The hotel facilities are relatively new and there is free parking. The only drawback is that the room is a bit small. Breakfast is quite rich, with hot things to eat, such as scrambled eggs, sausages, potato pancakes, etc.

This is my second stay at the Cambridge Belfry and I am here for 3 nights. I was apprehensive about returning, given the nature of the reviews but I have to say - they do seem harsh! And I consider myself hard to please. On arrival I was informed that a generator had broken and thus my original, booked room was unavailable. The hotel went above and beyond, and have allocated me a penthouse suite. This is something I would never be able to afford normally and it’s just lovely. So thank you 🙏🏻 I was disappointed to see the pool/sauna/steam was unavailable for use on the 7th. I’m hopeful this is a one evening thing as it’s one of the main reasons I booked the hotel, but it seems they are doing maintenance that has been highlighted as an issue so you can’t have it both ways! Special thanks to the receptionist who dealt with my silly questions over the water in the mini fridge (you’ll know who you are!) and the waitress who took my room service order without laughing at me apologising for not coming to the restaurant. Both lovely. Some of the staff I’ve found are just plain miserable, which is a shame. Especially on reception. Only criticism. No orange juice for breakfast, and I do like a glass of orange juice in the morning. And the posh Nespresso machine in the room, I know it’s not exactly a problem to have but you’ve got to put some instructions with it. Have given up with the thing! I’ll be a returning guest. The hotel is a very beautiful manor in the suburbs about 10km from Cambridge. There should be cows and sheep on the grassland in summer. I was attracted by other people's beautiful pictures when I made the reservation. After I checked in, I found it was really good, but I had to drive by myself and check in for free. The room was remodeled from the original dormitory, not quite but adequate, no air conditioning, slightly colder, breakfast quality is good, the environment is first-rate, it is recommended

Firstly, I have to say, some of the reviews here are a poor reflection on what actually is offered. The hotel and gardens itself is stunningly beautiful, and the rooms although small are gorgeously decorated and have most things you would need in them, including a fan. You have to realise this is a very old building, so it will have its charms (for example, not all windows will open in the older part of the house) but overall, the beauty of the rooms outweigh these small details, and the rooms are thoughtful and homely. Alison runs a ”dry venue” so she will make sure everything runs to plan, but really it is up to you to make sure the day runs as it should. They don't have facility to offer you a bar/restaurant - however what they do offer is very well executed. They are pretty hands off, which is fine, I just asked permission for what I needed, briefed everyone thoroughly and the day went without a hitch. I personally couldn't have been happier. Check-in is from 1500 which is stated when you book the room, which for the majority of people who came to our wedding was fine, it is contactless, no issue there as far as I'm concerned. The bridal suite isn't available until 11am - which in my case was fine. I paid for another room in which to get ready and leave my dress etc the day before which saved a scramble on the day. It was only up the corridor from the bridal suite and I only took what I needed. The caterer RF recommend - CDC are absolutely flawless, and our food and drinks service was absolutely outstanding. Sam who was put in charge of running our day, and Ellena who looked after us in the lead up were absolutely fantastic. The food was tasty, hot, and plentiful, we opted for buffet style and I can't find a single guest who had anything negative to say about the entire day. I hired a company to decorate and pack down my marquee the next day - and someone to deliver my wine (a man in a van) which was a godsend as again, no faff! Without the help of these companies you would end up doing it yourself, and in the terms of the contract you do have to vacate the marquee by 10am so do bear this in mind. I think considering my wedding isn't the only one this year (shocking, I know) that was absolutely fair enough, and these times were easily achievable by my team. CDC cleared everything to the side - bless them, and Roger locked the marquee overnight so everything was easily packed into our car the next day and safe. Breakfast did change in the time between booking and getting married, but the English charm of the self boiled eggs, the portmerion dishes and the little pots of tea and toast was adorable and not far away from what I would have wanted had I been at home. Her staff (I'm so sorry I can't recall names) were friendly, polite and the lady doing breakfast was a total sweetheart. Just an overnight stay but due to the distance from the Corn Exchange we were not planning to return after our mooch around Cambridge during the day. The staff at this hotel were exceptional in their willingness to help us with an early check in avoiding found this at midnight. The restaurant is currently being refurbished but it caused no issue. Staff here were attentive and courteous and food was of the usual great standard. Prices at Premier Inn seem to be at a premium when a well known band is playing but I still consider it good value for money. I personally enjoy knowing exactly what the room will look like and being confident of the cleanliness standards, especially as it’s basically just a stopover.

Right next to the train station, since we have a lot of luggage, zero-distance check-in is still a good choice. Although there are railway tracks outside the window, the sound insulation is very good and has no effect at all. There is a bus at the entrance of the hotel that can go directly to the center of Cambridge, making travel more convenient. There is a restaurant downstairs in the hotel, there is a costa in the station, and there are no other commercial facilities around. The room is more comfortable and the price is good.

Starting with their location, its quite far from Cambridge Station. From Cambridge Station to hotel: by walk is around 22 mins, by bus is 19-22 mins (£2.80 Adult). From Cambridge City Centre to hotel: by walk is around 27 mins, by bus is 15-19 mins (£1.50 Adult - Elizabeth Way Stop, £1.80 Adult - Newmarket Road stop) Their sevices are ok, friendly and respectful. But no smile, as in poker face. Cleanliness is on point. Absolutely clean and spotless. Very comfortable. As for amenities, they provide all-in-one wash which is bodywash + shampoo in one container fixed firmly on the wall. No bar soap.

To be fair to the hotel, everything was clean, the breakfast was a cheap continental type, cereal, toast etc. My son booked the hotel based on it's low price. It rooms did have the appearance of a ”second hand furniture and bedding store”. The staff were pleasant but not easy to get hold of. You could make yourself tea or coffee in the dinning area at anytime. But like most of the reviews it appeared to be more of a hostel than a hotel, and was a definite, clean basic but certainly cheap no frills affair.

Like a small apartment, the bathroom, laundry room, and dining room are separated. There is milk, juice and butter in the refrigerator, and you can cook your own meals. There are also bread, jam and oatmeal. They are all fresh dates, great! ! !

I stayed here a couple of nights within a week, Monday night and Thurs night whilst my sister was there for a week visiting my nephew in the nearby Addenbrooks hospital. Free parking is available at the back of the hotel and we caught the bus near Co-Op (approx 10 min walk, but we chose that bus stop for steps) The staff were absolutely wonderful. Really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I can't thank them enough for looking after my sister whilst she was there. The rooms were lovely and cosy. The first room I stayed in was a twin room with my Mum. The second room was a double by myself. The twin room was really spacious with 2 massive beds, lovely bathroom with bath and double sink. Double room was great, smelt a little overwhelmingly of fresh paint, but it was fresh, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Excellent selection of continental and hot English buffet. Juices, coffee, tea and milk. If you came away from breakfast hungry then you are far too fussy!! It was beautifully laid out and there was something for everyone. We had a meal in the restaurant. Was a little pricey but I guess if you want quality you get what you pay for ...... beautiful food!! Recommend this hotel 100%

We stayed at Holiday Inn for 2 nights between May 30 - June 1 2023. Overall the hotel was great and we had a pleasant stay, we had planned to visit the town center and look at the history of Cambridge thus the location was important to us. It was only a short drive (5 mins) to the centre where we could go punting, shopping and to the universities, museums and gardens. We included breakfast in our stay, which I would highly recommend there was a great selection of foods and the pancake machine was a huge win for us. The only thing we were disappointed with was the fact that dressing robes and waters which are usually complimentary in other hotels we have visited, were not included in the room for free and when we asked we were told we could drink the water from the bathroom, which was not pleasant but other factors such as the fact our room was cleaned regularly and the amazing breakfast did make up for this.

Travelodge wouldn’t have been a bad memory except for TRIP that made it a horrible one for me , I definitely sure this would be my last dealing with them. Here is my ordeal with Travelodge and TRIP.com, on arriving the hotel I discovered the hotel has no air conditioning and it was terribly hot in London, I immediately notified the hotel of my intention to check out which they agreed to and are willing to give me a refund , unfortunately the TRIP customer service kept going round and round with the situation inorder for them to make me finish my stay at the hotel even with the fact that I complained it wasn’t comfortable, to be honest the hotel did their best to ensure I get my refund but trip messed everything up, there was practically nothing they didn’t do to make sure I didn’t check out even when someone from the hotel spoke with them about their willingness to give me a refund this is the hotel Ass. Manager ( Mrs Gosia) . I had a very terrible experience with trip and it is definitely going to be my last . I couldn’t sleep most of the night because of the terrible heat at night thanks to trip. 😞

Staff were very helpful on multiple occasions. First, we had to change our booking owing to the heatwave, and while Booking.com failed us in this regard, a quick phone call to Alex, the receptionist, got us all sorted. Secondly, the staff were very generous with provided fans, offering as many as we'd like, and thirdly when we had to use ”Send my Bag.com” to get some suitcases back home, they handled everything on their end perfectly and without charge. The hotel itself has some nice old interior decor, and the continental breakfast was very generous. Location was also a big plus, as it is difficult to find anywhere closer to the old university town. One small gripe would be that the en suite had a few minor spots missed in its cleaning, though the room itself was spotless.

Given the £150 a night pricing and established brand name, I was unhappy to spend a combined 5 hours queuing to speak to front desk RE a pre-booking query - when they finally answered after 90 minutes wait on my 5th attempt I was immediately hung up on. I booked the ”more with your stay” option which includes parking and nothing more. Further issues occurred at check-in when they attempted to charge me £15 for parking anyway. I explained that this wasn't correct, showing them my booking confirmation and explaining that parking was included as I had confirmed pre-booking. Despite confirming that I wouldn't be charged, I was still subsequently charged £15 necessitating a further call back from myself to resolve. The stay itself was comfortable, the hotel, rooms and facilities are nice and fairly well cleaned.

A bit fussy. Hotel open only on weekends, 17 rooms total. Victorian house on a busy road, but there was no road noise. Park behind the hotel. Can leave the car in their car park after you check out. Wi-Fi works near the reception and in the basement breakfast room, but not in the guest rooms. Relatively costly. Some rooms are accessed by entering the front door, going down to the basement, and up again. Tip: you can exit through the back door to the parking lot but cannot come back the same way. Still if someone holds the door open for you, it is the easiest way to get luggage from the car to the hotel. This was not mentioned at check-in, and we carried our bags up and down many stairs! Good sized rooms, tasty full English breakfast, also some yogurt and fruits. When I tried to lift the sash window, it came out in my hands. Fortunately, I didn’t drop it on my foot. About 15 mins walk to the town, either along the main road or along the river.

The location is excellent which is at the city centre. The Grand shopping arcade is next to the hotel. Very convenient to the travelers. The hotel is at the city centre which walk 10 minutes can reach most of the important sites. However, the hotel forget to arrange housekeeping for my two rooms for one night. When I come back to hotel after whole day visit, I was surprise by the untidy room. I tried to call house keeping but the line is busy. I go down to the concierge but they could not help. They just said to make sure housekeeping will be arranged tomorrow. I was so disappointed. Moreover, I have requested laundry services on two consecutive night. The concierge said that both laundry can return to me after two day in one go. After two days, I asked the hotel to give back my laundry. They can only give back one pack of laundry. After my repeated complaint, they finally find out my second pack of laundry bag. Their service is quite disappointing.

The location is very good, directly opposite Starbucks, there are several Chinese restaurants on the street, go out for food without worry. It is also convenient to walk to the scenic spot. The entrance to the door is quaint, with a sense of nostalgia.

The room is clean and tidy when we checked in, they use white company shower products and also provide bedroom slippers which is great for hygiene. We did experience some poor customer service experience as we arrived around midnight and there’s no service staffs at the front desks and we had to knock on the glass door to seek attention. Then the reception staffs got confused with the room booking and assigned two same rooms to us. Then they asked us to insert card and pay again for the prepay hotel. I had to clarify and then also informed them about the breakfasts for next two days had been paid. On the next day they asked again and on our last day they still didn’t have our records about the breakfasts again and all the staffs did was to blame that it’s systems glitch. Even on our last day they still said there’s no records of breakfasts paid. Overall the room quality is pretty good, the cleaning of the room could be better as we still see hair on the bed after it was cleaned on the 2nd night. There’s also some issue with the bathroom door for one of our rooms, and the staffs fixed that timely. It’s mainly the front service staffs that were not very professional and seems like they haven’t been updating the systems records well or getting the systems fixed so that all these could be prevented.
