The price is good for what you get, but it's not an excuse for the things I encountered. In the bedroom on the top bunk there was a huge spider that had nested there.....the shower had some type of decorations full of mold....the hallway rug seemed to have been flooded...and then dried off and not replaced....so it had huge spots of water marks that were disgusting and ugly to the eye. I have stayed in this chain before and the check in and out was fabulous. All by yourself with a computer. Now they make you go to the nearby Kyriad desk to check in and out....which I though was incovenient.

Place is quiet old but in good condition, near the highway A9 but not noisy for that. Inside yes if people are noisy you can ear everything, doors are smashing hard too. Breakfast really just but enough for starting the day. Bathroom really small, impossible to take shower with closed doors, so water everywhere after, if not you can't move inside if you are more 1m70 and strong body.

We have used Campaniles for many years and always felt that they provided very good value for money. Invariably bright clean and cheerful. Sadly this was not our experience at Perpignan Nord ! On viewing the exterior we began to have doubts but received a warm welcome so cheered up a bit, however the corridor to our room was dimly lit as was the room itself, we would have happily paid another euro towards the cost of running brighter light bulbs! The 2 large chips in the bath enamel didn't help ! The biggest disappointment however was the restaurant ! It was the most dismal room. We wondered why we were the only guests at 7.30pm ! The young lady( the receptionist ) who took our order was fine, in fact very helpful but things went downhill when, having both ordered the same mains, were told that there was in fact only one portion left ! The food was not very good and we both left a large amount. Only one other guest came in as we ate and he only had the starter buffet and left ! Breakfast was no better, we discovered that we were expected to set our own tables which turned out to be no bad thing as we had the opportunity to sort out some clean cutlery! Some, particularly knives, were encrusted, apparently having been removed from the dishwasher en-masse and dumped back out in the restaurant without check. One of the joys of French breakfast is the wonderful fresh bread, not this time ! Rather like our dinner experience, during our breakfast ( 8.00am ) only one family came in, did others know something we didn't ? All in all, a disappointment and a dilemma ! With all the other budget hotels to choose from will we ever take a chance with Campanile again ? Hope so !

A great quiet little hotel in the centre of the old part of town. Basic but clean and comfortable. Great value for money. It is no swanky but tickets all the boxes for us: Very clean, comfortable, quiet, plenty of hot water and powerful shower. All for under €60! An absolute bargain. On top of this the couple who run it are utterly charming. The church bells stop at 10pm but if you are planning a long and leisurely lie it they awake with a vengeance at 7am! On the downside, public parking was a little bit away.

We stayed at this beautifully done bed and breakfast for the night as we had wanted to have dinner at the beach nearby. Beautifully decorated rooms and the owner was very nice and welcoming. Comfortable bed and great bathroom. I’d give the place 5 stars but breakfast was a bit of a let down. Only bread, fruit and yogurt available. I think some meat, cheese and croissants should have been added and possibly some eggs. I would definitely recommend staying here though. Very peaceful.

Readers of my reviews will be aware that I regularly criticise, the cramped size of Ibis hotel rooms and bathrooms, and Accor's failure to install shelving which would aleviate the space problem, especially in the bathroom. I have repeatedly expressed the opinion that Ibis rooms are not suitable for double occupancy, unless you are sharing 1 suitcase. The Ibis Rouge at Perpignan Nord, is a different matter, because it was carved out of the adjacent Novotel, when Accor wanted to offer a lower cost option. As a result, the rooms and bathrooms are exactly the same size that you would expect in a standard Novote room. On this visit, I chose the Ibis, because I was travelling single, and local hotel rates were on the high side due to seasonal demand, so getting a room, that (for Ibis Rouge), was oversized, was a pleasant surprise. By choosing this Ibis (as opposed to the adjacent Novotel), what you will not get is:- room service, in room tea and coffee facilities, refrigerator/minibar, and the choice of TV channels might be more restricted, but I cannot verify this. However, you do have access to the same pool, and you can, if you wish, use the Novotel bar and restaurant. Ibis Rouge serves snacks 24/7. Although there is no-one on the Ibis reception at night, the Novotel reception provides cover. So this particular Ibis, is a good deal. Depending on the price discount to the adjacent Novotel, I will probably stay here again.
