Very convenient and well run hotel with suites and kitchens. We stayed in a one bedroom with terrace on the 7th floor. It’s a shared terrace but no one really used it, however the view was very nice. The apartment is quite spacious and the kitchen has everything you need. Bed was comfortable although I felt the pillows were a bit too high. There is a tv in the bedroom and one in the living room. This hotel is perfect but the only thing missing for us is a washing machine. There is a grocery store that’s a 2 min walk away. I’d stay again for sure!

The A1 Hotel is situated on a side road, less than 15 minutes’ walk from the main station and 25 minutes from the historic centre. Entry is through a passage between shops, with reception up a flight of stairs on the first floor – there is no elevator, only stairs, whichever floor you are on. Overall it’s a good choice – my room faced onto a small courtyard at the back so was very quiet (apart from occasional noise transmission from neighbouring rooms). A small double room (for single occupancy) lacked much by way of storage space, but the shower/toilet was fine and clean, the bed was comfortable and there was a small table and just one chair in one corner. The breakfast buffet was excellent for the category of hotel, with a changing selection of cold fish, meats, cheese, fruit and bread; there was a limited selection of pastries or biscuits. The breakfast area also doubles up as a bar (and reception) – beer was reasonably priced, and available until late evening. Service could be a little grudging, but was acceptable.

The location is really good and the building is decent, but the cleanliness and communication with the staff is awful and very tricky !. We arrived at 3:00pm, The room was not ready when we arrived, and the lady came and removed a huge mattress from the room after we received the keys, then she started cleaning the floor, and we had to stay out for 15 minutes until the floor is no longer wet, and then they moved the big mattress to the corridor next to the entrance of the apartment and it stayed there for 4 days. When we arrived, the kitchen cooker was dirty and had huge spot on top of it from a previous tenant who didn't clean after cooking, and the staff didn't care to do anything about it, in fact remained as it's for 4the time we stayed there. The bed linens were rugged and the pillows were dirty from inside and looked very old. We communicated with the staff asking why isn't our room cleaned everyday as in usual hotels? they said we clean every 3 days - we stayed in the room for 4 days and no one ever showed up to clean the room. Communication with the staff was very tricky, everytime you ask for something they say oh but that will cost $$$ more while none of these hidden costs are mentioned on their page on booking.com or mentioned during the booking process. After booking I sent an email asking to check at 1:00pm - they said no you can only check in at 3:00pm and if you want to checkin earlier that's is 30 Euros more on top of the invoice. Booking with these apartment is extremely tricky and full of hidden costs, and you don't get value for the money and what is worse is the lack of cleaning. I wouldn't recommend this apartment, in fact if I knew I had to stay in a dirty room for 4 days, I could have booked a hotel at the same price.

The hotel is a bit further away from the centre but is very well connected. Breakfast was nice. Room could do with a bit of refurbishment. Breakfast was rather nice even though the breakfast room is a bit harder to locate. Staff should speak better English. Out of three members we encountered only one spoke it substantially.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel, once whilst on business this time on a leisure trip. It was my birthday and the hotel upgraded my room and left a lovely bottle of wine and fruit in with a card wishing me a happy Birthday. Breakfast is excellent with a varied choice and the chef will cook you something if you ask. All the staff are professional and friendly. I seriously recommend this hotel and will be staying again.

After long hibernation in a winter without snow, all was sett for ..Valmiermuiza. It couldn't go wrong - nearly good weather, Spring soon and good friend... Having had made my way on this sunny occasion we took a seat, and ordered and ...in a matter of minutes we met with TRUE Bliss! Gleaming in that female-shaped glass, with the name sprinkled as should be, reminding of ancient Bavaria under The Gods - it just beckoned me with its froth....and I could not resist..... Mmm, tasty! A sense of freedom, all clouds just threw themselves away and I was in Heaven...

I really enjoyed stay at this hostel. Host was very nice and helpful. As I am not from Riga I get good recommendations where to go and what to do. Hostel location is also perfect. Just right in the centre. I definitely will come back.

Staff all spoke fluent English, which was great. On checking in I was informed that there was a fault with the room, but there were no other rooms available so I had to have the room assigned. I went up to the room and discovered that the toilet wouldn’t flush. I went downstairs to report the concern and the reception staff told me they would be up in 15 minutes. The member of staff came upstairs, to try and flush the toilet l, to which they were unable to do so. I was then told that there was nothing they could do and I would have to remain in the room as the hotel was fully booked. I raised that the toilet not functioning was a problem and that it did need to be resolved. At this point the member of staff stated that there was one room available. This room was exceptionally small, cramped and poor decor. However the toilet did work. The staff were poor and did not reflect the Ibis reputation, which I found disappointing. I do not believe I should have been checked into a room with a known fault. It took longer than the 15 minute satisfaction guarantee.

Riga City Center
We chose this hotel after looking at many and were not disappointed. Our trip consisted of three nights in Tallinn, four in Riga and five in St Petersburg. We travelled from the Airport by two buses, a bit daunting, but fortunately we did find people who could speak English. It was then a long walk with our suitcases to find the Hotel. Upon arrival late afternoon first impressions were not good - but not the hotel's fault. We were greeted by a very drunk man and his two friends at the Reception desk. We had to wait a while and watched him being supported to the lift. We hoped our room was nowhere near his ! There seemed to be Companies who were having a Conference at the time. Our room was quite dark due to the woodwork and furnishings and carpet and we always use slippers, especially with carpets. We had a suite overlooking parkland to the front of the hotel. We were surprised to find two toilets - one in a cloakroom to one side of the bed and the other being a full bathroom with bath and shower which was very convenient for the other side of the bed. What a good idea. We don't like showers over a bath and prefer a free standing shower so we often used to shower in the Spa. The washbasin was very long and there was a magnifying mirror which is always a good idea. The floor was beautiful, being white and black tiles and lots of marble on the walls. No expense spared. The bed was not huge considering the size of the room and the duvet was quite heavy. We always take off any bedspread or similar and place to one side. There was storage with sliding doors and a sofa. Coffee making machine and quality toiletries. The Spa, one of the reasons we chose this hotel, was the best we have ever been to - in our opinion. Possibly this could be due to the fact that we often had it almost to ourselves. One of us likes to swim for at least an hour so this was most enjoyable and the swimming pool is in a beautiful setting. The hot stone beds were perfect and there were steam, ice and other rooms to enjoy, including a shower incorporating a bucket of cold water. The ladies at the desk were very pleasant. Our room was very close to the lifts so it was simple just to walk across and take the lift straight to the Spa. The breakfast rooms are very spacious some with comfy sofas, and the food was amazing - there was so much choice with some items freshly cooked to order and sparkling wine ; overall an excellent experience. After a day of sightseeing we enjoyed drinks in the bar and one evening we spoke to a gentleman in the bar about the local liqueur. There are several different flavours and he let us try them all. These can be purchased at the Airport. We used to walk across the hotel and through the parkland by the river to the many local attractions and bars and restaurants and had a most pleasant time both in this lovely hotel and the town. We stayed here before the dreadful Covid 19 pandemic arrived fro

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The location is superb, being just right next to St Peter's Church in the Old Town. A number of walking tours start from St Peter's Church so it could not have been more convenient. Within minutes of walking, one can find a wide variety of great dining choices. The room was spacious, clean and modern. I gave a rating of 4 only because the walls were thin. Each time some guest on the same floor slammed their door shut, my bed would shake (which happened quite a number of times). So yeah, just pray that you don't get a neighbouring guest who would return late, slam their door and jolt you out of your sleep. Other than this gripe, I had nothing to complain about this hotel.

This time I will spend more time reviewing this outstanding property. This hotel is the first Radisson in Latvia, it is proving each time we visit that they have the ultimate in all aspects of hospitality. 1. we had the check in process in less than five minutes 2. we had the opportunity to have an upgraded room with all requested things ready in advance via an email, baby crib and bed arranged for our child. 3. the service is a thing that they master very well, service is everywhere, pool, restaurant and every single step you go. 4. everything in the hotel is clean, rooms, restaurant, floors, panorama view platform – clean and nice all around... 5. Coffee was good in restaurant; also we enjoyed coffee machine in room - you can serve yourself when children sleep and enjoy peaceful nice moments.. would like to thank every single person in hotel who made our stay an amazing one! Would come again and recommend to anyone.

I frequent this hotel and have stayed on a few occasions, it is a very popular budget option and is run pretty well with friendly staff and professional level for a budget establishment, you always know what to expect, it is not the most centrally located but with good transport links to Riga centre, airport and even out of town directions. The rooms themselves are quite decent, breakfast is satisfactory but one huge and i mean HUGE problem is almost non existant Sound proofing and added to this squeaky and thumping floors, i mean this building is relatively new or newly renovated (id assume in the last 10 years or so) how in the hell there is no sound proofing you can hear absolutly every noise from the corridors, and the adjacent rooms. If they get a grip on this issue , this hotel will be a total gem, as its already very popular in the area and i like it alot. Hope they can manage to sort this out somehow, i would thinks its good business sense, Thanks!

Great modern and colourful room. Spacious and with bright colours here and there. Good size bathroom and an electric kettIe. T.v. is equipped to wake you up. Very handy as I had an early flight to catch. Breakfast area is really spacious and have a working samowar. Great detail!! I loved the view I had on Riga`s Old Town from my room. On Saturday there are markets accross the road. Supermarket Rimi is accross the road aswell. You do have to walk around 10 minutes each way to get to the markets or the supermarket. Ask front desk/reception for help if you are not sure how to get there.
