We came across this small hotel by accident, following an intensive search on the internet, even though we’re frequent visitors to the City of Light. It was a very positive accident! This has to be our favourite hotel in Paris! It is comfortable, welcoming and has been sensitively designed to reflect its location and the wider history of Paris (evidenced by the excellent historical portrait engravings hanging on many of the walls). The location means it is quiet and away from the maddening crowds. A haven of peace and comfort! Another advantage of the location is the very close proximity to some excellent bistros, etc. Our room, whilst not large, was more than adequate for our stay. The en-suite was also more than adequate. Together they made for a very comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable stay. Breakfast is taken in the restored and renovated basement. It is classic French - and very fresh too, especially the bread. Choice could be improved, but then the French do not usually indulge in anything comparable to a ‘full Scottish breakfast’! This hotel represents a rarity in that there was nothing we could fault, or suggest improvements to. Once the pandemic travel restrictions are completely lifted we will be booking for a longer stay; hopefully Spring 2021!FromUS$134.00

I love this hotel! During my stay I had a single room that was small but pretty, without being fussy; it was a lovely refuge at the end of a long day of walking around Paris. The location on Île Saint-Louis could not be better, providing easy access to both sides of the river. The central location was important because I was in Paris during a city-wide (actually country-wide) transportation strike and walked everywhere. Somehow Île Saint-Louis manages to retain its charm and small neighborhood atmosphere in the midst of the city. The staff were friendly and helpful, which is especially important when you are a solo traveler. Because of the transportation strike I greatly appreciated their advice and assistance in securing a taxi and estimating the time to get to the airport on my departure day. I would be delighted to stay again at the Hôtel des Deux Îles.SOLD OUT

Location, good. View, good. Room, miniscule. Elevator -- tiny, but I think it's substandard because it barely works.... good luck... This is the DUMBEST thing I have ever seen in my life! I have to leave my room key at the front desk EVERY TIME I step outside. And pick it up when I come in. Damn, I'm almost 50 years old and have traveled the world my whole life. I have NEVER seen this stupid, absurd, and ridiculous policy ANYYYYY WHERE. Why is it bad? Let me tell you why. Because it takes TIME to drop off the room key or pick it up EVERY TIME. Because if there's someone at the front desk, I won't interrupt them, naturally, because I'm cultured. OR if the front desk person is on the PHONE, I won't interrupt them, naturally. OR if they are in the back (late night, for example), it takes time for them to see that someone is at the front desk. THE STAFF WAS WONDERFUL, so this criticism is aimed at the person who came up with this most stupid and dumb policy. Please step out into the real world and see how other people do it. Oh, and also, a word of advice for people who want to stay here! -- the EXPENSIVE fancy view of the Notre Dame Cathedral... is the SAME ON PRETTY MUCH EVERY FLOOR... MOST ROOMS see the same thing, and have a great view, so need to spend extra for that room.SOLD OUT

I've stayed at this hotel on several occasions in the past, and after a 10 year gap I returned to Paris for a few days and booked again. I was not disappointed! The location is just excellent...Pompidou is a block away, BHV literally opposite. Le Marais, Notre Dame etc. are a short stroll, and everywhere else a quick metro ride away. I was in town for work but even being tired at the end of the day, getting out to eat and sightsee in the evenings was effortless. The hotel has a contemporary boutique feel - stylish but subtle and nicely updated since my previous visits. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, and my room was modern and comfortable. I opted for the express breakfast each morning, which offers juice, coffee and a selection of wonderful fresh breads and pastries. A perfect start to my day and again served by a welcoming and friendly member of staff. I can't recommend this place enough, and I will be returning on my next Paris visit!FromUS$125.00

Hotel Henri IV Rive Gauche I am indeed an avid fan of this hotel, not only for its location but the people that made so much of difference on our stays. This is the 2nd time we have returned to them, despite last minute changes to our hotel booking, and the choice was still to go back to this fellas. What can I say about this place? For most of the reviews giving 4/5 stars the hotel, they are true. For us, it’s the sense of belonging and how this hotel, still was in Aug19, created a home away from home ambience. How do I know? My kids felt right at home and we are not French speakers. This says a lot, and in the minimal correspondences with the Pantry/Kitchen during breakfast time, or hailing for a cab to send us around town, or even getting recommendation for nearby food eateries, the people working here made the those difference for us. The attractions nearby, the morning Sunday bell ringing from the opposite Catholic church, the impromptu dancing of whom I believe to Latin American people 1 street away, just gave such zest to the place. Mind you, at this point of time, we could not access to the Notre Dame due to fire, and yet we fitted in like a glove. So the entire location creates that ambience, and when we return to the hotel – arhhhh it really was like home. We had 2 rooms, yes because we booked late hence we couldn’t get back the old room, but it was very manageable. The rooms were comfortable, the girls had a jolly time doing girly stuff while the boys hung out and just chatted. We had the windowed rooms and we could just gaze onto the busy street, and people watch. Isn't that what you also do when you are in Paris? People watching ... Everything in the rooms were working. The beds were soft and great comfort for rest after a full day of galivanting in the city. The services were great – we made so many friends with the front desk and whilst at night, there was an elderly man greeting us with such warmth. Pertaining to professionalism, I thought they are very sensible and professional in all their dealings. Not that I want to brag, the hotel was fair enough to refunded me for the nights that we could not stay due to trip curtailment, and I have always been grateful for them to be so. Of course, if it’s a non-refundable rate, I would not have expected them to return – but they extended that very kind gesture to us, then. I always ask myself, how do I give a fair and decent review especially it’s all matter of angles - I would ask myself if I would return to this hotel despite having to invest a lot of money and missed out on trying other hotels. For that, I know I will always want to return to this hotel, anytime we are in Paris. There is absolutely nothing to complain about them. I hope to see you again, sometime in the future – where COVID19 won’t impact the world anymore. Au revoir et à bientôt!SOLD OUT

I doubt whether you could find a more conveniently located hotel in this fantastic city. Many people seek a central location for their visit - there is no real central location - easy access to the incredible public transport system is the goal for any visit. Super convenient location, hotel front door is less than 10 steps from entrance to - sortie 6 - elevator which gives you immediate access to platform for RER B -> to and from CDG. The nearby (200m) St Michel- Notre Dame public transport hub provides access to Metro 4, RER B and C, also there is a multitude of bus stops in near vicinity. As a tourist wanting to maximise our time, the easy access to all these public transport options is invaluable. Our superior room (7) has air conditioning- warm in cold weather, double glazing on windows to minimise any street noise. Windows overlooking the beautiful Seine and the very, very sad remains of the Notre Dame. Spacious room for Paris standards, comfortable king size bed, mini bar with safe in fridge, novel idea. Bathroom with complimentary toiletries, good pressure and very hot water. Ample storage for luggage and hanging space in built in wardrobe. Coffee and tea making facilities. There are many, many restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance from hotel. Reception is staffed by some very friendly and helpful people. Thank you, Tanah (Manager - apologies for spelling) for your assistance and many phones calls in locating some items left behind in Bordeaux. Big thank you again to Dino, incredibly helpful with restaurant and commuter advice, also with your friendly and insightful views on living and working in this fabulous city. Also for your assistance with Tanah in communicating with Bordeaux hotel. We stayed in this fantastic hotel in 2017, and when preparing to visit again corresponded by e- mail with Dino, who answered all enquires almost immediately. If you are seeking a hotel with a gym, 24hr room service etc, etc - this small, 10 room hotel is not for you. But if you are seeking a small boutique hotel in a super convenient location with amazingly friendly and helpful staff, you should consider this little gem.SOLD OUT

We booked a room here for a birthday stay in Paris. The hotel was easy to find and close to a Metro station. Reception was small and welcoming as was the receptionist, who had very good English. The room was small and functional, but comfortable. On the down side the air conditioning didn't work and with inward opening windows, we couldn't leave the windows open without opening the curtains fully. Also there was a lack of any hooks on which to hang coats and clothes to dry. The wardrobe was small with only 6 hangers. The room was well serviced and cleaned every day to a good standard. The spa was very small, but pleasant, and the steam room was of a good size, but didn't get that hot and steamy. Breakfast was nice, but it seemed that there was only one session of cooking (sausage; mushroom; and scrambled eggs), so if you had a lay in and got there after 10.00 am the egg was not that great. But plenty of cereal, fruit; yogurts; croissants etc. Overall, probably a little expensive for the size of the room and facilities, but I have no recent comparison in Paris.FromUS$224.00

I stayed at this hotel during my first trip to Paris in the 1990s. I continued to stay there every year until 2005, when I stopped traveling to Europe for a few years. In 2018 I returned to Paris and Hotel Emile under its new ownership. They had really done a lot to spruce up the hotel even before COVID 19. My husband and I love this hotel because of its great location. The metro is just across the street. There is a great cafe downstairs on the corner and a grocery store, pastry shop, boulangerie, fromagerie, librarie, etc. all within less than a 10 min walk. It is on the edge of the Marais, the best place in Paris for night time wanderings, in my opinion. And best of all, the hotel is clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a real warmth and family feeling at the hotel. I wouldn't change Hotel Emile for the Hotel Charles V!SOLD OUT

I live on the 2nd floor facing the street, and it is very quiet at night, but the sound insulation between the room and the room is really average. The room is not large and has a balcony (not every room, so it is best to leave a message to tell the room with a balcony when booking) ), There is also a door in the bathroom sharing a balcony with the room, so the balcony is quite large. The hotel only provides shampoo, shower gel and hair dryer. Slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided, so it is recommended to bring your own toiletries. Lines 7 and 10 are only 5 minutes' walk from the surrounding area. Line 4 is about 15 minutes away. The 5th district is a Latin area, surrounded by universities, so it is safe! The hotel has access control locks, staff need to help open the door to enter! Breakfast is an ordinary western-style breakfast, bread, milk, eggs, oatmeal, sausage and cheese. A tax of 1.88 euros per person per night, which must be paid to the front desk when checking out. Stayed 9 nights. Got a room in the 5' floor with balcony. Small but very nice. Superb location, some 20 m. from the Rue Rivoli on a quiet small street. No noise at all. Meters from St. Jaques Tour and the Hotel de Ville (Municipality). Exit from the Hotel de Ville Metro station, exit Rue Coutellierie, has mechanic stairs till the street which is not so common. For elderly people, or with baby trolleys, etc. is perfect. Walking distance from Forum des Halles, Louvre, Pompidou Center, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, etc. Everyone speaks english. Stephan speaks Spanish as well. Very nice and helpful good looking and cooperative guy. Completely refrubrished. Insulated walls prevent from any noise from other rooms or street which is anyway very quiet. Beautiful, small bathroom. Small but has everything. New furniture. Wooden floor. New and very good quality of towels. Very good heating. Kettle and coffe machine in the room. Now cons: not everything is bright: The room is perfect but very very small. Has very little shelves and room for clothes. Beautiful but extremely small. Need to improve exterior entrance which is brown, dark, and old, leaving a not nice impression. Nice and clean lobby but outside look, needs improvement. Same with the corridors rugs. I will definitely come back and recommend to my friends, those who don't mind to stay in a very small room - but very nice and pleasant.FromUS$62.00

The hotel location is very good, very close to the Arc de Triomphe, a five minute walk to the subway station can also take a direct bus to and from Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airport. Facilities breakfast also fully reached the four-star standard, the gym is relatively small. The front desk is more enthusiastic. There is a little brother who can speak Chinese, which makes communication more convenient.

I regret the booking of this hotel. The gentleman at the service desk when I checked in was incredibly rude and condescending throughout the process. The room was as small as expected however the beds and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. The shower had minimal pressure. The AC whenever it was turned on left a gathering of dust over everything in my room. Whilst it is located quite a distance from the centre, there are several stations close by which is handy, unfortunately the food options close by the hotel are terrible. I left the hotel after three nights instead of the five I had booked and paid for.

Disneyland
Stayed at the B&B hotel for three nights while visiting Disney. Anyone looking for a cheap place to stay this is perfect. Hotel is spotlessly clean, really friendly staff, good sized rooms with comfortable beds and shower room. The hotel serves a simple dinner of pasta or pizza which is great, easy to order and quick to come. Breakfast is simple but just want you need at the start of the day. Tables were cleared quickly and everything very clean and presented well. We were worried about the shuttle overcrowding but there are a few services which only run from the B&B hotel and others which go to the other four hotels on the complex which makes it easy. We always got on a bus even if it was busy and never had to wait long! Lockers are available to store luggage if your arrive before your room is ready or check out early. We will be back on our next disney trip!

For the first time in a hotel model, the century-old building is said to be a historical cultural relics protection unit in Paris, so it is completely banned. My old cigarette can only smoke in a small yard. Miss Luo is very enthusiastic, let us have the feeling of going home. There is a black guy in night shift who speaks Chinese very well. He said that he read a book in Guangzhou. In the morning, the girl named Marty also speaks Chinese. There is no problem at all, and at the same time give us a lot of advice on the tour, much stronger than those that are not reliable. It is very convenient to exit the subway 50 meters away. This area is a safe place for French people to live in. The room is big enough to be the floor-to-ceiling glass window in Europe. Our bedroom is very close to the yard, so the living room is a bit noisy. It is highly recommended to add a Chinese breakfast. It is really not suitable for those cheese breads, and it is better to have Chinese TV. If you have the opportunity to come back to Paris, you will still come to the Paris Residence.
