The location is very good, the parking lot is enough. There is a big supermarket nearby, there is also a panda fast food game, and there is a West End American restaurant in a ten minute distance. I can walk to the beach in twenty minutes. The service staff is very polite and has a good attitude. The room is not small, clean and tidy. The twin beds are large and have a small bathtub. All the desk lamps have sockets and usb, which is very convenient. Breakfast pure American style: ice milk, cream soup, fruit, cocoa, coffee, bread and several sauce butter cheese. If it is an old man, it is estimated that it is impossible to eat, and we can barely fill our stomach.

This place is the absolute cutest hotel (though feels more like a B&B), it's tucked away in what feels like your own secluded forest but is still centrally located and within walking distance to the Wharf and downtown. It's definitely an old hotel, everything creaked and doors had to pulled pretty hard to open but I think that adds character. Parking: easy, easily accessible to all rooms Check in: the gentleman who checked us in was very friendly. Took us on a mini personal tour of the property and walked us to our room and explained a few important things (like don't hesitate to pull your patio door hard, it won't break) The room: we stayed in the room right by the water wheel (I don't know the official term). It is pretty loud but we don't mind white noise. Even with the patio door closed the sound was pretty minimal so I think unless you are super sensitive to sound that room could work for anyone. Walls/ceiling are thin - our upstairs neighbor was a walker so that was kind of annoying. The bed....BAD, BAD, BAD!! Worst night sleep EVER! This is why Babbling Brook got 4/5 stars. I know mattresses are so subjective but man the mattress was sooo soft! The hump in the middle of the bed didn't allow me to sleep anywhere near my hubs and my side was so dented in that if I wasn't careful I'd roll out of the bed when changing positions. A terrible night's sleep can so easily ruin a great experience! Ps they offer breakfast (which we didn't know about - and they were serving eggs Benedict made to order which sounded awesome but we didn't have time to wait) so be sure to ask about it and I'm sure it's worth staying for! Overall, cute hotel, great location but beds suck!

The hotel location is a bit far from downtown, but it is close to the natural bridge park by the sea. It is convenient to walk to watch the sunrise in the morning. The hotel offers free parking, a generous breakfast, fruit oats, Waffle, everything. The price is a little expensive. Fortunately, it is a business meeting, the hotel service is good, the hardware facilities are quite complete, the pool, sauna, gym are all available, it is a good choice for business travel.

Due to the temporary change of travel needs to stay, find a few places are full of room, the sky is already black, just grab one, just have a place to sleep, compared to the previous accommodation, this is expensive and poor cost-effective. The only thing that left a good impression was that the small restaurant next to it was good and the dishes tasted good.

We are not typically B&B people because we like more privacy than most B&B’s provide, at least in our opinion. But we decided to give it a try and we are glad we did. It was above all expectations. We were jet legged when we arrived so we took a short nap. We missed happy hour, but the girl at the desk knew we were tired so she saved us some wine and food. Our room was not huge, but more than adequate. It was clean with a fireplace and updated bath. The inn itself is a charming old house with a large comfortable living room and dining room. We ate breakfast in our hotel supplied bathrobes, just like home. The breakfast was not your typical conventional cereal and bagels. They served flatbread and eggs, a variety of fresh baked breads, juices and fruit as well as coffee and several sweets. We enjoyed it so much we tried to book it again on our way back to the SF airport, but they were full. We go to Carmel annually. We will now make the West Cliff Inn a part of our pilgrimage

This was a last minute trip to SC and we actually found a place to stay that was not only centrally located, but half the price of all the other hotels for the holiday weekend - not too shabby! We were in Room 229 (king sz bedrm). Yes, it is all motel, but the room was clean and that is always my priority. The bed was comfortable. We didnt take advantage of the continental bfast (too many great places to eat nearby). The only concerns for other guests will be 1) the wifi is spotty (use your own data), 2) the walls are paper thin (I wear ear plugs so it never bothers me), and the bathroom is a super tight space (has a shower/full-size tub). I would definitely recommend if you need a 1-2 night, inexpensive, overnight stay in SC.

The hotel itself is very nice and the rooms seem pretty modern. I was here with the family visiting our US relatives. The staff was plenty friendly, and the coronavirus safety features seemed to be well represented. They did have a limited breakfast due to the coronavirus, but anything was appreciated. I would stay here again.

The hotels in Santa Cruz that are close to the boardwalk are so old we were wary of staying at any of them. We decided in the Continental because it was a great balance of distance and price. We were so impressed! The staff were very a accommodating! Jay, the manager, was helpful and knowledgeable. The room was modern and clean. Comfortable temperature. Great beds. Good water pressure. We couldn't even tell the building was old. The landscaping and outside were fresh and clean. It was great!

A great place to stay for vacation. Last Saturday, my friends and I checked in here for one night and two days. The place is super affordable though I have a doubt because of some reviews but to my surprise, I would say this place is very accommodating, clean and friendly. We rented two rooms, one with one bed and the other with two beds. My friend rented the 101 room which only has one bed and the room next to it has full kitchen and two beds although we're not going to use the kitchen, we asked the staff from front desk to maybe move our room next to our friend's but he said we need to add $20 more. We said no to that but he changed his mind and allowed us to get the room with no additional charge. He is very kind and friendly, so are the other staffs. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place to stay at Santa Cruz for vacation although its about 14 mins away from beach boardwalk, it is still worth it.

I came from the east coast, visited Santa Cruz and Im so glad to found this hotel. Eduardo who checked me in was very professional, helpful and provide a high quality service and assistance. He upgraded me to a third floor with a great view and a late a check out so I can enjoy Santa Cruz a little bit more. The location is right in front of the boardwalk, surveillance parking and the room I stayed in was clean and renovated. The weather was overcast that day but the service at Aqua Breeze Inn made it all worthwhile. I recommend this hotel if you happened to stay in Santa Cruz for a short visit or a long one!

My Wife and I decided to stay at the Pacific Blue Inn for a night after many years of wanting to stay. Since there are 10 rooms in this B&B, it is difficult to grab a room unless you book ahead of time. Lucky for us, it was our lucky weekend and we were able to grab a King room on the first floor. While some reviews recommend staying on the second or third floors, I don't think you can go wrong with any room here. Calvin was very kind and helpful in answering questions and accommodating an early check in for us. The parking lot is just a few feet away from the B&B, and despite what you might read in other reviews, the location is harmless. You have to know that Santa Cruz has a certain "crowd", so no matter where you stay, you're going to get the full Santa Cruz flavor, which is completely harmless and very laid back. The location of the Pacific Blue Inn was perfect, as it fits right in between Downtown Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, both being a reasonable walk away. My Wife and I went back and forth between Downtown and the Boardwalk many times, and never felt that it was unsafe at all. The room itself was very nice. The bed and pillows were super comfortable! And the room had a nice electric fireplace that set a nice ambiance. There is also a bathroom and shower that has great water pressure (I can't stand showers that barely spit out any water). Outside of the room is a nice garden area, equipped with two gas fire pits. One of the fire pits wasn't working properly, but the other did, and it was very nice to sit by the fire and have a drink after being out all day into the night. We didn't stick around for breakfast, but we did see they had a continental breakfast out the morning that we checked out. We also noticed after going in and out during the day that snacks and refreshments were made available for guests. My Wife and I can't wait to stay at this B&B again, and we will definitely make sure it is for longer than one night next time. I would recommend the Pacific Blue Inn for anyone who is looking to stay in Santa Cruz for a reasonable rate in a great location of the city!

Extra large rooms and the vaulted ceiling makes the room seem even larger. The room appears to be a recent remodel, done tastefully with a touch of class. The bed is very comfortable with a ridiculously thick mattress. The hotel is in a rural setting and so its extra quiet. The hotel room covers all the basics: fridge, microwave, full toiletries, coffee maker, etc. It's always a peeve of mine when such things are missing. They are very thoughtful. There is a restaurant on the property which does take out, which is really handy during this time of Covid. I highly recommend.

I am a resident of Santa Cruz and have had the pleasure of staying at the Comfort Inn by the boardwalk as we wait on our rental to be ready in a few weeks. I normally do not write reviews, but this place really deserves one. I am a strong believer in individuals that caretake and run motels/hotels being the reflection of the place itself. We have had nothing but the up most kindness and respect given from the manager here. He is always, and I mean ALWAYS available with a smile and fast service. He ensures the property is kept in great condition along with the rooms and exterior. The house keeping staff is friendly and does a phenomenal job cleaning every day. Weekends get busy here and the parking lot is small, but this manager will personally come out and direct you into a spot to ensure you fit. Not only that but he has been known to call us in our room at night and remind us to lock our car as theft is inevitable in life. These little touches are really rare and hard to find these days. The price is right, the beds are comfy, the rooms are super clean, the continental breakfast is way more than you would normally see around. We have stayed at expensive fancy SC hotels and this is hands down our cozy favorite place to visit. Please consider on your next trip here. Enjoy!! All the best, Stacy

The Inn has a very good location, right by Johan Beach and with the sliding door open, we could hear the ocean all night. We upgraded to an ocean view room and had a balcony facing out. It got a little hot in the room, despite having a ceiling fan, as we couldn't open any windows apart from the sliding doors. It appears there is no A/C. Our room was very nice, modern and clean, with a lovely bathroom. Unfortunately, the mattress was very soft and we barely slept most of the night, kept waking up and in the morning, had back pain. That's the main reason why we wouldn't come back. The other reason is, that the Inn has many open areas with porches and decks, and it can get quite loud. There was a family having a fiesta in the afternoon with lots of people and loud music. Of course, it's their right to do that, as they stopped before bedtime, but, nevertheless, we didn't enjoy listening to it while sitting on the balcony. Parking is provided. There's no food during COVID. You can easily walk to the harbor and boardwalk and there are restaurants close by. We brought our bikes and it's only a few miles along the coast to Capitola. If you like soft mattress and don't need quiet, this is your place.

The front desk is Indian, but it may be Latin American, they still can't get out. The attitude at the front desk is still good. The motel is relatively small with only a total of more than 20 rooms. The room is small, but the bath is hot enough. However, the quilt on the bed was covered with a blanket directly, which made people feel uncomfortable because they didn't know how to dry. We don't like the fancy quilt, it's still white, and at least we can't see it clean. There are many places to eat when the hotel goes out for about 800 meters. It doesn't matter if you don't have breakfast. The location of the hotel is still good.

Stayed in Room 2 which is on the ground level, and it’s mobility friendly. Queen bed is soft yet firm enough 4 poster bed is nice touch, however, sleeper on left side might have view of tv partially obstructed. This was not an issue for me, and I didn’t try to fix (as I’m apt to do). If tv we’re mounted on a swing arm this would not be an issue at all. Tv was adequate size, standard cable. Really wished it had Netflix instead, we’re not used to commercials! Fireplace provides perfect thermostat-controlled heat, with light giving very nice nightlight. Real oak floors very nicely adorned with large comfy rug. White Planation blinds on windows a nice touch. Electronic locks on outside and room door ensured safety inside, and honestly the smartphone locks are a nice touch. Full time coffee and tea service in lobby Ashish on front desk is very friendly and helpful. Even offered to help bring in luggage! Note: if you are interested in home automation, he is a wealth of information and I enjoyed our conversation . All in all a wonderful place to stay. Stayed two nights, mid-week off-season. Check-in was easy, but check-in hours restrictive. Older property, room clean, bright and tidy, but bed comfort only so-so for us. Nice to have microwave, small fridge and coffee maker, but missed not having any breakfast. Good cafe down the street, but breakfast for two will run you something like $35. Walls pretty thin and building creaky, but fortunately the neighbors were quiet and considerate when we were there. Quite a bit of road noise in the morning -- if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Even though the daytime high temperature was only in the 60's, the room was pretty warm and there is no a/c. We did use the fan, which helped. 45 minute walk to the part of downtown where we had dinner (and we are not slow walkers), many small hotels quite a bit closer. Nice that this is not a national chain, and price (about $100/night on our visit) was not unreasonable, but we'll likely look elsewhere next time.
