After reading all the terrible reviews, I was worried to stay here. We stayed here as a cheap option, we arrived at 10:30AM and were in a room straight away - it is a lovely 40 min walk from the Notre Dame. The rooms are small and the walls are thin, you can literally here everything.. However, we received fresh towels everyday and they cleaned and remade the bed, the rooms were cleaned to a high enough standard (not spotless but certainly not dirty either). The breakfast is one small baguette and a croissant with a selection of packeted jams and nutella, they have a self service coffee machine and orange juice machine too, it is a small breakfast however it is something to just start the day until you get into the centre. The area around the hotel is not touristic at all! there are hardly any restaurants near the hotel so the best option is to walk (or metro, uber) to the notre dame (we found a restaurant that places live music from 5-8pm looking at the notre dame). Honestly, this hotel is not bad at all!! I’d stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was small, but not especially so by Paris standards, decor is a little dated but clean and in good condition. A TV and fridge are provided but as usual in France no tea/coffee making facilities. The bed was firm and I found it very comfortable - I have back problems and am fussy about beds. The bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished - plenty of hot water, towels changed daily - no problems. Our window looked out onto the rather lovely church which as other reviewers have noted is prone to some enthusiastic campanology but they keep it to social hours. There is a lift which appears to be a repurposed phone booth - it says maximum 4 persons - they'd need to be friendly to the point of impropriety - 2 is a squeeze! Breakfast is a standard French cold buffet of cereals, bread, croissants and pain au chocolat along with cold meat and cheese - but the bread and pastries are good and fresh, and there's a pot of fresh coffee and a jug of hot milk which is better than the usual machines. Location is excellent, between 2 restaurants with the stairs to the Metro right by the front door. Happy to recommend this hotel.

I stayed in a single room this last weekend and it's been a lovely stay in a small, budget hotel with no frills. The rooms are nice, completely equipped all the basic amenities that you may need, like a desk with plemty of storage, hangers, etc. They are all ensuite with a new and clean toilet and shower. The location of the hotel is also fantastic. Lovely little neighbourhood with the metro stop of Line 11 literally on the corner which will take you to the main attractions in about 10/15 minutes! The street has plenty of other services like restaurants, cafés, a little supermarket, a pharmacies, a couple of bakeries, etc. You can also see the Eiffel Tower from the distance! Breakfast is also available and it is served in your bedroom between 7 and 10 am, if I remember correctly, so you can have breakfast in your pyjamas :) It is a basic but filling breakfast with tea/coffee, juice, two pieces of bread and a lovely crunchy croissant. Nothing luxurious but just what you need to start the day. The only negative point is the fact that the walls are really thin and if you happen to have noisy neighbours next door it will be a real nuisance. Unfortunately the people in the room right next to mine talked at the top of their lungs and had loud music on right after midnight so I had to knock on their wall several times. Thankfully they stopped eventually and I didn't have to report or ask for a room change at reception. All in all, if you are on a tight budget and want to stay in a cheap and nice place that is well located this is definitely the hotel to go. I would definitely come back and I will recommend it to my friends and family. À la prochaine fois! :)

We were really looking forward to our trip here (booked pre-covid) but then our flights were cancelled 3 months ago due to the pandemic. We contacted the hotel straight away but were told we had booked a non-cancellable and non-transferable room so they were not willing to let us cancel the room. We repeatedly messaged them as various quarantine rules became in force but always with the same result. I then messaged a final time this week due to the Paris curfew (ie e writhing closing at 9pm) to be told “Dear Mr. Smith, You have made a non-modifiable and non-cancellable reservation. The Scarlett hotel is still open. The curfew is from 9pm to 6am and every body must adapt to this exceptional situation. We are sorry to announce you that we can not refund or defer the booking. Best regards, The management” Several other hotels that I and my friends have booked have worked with us to try and compromise (eg take a deposit, defer through booking to 2021 etc) so I am extremely disappointed in the hotel’s attitude. “Non-cancellabe and non-refundable” do not really apply to the conditions we are all living in during 2020 so to have them thrown back in my face by a robotic reservations clerk is frustrating and insulting.

me ad my boyfriend went to this hotel from 26 to 30 of december. the hotel is located in a multi-ethnic part of the city and it is near to the famous Père Lachaise Cemetery. the room is small and cozy even if very small and basic: we had a double bed, a small wardrobe, a window, a television and a very small bathroom. if you are a tourist, who spend all the day around for the city, this is a very good accomodation, since it's near to the subway station. the staff is very kind and helpful.

A nice little hotel in the 20th Arrondissement. Within a easy walk from the métropolitain and the several bus stops. Located on the Rue des Pyrennes, the street is filled with shops featuring meats, cheese, wines, etc. And, a large number of cafes and brasseries nearby so you won't starve. The hotel staff is multi-lingual and very pleasant. Basic amenities. A price friendly alternative to the more expensive "name" hotels.

Do you want to stay somewhere and experience real Paris? You won't find a tour bus stopping here. It is clean and it is affordable. It is also spacious. The wifi worked. There was a tv and a shower. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but there were people everywhere so it was fine. The owners may not speak English as per other commenters. I don't know. As I speak French, it was fine. They were nice. You could probably manage with an easy translation app. It isn't like you are going to discuss much with them anyway so don't let that keep you away. The staircase is definitely unique and challenging so if you have mobility issues, you will need to reconsider. They do help with your luggage though. I will stay here again if I return. Basic French breakfast is provided and it's fine, but we took advantage of the pastry places since we don't get to France much. Restaurants and grocery stores in very close proximity. The bed was a little hard so if you need a plush bed, maybe not your joint.

I have stayed at the Hipotel Paris Gambetta Republic on 236 Rue des Pyrénées on many occasions as I used to live in this part of Paris. The man and woman who normally work there during the day are very nice. I would normally rate this hotel a 3 as it is in a good location and is a good value. On my last visit I stayed there on 28 and 29 December and when I checked out at 12:00 on Sunday 30 December I had a terrible experience. I asked the younger man who was working at Reception if I could leave my small carry on luggage there for a couple of hours and he very rudely and abruptly said no, even though I have done this on a number of occasions in the past. So, I had to carry this around Paris for several hours. In addition, I was rudely told that checkout was 11 am even though their website on Hotels.com clearly says 12:00 noon. This individual who appears not to be a people person should be given some basic training in courtesy and customer service by the Management of this Hotel as well as training on the Hotel’s check out policy. Very disappointing as I have been a frequent guest at this hotel and as I have stayed there on many occasions in the past which is why I am only giving it a rating of 2 on this occasion.

The hotel is easy to reach from Gard de Nord train station being only 6 stops on Metro Line 2 and then a 5 minute walk. However its half way down a small road which is easy to miss in the dark so pay attention. The rooms are based either side of a central passageway and on either the ground or first floor, accessed by stairs, no lifts. I was on the first floor and this was not a problem for me but might be for others. I had a Standard Double Studio which has the bedroom partially separate from the small kitchenette and shower room / toilet. The room was quiet and, although small, normal for Paris. Everything was provided as expected including a nice coffee machine but only 1 coffee capsule and 2 tea bags, as I was there for 4 nights I bought more from the local supermarket. The room was quiet during my stay and neither too hot nor cold. The only negative point I would make is although this was a 'Double' the bed was pushed up against the wall meaning that a second person would have to get out of bed by climbing over the other person or via the end of the bed, fortunately I was on my own but maybe a question to ask booking. Overall the hotel and room met by expectations and I would stay there again,

Great and comfortable hotel if you're looking to save some money and don't mind travelling a bit to get to the city center. Clean, good-sized rooms (especially for French standards); comfortable and large beds; noisy street but with the windows closed you don't hear anything; nice, French breakfast is served in your room at the time you agreed on; tv, a/c, heating in the room; friendly staff. It takes about 20-30 mins by public transport to get to the center of Paris, but the metro is just around the corner and there is a direct bus to Gare du Lyon. Neighborhood is quite nice with different restaurants, bars and bistro's and some shops within 10 mins walking from the hotel. Good value for money and would definitely come back here again!

We stayed in the Residence the weekend that the Paris half marathon was cancelled. It rained a lot, but the Residence was a haven for us to rest up, dry off, and end each day with a good night's sleep. This was the quietest stay we have ever enjoyed in Paris. A warm, well designed room, with a modern cosy feel to it. We were on the 7th floor at the rear of the hotel, and we did not hear a thing at night. Slept very well. Fine views across the city. The Montparnassed tower and Notre Dame clearly visible. Excellent, attentive staff. Very competent, good English speakers, and always it seemed on duty. The breakfast room is bright, clean, spacious and modern, with a generous range of breakfast options. Try the croissants and the jams, delicious. The Residence now becomes our choice of accommodation in Paris from now on.

I picked this hotel primarily because of its proximity to the world famous Père Lachaise Cemetery. Although I had been in Paris before, I had never visited this place where famous people like Oscar Wilde, Chopin and Jim Morrison are interred among many. Moreover, I had only a day in Paris as I was heading elsewhere. The hotel is a three star place. Although nothing spectacular, I found the place extraordinarily clean and comfortable. If you are a light sleeper, I would ask for a room away from the street. Personally, I enjoyed hearing the noises of Paris streets as they lulled me into a slumber, while I imagined that I was in a Peter Seller movie with its police cars blaring their typical Parisienne sirens. The bathrooms were clean and basic. The queen/king sized bed was very comfortable with clean sheets and a very thick daown or faux-down comforter. Although the hotel has a restaurant, I would recommend an early evening stroll along the Rue des Pyrénées. You will come across a number of small shops selling fruits, groceries and find a lot of eateries and bars, where you will find people of the 20th arrondissement where this place is located. The crowds are jovial, friendly, full of life with families included. You can even practice your French with your neighbors as you dig into typical daily French cuisine.

The hotel location is very good, very close to the Arc de Triomphe, a five minute walk to the subway station can also take a direct bus to and from Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airport. Facilities breakfast also fully reached the four-star standard, the gym is relatively small. The front desk is more enthusiastic. There is a little brother who can speak Chinese, which makes communication more convenient.

Stayed at the B&B hotel for three nights while visiting Disney. Anyone looking for a cheap place to stay this is perfect. Hotel is spotlessly clean, really friendly staff, good sized rooms with comfortable beds and shower room. The hotel serves a simple dinner of pasta or pizza which is great, easy to order and quick to come. Breakfast is simple but just want you need at the start of the day. Tables were cleared quickly and everything very clean and presented well. We were worried about the shuttle overcrowding but there are a few services which only run from the B&B hotel and others which go to the other four hotels on the complex which makes it easy. We always got on a bus even if it was busy and never had to wait long! Lockers are available to store luggage if your arrive before your room is ready or check out early. We will be back on our next disney trip!

We recently stayed 3 nights at Le General Hotel (Mar 9-12, 2020). We were warmly greeted by Gaëlle as soon as the doors opened and we’re very impressed by the hospitality through the check in process (take a seat, would you like tea or coffee, enjoy some baked goods). It was the most pleasant experience after a very long day of travel & so nice compared to the typical wait in line at a cold desk waiting for your room key! Gaëlle who welcomed us, also took some time to answer some questions my husband and I had, including giving us some maps (of the local area, and of the Paris city centre/transit map) and offered some suggestions on where to eat and what to visit. She spoke English well, made us laugh & was a great first impression for the hotel (she also didn’t make us feel like were were putting her out)! Our room was very clean, comfortable and well styled for such a small room (which seems common in Paris) - we even had a balcony which was a very nice surprise! I’m not easily pleased at hotels - typically because of the bathrooms, but everything was clean, and no visible Mold in the shower/tub combo and in the corners of the bathroom floors. Great shower pressure & hot hot water, and the (Skinjay) essential oil shower pods were a very nice touch. We slept great - nice comfortable bed & pillows. We had 1 large suitcase, and 2 small wheeled carry on suitcases. The space was tight (we managed to get our large suitcase opened on the floor between the door, bathroom and bed when we needed to access it) but it was enough space for 2 people. Complements to your cleaning staff, the level of clean remained consistent on each day we stayed (fresh bedding/towels), the coffee station (Nespresso!) & complementary bottled water was restocked every day. We were thankful for the small safe in the room (something that wasn’t offered in other hotels I considered). As first time visitors in Paris, we were unsure of the location, but having the Metro station so close (Republique) we were able to take the train in time to see the sunset at the Eiffel Tower on our 1st night, during our sightseeing & took it back to Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG) instead of a taxi to save ourselves (30€) on our way home. We were impressed how easy and clear the metro was to use (we never got lost or confused) and bought t+ tickets (carnet de 10 - 16,90€) for travelling around Paris sightseeing. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, as there were many places we wanted to eat at on our short trip, so we cannot comment on that aspect of our stay. We used the free wifi in the evenings and didn’t have any issues with it, fast & no interruptions in service. On our last day Rachelle, upon checked out, offered to keep our luggage so we could enjoy our last hour in the city before heading to the airport. We had asked about where we could go to buy macarons as we had forgot & ran out of time. Rachelle & Morgane saved the day and offered us a complementary box - talk

For the first time in a hotel model, the century-old building is said to be a historical cultural relics protection unit in Paris, so it is completely banned. My old cigarette can only smoke in a small yard. Miss Luo is very enthusiastic, let us have the feeling of going home. There is a black guy in night shift who speaks Chinese very well. He said that he read a book in Guangzhou. In the morning, the girl named Marty also speaks Chinese. There is no problem at all, and at the same time give us a lot of advice on the tour, much stronger than those that are not reliable. It is very convenient to exit the subway 50 meters away. This area is a safe place for French people to live in. The room is big enough to be the floor-to-ceiling glass window in Europe. Our bedroom is very close to the yard, so the living room is a bit noisy. It is highly recommended to add a Chinese breakfast. It is really not suitable for those cheese breads, and it is better to have Chinese TV. If you have the opportunity to come back to Paris, you will still come to the Paris Residence.

Good location, nearby Carrefour, franprix and other supermarkets! I live on the 2nd floor facing the street, and it is very quiet at night, but the sound insulation between the room and the room is really average. The room is not large and has a balcony (not every room, so it is best to leave a message to tell the room with a balcony when booking) ), There is also a door in the bathroom sharing a balcony with the room, so the balcony is quite large. The hotel only provides shampoo, shower gel and hair dryer. Slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided, so it is recommended to bring your own toiletries. Lines 7 and 10 are only 5 minutes' walk from the surrounding area. Line 4 is about 15 minutes away. The 5th district is a Latin area, surrounded by universities, so it is safe! The hotel has access control locks, staff need to help open the door to enter! Breakfast is an ordinary western-style breakfast, bread, milk, eggs, oatmeal, sausage and cheese. A tax of 1.88 euros per person per night, which must be paid to the front desk when checking out. This Ctrip will also call you when you are in China to inform you that this tax must be paid to the hotel separately! The hotel provides free wlan, but the Internet speed is average, the room has air conditioning and heating. In short, the price is high!

We got a beautiful Junior Suite with Balcony, even in the city and on a street with traffic located, it was very quiet and you couldnt hear anything from outside while the doors are closed. It is very spacious and with a very pretty bathroom with luxury amenities from Hermés! And of course full equipped mini bar with Nespresso coffee machine. The breakfast is delicious and a mix from a la carte and buffet, what I love. So you can have everything what your heart desire. The best is the amazing Akasha Spa!! It is so big and has everything, big indoor pool, big sauna, big steam bath, big jacuzzi and a cold bath. Even if they are many relax beds to lay on, sometimes you are just alone and its like you have a private spa. Friendly and helpful staff all around the hotel! I definitely will return!
