      Good aspects: clean environment, good host service and good sanitation; Disadvantages: The public areas in the villa are relatively cluttered. They are located in the industrial area, there are buses and restaurants within 300 meters of walking, and shopping is about 1.5 kilometers on foot. If you are working near the Woodlands area, you can consider it. After all, it is farther away than coming from the urban area. Living here can save time and fares. If you are really traveling, it is not recommended.

      Nice view and nice room, unfortunately the NTUC is closed. The hotel reception staffs are nice but customer service in other part of the resorts can be improved. Guests are free to use the bunker pool in front of the hotel but if they want to use the fun pool, they need to walk all the way to the end of the resort to register names. Even after registering, we were told that we can only use the pool after 6.30 pm due an on going swimming class which only take a small part of the pool. The following day when we registered our names to use the fun pool again, we were told that we can only use the pool for one hour only (there is not a single soul using the pool at the time). It does not cost any money to be nicer to the hotel guests instead of making them feel like a second class citizen. We are after all a paying customer. Hope the management can look into this.

      This hotel is convenient if you are attending to some events in NUS or the western part of Singapore. A pretty small hotel but adequate based on the price paid. Not recommended for families as they cater to short time booking of the rooms as well; by the hour rates. So I guess many couples visit this hotel for a “happy” time. Many food joints just round the corner and operates 24 hrs. Thus this is a plus point, just a 3 min walk. 7-11 is also close by.

      Recently our company hosted a group of German guest and after much research, we found Metropolitan YMCA hotel. Honestly, the greatest attraction for us was the hotel's rate and it's totally accessible and convenient location. My guests absolutely love the rooms and the facilities that the hotel has to offer. The check in was smooth and the breakfast spread was excellent. Room was clean and spacious too! Shout out to their general manger Miss Catherine for her assistance and care during their stay at the hotel. Definitely a hidden gem in Singapore!

      Due to travelling restrictions, my husband and I are confined to looking for staycation as our honeymoon after we got married this year. We had a really enjoyable stay in Shangri-la. We requested for earlier check-in at 12PM and was told that it will be subject to availability. When we arrive at the hotel at around 12PM, we were pleasantly surprised to be told that we are given a free upgrade to Valley Wing Deluxe Room and given access to the exclusive lounge with drinks, high tea and canapés available for us. We had our dinner later on at Waterfall Restaurant which was part of the package that we bought on Trip.com. The 3-course meal that we had was really delicious with great atmosphere as we were seated outdoors at the pool side. The service provided to us was impeccable. Perhaps the only small downside is the accessibility of the hotel if you don't drive. We pretty much stayed in the hotel during our entire trip so it wasnt really a big factor. Would love to visit Shangri-la again in future :)

      Hotel provides breakfast service, but in reality, you can just choose to eat at the numerous coffee shops around the area which is cheaper. facilities are maintained in good condition too. Although Hotel room was advertised for 2 people, but in reality, room type is a bit small. If i take into account the space constraint, its good enough for 1 person to stay rather than 2 people. Given the affordable price, its relatively reasonable already. Pictures reflect exactly the room type given upon arrival at the hotel. I took an 15 bus ride to the hotel from the nearest Mrt, which is pretty ok i would say. Staff were really nice,polite and accommodating to the extra requests to make my stay easier and ore enjoyable. Checkout was a breeze, i checked out in less than 5 minutes. Hence, service efficiency is very good too! Would stay here again if i have the budget!

      This is a small hotel, Samsung. The whole building is a three-story building surrounded by a swimming pool in the middle. During my stay, the hotel guests were mainly white, yellow (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) and some with a slightly darker complexion. Are they Malay? In short, the people staying are relatively complicated. There are not many hotel rooms. There are three floors in total. The facilities are old, but there is nothing missing, just right. The swimming pool water is clear. The corridor is open with smoking spots. The waiter speaks Chinese. Have simple breakfast. Service was ok. It is 5 minutes from the bus station and 10 minutes from the subway. I have lived for many days and I forgot to take a picture. I am sorry. Only this picture of the bus station for your reference. Singapore's buses do not stop up and down, so be sure to bring Baidu navigation when you go out! I have two 1.3-meter double beds in my room, and the room is large. Hotels in Singapore are more expensive. When I go there, the Chinese New Year is extremely expensive, so the map is cheap. Better than domestic Samsung, at least they have a swimming pool.

      I booked for my fiancé's birthday and in lieu to celebrate New Years. Firstly, early check in was given as to prevent the crowd during the New Years Eve. Very smart move made by the hotel which I am very thankful for! It helps to control the crowd. Trip.com has emailed me to WhatsApp the hotel as were told by the hotel to request for early check in. Replies by the hotel staffs were fast too! After checking in, I called to reserve the pool but it was sad I could not go as it was raining! The room was rather small but that's fine by me! The shampoo and body wash given smells nice! I usually do not use hotel's shampoo/bodywash but this hotel's toiletries was quite nice! The view from the toiler was not bad too! You need to of course close the blind to have a private shower. Was given free macaroons delivered by the robots to my room as it was my fiancé's birthday! Super kind gesture made by the hotel staffs! We were super touched! The next day, when I went down to pick up my breakfast as I choose to take away(can select to dine in or take away), the staff could not find my breakfast order as my breakfast order was misplaced by one of the staffs (the one I gave my order sheet to) But that's okay because I did not mind waiting for them to pack my food again. I was also granted late check out! Overall, pleasant stay! The team was all very friendly and approachable. Thank you!

      Actually requested for highest floor with amazing view but they didn’t fulfil my request. It’s okay, they also mention to make advance booking for swimming pool and so we did, but pool is fully booked, felt so disappointed. During check in we try our luck again for the pool, lucky there is last 3 slot of us. Around 7pm went swimming, but no one was there. (Wonder why they say it’s fully book) 😕 In the afternoon try to make booking for pool again, again they say fully book. We didn’t bother to go down to check. Aside from that, we do appreciate the gifts that comes in the package that include late check out at 6pm, inclusive of breakfast and semi lunch buffet for 2 adults. Room was very spacious and clean. Overall we are happy with our stay there. Definitely we come again.

      Great service by all staff upon check-in, at the gym & swimming pool, at breakfast, housekeeping & also upon check-out. Very happy we received free upgrade for our room and it had a beautiful view in the bedroom & also in the huge bathroom with bathtub! We even received a brownie for our anniversary celebration. F&B staff at breakfast were friendly and accommodating but the food quality and variety can be improved for the breakfast set menu since there is no buffet now. Gym & swimming pool was clean and easy to book. Wonderful location of hotel and complimentary parking was a bonus. Thank you for the wonderful stay :)

      There was a 3-hour delay in checking-in but we were reasonably compensated in the form of complimentary parking and dining credits. Kudos to the front desk and concierge staff who were efficient and patient, especially with some unreasonable guests (no need to make things difficult for those who are trying to make your stay better). Food quality of in room dining was good and the safety measure was well managed at the pool. Thank you to all that have served us during our stay, you are Awesome! Just one thing not so pleasant thou, the service attitude of a particular male staff at Ash and Elm was rather bad that’s why we decided not to dine there. Seemed like somethings don’t change (bad experience with Ash and Elm years back), so except for the restaurant, we would love to come back again 😁

      Beds were clean and comfortable. Front desk staff service was friendly and professional. After the 1st night, was woken up by drilling and hammering noises at 9 plus in the morning. Breakfast in room dining was ordered at 930am, arrived at 1150am as in doom dining department could not cope w the huge amount of orders. Was informed that our breakfast would arrive at 1130am. So first day, wasn't impressed w renovation noises that disrupted our sleep and a breakfast that was more of brunch. Did request for room change and was given another room. Air conditioning in the new room was not working well n had to request for a fan. Overall, the old building and maintenance of the hotel would place it as a 4 star hotel rather than a 5-star rating.
