The Skylark provided exactly what we were looking for: a clean, comfortable room, free parking right outside our door, reasonable price, and location -- location -- location! The motel is not quite 2 miles from the parking lot we had selected, so we were able to get a good night's sleep, and leave for the airport at a reasonable hour. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected and had good lighting. Even though we were right off the street, we didn't experience noisy conditions (the aircraft taking off were noticeable, but after 11:00 pm, this was not an issue). I would stay here again.

It sets itself apart, literally and figuratively from the cluster of other brand hotels near the airport. Here employees display their name badges, acknowledge and welcome Choice Reward members and the hotel policies are prominently posted at the front desk and in the rooms, including its Green Policy where towels and bed linens are replaced every third day unless more frequency is requested. Parking is free and public transportation is right in front of the hotel. There is also a consistent, excellent 'above and beyond' customer service attitude there that I find lacking at competitor hotels. For example, the room pictures posted on this hotel's website are exactly as the room looks. Over the years, I encountered some of the same staffers like the shuttle drivers who are friendly and very informative about what is going on around Chicago. There is Israel, who if on duty at the front desk will take care of any problem to your satisfaction. Although I could not check in immediately upon arrival because I was too early and did not get the exact room I requested, I was allowed to check in after his invitation to enjoy a hot breakfast and assigned a room comparable to the one I specifically requested. All of my other special requests were honored which made me feel special in light of the fact they were very busy that weekend day. Breakfast room staffers Angelo and Lucy still run a clean, tight and stocked ship every morning. I even noticed the breakfast napkins are nice and thick instead of those cheap, thin tissue types I experienced at other hotels. My room was immaculate as usual so I assume the same meticulous housekeepers are on duty. My bed was very clean, comfortable and sleep worthy. My only nitpicking issues were this QI only offers basic cable channels and you cannot control the thermostat over 80°, which were not issues for me this time but may be a serious issue for thin blooded guests like me from the south who want to visit during Chicago's bitter cold winters, which I had done in the past and plan to do this December. None of those hiccups would keep me from returning repeatedly however because the customer service alone from the staff is outstanding and worth a return stay. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and encourage anyone to stay there at any time for any reason. You will not be disappointed.

However, we were immediately greeted and helped at the front desk by the most friendly and helpful man. Gave us dinner suggestions and explained perfectly how the process of breakfast, shuttle, leaving our vehicle worked. Our room was somewhat the same- looked old (especially the bathroom) but it was SO CLEAN! The breakfast options were good and the shuttle was right on time. All personnel we dealt with were so friendly and helpful! When we returned home our vehicle was running and warmed up for us with water bottles and a small treat waiting in the front cupholders. We were extremely impressed and would use this hotel for a park and fly again any time we go out of Midway! Oh and if you like doing more of your own food vs eating out there was a mini fridge and a microwave in the room along with a small table/eating area.

The room was very clean and nicely decorated. Loved the shower! We visited the restaurant, used the shuttle and used room service. This team was a delight and every single encounter was just a pleasure. Thanks for making our otherwise stressful time so much better. We shall be back soon and will stay here when we do.

This hotel is a fine property - but it is NOT set up for people who have cars and intend to valet them. There is no provision for anywhere to stop and go in and check in, no signs indicating that if you are going to valet that you need to drive to another street, and no valet attendants on station when you get there. I have no idea how the management of this hotel has process mapped the customer experience when using the valet is concerned. We got to the hotel location at about 8:00 p.m. and there are obviously not going to be any spots as far as street parking anywhere near the hotel to even be able to walk in. So, having gone around the block twice, I finally decided to pull in to where there was a sign for a valet for another Marriott property (Residence Inn). There are no signs there saying what you should do, nowhere for a car to be parked to wait, and no valet attendants there. Finding my way into the hotel I told the person at the desk that I had a car to valet and she absolutely jumped into the situation, went outside, and coordinated with the valet and ultimately got things under control. However - while this was going on there were people coming up to my wife who was in the car and telling her that if she didn't move it from the alley behind the hotel that they were going to tow the car. As a customer, it appeared to me that that had been not a single thought given to "So, when a guest comes in with a car to valet - what do we expect them to do?" Leaving was a very similar unpleasant experience. I called down at 12:40 to have my car brought around and was told it would be 20-30 minutes. We went down to the lobby a few minutes after one, and were told where the valet staff would come in when the car was there. 20 minutes later (40 minutes after we called down) a valet attendant came in looking for another car that I could hear the front desk staff had taken a call for while we were waiting downstairs and when I asked the valet attendant about mine, he said "Oh, I'll take care of it." So it appeared that my call had never been relayed to the valet staff. At 1:30 (50 minutes after I called down for it) I had my car. The hotel is nice enough, and I'll be the first to admit that as a guy in his 50s with a car, I'm probably not their target demo. I get that it's located in as urban an area as you'll find, and that parking is really, really tough. So just communicate to me that "You know, this might not be the best fit for you if you're bringing your car." That way if I decided to still do so, I'm the one making that call. But either way - if you are going to offer valet parking at your location, it seems to me that you have to put some thought into how your guests are actually going to - you know - USE it. That's the only complaint I have - but it provided a lousy experience both checking in and checking out, and thus taints the entire stay there. The waiters in the hotel lobby are very welcoming and the hotel is in a great location. The bunk bed in the quadruple room is very clean, but the hotel breakfast is really American. It was set almost 5 days in advance, and it cost 507 RMB, and then it was actually 400 full yesterday. It was really a bit unhappy.
I had booked a last minute trip to Chicago's Virgin Hotel to spend some time with my daughters. From the first minute we walked in the service was impeccable. This continued throughout our stay everytime we walked in or out of the hotel (many times). The location was perfect to shops, restaurants, Riverwalk, beautiful architecture, and many other visual attractions.
The only downfall to our visit was it was Covid season and many restrictions to places we could go to watch the football game and/or eat as the restaurants were all closed in the hotel. That was a safety issue for the guests so it was appreciated they weren't open. The one thing I'd recommend is for them to have a list of what was open nearby and what was offered (dine-in, delivery, take out, etc.). We were able to find places on our own, but it would have saved us the time from searching/calling around.

I can't even say enough about how great the Moxy in Chicago was! We arrived way before our check-in time because we had an early flight. Since our room was not quite ready yet, they held our bags for us while we walked around the corner to get a bite to eat. They had our room ready for us at noon which I believe was 4 hours before our actual check-in time. The atmosphere was fun and casual, which was right up our alley. There are games scattered around on the tables which I thought was fun and there is a 24 hour taco joint attached to the hotel as well. I think I tried almost all of the taco choices and they were great! Kylie at the front desk is so sweet and helpful and so was Ellen, the assistant manager. The bartenders were super fun and always willing to give a suggestion on things to do. When we travel, we typically like to see what the locals enjoy doing and every suggestion they gave us was spot on!! I really wish I could remember all of the bartenders that helped us, but I remember Brandon and JJ right off the top of my head. We will definitely be back to the Moxy next time we visit Chicago!
Recently spent two nights here on a college trip with my daughter. Chose this because i was looking for a place in a neighborhood outside the tourist areas, that was cheap, and relatively well reviewed. Pros: Regular neighborhood outside the tourist areas. Relatively new. Funky sports theme. Fairly inexpensive. Parking outside at not crazy price. My teenage daughter dug ther funky vibe and cafe in the lobby. Content teenager is kinda cool. Cons: Small rooms. This is true of any place in Chicago. We had bunk full beds -- it was fine for two, but would've been crowded fsoor three or more. Housekeeping was odd. When we got in our room their were fitted sheets on the bed but the flat sheets were just folded and left at end of bed. So we had to make the beds. Second night they took away the flat sheets and put on 2nd fitted sheets. Had to call for new flat sheets and make the beds again. The housekeeping thing fits with the general "upscale youth hostel for families" vibe. If you want skyline views, this isn't your place. It's two stories bordered by an alley on one side and the El on the other. Our room faced the alley...we could hear the El but it wasn't a problem. I'd consider staying here again if I was coming back with my teens who would line the non-traditional vibe. It's clean, new and a good option outside the typical high-rise tourist haunts with overpriced parking.
I was recently staying here for a wedding. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy. It was perfect for what we needed it for and we all slept very comfortably. Best of all, I had family things come up and needed to leave a day early, I did have advanced notice but Expedia fooled me into thinking I could get the last day taken off, but they never processed my request. I know that sounds bad, but the owner stood up for me and refused to charge me for the last night since I was checking out early n before 11am. He was so helpful, and knew that if he didn’t charge me for the night, they couldn’t force me to pay. Thank you so much Heart O’ Chicago and Jawed Imtiaz. You saved me almost $100. I really appreciate it.

The rooms are medium in size and located in the city center. The surrounding facilities are complete, there are shopping malls and a lot of restaurants. For downtown hotels, the price / performance ratio is very good! Hilton's Samsung Hotel, but this brand can meet the four-star standard in China. I personally like this brand and recommend it!

Very close to the airport, but it takes 12 minutes to walk from the Blue Line subway station. It is a bit biased. Then the hotel has a 24-hour shuttle bus for 24 hours a day, 15 and 45 respectively. The breakfast is good and the food is very good.

There is a park next to the hotel, my room is on the side, and I can see a bit of Lake Michigan. The hotel is old, but the brush is completely white, and it is still very warm. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the gorgeous mile of the famous MICHIGAN Avenue. Marriott Hotel, LOUNGE is available for members on the second floor, breakfast is plentiful and can be ordered. We only have good things to say about this hotel! I know it's Covid and all, but we're kind of getting used to how hotels are run nowadays. First of all, the location is perfect. It's close to the Magnificent Mile, Lake front trail, River Walk, etc. We parked using an app and chose to use The Streeter Garage on Ohio street. It was just a couple minutes of a walk. We chose this garage because it was the cheapest covered garage near by. Overall the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The pool was closed which was a disappointment to our son, but most pools are in Chicago at this moment. You do have to reserve a spot to use the workout facilities, but we did not find this to be a problem. I'm a runner and prefer to run outside, but we lacked the proper clothing for the chilly morning. However, I found the treadmill to be very nice. And the stunning views made up for running indoors! As for the room itself, the bed was very comfortable, the TV was surprisingly big, and the bathroom was quite modern with a nice shower head. Overall we felt quite blessed to have found this gem of a hotel. We will definitely be back in the future!
