|5.65km from city centerI found the Champa Lodge a year ago and have stayed here on every visit to Kampot since - This is my 4th stay! The rooms are comfortable and affordable, the food is good (get the sautéed potatoes!) and there is an excellent selection of Belgian beers. Also, it has the best location on the river - convenient for kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding, and a beautiful view across the river.

|2.22km from city centerThis establishment is entered by a major construction site (with associated terrible noise) and is located right next to a major road over the New Bridge, where continuous heavy traffic (from tuktuks to the largest of trucks) create a constant and infernal noise. The exterior of the hotel looks sad and uninviting, I.e, It needs a huge and important facelift sooner rather than later! The unsmiling receptionist understood little English and spoke even less. There was no-one to assist with our baggage, and there is NO elevator on-site ... this makes an unfriendly “welcome “ even harder to swallow, when the so-called superior view room allocated on the third floor leaves one puffing and panting prior to a quick inspection. Whilst the rooms we saw were spacious enough, the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired (the shower is located virtually above the WC, making for intriguing manoeuvres)...and the decor could well be updated... All photos of this hotel must have been taken a long while ago, and certainly do NOT convey a true idea of the actual situation. That said, I feel I should congratulate the original photographer for his achievements, because even with the most professional and sophisticated equipment no-one could reproduce such results today!!! We decided very quickly to move elsewhere and, thanks to Booking.com, our cancellation charge was waived.

|2.3km from city centerAdam and Mark and his team were truly amazing and came to me and wife's rescue over the new year. We were booked somewhere else which was a dump and we found the B resort where we asked if they could accommodate us on New years eve at short notice. As they were not officially open they were ready to help us out. So the rooms were clean, fresh and done to a high spec. The en suite shower was perfect and the beds so comfy you wanted to sleep all day. The pool was refreshing and sunbeds to relax on. Sadly as they were still working on the resort, we could not get food, but did have the option to buy drinks, which was fine with us. All the staff were helpful and friendly, offering advice on places to see, eat or even to have a drink. The views at night across the water were amazing. This resort is across the bridge from the main centre which is perfect for relaxing with only being a 5 minute walk from everything. This hotel has a great future ahead and the potential is massive once everything is in place, great location, great decor, great facilities and amazing staff. Good luck.

|2.62km from city centerEnjoyed 3 nights in kampots monkey republic. When reading reviews, please check the date. There are a small portion of dated negative reviews and I can honestly confirm we have experienced a great stay. Monkey republic grounds are stunning, the garden is beautiful, calm and relaxing. The restaurant and bar is wonderful, and every single meal has had the plate licked clean. We stayed in a private room, which had both air conditioning AND a ceiling fan, tv, fridge, lockable safe and much more. The ceiling fan is great for drowning out the sometimes slightly louder wildlife (birds) if you are a light sleeper like me. The windows are secure, and have a built in net if you wish to have your window left open. The hostel is located right in the middle of town and is a short walk or moped drive to the beaches. There is even a big supermarket a stones throw away. Excursions and mopeds can be booked with the hotel and laundry is right across the road. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. There is a slight smell in the toilets… I will agree, but this is Cambodia, where, sometimes drainage and sewage is not 5 stars. It’s not a deal breaker, it’s just a simple adjustment you need to accept in the country. The beds are comfortable and ours was clean. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and always happy to serve you. The vibes here are calm, welcoming, safe, peaceful and friendly - with the ability to turn up the pace, pool and darts are available and a huge selection of alcohol and fruit juices/smoothies from the bar. I seen a couple of reviews dissing the atmosphere - but it is absolutely perfect for us because we didn’t want 24/7 loud, crazy, drunk. I would highly recommend this to all groups, and most importantly, we would both definitely stay again! My favourite thing here is all of the monkey pictures and the cooked breakfast!

The room itself is modern and clean with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The breakfasts are a true delight and rate as one of the best we have had at a hotel during our travels. But the true gem of Hotel Five.S is the GM Mr. Kosal and his fantastic team in front of house and back. You guys rock.

The hotel has a one-day tour booking service, and you can also take a tutu to the pepper garden for $ 25. Help to book long-distance buses or taxis to other cities at reasonable prices.

Cool AC. Minus points- flush had a problem - weak & I had to seek help from the staff, mosquitos and bugs in room( someone commented that there were more mosquitoes in the rooms than outside- bring lots of spray!) , noise at late hours of the night - the building is more of a bar/ diner - so guests go up late at night and you can hear noise in the rooms downstairs)- no checkin / reception area or any amenities/ facilities whatsoever. In room Safe is complicated to operate.It”s more of a well run B & B. Not for me , but with I know of Kampot , it may be the best guest lodgings in the entire area. Rooms are booked at the speed of light as there are only 12 rooms or less, so you are forewarned- book in advance .

|2.74km from city centerI stayed at this hotel for several days in November. I was impressed with the room which was really big and had two queen beds in it. The bathroom was large too. Everything was pretty new. I was told the hotel first opened in 2020 but shut down thereafter due to Covid. It reopened around the middle of 2022. It has a fairly big lobby where a breakfast buffet is served in the morning.. it also has a coffee bar off in one corner which is where you want to get your coffee. They charge for it but we’re talking $1.50 for most espresso drinks. Coffee offered in the buffet is the Nescafé type. Skip that stuff. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. They are very willing to help you with transportation, tours, etc. The location of the hotel is ideal and is situated very close to the durian roundabout. You can pretty much walk anywhere you need to go in town. At night, it’s lit up and is easily spotted as the building has six stories. There aren’t many that tall in kampot. Internet is quite good which surprised me. Only negative about the place is the room safe. It’s not bolted down and could easily be carried off. But overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay there again if in Kampot

It's literally my first birthday celebration with my husband and it was horrible because we keep getting interruptions from the hotel staff. We got an incessant knock on our door TWICE during ONE day we stay there. The first time was due to their incompetent lack of preparation. They didn't prepare a spot for our car park even if we book the room one week in advance and when there are other cars coming they ask us to change our parking spot. The second time was a mistake, they thought they were knocking on another guest that they need something from. It ruined the mood and I feel like I have no peace or privacy. I will never go back and every single person going to visit Kampot I will tell them to never ever go to Phka Kravan Boutique.

Cocktails on the deck on the river is a must. A quick 5 minute tuk tuk drive gets you into town. The owner is helpful, chatty and very interesting. Louis and Lady are the cute hotel dogs. A great place for couples of families.

The hotel itself was very modern and very clean. The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed. The rooftop pool any cafe in was an oasis in the city that I thoroughly enjoyed and it’s one of the best I’ve stayed in for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend and I will definitely stay again when I return to kampot.

|1km from city centerWe ended up staying 3 months at this place with a pool side view. We enjoy the jaccuzzi every after work. We played table tennis and billiards every afternoon. This place is perfect. You can meet locals and expats beacuse they have events almost every night. You will enjoy the sense of community here enjoying movie nights. The best part of this place is the swimming pool, a must visit / try. The room is very decent we had the fan room, because of the very good ventilation and a lot of trees around the place is cool in temperature, AC is not needed. The bathroom is big, a bit old but decent. They have cleaning service its up to you wanted to pay extra or clean the room by your self. We always eneded up cleaning again perhaps our standard of cleanliness is different. The old lady(cleaner) seems like she just change linens but not throughly clean the entire room, younger lady (cleaner) cleans our room perfectly we are always happy when she does our room. She cleans the fan, sweep everthing and the room always smells good. This is place approx. 6.5 km from Kampot centre but it was totally OK. Motorbike rent was just $50 a month renting it from the centre. Lisa, Salim, Toy and Skelly are very helpful and friendly, you will enjoy staying at this place. 100% recommended. The restuarant sells Kambucha which is the best in town and the food here is great with a very reasonable price. The wifi is good too, you can have a decent zoom meeting with the wifi connection. The the staff listens to your concerns and suggestions, the manager is awesome and friendly. We will definitely come back here.

|1.81km from city centerThis is a new guesthouse which has only been open 8 months and I would highly recommend it. The location is perfect- a short walk across the bridge from town but in a much more peaceful and pleasant area. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless and spacious and is cleaned daily on request. Breakfast is included and was generally good though the plain pancake and fried potatoes was a bit of a bizarre combination- I’d stick to the other options- fried rice and all the egg options were great. My only minor criticism is that the bathroom is on the small side but there was reliable hot water which is the main thing! I would also avoid booking any trips/transport from the hotel’s recommended tour company as they gave us false information about the boat transfer from Sinhoukville.

Small compex ( In high rise you spend all day waiting for elevators!!!) ,with great attention to detail about everything in th hotel! Once again quiet location , so no traffic noise etc.!
The staff where excellent in every thing. If you have a car or motor bike ,then the location isn't as big an issue ,but without that ,you have to use a tuk tuk all the time to go any where.
Would stay again , but would have a motor bike on hand next time!

The room was okay, a bit frayed at the edges, some stubborn stains on sheets etc. air con worked ok, but no fridge or kettle. Walls were thin- had to ask next door room to turn TV down and there was quite a lot of noise around 6am on Sunday morning as late night drinkers came back. Shower was okay with warm water and good pressure. Owners are friendly and the husband speaks good English. Rented us a scooter for $5. It’s a block back from the river and 15 mins walk to bars and restaurants. We stayed for 2 nights and were happy enough with the room.

|2.3km from city centerI stayed for three nights in a Queen Deluxe on the first floor. I was on my own and a little unwell on two of of those days. I had the most fantastic support and service from Thavy, the manageress and her team. In addition Thavy recommended what dishes to choose for dinner at a nearby restaurant and I had an excellent meal. She recommended a day trip to La Plantation which was perfect. These are the things I loved about this hotel: 1. The street outside is quiet 2. The bed and cushions are very comfortable and the cleaning is unobtrusive. 3. The room and the communal areas give a restful atmosphere. 4. The air conditioning system is not noisy. 5. The breakfast is gorgeous - I had crepes one day and cereal two days. I drank cold coffee with condensed milk so cannot comment on the coffee generally. 6. The location is excellent, so easy to walk to numerous places to eat and explore. 7. Being met outside the door on returning to the hotel at night and Thavy waving farewell as guests left

|4.1km from city centerThe hotel looks nice but a little bit dusty, our room also looks nice but it was full of mosquitoes which is super annoying, we had to use mosquitoes spray to totally cover ourselves all the time and be careful with the door to bathroom since bathroom is an open space with only half of the ceiling. But still we got beaten up a lot. The curtains were super dirty covered with dead insects, the AC was not too functional but they put this AC blows right on the bed which made me and and my boyfriend both sick after the tour. And the rooms are not private enough, the description says swimming pool view, but actually the swimming pool just 5 meters in front our room. Overall I like the design of the rooms but there are many details were not satisfying, especially with the price, it could be the most expensive hotel I have tried in Cambodia, but experience was seriously so so.

|2.5km from city centerThis is a really special gem, like a little oasis in Kampot. The whole experience of Hotel Old Cinema is delightful. The rooms and decor (eclectic, but predominantly art deco) are beautiful yet still retain a warm comfortable feel. The beds are amazingly comfortable, my room had an attached balcony, with plants and greenery every which way. (I think every room has a balcony). The rooms are cool to escape hot Cambodian days, with excellent airconiditioning. There is a bar and restaurant, serving interesting cocktails and food, wine and craft beer, with vegetarian and vegan options. You can sit at a large bar and enjoy talking with other guests or sit beside the pool. The pool is another beautiful area, to take a plunge and cool down at the end of the day. And the breakfasts are awesome with a choice of styles (once again catering to vegetarian), khmer options or European style served with hot coffee and juice. The best part of the experience is the owners Bas and Pauline and their team. They are are welcoming and warm hosts. Could not recommend a place I have stayed in Cambodia more highly.

I must give him a compliment! Let's talk about the hotel, this price has given me a surprise, our room is on the top floor, the room facilities are general, but very clean! I have set a total of two rooms, but the two rooms are not the same size, the one inside is very good, the other is generally the same. Because it is the top floor, there is a big terrace, and it is really beautiful to enjoy the sunrise and sunset here. The location of the hotel is not far from the river, and it takes about three or four minutes to walk. It is also very close to the Jackfruit Square, and it is almost five minutes to walk. It is very convenient. It is very quiet because it is not on the main road. My room is for breakfast. If you want to eat, you will pay $2.50 per person.

|2.12km from city centerThe hotel is located a 15 min walk to the town centre, which is good if you want somewhere a bit quieter in with a more local feeling. After a couple of days we started to use the hotel bicycles... a lovely way to travel around town. We paid a little more and booked a larger downstairs room, which was spacious and light. When we tried to exend our stay we had to move to an upstairs room, the one with windows facing a concrete wall. this room felt cramped and windowless. The staff were very kind and helpful, which really helped make us feel at home. The only downside is there is no pool.

|2.71km from city centerWe stayed here for two nights on a tour. Room was large with a room with a balcony that overlooked the town and you could see the river around the corner too. The bathroom was nice, large walk in shower with good water pressure. Room was clean, no sign of mosquitos or any other bugs. Toiletries to use. There was a breakfast buffet with eastern food and another breakfast room on the ground floor where you could choose off a ticket menu thing (you get the yellow tickets from reception I think), we had pancakes and honey which were nice. There is also a mini market on the same floor which has toiletries, snacks and water. Reception were helpful in getting us extra toilet rolls etc. There are two lifts which work fine. Location is good too and a short walk to markets, restaurants and the river. Would stay here again.
