My daughter wanted to visit Universal Studio, so the whole point of the weekend was to do that one thing. This hotel came up as recommended so I decided to book it; the rate was great, it was off-season (first week of February) and it was across the street from Amagasaki Station. What a little gem! The rooms are small (singles are big enough for only one person) so I booked two, the combined price being less expensive than most double rooms around Grand Osaka. Super clean, in great condition, with typical amenities like teapot, mini-fridge, TV and toiletries. The staff here doesn't speak English well, so make use of your phrasebook if you don't speak Japanese. There are public baths (male and female) in the lobby, a smoking room (indoors, which is rare for a boutique hotel), and a breakfast buffet restaurant. They also have a car park out back, and laundry machines. Housekeeping uses those machines in the morning but they're otherwise available, which I found out when they offered to finish my laundry for me so they could also do their work :P There's a convenience store about a block away, which is always a plus, and a couple of good restaurants on the same street. When I left my mobile phone in a taxi coming back from Hanshin Department Store, which isn't that far away by bus or train, the driver took the phone to the police kiosk and notified Y's Hotel's front desk that one of their guests had forgotten something. A very nice clerk called the box to ask about my phone, then walked me to the location so I could retrieve it (about a block and a half away). I'd call that awesome service. It's not as close to Universal Studio as I thought, but getting back and forth from there was easy. I'd stay here again on a personal trip. Amagasaki is a lovely little extension of Osaka with age-old businesses mixed with new high-rises. Pretty laid back even by Osaka standards. I'm sure I could find larger rooms or better amenities nearby, but it's the staff that impressed me most, I fell in love with them!

Stayed 2 nights at Hotel Vischio Amagasaki in May 2019. We chose it because it is right across the street from the JR line. Hotel is older, but in nice shape. Some amenities are in the room, others need to be picked up in the lobby. We used the luggage storage because we arrived before check-in time. Room was a decent size, clean and quiet. You have to put your keycard in a slot by the door to have the lights go on (and you only get 1 keycard, so the lights go off when your roommate leaves). There is also a small guest lounge (with keycard entry) where you can use computers and make tea (besides the general sitting area in the lobby). Hotel has exits on the first and second floor (we used the second floor to go to the the JR line, first floor to go to local shops). There are plenty of shops in the area (there is an indoor mall on the next block). We ate the breakfast buffet and it had a nice selection of food/drinks. I would return to this hotel in the future.

Effectively sit just crossing the street from Amagasaki Hanshin station or the Airport Limousine stop, Toyoko Inn offers an absolutely delicious Japanese breakfast, cooked by super kind ladies. The receptionists are always very attentive to your needs. The hotel provides pijamas and amenities if case you forgot yours home for no additional cost. You can benefit of special tarifs if you are ( or become on arrival ) a member of the Toyoko Inn hotel chain. I just checked and they have hotels all over Japan and not only, I spotted one even in Seoul. Definitely my choice when coming back to Amagasaki. The location is very convenient even if you travel to Osaka , the express train takes you there directly.

My family stayed only for one night. The access to the hotel was 10 or so minutes from the nearest highway off-ramp . If you are taking the train, the trip to the hotel on foot from the station is very similar. Parking was directly underground, which cost 500 yen for one night. Considering that the hotel is within city limits and only a twenty-ish train ride to Umeda/Osaka Station, I would say it was quite cheap. The room was small as was expected. Luckily the double size bed could fit me, my wife, and my baby with some room to spare. The typical amenities were provided, plus an air purifier. There were some scuffs on the walls, but overall it was clean. The outside view from our room wasn't spectacular, but we didn't come for that. There's a lot of counter space and drawers to store clothes and other personal items. When it comes to dining, there are many options all within the hotel. My family enjoyed the all-you-can-eat crab dinner. Definitely go early or all the good parts will be gone. Our hotel plan also came with a morning breakfast at the same place. No surprises there but we had our fill and it was not that crowded. With all said, we enjoyed our stayed and would like to come again but for an extended time next time.
