We spent 4 nights and NicaDomus in Licata and recommend it highly. The place is very modern and well maintained, yet affordable and in the centre of old Licata in walking distance of the old heart of the town. The rooms are cleaned every day and well equipped. Breakfast was generous - the owner even bought a special juice for me when she found out I was pregnant! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful from the start - from collecting us at the bus station when we arrived late at night, to restaurant recommendations, to arranging a driver for a trip to the Valle di Templi.

This little boutique hotel is located in old part of Licata -a little town that used to be a small fishing village. There was some mix up with our room but the owner sorted it out and gave us a fantastic little place a bit further out (5 min walk). Even though I had my reservation about this mix up, the owner’s attitude was just fantastic and made it up. The breakfast (typical Italian, cakes, coffee etc) is very nice and the host will (if asked) even provide a more north European breakfast. The room we were given was very modern beautiful and clean while the rest of the rooms are very rustic. Highly recommended!

This is a small hotel (about 12 rooms) in a fully renovated historical villa overlooking the town of Licata, well away from all traffic and noise. Staff are very gracious & hospitable, service is excellent in every respect. All the staff speak English well - a pleasant surprise. It is clean and very well-maintained. The rooms are a bit smaller than an average hotel, but this is more than made up by the very pleasant public rooms & lounges on the main floor, and the beautiful and extensive garden areas outside. Rooms are comfortable, with all the amenities one could want, and surprisingly soft (by Italian standards) & comfortable beds. Internet is fast and free. I stayed here for 3 nights, it was easily the best hotel I stayed at during a 4 week tour of Sicily. The hotel restaurant is excellent. You do need a car, though, if you stay here - it is located well away from the downtown area (not that there is much worth seeing in Licata).

This s the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. It is off a major road and close to an industrial park. It is nowhere near the sea or town without a car you are stuck here. The owners are a brother and sister team. He is incredibly rude, openly argumentative and has no idea whatsoever about the hospitality business. He shouts at guests and stands guard over the meagre breakfast offerings to ensure no one takes more than one croissant! Below in other reviews someone said breakfast was a feast that is a lie unless he is writing his own reviews. Only cheap processed croissants, some mushy fruit and crackers offered. No eggs, cheese or ham, for those who do not want a sugar overload at breakfast- typical continental breakfast selection nowhere to be seen. When I asked for a boiled egg or cheese was told they couldn’t do it as short staffed, on day 2 when same rubbish was offered was told too bad eat what is here! We waited more than 15 mins for coffee and when I asked a third time for it was told to go get it myself from the bar which happens to be on the furthest point of the hotel away from the Dining room. Joke is no toilet paper in rooms had to go ask for some at reception and on the second day again go ask for it at reception where it is kept (see photo). Lightbulbs blown and told couldn’t be replaced as no one available to do it so we asked for a bulb and did it ourselves. Pool is unclean and slimy and you access it by a gravel dirt track. We paid a premium £618 euros for 2 nights and felt it would have been a rip off at £50 euro a night for the discourteous, rude service and very poor facilities. There are only 3 or 4 staff trying to run the place and despite their best efforts are unable to meet demands of guest service. We will be taking this up with Booking.com and seeking a refund as we did not receive the service we paid for.

My husband and I stayed here for our mini-moon. Staff on front desk were very welcoming and friendly. They were always ready to help with all our queries and were very helpful. On the day we left they packed breakfast for us in a bag with water, apple juice, french toast, croissant, cake, jam and rolls with cheese. It was very nice of them and I would recommend to ask for this if you are planning an early trip one day out of the resort The hotel is situated in a deserted area of Butera with not a lot nearby, just a lot of dusty motorways. There is a pizzeria next to the hotel which serves tasty food. Other reviews have said the service wasn't great but I found it to be fine. There is also a strip club next to the hotel which I found odd. I would recommend hiring a car if you plan to visit other places as there is town nearby called Licata which have lovely restaurant and an amazing Gelato place. You can also drive to the valley of the temples which is close by via a car. The hotel ground sits on a lovely private beach which I would say is the best thing about the hotel. The view is beautiful, you get to see the lovely lush sea with a glimpse of the the castle. This setting and the private beach is what I was most satisfied about the hotel. The room I must say is what was most disappointing. We had paid for a classic room with sea view. You get to see the sea which was very nice but the room itself was not great. It was very dark and dingy. It was hard to get ready in. The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows was so thin and lifeless, we had to actually request extra pillows. The room and bathroom was very clean I must say. The bathroom was well lit and clean but had a broken light in the toilet. The lock on our door to enter the room was actually broken (I think possibly by the maid as we came back and found it like that) and it was fixed by the handyman but it still wasn't great as it just needed a little push and it would open on its own. Luckily we stayed out most of the time so I didn't have to feel bad about the room so much. But overall I was disappointed with the room. The food in the hotel was decent. We were on halfboard so had breakfast and dinner included. Dinner was nice and plentiful. Breakfast was just your bog standard, nothing to rave about. I did find it out that the waiters did not ask us for orders for our beverages for breakfast or dinner but had asked everyone around us. Didn't understand why but it didn't bother us at the time. Overall I would say this is more of 3 star hotel in terms of the room but I would recommend this hotel purely for the private beach which was magical. I would not recommend this for your honeymoon as it is not a couples only resort...they were plenty of kids. If you're a family with children then this is perfect.
