Crystalbrook Bailey was my stopover hotel so I wasn't expecting anything flash etc however when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful and modern this hotel is. Such a change to a lot of the older Cairns hotels. I felt like I was in a hotel in Melbourne! Check in was a breeze and staff were lovely, I was in my room in no time at all. There is alot of stunning modern artworks all throughout the building, very cool to find as you make your way to your floor. The room was beautiful and sufficient for a one nights stay, I could have easily stayed for longer! The location is great, in the city and close to the esplanade. I would definitely stay here again!

This is an old apartment with the furniture and interior look outdated. The best thing of this apartment is the location close to everywhere, but there are a lot of apartment in Cairns too. A few thing we feel disappointed, Firstly we are not satisfy with the service from the receptionist, she is not friendly at all. Secondly is about the car parking even though is included in the price, but there is not entrance pass provided, each time you need to come out from the car and go in to the lounge and walk to the car parking press the open button. The receptionist told us when she is on duty we can just wave our hand and she will open for us, but never happened during our 4 days stay, even she is on the desk she just pretend she didn't see us! Further in the manual book in the apartment saying there is possible to provide guest entrance pass remote control, but the receptionist never offer us! This apartment is old need upgraded, not suitable for cooking even cooking facilities is provided as there is smoke fire alarm, and the range hood is not working well. Pls be aware there is only 1 small lift in this apartment.

No breakfast. Not a hotel, it is an apartment. There is a kitchen in the room, the pots and pans are all in order, and you can cook. Even the waiter did not, just the gentleman at the front desk, everything is looking for him. Can be an extra bed, just met a Shanghai family to stay, heard that they said to have an extra bed, it seems to be 65 knives. I don't know how to answer the questions with children, I don't know what the point of attention is. Hotel location is OK, opposite the public open-air swimming pool of lagoon, 5 minutes walk to the pier. There is a parking lot.

Let me talk about the good place first, that is, the room is large and the rough looks very clean. Look carefully, there is blood on the sheets. There is no wifi. There is a wifi for the tenants, basically the signal is not received in the room, the one that can receive the signal, I asked about it only for their employees, but why should a worker want this wifi. There is no problem without breakfast. There are many supermarkets nearby, you can buy some milk in the refrigerator. Buy some more breakfast. You can use a microwave to heat it up.

I booked this room because I wanted my own space, bathroom and kitchenette close to the city. This was exactly what I wanted, about 10-15 min walk from most places in Cairns, aircon, quiet and enough space to chill in. It's definitely on the higher end of price - I paid ~$155 / night, but it was worth it in my opinion.

We arrived at the hotel around 1.30pm and we were able to check in straight away, the girl on reception was very friendly and explained where our room was as there are 2 towers . We were on the 10th floor with a city view. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Loved how they are helping with environmentally keys for your door which are just round bamboo disks and also having no plastic bottles in the fridges, just glass bottles. All tv programs were free so we’re able to watch new release movies and free wifi . We had booked a holiday package , so we also had free car parking and a $250 credit to use at any of their hotels . Would definitely stay here again .

Stayed in Cairns for three nights, the number of rooms booked is limited, the maximum occupancy of five people between the two, even if the child does not have an extra bed, the number of people as long as more than five people, can only upgrade the room into a three-room room. There is no breakfast in the hotel. The apartment hotel can cook for yourself. There is a supermarket on the street downstairs. It is convenient. The hotel is not far from the pier, but it is not the most convenient hotel. The rainy season in Cairns, the rainforest can go, no Mistakes, but the experience of going out to sea is much worse. It's damp, it's hot during the day, the room and the hallway have a strong taste (moldy taste), the room has a balcony, the sea view is OK, but this sea view is really average, not comparable to the Gold Coast. Balcony view and harbour video are as follows

This is definitely a place that is orientated more towards families rather than couples. What was good was the friendly staff throughout the resort, the food and beverage service and the convenient underground parking. Stayed in a deluxe king room on the fifth floor overlooking Cairns city which appears to have been recently upgraded. Room smelt damp on entry and after the first shower it was evident why. It is hard to believe that someone designed the shower so that water flowed directly onto the floor and out into the living area even when you had the least amount of water flow possible. Wee bit of a design flaw I would suggest. Also, when booking a King size bed it would be a good idea to ask guests if they want a second bed in the room along with connecting rooms. I personally have no wish to have connecting rooms unless I am staying as a family. This door along with the front door were not particularly well sealed and you could here plenty of noise from outside and next door. The balcony is marketed as being intimate in yet has one chair and being a connecting room has nothing between you and your neighbours balcony. Hardly intimate. Based on the reviews I am sure this place is perfect for families however, there are better choices for couples elsewhere in Cairns.

I had an overall good experience at this hostel but the rooms were uncomfortably warm & damp. Not sure if that reflects an issue with the ventilation/air conditioning on 1st floor or it's just the reality of living in the tropics in general, but it greatly affected the quality of my sleep. At the very least, it would be helpful to prohibit the use of strongly scented perfumes in the dorm rooms and/or allow the dorm doors to remain open during the day to make the air more breathable. The pricing was very reasonable for everything that was included & the central location. I was impressed at how clean & available the bathrooms were. I also thought the staff & night manager were nice & helpful. Would highly recommend if you can tolerate the humidity.

When we arrived the fella was sitting on his chair looking at google and not really worried about our group. The older lady was really good but that was it . Never stay again

1) It was a nightmare checking-in. I reached the hostel at 6:30pm and realized that there was no reception but to use Goki for checking-in. However, I received a notice from Goki that ”no reservation” after keying in my confirmation number. I got a shock and kept asking for help from strangers within the hostel. By the time I got it solved, it was like 8:30pm and I was starved to death. 2) Though Goki is an easy system but u need to bring your mobile everywhere you go even to the toilet eg shower (what happen if you forget to bring out the phone); there was a time my phone was almost out of battery (1% left) and I have to quickly charge it by borrowing charger from others. 3) There is no window in my room (single) and the air-con temperature is beyond my control 4) The reception area only opens till 2pm daily, after which you have to make call for any housekeeping services. It really pose inconveniences for first timer who wants to know about Cairns in terms of the directions, places of interests etc. 5) The location is excellent but I don't think I will recommend this hostel to my friends in future.

Our apartment was very clean and well appointed. Lovely view of the esplanade. We will definately stay here again on our next visit to Cairns. The city centre of Cairns is about a 30 minute walk along the Esplanade and a $8 Uber ride to return if you aren't up for the return walk. A nice location not being in the busy centre of the city but still close enough to be within reach. North Cove advertises itself as your home away from home and it is certainly is that. Kitchen was well stocked, rooms are large, wifi and complex was secure. I would recommend this apartment to couples, families, and business travellers.

The location is good, almost all hotels are in this area, and this one is relatively new. The service was unsatisfactory. The front desk service is good, but the housekeeping is a bit perfunctory. The guest room front desk phone occasionally doesn't work. The swimming pool is open-air and is more beautiful. It is recommended to stay in the tower with pool view, as the sea view is not good. When there are not many people, you can ask him to change to a room with a bathtub.

I really loved this motel as it was very Quiet during the day and night, even though they were full with guests. The motel was very, very clean, the beds were very comfortable and there was enough room for my two young children to play. The staff at reception were so friendly and helpful in arranging a ground floor unit for me. I have noticed that many hotels in Cairns are not staffed since Covid and it was so wonderful to have friendly staff available at reception and answering phones. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Pullman's is close to everything in town. I rang Pullman's the day after I booked a room & asked reservations if I could get a upgrade to a harbour view, the reservations person said that yes I could get an upgrade & that it would cost me an extra $20 a night on top of what I had paid, I said should I pay for that now, they said no when you arrived it will be $80 as I was staying for 4 nights. When I arrived I asked them about my upgrade & they said there was no record of me wanting an upgrade & that they could not help with a harbour view room as they did not have any available. I had other friends staying at the hotel at the same time that paid for mountain views & got harbour views. The furniture in the rooms were old & tables were swollen & had big chips out of them, outdoor table & chairs were not 5 star. We had breakfast at Coco's, I had ordered muffins, my friends had ordered omelette & bacon & eggs. I changed my mine 1 minute after I ordered, I wanted waffles I asked the staff & they said yes they would change my order. My friends order came & I waited for 20 minutes before I got my waffles. Staff were walking around the restaurant with orders & asking people had they ordered this, they had no table numbers, no idea who ordered what, they looked very unprofessional.

This hotel is very good. We are a family of three adults and one child. The room is very large, with a double bed (1.5 meters wide) and two single beds, separate bathroom, refrigerator, microwave oven, dishes, cutlery and forks. Spoons and toasters are very convenient. The hotel has no breakfast and no extra bed. It is suitable for a family. It can be said to be very good at this price. The hotel also has free parking spaces, free Wi-Fi, and a small swimming pool. The hotel is 1.2 kilometers away from the bustling beach area. You can eat and drink when you stroll. The location of the hotel is within the range of free pick-up and drop-off for day trips, which is very convenient.

We rented a 3 bed apartment for one week in July. Anna, the property manager, is an absolute gem who couldn't have been more helpful throughout the stay. The apartment was reasonably well equipped though the kitchen could have done with an oven glove, more than one tea towel, cling wrap/foil, dishwashing tablets , toilet paper etc. A BBQ on the large deck would also be good as the communal BBQ is missing. The bedrooms were airy and comfortable. Reasonable amount of road noise but that is due to location. The outside deck had a thin film of dirt ? pollution that left all of our feet black when going out there...not sure how often it is cleaned. Nice but unheated communal pool.

There is then NO aircon in the communal areas, making it incredibly uncomfortable to cook or relax. There is not clothes horse for drying clothes. I booked and pre-paid for three nights at this property - but would gladly have moved out immediately had I been able to do so. Reception seems to have very loose hours - I never saw anyone staffing reception. The carpet was stained and marked, the curtains were filthy and did not close properly. Doors and walls had crudely patched and repainted repairs. Garden bed was full of discarded cigarette butts and other litter. Bathroom taps were very hard to turn off - so drips were a constant source of annoyance. Laundry floor filthy. Ceiling lighting: 2 / 4 out of action. I asked Manager to repair or replace. No action. No response. No room servicing. Internet said this place had a restaurant and bar. Nope. Closed. A/con unit did not heat - but was so noisy I would not have used it even it it did heat the room. A very unpleasant experience all round. Do not stay at this property.

Man hätte es also sehen müssen. My wife and I stayed at Cairns Holiday park for one week in an ensuite site. While the sites are drive through they are not long enough to stay hitched. Also, the roads are narrow making parking a bit difficult. It took a bit of manoeuvring to get out as well, luckily there was no-one in the site in front, so we managed to drive through. The park is in a great location within easy drive to everything in Cairns, although not much is in walking distance. The ensuite was in reasonably good condition, but what made it special was that it was 'refreshed' half way through our stay. We do not use ensuite sites a lot, but this was the first time we had an ensuite cleaned and toilet paper, towels and soap replaced - we really appreciated that extra touch. There is a bit of road noise, but it did not disturb us a great deal. Also, it is not far off the flight path for Cairns Airport, but again we did not find it a problem. There were no overnight flights so it did not disturb our sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, this was a very good caravan park, probably a good choice to stay in Cairns.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hostel, I would go as far as saying that it's the best hostel I stayed in. There is a fantastic pool and common area which makes it so easy and natural to meet new people and make friendships that can last a lifetime! There is also a travel desk right next to the reception where you can you can book the most memorable experiences All the staff are always extremely helpful and accommodating. Will no doubt come back here whenever I come back to cairns and I suggest that everybody else does too!

After hearing our angry complaints, the Japanese guy at the front desk helped us adjust the room and transferred to the room that matched the photo of our order. Although the area of the room did not reach the 39 square meters described on Ctrip's website, and there was no exhaust fan, it was very ventilated. The air is very good and the view is beautiful. It’s not mainly the aisle balcony. When we left the store, the attitude of the old gentleman at the front desk was also very good, but the attitude of the female staff was extremely bad.

The photos provided by the operators are extremely deceptive. The accomodation is old and run down. The shower tiles were painted at some stage, and it is now peeling off both the floor and the walls. The “updated” vanity basin and tap are poorly sizes and you are unable to fully wash your face due to the shape and size of the basin with a shorter necked faucet . There is no complete enclosure for water in the shower resulting in you flooding the bathroom each time you shower- we ended up using the common showers in the passageway to attempt keep our room dry. The toilet paper is only single ply so bring your own if you decide to stay here !! Our towels and sheets had stains on them and the pillows are flat and lumpy. I wouldn’t swim in the pool unless you’ve had your latest tetanus shots. We were followed back to the accommodation by a slightly hostile homeless person one night which was slightly unnerving for our teenage daughters. The nicest part of this accommodation is the outdoor BBQ area. The breakfast provided smelt ok, but we decided to eat at the cafe at the marina each day as we were heading out to the reef and islands anyways. We decided to stay here and save money as generally we are out during the day and only need a comfortable bed and a clean shower- next time we will be going back to our regular accommodation closer to the Esplanade. If you want to stay in Cairns, I can not scream it louder, DO NOT TO STAY HERE. The reviews are good but locals say the owner makes the staff write these when in reality, it’s a s***hole. A few of the reasons for this: 1. There is no boom gate for the parking. I know this doesn’t seem like the biggest deal breaker but when the police are making random stops inside the hotel parking area, my alarm bells go off and I’d prefer to have my car and belongings secure. 2. Had a place on the top floor. When we came in, there was a slippery oil like substance on the floor. We had to clean it up ourselves and when we spoke to the owner about it, she said it must be the condensation from the air conditioner from the apartment below us. Not only is this a serious slipping hazard but what a stupid and ridiculous response! However, we came to find this wasn’t the stupidest answer we would receive from her. 3. We found ants all over the kitchen bench. It looks as though they were heading into a hole in the grout above the tiles. The owner came up, with no shoes on and asked us what type of ants they were. Obviously we didn’t know so she had a look. “Oh, they’re little sugar ants. What a bummer”. I kid you not, that was her exact response. The only solution she could offer was a can of bug spray the next morning. Also, to do this, we had to use our own mobiles due to the fact the 2 phones in the room were not working. 4. Sheets were dirty, paper thin with stains all over them as well as only being rationed 1 pillow each with the ones for the sofa bed in the cupboard looking quite filthy. There were also numerous missing knives and cutlery, so too bad if I needed to cut up a meal! 5. With 6 people staying 3 nights, you would assume they would give you more than 1 1/4 rolls of toilet paper! How long is that meant to last us? Housekeeping is severely lacking here. 6. Who on earth keeps saying this is in a good location!?!? It is ages away from anywhere and you honestly have to drive to get into town if you don’t feel like walking for hours. We were going to stay there 3 nights (ended up staying one) and they gave us a refund for the last night after stating there is a 2-night minimum. I genuinely have never wanted to be out of a place quicker. This place is an absolute joke. I have travelled around Australia and the world and this is hands down probably the worst I have ever been to. Hopefully this review will help others in the future to NOT STAY HERE and be informed about the proper state of the Waterfront Terraces.
