Hotels Near Caffe Mazzini In Favignana Review
We have stayed at Baglio il Piffero in September and in October. During our first stay, having booked only one of the four apartments and studio, we soon realised how uncomfortable and inconvenient is to stay in this property. The fact is that the apartment we stayed in September shared the terrace space and anyone staying could be heard living no privacy to any of the other guests. During this stay there has been an on going complaint for noise and our frustration was due to the fact that no matter how much care we would take in being quite, anything could be heard next door. Owner forced us to leave the premises after the second day and we happily did to continue holidays somewhere else . Since we had another booking for October we weren't back for 3 nights. This time we had booked all the 4 apartments and enjoyed our stay. But this time we became sure that this Baglio is best and comfortable only when booked completely by a family or a group of friends that can co-live in the same place without being bothered and annoyed by strangers sharing same open spaces. The apartments and studio are nicely decorated, nice are the terraces, less nice is the fact that the owner remote controls the functionality of the A/C and the hot water in the showers is limited. We daily had issues with the hot water as it was not enough for the all group showering at the same time. Beside the kind assistance of a German lady, the Bangladesh man is not service minded at all and he rather quarrel over request than being co-operative to ensure guests have a good stay. Be sure to book the all Baglio if you really chose to stay here or else I suggest to go somewhere else.
We stayed in this hotel 2 nights in June 2019. The hotel is located right in downtown Marsala so it's in walking distance from everything you want, but that comes at a price: the hotel has no garage so if you have a car you need to leave it hundreds meters from the hotel (if you mange to get there in the first place) then leave the keys at reception. When you need the car they fetch it for you. Apart from that, the hotel is really good and breakfast in the morning is not too bad. But it's the location the star feature.
We have felt so welcomed and appreciated here at our stay in Hotel Vittoria. The front desk staff have gone way out of their way to make tour arrangements for us because most all tour agencies have closed for the season. They have been patient and accommodating. Thank you! Our room is very comfortable, modern, spacious and spotlessly clean with many amenities. The breakfast has a variety of meats and cheeses, pastries, buns and cakes, cereals, yogurts, fruits etc. There were boiled eggs as well. The location is excellent. It is just on the edge of the old town and port where there are many fine restaurants and shops. The public bus to get to Erice is very close.
We stayed 5 nights at La Gancia. The hotel is a great base for going to the Egadi islands and nearby beaches during the day and enjoying the old town in the evening. Our room was large, air conditioned and had a seaside view. You can actually swim in that town beach on a nice day when the water is clear! Sometimes it was windy and not able to swim. Breakfast on the rooftop is nice and service is friendly. With COVID, the kind waitress will take your buffet order on paper and send to your table. So many restaurants in the area, you are spoilt for choice. The nearest car park is a 8 min walk. Walk inside Via Garibaldi street not on the sea street to protect from the sun.
I am surprised by some of the negative comments. Star ratings are based on room size and Tiziano had wonderful rooms as it is a newly built (not city center) hotel. Yes you are a walk to the old city but nothing wrong with the neighborhoods you are walking through. Those reviewers are imposing US stereotypes on Italy with its small narrow softly lit city streets flanked with its multi-story buildings. If worried about the neighborhoods either walk down the harbor front with its normal offerings of eateries and then cut up to the old town or if you have a car drive down the waterfront with its ample parking or drive to the large parking area adjacent to the old town. Walking is a must as cars are forbidden in the city center itself. The hotel was clean (even the telltale runners on the elevator doors), well maintained, with ample on-site parking (Italian style) and a very friendly accommodating staff. The breakfast buffet was well above average but not exceptional and the coffee well made. Because of its location it is only a short drive from the autostrada and offers immediate access to the route to Marsala.
What a beautiful place run by a super nice family, the place is spotlessly clean with a great swimming pool and they speak good English, about a 10 minute drive to Marsala town centre and the salt plains of Lo Stagnone, also a great place to stay if you like kitesurfing I arrived as a guest and left as a friend Thank you Sergio and Daisy and your lovely family for a great time
