1.56km from Hong Kong ExpressStayed here on business as hotels downtown were 2-3x more expensive. Should have known. Office is only open business hours so actually only saw the person on duty, who was very nice and polite, when he needed to run my credit card and when I left. My business schedule was out by 06:30 and back after 10:30pm so didn't see anyone for rest of day Tues, Wed or Thurs to let them know about the condition of the room. On check out he confirmed the condition of the room, and I'm pursuing a refund. Bugs every day and night in the room - mosquitoes and black flies - mold in the shower (wall and ceiling), very thin walls so could easily hear people next door just talking - not even being loud. I was told the weather stripping around the door was shot (it was missing) and light came in nearly all around the door - hence the bugs. Bathroom window was also unlocked - only 1 floor - and all back windows had bars on them (the bars over my bathroom was open too). Parking is 5' from your door so when cars start up, you get woken up. The area is not very nice and if you walk into town on 8th street you walk through a homeless tent community maybe 5 blocks from the hotel. AC was fine, thankfully, but the shower took several minutes of running to get hot water. But at least it was very hot. Amenities were such I left them all behind and had to use a soap I brought. Their was more like the old sand-soap. And TINY. Walls were marked up where bugs were squashed. It was inexpensive, but I would not stay there again. Saving money is one thing, but there had to be better, cleaner, bug and mold-free, places to stay.
