This hotel takes up an entire city block. The sitting areas in the huge lobby are beautiful. We had avery nice meal at the on site Wolfgang Puck Restaurant and a reasonably priced breakfast at another of his eateries. Our king bedded room was adequate but not spacious, while the bathroom was small and lacking in space for toiletries. The hotel is located near the Ford Presidential Museum, which was very convenient.

This is beautiful Hotel located on beautiful location. Rooms are beautiful and walkable from the River, On the opposite street is a Grand Rapids one of the oldest building and it’s beautiful. There was a little miscommunication during our check-in. We were told that breakfast timing is from 7-10am but when we reached for breakfast at 9:10, they were already closing and cleaning restaurant. There were around 5-7 families who came after 9 for breakfast. But restaurant gave bread, fruits, butter, Jams, Coffee so we had breakfast. Other than everything was perfect.

The pool is tiny unlike the pictures. There were not enough towels in the room (said they would send up and never did) and amenities like shampoo were minuscule. Then we could not get into our room due to low battery. We waited in the hallway for 10 minutes after the front desk cleared this up until a very nice maintenance man fixed it up. Breakfast is not included. The hook on the bathroom door was broken and hanging by a thread. The air conditioner blasts directly onto your bed. The bathroom is very very small. There’s no Kleenex and insufficient toilet paper. I don’t usually hate on places but for what we paid - exceeding even prices in CA - it was sad. Two stars for nice shuttle service and nice service at the bar. Do not stay here if you can help it.

If there is one consistent complaint I have about many hotel rooms is that there are not enough electrical outlets (or they are poorly located) and that there is only one mirror - in the bathroom an often steamed up! I was astounded that City Flats had multiple outlets in both bathroom, sleeping areas (we have 2 CPAP machines) and the desk area. Great shower. Loved the untypical arrangement of the 2 full size beds - it was almost as there were 2 separate bedrooms. Hotel was super-quiet during our two night stay, Very short walk to VanAndel Arena as well as a multitude of restaurants & bars. The only negative we found was the parking deck around the corner and the difficulty of unloading luggage/checking in before parking car. Our view was an exposed brick wall, but in the end did not matter as it kept the room super dark allowing us to easily sleep in after a fun night in Grand Rapids!

Hotel was good for going to a concert. Pool and hot tub had decent hours. Only complaint was not having coffee or towels re-stocked in the room. The walls were also a bit thin; could hear conversations in the hallway clearly and didn’t feel there was much privacy to be had in the bathroom

I was very impressed with this hotel! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The lobby area was beautiful with tile and wood and a pretty gas fireplace. The bedrooms are so spacious and clean. And the bed was really comfortable. Overall we just loved our stay and would definitely recommend to others. The room rate was really great as well!

We stay in many Hilton properties as HH diamond members. This Hilton Garden Inn is one of the BEST we have found. Check-in was fast and flawless. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast was excellent - fresh, tasty, plentiful and the service was great. We could not have asked for more. This hotel is in a good location and has been updated. The rooms are a decent size and very clean. So why the low review? The elevator is out. That doesn't bother me too much, but it didn't look like anything was being done about. And it leads to the next problem. I was getting three rooms, with one being a handicap accessible room. What floor did they put the accessible room on? The second. See note about not having an elevator above. They did eventually move this room to the first floor. The bathroom light in our room went out, and when I reported it to the front desk the worker looked at me with a look like, ”What do you want me to do about it?” She did inform me that no one would be in to fix things like this for three days. The breakfast was not very expansive or high quality. Which is fine, but they also ran out of half of the items on all three mornings we stayed. We ended up grabbing fast food breakfasts two of the days. Even with all this, I would stay here again if nothing else was available. But I would keep my expectations low and realize that it is a clean hotel with poor service and that I should make other plans for breakfast.

I personally think it is a very good hotel. Although it feels a bit old, all the environment inside is quite good. And very close to the airport, call UBER, about 10 minutes. And there are many shopping malls nearby. It is also very convenient to eat and eat. It is also very convenient to call a car to the city or nearby sightseeing spots.

We stayed here after a holiday party that was at the Courtyard Marriott. I have the Bonvoy app and checking in was a breeze and I love the keyless key - where your phone is the key. The room was on the 4th floor overlooking the parking ramp with a half view of the river. Since we are from GR, this didn't bother me, especially because we were not in the room except to sleep. Room is smaller than a normal hotel room but sufficient and nice, it was updated but still shows remnants of the old decor/ style. The bathroom is small, outdated and the shower is not well planned, you have to step into the shower to turn it on and you get blasted with cold water before you can move - multiple people said this that stayed there. However, the room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. We had no complaints for noise or the heat. Getting to our room was almost like going through a maze. The elevator was on the other side of the hotel from our room and we had to walk quite a ways to get there. Lobby is clean and bright, hotel has a bar / restaurant, parking on premise or next door, and close to everything downtown. I would recommend people to stay here, better price point than some of the more ritzy hotels.

My colleague and I arrived late in the evening after attending a work event. When I received my room key, the lock on my door did not work. I went to the front desk and the associate working, who had airpods in their ears, gave me attitude about how I probably didn't use the key correctly instead of solving the problem right away. They then were unable to find a new battery pack for the door so they moved me into a different room. When I checked out of the hotel, I was unaware that I needed to stop at the front desk to receive a receipt. Every other time I have stayed at a hotel, I receive an email with my receipt and don't have to retrieve it from the front desk. I called a few later to get a copy of my receipt sent to my email and the associate was very rude on the phone and said ”Well no wonder you didn't get a receipt since you didn't come and get one. That's on you.” I am not one to complain but the attitude I received from now two employees at this hotel made me angry. I will not stay at this hotel ever again for business as I do not deserve to be treated with disrespect when I have not done anything to deserve being treated that way in the first place.

I want to start with the positives: Sales staff are GREAT. Front desk personnel are VERY helpful. Close to 28th Street where there's loads of restaurants and shopping. The A/C unit kept the room comfortable. The mattress and pillows were decent. The restaurant menu was good and our bartender was on the ball with our large group. Our meeting space was a good size. Our banquet meal was very good and plentiful. Now for the not-so-positives in no particular order: the baseboards in the bathroom were covered with dust and hair. The shower floor sloped in the wrong direction and pooled up where you step in. Our room carpet smelled like feet and y'all know exactly what that smells like! The lobby seating was FILTHY, STAINED and broke down. Breakfast was the same thing everyday, no variation. It is my opinion that it was not cooked on-site but was pre-cooked and reheated.

When I arrived to check in, I was told that my reservation had been changed to double Queen instead of the king suite I had wanted. The receptionist at the front was apologetic and offered a discount. I am rating this poor because I would have appreciated a phone call previous to this change. That would have given me the opportunity to cancel and find a different place. Also, when I asked to speak to the manager that told the receptionist to make the change, the manager didn’t work in the weekend. I took the discount and the room. Luckily, I am only spending one night. This is just a place to rest my head for tonight. I will remember this experience and not book a room through this hotel again. Obviously, reservations do not matter.

Zero stars across the board. Started off feeling like a scam paying a higher price on the right side of the counter under the wydham sign, than on the left side of the counter under Days Inn sign. The clerk was so freaked out about the ”situation” in the pool he could barely function and he was the only one there with a line of like 7 people. Finally got a room but who needs a room key when your door is already open. I didnt find a dead body in my room, just the stale smell of cigarettes wafting throughout the entire property. Or was that the mold smell, hard to pinpoint. Outrageously priced for what was offered. Divorcing Wyndham hotel stays after this one.
