We stayed at the Maritim recently and were impressed with everything about it. Upon check in, they sent us to a room that was already occupied but it was no big deal as nobody was there when we walked in. The check in in staff immediately upgraded us to a fantastic suite that was clean and had plenty of bathroom and coffee maker that are always appreciated. The sauna area had two saunas, either his and hers or possibly naked and covered which was also appreciated. The old “it’s a European thing” with nudity really only applies at private spas and gyms nowadays, not at hotels where all the world with different customs stays. Besides that, the location was great and the front desk directed us where to walk around for shopping or eating. Overall, it was a great hotel and would highly recommend it.

Located in the main street of this little town you will find this late 18th century building. Groundfloor is a restaurant with a michelin listing and an owner who is obviously a keen wine enthousiast judging by all the certificates on the walls. We didn't eat there because we weren't in the mood for fine dining. We'd booked late via booking.com and arrived to find the small parking filled by restaurant guest. We did have the option to offload our luggage and park elsewhere. There's paid parking (4 euros per 24 hours) at 5 minutes walking and free parking a bit further away) Welcome at checkin was most warm indeed and the nice lady at reception was very patient with our basic German. Our room, number 13 at the front of the hotel was airy and light thanks to the big windows. There's some noise from the street but that's limited to diners at the terrace of the restaurant across the street. After 2300 it's pretty quiet. The room was obviously very recently refurbished in a style that matches the building. Good shower, new mattresses but a bit on the soft side. There's no air conditioning Breakfast was excellent! Eggs, bacon, excellent cold meats and some salmon, yoghurt jams and superb bread as is normal for Germany. There was wifi which worked well enough. What made this hotel for me was the staff and the small town feel of Konigswinter. I'd gladly stay here again

Consistently great experience and service, outstanding location, would definitely recommend staying at this iconic hotel... but recurring billing issues needs to be adressed! Being overcharged twice (>150e each time) is not acceptable for the standard of the hotel ... format of the check out bill makes it very challenging to spot mistakes, would normally expect to sign blindly but have instead to spend more than 20min trying to figure out what went wrong... not a pleasant check out experience

Nice room with a big window. A good mattress and a table with two chairs - nice. This is perfect if you need to work or want to have some food etc. The bathroom is small but very good water pressure. There is a supermarket just a few minutes to walk and the town center is not far as well. It was super quiet at night so I could sleep very well. The owner is very friendly - check-in and out was a breeze. I arrived Sunday and walked to the Aral gas station. They have a small supermarket that is open. And they have cold beer as well!
