The stay at Hotel Greinwald was lovely. The rooms are clean and renovated with spacious showers. Breakfast every morning, despite the current COVID restrictions, included everything we needed and eggs were even cooked on request. If we were hungry in the afternoon, the in-house bakery had cakes and pastries ready! The staff is friendly and the town lets you easily access hiking paths around the area and beautiful lakes for activities.

We stopped here on the way to Spain and liked the hotel a lot. The reception and the restaurant is in the other hotel, but it is just 50mts away. Personell is very nice and the breakfast was especially good. The room was ok in size and very clean, bed comfortable. I would stay here again if on the way.

This was a brilliant find. Spent a very enjoyable 7 days staying here – a quiet, family-run hotel with everything you could ask for in terms of clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfasts and evening meals were superb and the hotel is well-placed; a short, pleasant walk to reach the old walled town. Ample parking. Staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. We're very much hoping to return in the future.

The Kulti4t (4 is Vier in German —> kultiVIERt means cultured) is a great restaurant in Wildpoldsried. There is indoor and outdoor seating and usually, there is art on the walls. The food is local fare, but always with a twist, be it in flavoring or visually. Bit the food is always top shelf. This is a great place to go for a casual dinner with friends and family if you want to sit a bit longer and just chat and have a good time. My personal favorite are the Käs‘spatz‘n - a regional pasta specialty and the Münchner Schnitzel - you will never loom at Schnitzel the same way....it is the best. The Allgäu being the best region in all of Bavaria, they do have beer, too. Anyone will get their fill, I promise. In the Summer ask for the Holunderschorle, a great alternative to Cokes and alcoholic beverages.

Stayed one night while on the King Ludgwig Trail. We had a lovely room that was clean and spacious. It has a real family feel to it and you instantly feel welcome. Breakfast was good. We also had a lovely balcony looking into the mountains which was a nice to sit out on after a long day hiking.

Location: 90/100. Excellent location, in the central square, just beside the beautiful 18th century abbey. Unfortunately, there is no parking and the only close and public one can accommodate only three. This is free until 8.30 from Monday to Friday and 9.00 on Saturdays. Then you have to remember to change parking or to pay for an extra half an hour. Not a great deal. Staff: 80/100. Efficient and friendly staff at the reception, slightly less in the breakfast room. Room: 85/100. We slept in a large room with modern and elegant design and very comfortable beds. Although located in the main square, the Hotel is very quiet and we did not face any noise. Breakfast: 55/100. Quite cheap. It should have been of higher quality and with wider choice considering the price of the Hotel Price 75/100. A bit overpriced, considering the lack of garage and quality of breakfast. However, for the German Hotel standard, which is not as high as many other things in this beautiful country, this is a good choice. I would recommend it.
