We stayed at Geary Parkway while visiting San Francisco on a motorcycle ride. The hotel was great and conveniently located to the Golden Gate Bridge. However, the best part was the manager Henry and his customer service. We unknowingly dropped our bike key and didn't realize it until 300 miles later when we stopped for gas and couldn't turn on the bike. Luckily I could start the bike with a pin code, but Henry called me to tell me about the key. Not only that he printed out a shipping label so UPS could pick up the key from the hotel and get it back to the Harley Davidson rental shop. In essence, that $25 to ship the key was far better than paying $300 to replace it. I know this review seems less about the motel and more about Henry, but we are just so greatful and appreciative for his help.

This is a great place to stay in San Francisco! Jack let us check in early and leave our luggage in the room. Everything was perfect! We stayed in room 15, which was an upper floor street-side room. I was worried about traffic noise but the rooms are soundproofed and it was very quiet! The bed was comfortable and the room was charming. The bathroom was beautiful! It was spacious, with a gorgeous countertop, sink, and heated bidet. I loved the automatic soft lights embedded in the mirror, so that a late night bathroom visit didn't involve bright lights. We appreciated the fact that heat was forced air, and not one of those loud units blasting away that keep you awake all night. There's a cozy sitting area downstairs in addition to the dining room. Breakfast is cooked to order or you can eat from the buffet of fruit, granola, and lots of other options. There are a lot of gluten-free options too. They are very accommodating for food allergies, and snacks are out all day. Next time we spend the night in San Francisco we're definitely staying at the Monte Cristo B&B!

I stayed at the Laurel Inn when it was a "motor inn" in the 1980's. What a change! The furnishings are lovely, reception staff courteous and welcoming. Housekeeping does an excellent job. For a busy intersection in SFO, my room was quiet, with a view of downtown SFO. The adjacent Laureate Lounge is good for bar snacks and lively ambiance. The continental breakfast fare is limited, but just a few steps away is Ella's Cafe for full breakfast at good quality and value.

Driving through San Francisco in my way home I decided to stay at Stanyan Park for the night. I found the hotel clean, the room was basic in terms of amenities but nice enough, and the location was perfect. The front desk staff were all amazing at all points of contact; during and after my stay. I left my toiletry bag in the bathroom and didn’t discover this until I arrived home in San Diego. I panicked, my toiletry bag had several medications that were not only VERY expensive, but mediation that MUST be taken daily. I immediately called the hotel and they informed me that it was located and that once I arranged for shipping they would send it out right away. Of course I arranged with Fedex for shipping, confirmed with the desk agent that she had received the shipping label and was told it would be sent right away. The next day I noticed that the packages had not been received by Fedex yet, so I called the hotel again and was told the GM had taken it home with him and was dropping it off to be shipped. Over the next 3 days I waited for it to arrive per my email, but Fedex hadn’t actually received the package yet. I called on Monday morning asking to speak with the GM, who was not in yet. I again pressed the urgency of the issue about getting my bag. I went as far as having to say “this is my health and should not be treated so casually”. It wasn’t until that phone call that the GM then took my bag to Fedex...adding another 3 days to my wait. I NEVER received a call from the GM, and have only received an apology from the desk agents. I am a hotel GM and have been for many years (Marriott properties and a luxury resort) and I’m honestly blown away by his lack of urgency and follow through. All he needed to do was drop the package off. Instead I had to call 2 times to get it done and then borrow medication from friends to get by until it arrives. The desk staff are the only reason this isn’t a 1 start review. Seriously poor leadership.

Such a beautiful hotel, we chose to stay here as it was in the nicer part of SF and we were visiting from London for three nights. The surrounding areas have some beautiful houses and feel very safe. The service in the hotel was fabulous from start to finish and nothing was too difficult for the staff. We used the hotel bicycles, chauffeur service, dvd hire, valet/parking (all included within price). Continental breakfast had an amazing choice of healthy breakfast smoothies, salmon, eggs, pastries, porridge (everything you could ask for!). We also visited the wine reception, which is way more than just a wine reception! It had amazing nibbles and a great selection of wines. Cookies served in the afternoon in the lounge were also delicious (yes - we really made use of everything!). Lovely bvlgari toiletries, pillow menus and homemade Drisco shortbread biscuits in your room every day. My only regret was staying at this hotel at the start of our California road trip, the standards at this hotel are so high nothing comes close!

My experience at that hotel was less than poor. I will list the issues I had during the nights I had to spend there and I apologize in advance if I am graphic with some issues but I need to call things for their name. 1. First day I showered there I found pubic hair on more than one towel. (Tuesday, February 25th) 2. Same day I found hairs on the walls of the shower. 3. The shower floor was super slippery. I slipped (didn’t fall) twice. Didn’t ask for a anti-slip mat because after seeing the poor hygiene they had, I was scared of them giving me one with mold on it. 4. The plug in the restroom didn’t work. 5. The hair dryer didn’t work. 6. The AC/Heating unit was extremely loud. 7. I woke up with a horrible migraine on Wednesday at 3:30 am and needed to take my medicine, no water in the room, so I adventured to open the fridge and Surprise!!! … I found a bag with a sandwich, another bag with food and a beer in there (needless to say that was not mine). So I called the front desk to ask for water and the lady told me to drink tap water because in San Francisco was very safe to drink from the tap. I checked the paper cups and all “sealed” cups were not sealed… the bags were opened. At that point didn’t really know if it was even safe to pour water on those cups.

SF hotels seem to be silly prices and this one fitted our budget well. It is out of the main city but is still in a good area with places close by to eat and drink. Uber was less than $10 to pier 39, or a nice 45 min walk along the waterfront. The guy on reception was very helpfull but just one of those few Americans we met (were British) that didn't show the happy face of customer service. Rooms seem to have had a make over, were large, comftable and had everything we needed. Its SF , you are not going to spend much time in your room after all. Breakfast was fine with coffee, juice, fruit and plenty of pastries. Is a good choice for those who are on a budget but don't mind being in a quite neighbourhood away from the attractions.

The location of the hotel is good and there is a free car parking space if you can get it. The welcome at the desk was very friendly and the room was really spacious and pretty modern. No complaints about the room itself or the beds. The bathroom was a little bit grubby and could do with a bit of a spruce up to be honest. We stayed two nights and it was fine, it did the job. The only complaint would be that upstairs were very noisy at like 6am, I thought at the time the walls/floors might be fairly thin but to be fair I do think they were being exceptionally loud. Other than that, it was fine. Plus there’s a nice little diner next door.

We have stayed here at least 7 times over last 3 months. My husband has been going to UCSF for health reasons & we find the down stairs units very accommodating with parking right outside. We are able to call ahead & directly talk with Andy or Amy (on site managers). They are friendly & helpful. The immediate area has all amenities required for several days. We will continue to recommend to family & friends.

No doubt this is a no-fuss hotel and the rooms are being upgraded, the service really needs an upgrade too. The lift is old and noisy. We were stuck in it for a good 10 mins. Sent me into a state of panic. Despite of ringing the bell, no one at the reception knew anything about it. Miraculously it worked again after 10 horrifying minutes! The reception barely has anyone there. Each time we needed attention, we had to ring the bell many times. When notified about the lift, there was no apology.

Stayed here with work for a whole week. Not a fan or hotels in the US as they are usually the basic of basic with a motel feel. Room, as expected was basic although a working iron and TV was a blessing. Room and bathroom a good size and the shower was very good, although free bathroom condiments not so much, having to use 2 of everything each shower to actually feel clean/make a lather (I’ve no hair!) Only saw an employee once, on check in. She was nice enough. ‘Free breakfast’ really annoys me as its barely a breakfast offering with a coffee pot and some pastries available in reception. This is photographed so don’t have any preconceptions of a restaurant style offering. Car park was often busy, but loud and that yellow mustang makes a racket coming and going so look forward to that. Heating in the room is an old style AC unit which is really loud so you can sleep with it on, but it does heat the room quickly in the morning. Look out for the elephants they keep upstairs as their foot steps can be heard day and night (if your in a ground floor room). Plenty of sockets for power and even USB power sockets at the bed, so kudos for that. If you like a motel feel, this place is great - if you like a hotel feel, not so much.

The front desk staff (Ben & Daimler) greeted me with HUGE smiles after a long flight. They offered me a much needed quiet room and even upgraded me to a beautiful suite. Complimentary wine tasting was going on in the lobby with live music. My room was beautiful and very clean. After unpacking, I realized I forgot toothpaste. I went downstairs on my way to dinner and asked the front desk if they had any extras, they brought it to my room along with an extra toothbrush while I was gone (amazing!). Great location. Walkable to so many restaurants. Will definitely stay again.

Extended Weekend visit to the city for pleasure. Mini vacay. 2/10/2020 Breakfast at the Cafe. - Morning shift Cafe hostess/cashier was very competent with a little bit of attitude. Attitude changed when it was tip time. :-) - Food was great 2/10/2020 Evening at the Cafe - Hostess / Cashier was super helpful and pleasant. - Needed to heat up some leftover pizza and she was happy to accommodate by heating up in the toaster over. Waaay better than microwaved. Rooms were very nice. - We were assigned an ADA room - Minimal counter space in the bathroom as a result. All good. - Bed was a bit on the hard side. Sore back after a couple of night. - Room doors slam shut. Would be nice to have anti-slam devices installed. We lived through it. Added a towel to the door when closing and minimized door rattle when neighbor doors were shut and softened the slam when we closed our own door. Overall: Excellent stay with super helpful and cheerful staff. Thank you!

The male staff in the evening shift is very friendly, very patient, always smiling, and the service is very good! It rained outside and I also borrowed an umbrella for me. The room was great, my room was on the top floor, there was a balcony in the room and the bed was very comfortable! The location is very good, just in the city center, to various attractions, shopping and shopping, the surrounding restaurants are very convenient, it should be the best hotel I have ever stayed on this trip! If you have the chance to go to Berlin again, you have to choose this hotel!

From Seattle to Vancouver by car, I chose the Hilton Hotel at the first stop. I thought it was good in China, but I did n’t expect it to be a nightmare. Two large bed rooms were booked at Ctrip, but the front desk gave me an ultra-small room, and beside the elevator, this check-in felt like being next to the runway of an airplane, and I couldn't sleep at all. Negotiating with the hotel was useless. Negotiating with Ctrip. The hotel responded that the room was full and there was no way to change the room. I wonder if the hotel ca n’t sleep in this room?

We made our yearly trek to the Nikko in mid October. Obviously with the pandemic, things were markedly different. Our first clue was landing at Oakland Airport, when we got off the plane it was like a ghost town. BART was less crowded, but there is a bit more riff/raff on the train than normal. When we arrived at the hotel, we entered through the garage, as the front entry was boarded up. Check in was easy as always and we had a wonderful room. They were very much in "Covid prevention" mode with only 2 people (unless same group) in the elevator, everyone was masked up. Rooms were impeccably clean and you let them know when you wanted housekeeping, and you had to be out of the room for them to take care of that. There were very few guests in the hotel and I think we had the whole floor to ourselves. The Imperial Club lounge is closed temporarily, and you could use the workout room for a nominal fee. The restaurant was closed Sun/Mon/Tues and open for dinner the other nights. It was very surreal to be in the restaurant with so few guests, but the food was outstanding as well as the service. Dominique was awesome. They do have a food truck and we were able to sample one of the items and it was also great. We look forward to our visit next year and hopefully the world will be back to a more normal state.

In addition to the price is not cheap, the other are very satisfied, located in the city of San Francisco, near the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco, nearby Japanese restaurants and Japanese supermarkets are very convenient, taste is also very satisfied. The hotel's service attitude, environmental facilities and sanitary conditions are very satisfactory, and the facilities in the room are well equipped. Parking if parking in the downstairs of the hotel is $29 a night. I chose to stop at 8:00 pm on the second side of the street at the intersection above the hotel. There is an additional charge of USD 27 for other services per day.
