated and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was included in our room tariff and it was a good spread - dishes were replenished promptly and the variety was good enough for me. Service staff was helpful - they helped fill the forms to forward our luggage to our Tokyo hotel after our 5-night stay. Location was great - just a few steps from Hirosaki Station. From the hotel/station, it was always an inexpensive cab ride everywhere that a visitor would want to go - Hirosaki Castle Park, Apple Park, etc. Everything worked well in the newly renovated room - water pressure was good, ventilation was good - just do not draw the curtain fully and enough air from outside will make the room temperature comfortable enough. The hotel had a well stocked souvenir shop and direct access to the 7-11 up to 7pm daily. I have been told by my travel agent that this is the best hotel in Hirosaki at the moment. Having stayed here comfortably for 5 nights, I would not hesitate to check in here again on my next visit.FromUS$52.00

Although the location of this Hotel is about 15 mins walk from the Hirosaki train station, the walk to the main sights, Hirosaki park & Castle, is only 8-10 mins. So, we did not mind walking to/fro the Hotel in good weather (October). However, I strongly suspect that there is a 100 yen Loop bus that goes from the train station to the Hotel (please check while at the train station). Upon check in, we were given our requested higher floor on the 9th floor (hope I remember correctly) and we could see Mount Iwaki from our room!!! Twin beds were big and comfy indeed, not stone hard at all! Room was good size, too. There was enough space even for an extra coffee table and two chairs, imagine, very good size in Japan. What is most outstanding feature of this hotel has to be the breakfasts, think egg station, smoked duck or salmon sashimi, curry rice with seafood (yummy!), porridge with salmon roe, western pastries, fruits, salads, etc etc. Every morning, we would eagerly look forward to a 'feast' here ...Not forgetting, we even got a cup of freshly squeezed apple juice one morning, unforgettable indeed. SO be sure to include breakfasts with your stay here, you would certainly not regret it. Diagonally opposite is a Nakasan Shopping mall, with mid range Outlet shopping on the 4th and 5th floor (sorry, no European brands here). You could get quality clothings at 20-50% discount, really good value! However, no Tax free for items bought at this Outlet. At the basement is the Supermarket and a small food court with only 3 stalls (the Ramen stall on your right while standing facing the stalls is doing a roaring business). All in all, our 3 nights stay in Hotel was truly enjoyable and unforgettable. Will be checking out other Smile Hotels when we travel in other parts of Japan.FromUS$35.00

The Dormy Inn is great - it is a little far from Hirosaki Station, but the hotel can help arrange a shuttle during certain hours. There is also a 100 yen bus run by the city (and a taxi isn't all that expensive, less than 1000 yen). Location is wonderful, a short walk from the pagoda and castle park, also very close to Kajimachi and Kadare Yokocho for nightlife/restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and larger than other Dormy Inns I have stayed at previously. The rooftop onsen is really nice and clean, the rotemburo (outside bath) was perfect while snow was falling all around. Very peaceful. Loved the late night noodles and thought the staff was uniformly excellent, everyone we interacted with was very kind and helpful. I opted not to try the breakfast so can't comment on that, but there is a Starbucks a short walk away (on the way to the castle park) if you just want something quick. Overall we had a great stay - I will certainly return during my next trip to Hirosaki!

It is close to Hirosaki Castle, and it takes less than 10 minutes to walk. The surrounding area is not lively, but there are also some good places to eat, as well as convenience stores. The room is very large, it is close to the area of the domestic hotel, the facilities are very good, it is a very good hotel in Hirosaki, there is a bakery downstairs, the taste is very good, but the regret is that the opening time is 9 o'clock. A little far from the train station, downstairs is the bus stop of the Motomachi circulation line, but the bus is closed earlier.
