1.19km from downtownThe hotel Poseidon is in a great location, about 5 minute walk from the airport bus stop, 10-15 minute walk to Liseberg and everything else is in walkable distance too. We didn’t feel the need to use public transport at all. The hotel itself is in a lovey old building with helpful and friendly staff. We got there a few hours too early for check in and the reception helped us out by storing our luggage for a few hours so we could go out and come back without all of our luggage! The room itself was lovely! I have stayed in far less pleasant, higher star rated hotels! This room seemed extremely more premium than I was expecting! The breakfast was a really nice spread (buffet style), pretty much everything you might want and served until 10am - which as a non early riser was great! :) I really appreciated the fact that they had non dairy items too! The only two down sides I can think of for this hotel - the beds! At first they seemed comfortable, but oh how I had a back ache really quickly! If you are used to an extremely firm mattress then you won’t have any problems. It seemed like only a mattress topper on a base. The second downside was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room - it would have been great. There is tea and coffee in reception that you can help yourself to. However, only earl grey, and fruit and no standard black tea. Overall though, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel. I feel it’s amazing value for money for the comfort and service you get!
1.2km from downtownWent there with a group of 18 teens, and we had a great stay. Self-check-in worked fine, the rooms were good. Nice and clean hostel, very helpful staff. Just a few minutes walk from the store, and from Universeum.
1.2km from downtownI was staying in the city for only 30 hours. I arrived early and left my pack at the station while I toured. I made my way to Le Mat hostel in the late afternoon. The hostel was close to the main shopping street, Kungsportavenyan and tram stop on routes direct from the station. It is on the 4th and 5th floors of an office block. I was very impressed with the accommodation. My room had two spotless single beds, with towels thereon. The other furniture was limited to a table, chair and a washbasin. Toilets and showers were on the other side of the corridor. The dining area on the 5th floor above had tea and coffee available. For a hostel it was quite a good buffet breakfast on offer with a good choice of cereals, breads and fruit. If I was visiting Göteborg again alone, I would probably stay here but if my wife was with me she would probably expect something a bit less austere.

1.22km from downtownOur room was small enough that it was hard to walk to the other side of the bed. There was only a soap dispenser by the washbasin and not in the shower. Our TV did not work and they knew it but did not tell us untill we complained. They did not clean the rooms or even check if we needed new toilet paper so we had to go fetch it ourselves the this day we stayed. The last day three hour before checkout time our keycards stopt working and the staff had to let us in to our room. They had no idea why this happened. The breakfast was okey but one of the worst hotel breakfasts I have had. When we checked in the first day there was dirt in the corners of the room and one of the sheets had a small hole in it.

Basic and affordable accommodation in great location. Staff were helpful as i phoned them to clarify number of things as id arrive after hours. Got a code texted to me with instructions on where my room was. Got in no bother and found everything needed. Bedding and towels were left for me as you pay a small rental charge to get these. Hostel was clean and comfortable. I had Only one small problem with the wifi as i got the incorrect code sent but i found the correct one on a poster in the lobby by reception.
The location is just opposite the train station bus station (the train station is open). The room was not too big, probably because it was assigned to the top floor, so the layout was strange: a bed was stuck in the corner of a sloping roof wall (a sloping wall in the attic), and a bed stuck to the door. . . . And this room type does not appear in the schematic picture of the room type. The central air-conditioning has no wind, no refrigeration, stayed for two nights, and two nights need to call the front desk to open the window and ventilate (the window itself can not be opened, because the windows on the top floor are locked, afraid of people jumping off the building). On the first night, the male front desk took the tool and unloaded the entire side slanting window. After half an hour of wind, the window was installed. The next day, the other front desk opened the big window in the middle of the way, but at night, because of the fear of rain, it was necessary to close the window and sleep, and it was uneasy (it was raining that day). Breakfast is very good, the bed is big, there is a hot water bottle, the room is also healthy, and the front desk service is not bad. There are some walking attractions nearby. There are big shopping malls nearby, and there are information stations for tourists in the mall. The small supermarket and restaurant in the mall closed at 7 o'clock in the evening. The big supermarket was closed late, and there was McDonald's in the mall. In short, this hotel removes uncooled air conditioners and windows that cannot be opened. Others are not bad.

The hotel itself (rooms, furniture) is in good condition, very new and clean. It seemed like the hotel and the restaurant had just been opened and unfortunately it also seemed that the staff was not very up to date in its duties - at least not in regards to the restaurant services. Maybe they had not worked in this industry before. However, the staff was really friendly which was nice. Considering it’s attached in sport facility, it would be useful to have a fridge in the room as the users are likely to be athletes etc. Also, the rooms did not have any closets or cupboard or anything where to put clothes. Just a couple of hooks on the wall. With these adjustments the room would be absolutely excellent. The hotel is easy to access by tram and has lots of parking space.
The first hotel is a chain, the first hotel to live in Bergen, I think it is very good, the key hotel has a sauna and gym, my husband likes it, breakfast is very good, European style breakfast , everything is there. The location is excellent, just above the train station, the train tracks can be seen directly from the hotel window, and the train timetable is directly visible from the hotel restaurant. The room is also quite spacious, the bathroom has a bathtub, there is also a kettle, shampoo, and the front desk service is also warm. Cost-effective, in short, stay here again next time you come.
Quick summary: clean, quiet rooms in a good neighborhood with groceries, shops, cafes. On-site breakfast (extra charge) is very good. Very near tram and bus lines. Good complimentary wifi. On-site laundry, kitchens, lounges, sauna. Variety of rooms, so ask about your preferences. Key card access to your room and outer doors, i.e. no one wandering in. Very helpful, friendly, professional staff. Disclaimer: This review is based on what I expect of a hostel, which says a lot about the quality here since I am not really a hostel traveler. If I can be comfortable in this hostel, you should be comfortable in this hostel. I was in room #508 by myself, which has two beds; a mattress pad and comforter on each;an open closet with 4 hangers, hairdryer, desk with a small drawer, two desk chairs, luggage rack; fan; and windows that open. This room overlooks a quiet residential street with some restaurants, cafes, small grocery, etc. The bed and pillows were comfortable, as was the room temperature (but it is nice to have these windows that open in any season.) The large windows also provide a nice amount of light, appreciated in winter. A good reading light is over each bed, in addition to the overhead room lights. Complimentary wifi works well. TV's have about 16 channels in Swedish and English, most with captions in the other language. Sheets, bath towels, and breakfast come with nominal charges. Personally, I travel with an extra hand towel in a Ziploc bag when I come here so that I am not always using my bath towel for quick washups. Those who need a washcloth should plan accordingly. Clean WC and showers - lock for privacy - throughout the buildings. Breakfast is a fairly large cold buffet of excellent breads and rolls, meats, cheeses, fish, hard and soft boiled eggs, cereals (and toppings,) butter and jams, (dairy and oat), yogurts, mixed fruits, juices, coffee and tea. Also to note: you can put together an excellent sandwich for a later picnic for about 15 SEK - a real deal!!! They will wrap it for you. There is also a pool table in the breakfast room. Nice lounges are scattered throughout the two buildings - -couches, tables, games, toys, books, etc. throughout the lounges, kitchen, hallway. There is a kitchen in each of the two buildings, with tables, room to cook (stoves, microwave, etc.) Well-fitted equipment: pots, pans, glasses, cups, tableware, tea maker, toaster, etc. There are two refrigerators in each, that get full depending on how many people are staying who need a lot of grocery space (or not.) Our kitchen had room in the fridges for a variety of things; one fridge in the other building was packed. Stuff to clean up after yourself in the kitchen is provided, i.e. dish soap, washing tools and cloths, etc. If any guests have a problem with unclean dishes or fridges, it is a matter of the people staying there, not the staff. Even when we are staying when the hostel seems pretty ful
On a business trip, it was very cold and it was a weekend. The hotel reception was very enthusiastic and helped us to move our luggage, especially the first floor small bar and the cake after 4 o'clock was very good and intimate. Breakfast is also very rich, will come again next time...
I took the children to Gothenburg and chose this Hotell Liseberg. It turns out that this is a good choice. The hotel is very close to the two favorite places of Liseberg Amusement Park and Universum, about 5-7 minutes walk. . The staff at the hotel were very friendly and welcoming, and I was impressed by Jenny and Mia, making us feel at home. There is a parking lot outside the hotel. It is very convenient to drive. It is also about 15 minutes walk from Central Station, and the traffic is convenient. The breakfast at the hotel is very fresh, although the variety is not particularly good, but the quality is very good. The hotel also has a microwave and ice machine for the convenience of the guests, very intimate. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the hotel's children's playroom, children can stay indoors and have a good time in the rain. Next time we come to Gothenburg, we will also choose to stay at this hotel.
The layout of the hotel is strange, but I think I read that it was a former prison, which made it sort of fun. long rows of buildings, and within each a long hallway with small rooms; bed up in loft area so if someone (like my wife) needs to go pee several times a night, it's a long haul down a narrow staircase, and past the front room to a small bathroom near the door. But nice rooms. We chose to stay out here because a family member lived nearby. Far from town, but perfect for us. decent breakfast buffet. rooms were clean and quiet.
You’ll see red and more red at this very unique posh bordello inspired hotel. Breakfast was the most opulent we had in Europe. Guests are all rich and hip. There was a small service snafu and Josephine at the front desk responded with grace, which translated from Swedish was champagne and a sincere and elegant apology. This has got to be one of the most interesting romantic stays in Sweden.
The facilities are very European aristocratic style hotel, just out of the train station! Welcome fruit, coffee, refreshments at the front desk, quite generous and welcoming! Garden breakfast, rich variety, feels great! Highly recommended hotel!
Very good service and big rooms whit very comfortable beds good facilities:)
The breakfast is rich and suitable for traveling with children. There is also a small place for children to play in the hotel. The location of the hotel is also very good. It is only a 3-minute walk from the central station.
Like the name of the hotel, the fresh and elegant feeling, the hotel is very good, the location is very good, the surrounding is commercial and convenient shopping, a hotel that I like very much, cost-effective.
When you try to browse for hostels in Goteborg, you are left with very few choices and when you look at STF Hostel Stigbergsliden, you'll think it's not so central. Well, you're right, but the thing is, the location is very convenient. It's very close to several important landmarks, situated in a very good community and close to the central station- you can take the tram in front of the street or walk. The price is average when you look at it in a Scandinavian perspective. There's no problem with security as well. Rooms are cozy, there's a sufficient number of showers and bathrooms for the guests. Beds are ok as well. The only problem is they don't have a 24 hour front desk/ staff. So if you are leaving late, there's no chance of leaving your bags within the premises.
The hotel is awesome, the rooms are large and very historical, it should belong to a good hotel in Gothenburg. The corridor is lined with parquet mosaics, which are particularly beautiful. Crossing a bridge leads to the town hall and a large shopping mall. Breakfast was average.
Hotel is located in the hearth of the city and very easy to walk around.
It is a nice hotel with great service!
The hotel feels good overall, about fifteen minutes walk from the gallery. There are underground and above-ground parking lots. If you arrive at the hotel late, you can only stop underground. There are more than twenty parking spaces on it but they will also be full. Hotel breakfast is good, standard Western breakfast. The taste of the dinner was quite satisfactory, and I decided to go outside once after having eaten it.
This is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. The staff are welcoming, the rooms/facilities are spotlessly clean and the beds are comfortable. There is a kitchen that is also available for you to use. What made a big difference for me was how well thought out the rooms were. They were not too crowded (my room contained 6 beds). Each bunk had its own power outlet and basket to hold valuables, each bed had a privacy curtain, and lockers were also provided. It’s clean, the facilities provided were top notch. I can’t grumble at all. The only word of caution I’d offer is that this hostel really is just a place to sleep. There wasn’t a bar or any social events held there. If you’re travelling alone and want to find a social experience that will help you to meet other people, there may be better options around.
Went there with a group of 18 teens, and we had a great stay. Self-check-in worked fine, the rooms were good. Nice and clean hostel, very helpful staff. Just a few minutes walk from the store, and from Universeum.
Very friendly staff, everything is very clean and tidy, well equipped, in a very good location. The only complaint is the beds and the missing casserole in the oven.
Colleagues have been on a business trip, and have booked many times. . . . Breakfast is still relatively rich, and, the environment is also better. More reliable brand. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
+Free sauna +Free gym +free breakfast +Best sushi in town! -small bathroom We were staying this hotel with my boyfriend and two dogs. This is probably best hotel for this pricerange you can find! We had only pleasant surprises, as free sauna (one steam sauna and one original one), so if you are staying, use this opportunity! Staff was pleasant, helpfull and kind. It was good that I was able to bring dogs with us as well to this hotel. Lobbybar/restaurant had beyond awesome, fresh sushi made by the hotel chef. Highly recommended this as well! Free breakfast. We came quite late, at ten~ish, but there was staff bringing all the time more food that was running out. Many variants, even for vegetarians. I am very pleased to our stay in this hotel. Only downside was quite small bathroom where I hit my head in the sink when I was in the bathroom. This might cause some troubled gor bigger persons. Also bring your own hairdryier if needed. Hotelroom had one, but it is very old.
Sankt Jörgen Spa is open aired Hotel and spa. This hotel has really taken advantage of the space and made a really cool hotel! The Hotel lobby is big and relaxing. In the spa it seems to be two bracelets, one blue and one red. The red is for the whole spa including the quiet zone and the spa treatment. There is plenty to do at the spa, there are swings for two on second floor (about 6 of them), a huge pool inside and two pools outside in the pool lounge. The smaller pool outside is 38 degres warm and is big enough to sit in, the bigger pool is 33 degres and swimable. There are plenty of bathbeds outside and some inside as well. There are different saunas, everyone was lovely except for the steam sauna that was filthy and smelled awfull like mold When there is a lot of people in the spa, it can be a pretty loud volume and starting to look more like a bath house than a spa. And bathbeds are beeing reserved even though their users are far from the area. When there is big companies in the spa, there should also be a worker keeping an eye on the spa and especially now during Corona. And bann the use of phones if you cant use them only to surf or take photos. There is a common use, mostly by youths to use the phone and play music or video without earphones. There are 4 restaurants at the Hotel, we only saw two. One coffeplace at the spa and one diningroom open during Corona. The restaurant Inez & Ernst we visited was lovely furnished, nice decoration! The days dish of Fish or meat was in the price of 30€ or you could order ceasarsallad, club or scrimpsandwich at the price of 20€. Before desciding what to eat we asked if the food of 30€ was small and served on big plates. We received the answer that if you are hungry they recommend you to order a pree-course before dinner. We ordered a Caesar sallad and a shrimpsandwish, water included. The price of 50€. My husband was disapointed of the Ceasarsallad, didnt find it to be anything special and belived the price was to expensive. I ate the shrimpsandwich and found it to be okey.. small flaws again though. The bread could be with an extra slice and some more mayonnaise and keep the amount of shrimps. We ordered two snack bags of nuts after our meal at the reception at the price of 5€/piece. There is a Refrigerator in the room so I recomend to take some lightversionen food with you. There is also a safetybox in the room, easy to use and coffee/Tea. The room was big and beautiful. The beds are okey, thought they would be more like Elite Plaza Hotel, so that was a bit disapointed on the hardness and the pillows. On room 119 the bed was squeeky and if someone moves a furniture in the room above you sure can hear it! The windows are facing to the lobby, great view, soundproof windows and blackout curtains! They should move forward the bedframe cause if it stands to close to the wall and the nextdoor room shuts their door hard, your bedframe vibrates and if you are leaning against it and not prepared
Good location, you can order again
Transportation, hotel service, breakfast, everything in the neighborhood is thoughtful! Gothia Towers Hotel can meet my different needs and get great value.
Me and the wife recently found some very cheap flights to Gothenburg and doubled down on a great value long weekend by booking this very reasonably priced hotel (we roughly paid around £250 for 4 nights). It had everything we wanted when we weren’t planning on spending much time in the hotel; four walls, a roof, a decent bed, tv and a great shower. The staff were all fantastic and it was a good location to everything that’s going on in the city (around ten minute walk to the main centre, about the same distance to the train/ bus station). Issues with this hotel; - Housekeeping is hit and miss, we had dust everywhere around our room and you could tell the floors don’t get a good sweep. - The hotel is very noisy at the minute, I think some rooms are getting renovated so there’s a lot of banging about come 7am. - Tea and coffee are only available in the breakfast room. Albeit 24/7 but there’s no kettle in the room. This doesn’t bother me too much as we were out for breakfast every day but some people will hate this. Overall this is a totally fine hotel at a great price. You get what you pay for!
We had to be close to the hospital so this place was excellent. Also next to the botanic garden which is very nice to have close-by (and recommendable). The hotel offered micro-wave meals which was excellent for us. The room was okay as was the breakfast. Room size much better than at other hotels we have stayed at in Göteborg for similar prices. Good public transport connections and other services at the hotel.
