I've stayed here a few weeks now and the rooms are clean, good showers, very basic with no kettle or tea/ coffee making facilities in the rooms....But, the service is great, the young lady called Mags on the desk is very helpful even with all the complications I've given her to deal with from my bookings she always solves any issues with a smile, great asset to the company.

The rooms are not the biggest but they are well maintained and we had a separate WC from the bathroom (which is always a bonus). Unfortunately, there was no hand-washing facility in the WC so you had to use the bathroom to wash your hands. Other than that very minor gripe, the room are very comfortable, well stocked and with a hairdryer wired near to a mirror. There are built-in USB charging ports in the electrical sockets and the decor was excellent. I would well recommend this hotel who serve a great breakfast buffet and whose staff are polite, helpful and friendly...

Stayed at the hotel 25th April for one night. We arrived early and was warmly welcomed, with the offer of having our bags taken to the smile at reception, it had a good feel to the place within our first 5 minutes. At reception there was the offer of upgrading which we jumped at and took the copper room . Wow, wow, wow……..the sun was out and streamed into the room through the doors that overlooked the harbour. Quality fittings, decoration , good coffee and toiletries in the room were top notch. We had the doors open most of the night and although you could hear outside it wasn’t intrusive one bit. We didn’t dine at the hotel so can’t comment on that. Upon checkout I asked to view the penthouse and we were gladly shown around by the very helpful young lady at reception. Overall this was one of the best hotel experiences we have had in our years of travelling. Have nothing negative to say about the Salthouse at all. We had a beautiful room, great weather all complimented by good professionalism staff. 10/10

Couldn’t be happier with the service I received and condition of the room upon my unannounced arrival! The gentleman at reception was very friendly, professional and accommodating, (Haroon I think his name was?) I turned up on the off chance they had a spare room, I was very lucky! The room was spacious, clean, and the building was quiet and peaceful. Will definitely stay again when in the area, was a real pleasure and an absolute bargain price. Get the best of both worlds at the Premier Inn Hotel Ipswich South: thrills and spills by day, peace and quiet by night. Set just off the A14, you're in prime position for exploring Suffolk. And, if you're here on work, we're near to local businesses too. You could feed the animals at Jimmy's Farm or fill up on romance at Wolverstone Hall. Then step out on the town in Ipswich. And, if it's the right time of year, don't miss the World Hot Rod Championships and banger racing at Foxhall Stadium. After a (quite literally) smashing day, return and recharge in our tasty restaurant and comfy beds.

We stayed at this Hotel as we were arriving for a surprise afternoon tea the following day. Due to the A12 being closed we arrived late, and we had made an error in our booking and booked a twin room instead of a double. The lovely receptionist did change our room to a double which was lovely. The disabled car parking was hard to stablish and there were none very close to the door was a small niggle but parking was not miles away. The room consisted of a bath and a shower which was a bonus but the shower head you had to hold to have a shower. The room was very comfortable and clean and had a lovely big tv which makes a change in a hotel not having to squint even with glasses. The hotel was over a couple of different levels consisting of just a few stairs, to which they had stenna style stairlifts for customers, which I thought was a very good idea. The breakfast was lovely however they did run out of brown bread very quickly and it was not refreshed, I wish there was more cold options like coussaints available, except high sugared cereal and a full cooked. We were not due to have the afternoon tea until 3pm so thought we could use the leasure facilities but were disappointed as we were only allowed to use the spa facilities till check out, which is not usual in all the other spa hotel we have booked in to. Having said that as we arrived as they were closing we were given and extra hour in the morning until 12. The spa facilities again lovely but you are supposed to have shower after the steaming sauna but in order to do that you have to go back into the changing rooms and back out?? The showers in the changing rooms had a lovey big square head and a small body shower but no one could figure out how to get the big head to work no matter what you did, think they were just for decoration, and there no secure places for you valuables I think you were supposed to of brought your own padlock?. Overall even with small niggles a very pleasant stay, and wold stay again.

Upon arrival there was some confusion regarding booking in by the reception staff member but this was sorted out by a supervisor. The room was more than adequate and was clean and bright. However, the TV did not work so i reported this to reception and again this was sorted out very quickly by a staff member. I would like to give a special thank you and mention to a wonderful young staff member by the name of Toby who perservered with sorting out the TV issue for us to the point where he brought 4 different TVs and remote controls to rectify it - he was amazing. Also we were given a free drink with our evening meal as an apology for the booking in problem we had experienced earlier that day. I would definitely stay here again

We have stayed here a couple of times now as we visit family in the area. It is a good location as it is at the right end of town for us. We usually have either an executive room or a suite. Both sound grander than they are but they are more than adequate for our needs. The suite is very spacious. Like many before me have said the hotel is dated. To be honest if they would just replace all of the windows it would make a massive difference. Both rooms we have stayed in have modern bathrooms, which also really helps. Despite the rooms being dated they are clean, tidy and well presented. The floors in the room and around the hotel always seem clean. Any staff we encouter have been friendly. It is obvious it has had no invesment for a while, other than the bathrooms, so the price they charge is appropriate for what they offer. We have never eaten an evening meal here, but we always enjoy the breakfasts, so have been surprised to read a few reviewers who have not been happy. There are pastries, cereal, melon, other fruits, cheese, ham and hot selection which has always been bacon, sausage, beans, potato hash pieces, scrambled egg, mushrooms, fried bread, tomatoes. There is a toast machine with choice of jams and you can request poached or fried eggs which are cooked fresh. The lady who is usually on the tables at breakfast is always polite and friendly. I feel this hotel offers exceptional value for money for what we recieve in terms of space, quality of bed and bedding, cleanliness and hsopitality. To improve it would require some refurbishment of the rooms with new sofa's in particular which do look a bit grubby. We will contniune to use this hotel for our future visits to see family. There are a number of restaurants, mainly chains, within a very short drive (Nando's Chiquito's Tobi carvery, McD'd and KFC fast food).
