Just stayed for a couple of nights prior to moving on for another resort in Crete. Just a single door off off the street leads to a few apartments and was in such a good location - 5/10 mins walk from the main harbour area and with plenty of local shops, bakeries and bars made it a lovely welcome for us back to Crete. We were a family of four, with young children - so it’s not one for staying in and running around - but perfect for our break. There was good wifi, comfy beds and a duplex bedroom for one of the kids. Balcony was a good size, perfect for us to sit out, but only a view of the street (not a problem for us). I would recommend highly, a word of caution though - and not mentioned on the booking site - there is a lot of stairs to climb, which was ok for us, but there’s no lift, so if you have trouble climbing stairs or taking heavy bags up then perhaps not ideal.

From before we arrived, until our parting good-byes, ANTEL Suites and staff were absolutely perfect. In particular, owner Xanthi is the loving Greek mother everyone should have- assisting with reservations, parking, and concerns about wheelchair access to make everything about our stay enjoyable. We were greeted by the most charming desk team every time we ”returned home” and discovered special treats like cakes, nuts, and liqueurs in our suite. The suite itself was modern, efficient, spotless, and compliant with the most stringent of American accessibility requirements - but in beautiful Chania, Greece! Door widths, barrier-free entrances, a roll in European shower, toilet, adaptive equipment and hand bars were exceptional and like no other in our many travels. If you travel using a wheelchair, ANTEL suites is a dream come true. In addition, the suite had an excellent apartment style kitchen for cooking (though we didn't - who can compete with the chefs of Chania?) The bed and bedding were of superior quality and comfort. ANTEL is very conveniently located across from the central bus terminal for touring, getting to beaches, and in the center city if getting around on foot / wheels for meals and shopping. Finally, ANTEL was an exceptional value all around. My only sadness is that we had to leave - we will definitely return someday and cannot recommend this accessible find more strongly to all. This was the most fraudulently advertised room I have ever come across. As 2 female friends we had booked a 2 bedroom suite with living area and sofa bed for our holiday, which was booked, paid for and confirmed several months in advance. When we arrived the entrance opened up to a mattress wedged against a wall in an alcove in the hallway between the bedroom and bathroom. The mattress was neither dressed as a sofa or a bed, it was simply a mattress opposite a kettle and nespresso machine (with no pods). We were shown the bedroom and asked where the other bedroom was. We were told the mattress was! This didn't even constitute a bed never mind a bedroom. The man who met us who subsequently turned out to be the manager became extremely rude and intimidating when we told him this was not what we booked & we wanted what we booked otherwise we wanted our money back. He told us we hadn't paid which was rubbish as we had proof of payment to show him and then subsequently said it was Bulls**t (his words not mine) that a 2 bedroom suite even existed. Meanwhile my friend was on the phone to the manager who said the suite was for 5 people and we were only 2. The manager was shouting at us, did not apologise once and was extremely intimidating. The room was fit for 2 people only & only a romantic couple& was v small , the bathroom was small, outdated and no bath. I noticed there was no photos of our actual room on ANY booking websites. It took hours before we got a refund and our first night was completely ruined.

After a last minute scramble to find a hotel with availability we booked the Megim through hotels.com. We requested a room with three beds and on arrival saw that the rooms were too small to comfortably accommodate three adults and took two rooms - we were given an extremely good price for the second room and were surprised and happy. Rooms were small but clean, comfortable each with a little balcony. The hotel is across the street from a nice pebble beach with a super cafe/bar, sunbeds and umbrellas. the hotel is a short drive to the town center and the owner arranged for taxis to and from the town whenever we needed them.

Location, driving for an hour and a half from the port of Crete, in the mountains, steeper, rent a car. . Because this town is relatively remote, we walked down the town and I was with my husband and two Asians. The outside of the hotel looked very clean. After entering, the facilities were old and there were electric fans. The keys are also very personal, there are no toiletries, the bathroom is small, and the breakfast is not very rich. Driving from the pink beach for an hour and a half, the straight line is relatively close, but the mountain is slower. The hotel is also on the beach, the sea breeze is big and slightly cold.

Bikakis Family Apartments is located in Castelli Kissamo, Haniov. Nice hotel in the city center. It has free Wi-Fi. The service is excellent!!! The owner is a great host. He and his mother's generosity are slaving you. A beautiful room with balcony and sea view, you had a small refrigerator. There are various restaurants around the area, and in some for residents in Bikakis Family apartments there are reduced fees for their meals. Breakfast buffets are served at the bar of the accommodation. The archaeological museum in Kissamo is 300m away and port is 5km away. At 50m you will find a bus and bank stop, while the local market is 80m. The area is an ideal base to explore the western part of Crete. You can visit Balo, Falasarna, Gramsa and Elephant, the neighbouring landscape is impressive, with mountains, cliffs and coastal villages. I recommend it for both its economic prices and its warm environment and its great position in the centre of the city.

Had a wonderful stay in this lovely boutique hotel! Had the Luxury Suite with Hot Tob for 3 nights. Very centre location in the middle of everything. Our room was on the top floor, above all the fuss. The room was beautiful; very modern, tidy and spacious. There was a small kitchenette with a good sized fridge, that had also a freeze-box inside. The balcony was huge, with sunbathing chairs, couches with roofing, and a great hot tub. We were able to make our own breakfast, and enjoy it in the privacy of our top-floor balcony. After that some sunbathing and cooling off in the tub with cold water - that was amazing in the heat of July. The staff was lovely and so welcoming. The cleaning was amazing and always considerate to your needs - absolutely loved her. When we arrived, our bed was decorated beautifully and there were some refreshments and snacks in the room. Fridge was always stocked with cold water bottles. The place was real luxury for us! If (read: when) I'm back in Chania, this is my place stay! Note: No elevator, so not suitable for someone who need assistance for moving. Still only 3 floors so easy for us to walk with luggage. During night time might be bit noisy from the streets. I used ears-pluggs, my husband didn't need any. So we both slept well. Huge and comfotable bed. Overall highly recommended! ❤️

This boutique hotel in the old harbour of Chania is stunning. Every room is different, themed according to a material (ours was wood, our daughter’s was brick) and the decoration changes accordingly. We had amazing harbour views with ever changing light and sailboats. Staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and discrete at the same time, perfect combination. There is no restaurant but breakfast is at the nearby Pallas bakery and bar - highly recommended in its own right. We were also given great recommendations for local restaurants for dinner.

Not a real 5 star product. Nice: - imperial rooms, bathroom and furniture - beach area at imperial side. Not nice: Lacks real 5 star atmosphere in public areas and restaurants. Many design elements are not nice. The rooms lacks a proper desk light, if you need to check your laptop or write something. Lights in ceiling restaurant partly broken Restaurants are like staff restaurants, they lack 5 star style and decoration. Wine is of 5 star price level, very small glass of basic wine for 5 euro. Most are 7 euro. Bottles far too expensive for a not so nice restaurant. The buffet food is very simple and plain. It is not a 5 star level. The desert corner is better. Breakfast: many types of bread but not one of really nice quality’s. The egg station staff couldn’t prepare a proper fried egg. I would go next time I would book a room in the main building across the street, the rooms are better value. The imperial rooms don’t add real value, especially out of the season, when the diner is in the main building and the reception too. You can easily cross the street via the hotel bridge. Happy we booked only for 1 night.

We first stayed at the Hanim in 2019 and loved it - and Chania - so much that our first post-lockdown trip abroad had to be back there. Socrates' four course breakfasts are as good as ever and Rena couldn't be more hopeful in ensuring you have a great time. The staff at the Hanim are all very friendly and helpful. All the comments from my previous review still apply. Large airy quiet air-conditioned rooms with big beds; bars and restaurants right outside your door. lots of interesting individual shops around the harbour and in the numerous little alleyways that make Chania so picturesque. Now money is getting tighter the Hanim is great value too. Hopefully we will be back again before the travel insurance gets too extortionate but we have delightful memories of the Hanim and Rena and Socrates to see us through the English winter. From the very beginning the owner welcomed us with such care. The place itself it’s located perfectly outside the rush of people but yet still so close to the city of Chania (8/10mins by car). The establishment is super nice and well kept surrounded by bamboo and olive trees. The rooms are near each other and most of them are overlooking the pool. Room itself was very very clean and towels, bedsheets, products were smelling really nice. You can see that the place is well maintained and taken very good care of! It’s also PET FRIENDLY with stray cats(which you’ll see either in the morning or at night without even bothering you) another reason why we booked this establishment as we brought our own dog which was well accepted without any additional costs or useless comments. Our holiday is still ongoing as we booked for 5 days but it’s a must to leave a positive comment to such a beautiful place and people. To who ever sees this post don’t think twice and just book it! We stayed in this hotel for four nights approaching mid-May. The hotel has we believe 35 rooms and opened on 15 May 2021. It has six floors and is situated on one of the main routes into Chania. It is sleek, well appointed, with a pool, with a functioning spa and a bar and restaurant. It is supremely modern – and everything works! We flew to Chania and a taxi from the airport should cost €23.00 – check before hiring! There is a bus from the airport but we felt the bus station was too far to walk with luggage. We cannot comment on connections with ferries. The quality of the hotel is evident as soon as your taxi pulls up. Reception has dedicated soft seating and is a large area looking onto a grassed deck around the pool, with loungers and deck-chairs. Beyond reception and on the same floor level there is bar which serves snacks, lunch and dinner, but from a short menu. It does not provide fine dining. There is an outside seating area that is under cover. On the floor below is the breakfast room – it is quite large and again has an outside, under cover seating area. Breakfast is a self-service buffet with cooked food available – the kitchen is open to view. The selection is extensive with both international and Cretan dishes, and whilst for vegetarians a little limited we still felt well served. The hotel is five minutes’ walk from the eastern end of the seafront which is lined with bars and restaurants and the furthest end (the Venetian Port) could be reached within a 20 minute stroll. The lack therefore of an extensive dinner menu is no problem. Our room was modern and slick, generously sized with a larger than normal double bed and good quality linen. There was a sofa and workspace. There was a full room width balcony looking out but not directly on to the seafront. Wi-Fi was OK. The bathroom and WC were separated from the bedroom by an elaborate screen. The wash hand basin was separate from the shower which was a reasonably sized walk-in. The WC was entirely enclosed but relatively odour free. It did, however, have an “interesting” door that we were unwilling to shut for fear of being unable to open and sensor operated lights and fan. All-in-all however – apart from an initial problem with hot water – everything worked. Toiletries were acceptable. There was a safe, a mini-bar with complimentary items and tea/coffee making facilities. We experiences no significant noise from either inside or outside the hotel. Housekeeping was acceptable with linens changed every two days. The aircon/heating was very effective – complicated, but with clear instructions! The room had widescreen television and a streaming service but we used neither. Staff were friendly and helpful, most with a good grasp of English. The hotel appeared equipped to deal with guests with limited mobility. We saw no evidence of the hotel taking groups. This is a splendid hotel, sensibly priced and would serve a long-stay guest just as well as an

Just amazing! There are so many options to stay in Chania, this is number one by far. The location is good. Walking distance to town. We had a car so it was a short 5 min drive in. They hotel also offers valet parking (if the bellboy is there). But you can also self park. A little far, but doable. The rooms are just fantastic. We had a two floor family loft and every comfort you expect is there. Very nicely designed with high end finishes. The balcony is a gem with the most incredible views. The beds were too hard for me but just right for my husband as he loves a firmer bed. The pool is an awesome asset. My kids used it everyday and it was always warm and clean. Just lovely. Breakfast is fantastic and the staff really make the experience better (especially Joanna). Such friendly ladies that work there. All in all, we adored our stay. Beautiful hotel, clean, modern, luxe and friendly people. Worth every penny.

This was our third time at the Harmony where we again had a pool room in the main building. These are facing north-west, so you have lots of sunshine from 14 until sunset. The room balcony isn't in itself very large, but there is a nice space for two people to lie down across from the pool. The pool is your own, but not truly private as there are glass walls between the pool of each room. The room has a fridge for your own use and coffee making facilities. The breakfast is being served with lots of options in their restaurant across the street. This is also where you will get dinner if you have half board. We did take half board last time, which also was with large daily variation and a weekly rotating menu. You also have access to all facilities at ”Corissia Park”, where you can e.g. go for the buffet breakfast if you prefer. Sunbeds/parasols there as well as on the beach are without charge for guests. Beach towels to use at your pool, the beach or the park are provided also free of charge. If you dine (at Corissia Park or in the restaurant across from the Harmony), the wine selection is good, while not very extensive. But you are on vacation, right? There are really only two things we are missing. There is no bar at the premises of Corissia Harmony; however, you are less than 10 minutes walk from the central square of the town. The other thing we are (highly) missing is laundry service, which according to the reception is due to missing laundry facilities in the city of Georgioupolis. Everybody at both the hotel itself and at Corissia Park are extremely friendly and the service is truly great. It is obvious that they have many returning customers who are genuinely greeted with a ”welcome back”. And we will also be coming back!

My boyfriend and I are only 18 and 19 and were probably the youngest couple there, but we did not feel out of place and there was still plenty to do in the town of chania. the harbour is incredibly lively and exciting- we spent most our nights here. we also saved some money due to free shuttle to and from the hotel which ran up until 12pm - we only needed to pay for a taxi once when we had one late night. would totally recommend this hotel. the restaurant was also delicious on the night and the views/ sunset were incredible. thank you so much royal sun for making out first holiday together so special!!

I stayed here at the Arkadi having stayed here many times before. It’s recently been refurbished and looks and is really great. Comfortable beds, and good shower, etc. Had a room overlooking the square. However it was very noisy at night with a 24/7 bakery open just across the road. I suggest if you stay here to request a room at the back, where I have stayed in the past, and it’s lovely and quiet and has a great view of the mountains. Breakfast at the hotel is really good. Nice helpful staff. Very central and 5 minutes from the bus station, and it’s a great location for the town centre.

Malmo Historic Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at the Malmo for 6 or seven nights. It is in the historic district and is a new, modern small hotel. Virginia was extremely helpful and the hotel itself was very responsive to inquiries before and during our stay helping us with airport transfers and restaurant suggestions. In season I highly recommend making restaurant reservations since Chania is a very busy town. If renting a car, make sure to arrange for a parking garage ahead of time since you cannot park in the historic district. The only comment I would make about the room (Madonna) we had while it was I think the largest it was directly below the breakfast area and wine bar and the chairs above us either woke us up or kept us awake while moving around above us. So perhaps consider a different room. Also, the pillows were the hardest I have slept on in a long time. Other than that the breakfast was wonderful and the staff very helpful!

I booked to Elia Potie in Chania and I called the day before to ask for a shuttle from the airport to the hotel (the hotel offered this service). I asked for the driver to have a POS so I pay with a credit card. A driver came at the airport, he was nice but did not have POS because nobody from the hotel informed him about it. Thus, I had to walk with him around the city to a taxi place where his partner had the POS to pay. At the hotel and during my check in I was informed that my breakfast will not be served at my hotel but in another hotel 300 meters away. I complained because this was not written in the description of the room/hotel. Then, I had to walk with my suitcase to the hotel I booked (the check in was at the hotel where breakfast was served). When I arrived I found out that there is no elevator and I had to carry my luggage upstairs which was not possible because I broke my hand a few months ago (see pictures). I called the reception of the hotel and they told me that they do not offer groom service. I went to the room and left the suitcase downstairs. I informed the reception that either they should arrange so the suitcase is carried to my room or offer me a free cancellation. Moreover the room had a bad smell...I do not know if it is humidity or the smell from the bathroom... I also asked for a room change afterwards. The manager refused through the receptionist to offer me a free cancellation or change me room. The only thing the reception did was to send a person to carry my suitcase to my room afte two hours. Moreover, the room is above a bar and there is music playing until one a.m. Terrible experience, I do not recommend this hotel chain to anyone. The management is UNPROFESSIONAL and offer NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Of course I informed Hotels.com immediately and they were trying to find the manager but he/she was hiding!

I had a fantastic 4 night stay at the Chania Flair! After being greeted with a cold towel, glass of champagne and smoked salmon, I knew that my stay would be great. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The a la carte breakfast was great and there was a wide selection of hot and cold options. My room was huge and spotless, and the bed was very comfy. The only con of the room was that it looked over he neighbouring apartment building (so, not a very interesting view from the balcony). The hotel sent a fruit plate and a bottle of wine to the room...they know how to spoil their guests. The beach is right next to the hotel, and the hotel has a dedicated section on the beach (which was great!). Again, staff at the beach and at the Hagen Dazs (which is associated with the hotel) were all great. I used the roof top pool once during my stay, which had great views over the sea. I had a very relaxing stay at the Chania Flair and would absolutely stay here again!

Even though it is not ”perfect”, I absolutely loved this hotel! It is a small boutique hotel ideally situated on Chania's old harbour. Rooms are full of charm and of good size, you are in the middle of the action, and views are fabulous. The nature of the hotel comes with its own challenges, and perhaps this is what I should start with: - if you travel with large luggage, beware that the hotel has no lift and stairs are quite steep, so if so, you may prefer to ask for a room on the 1st floor. Some rooms also have internal mezzanines. - Wifi is really hit and miss - As other reviewers mentioned, it can be hard to get hot water and the system is fragile so that one morning there was none at all and they had to call a technician to fix it - The area is pedestrian - about 10 minutes (leisurely) walk to the bus station and the nearest road so best for people who like walking. Having said that, none of this bothered me personally. I loved my room and its decor, I found the bed really comfortable (though pillows were really hard), I loved the location, and the staff were lovely. There is a roof terrace with a view to the harbour, a mini fridge in the room if you like to keep some food, and everything was clean and fresh. I'll definitely be back!

Excellent small hotel. Recommended All the staff were great but a special mention to Eleni & Vicki on reception who were a great source of local information, happy to chat and always gave a warm welcome Breakfasts were really good with a selection of hot & cold food. Loved the fresh orange juice , the homemade cakes and avacado cheese tomato on toast Pool pretty small but there aren’t loads of guests so no problem getting a sun bed. Pool towels provided Room was very clean with linen, towels changed every few days. Best shower I’ve ever experienced in Greece. Coffee maker but would have liked a kettle as well Pita Griil (recommended) & small supermarket just over the road. Sandy beach, more supermarkets restaurants 200 yards with a frequent bus service to Chania Town for 1.5 euro

I debated so much about where to stay in Crete and ultimately decided here because of location to the many surrounding activities we wanted to do. Wow, did this hotel exceed every expectation and become much more than a resting place. The rooms are massive, each with unique, compelling features and unforgettable views of the buzzing city and lighthouse. We often sat in the window seating area watching sunsets and the sea below. The staff was super friendly and the attention to the room from the service staff was perfection. They took service and cleaning very seriously. The breakfast was the best we had during our entire honeymoon in Greece. All of their dishes were excellent. My only criticism is the parking situation. It was quite scary trying to get by all the cars lining the tiny street. We had to fold the side mirrors in each time and were inches from hitting cars/curbs on both sides coming in/out. I recognize that is a common issue driving in Europe though. We absolutely loved Chania and would love to visit this hotel again one day. So happy I stumbled across this gem. Thank you Residenza Vranas!
