      The hotel was built on a private plot next to the parents' house, some garden with chickens and peacocks was preserved. A small koi pond near the main building, next to a wooden terrace, near the pool and a small bar where you can relax. Some fitness equipment is located under the roof of the parents' home with a view to the parking lot. The complex lies in a quiet cul-de-sac. The "Night Bazaar" can be reached on foot in 20 minutes. A few hundred meters away is a Minimart and Isaan cuisine is also offered nearby. Our room had incl. sanitary area floppy 12m², not as advertised on "booking.com", 15 m². The price-performance ratio is also, as claimed, not given. In our room with a small double bed on the wall, next to the entrance door, there was no closet, only five coat hangers on a rack above the small refrigerator. No little table in the room, but a small shelf under the cheap, puny TV screen - this, by the way, did not provide a programme selection worth mentioning. There is also a washbasin in the too small room. The kettle had to be operated on the floor, because the cable was too short and all sockets are mounted at skirting board height. The toilet seat is stately, but a shaky 99,- Baht seat was mounted on it. Shower water pressure is not overwhelming. A pungent smell from the canal didn't exactly lift our spirits either. A completely unnecessary, small gradation from the bathroom into the room also carries the risk of falling! Of course, one heard of the narrow passage outside, every coming and going. Swimming pool's fine. Breakfast is not worth mentioning...but all right. Conclusion: bed is comfortable, Aircon perfect. Internet with dropouts unreliable. Cleaning soso, only one coffee cup with coffee mixture and small shampoo bags as well as the usual two water bottles are in the room. At this price you can get more beautiful, spacious rooms in a central location.

      Clean and tidy room, got a room with two beds, which did not make the room to small which was perfect, also i got a street view which was pretty nice. The free breakfast was nice as well, small portion but delicious. The staff was really nice and welcoming, stay there for three days and had great service. The location is off the main street road so that is good less traffic, but walking distance to any food restaurant or the locate bazaar.

      Loved the staff at the hostel, very resourceful, funny with great personalities. Although a bit rudimentary, the hostel is inclusive of breakfast and you can enjoy free coffee (not all staff members know how to actually work the coffee maker though), cold water and snacks all day. The premises are clean, there is someone cleaning pretty much all day! The hostel also offers various tours in Chiang Mai & surroundings, they are reasonably priced, I booked 2 different tours with them and was happy with both. There is a rooftop terrace where guests can hangout during evening/night. You can also buy soft drinks, bottles water, beer and liquor on-site. The one thing that isn’t ideal though is the location, there isn’t much around the hostel and you’re about 20-25 min walk from the market/nightlife. Same thing if you want an ATM or exchange money, you will have to walk 15 min minimum. Hostel is on 4 different floors, so there are lots of stairs! Overall, I did enjoy my stay and would return despite not being conveniently located.

      Just what you’d expect from a Shangri-La. Stellar service, well-appointed rooms and facilities, spotlessly clean, quiet. We opted for the Club floor. Definitely recommend doing the same. Large luxurious room. Perks such as inclusive breakfast and happy hour. Best of all was the staff. They were unfailingly friendly and helpful. That is particularly noteworthy because we visited during the COVID-19 crisis and in the midst of a colossal downturn in tourism. The staff must have been under enormous stress. It did not show. They were the model of grace and professional under pressure. Large well-equipped gym. Nice pool area with plenty of lounge chairs available. Easy walking distance to the night market. Lots of restaurants and services nearby. Note - Because of Covid-19 some of the facilities were not available (eg the Club Lounge was closed). Nonetheless the hotel has done a good job of making guests comfortable in the remaining facilities. Can’t complain under the circumstances. Second Note - This is a tough time for people in the tourism industry. If you can afford it (and if you’re staying at a Shangri-La, you can) reach into your pocket and tip GENEROUSLY and often. A couple of dollars or Euros may seem like nothing to you but it will put food on the table for servers’ families. We saw lots of people drink copious amounts of wine for free at the happy hour, then walk out without tipping the servers. Seriously folks????

      The apartment in Astra is an apartment building with many of the same homestays in Airbnb. I chose this because many people mentioned that they had to prepare a hotel reservation with a guest name, and the order on the Airbnb did not have a name. It was discovered in the local area that this certificate is not needed. Talk about this apartment, go to the building in advance and add his family WeChat according to the instructions of the building staff, but no one has confirmed it, so I went to the supermarket next to the purchase, and I still call the business without telling me to stay. This only mentions the Locker number and password. If the merchant can send the information actively, and the WeChat added to the next day to confirm the operation of adding friends, do not know what is the use? The room was still clean, but the lights in the bedroom had three broken switches and only one was available on the bed. The room does not provide slippers, go to the children's shoes, remember to prepare yourself, or simply barefoot

      Very good, from the location, facilities, services are not impeccable, especially based on this price, there is really nothing to say, I saw a review saying that the toilet in the twin room is close to the bed. I think it's okay and acceptable, especially there is no odor at all, and the hygiene is good. There is room cleaning service every day.It is very meticulous. Two free drinking water are available every day. The air conditioning in the room is very good. The sound is very small and special. It is adjusted to 26 degrees at night. There is a volume of air volume and almost no noise can be heard. The quality of the bed is good, the quilt is really silk, thin, warm and breathable, and it is not stuffy.I have stayed at many hotels at home and abroad. I have never seen a hotel with a silk quilt. The boss is more luxurious!

      The location of Chala Hotel is very good. It is located in the center of the ancient city, opposite the temples of famous attractions, and there are schools nearby. In the evening, students can sit and chat at the entrance of the hotel, which is very comfortable. The hotel is exquisite and small, but the scenery is everywhere and the design is good.       Loved my stay here! The service was amazing, and every member of staff I came across was polite and helpful. First night here I stayed in the Executive Suite (Picture attached are of this room) which was perfect, with plenty of space and an amazing view. I returned to stay again 5 days later and this time stayed in a Club double room which was clean, lovely and a great night sleep. Everything you need is included in the room. Breakfast buffet was great with plenty of options with stations for Asian food, bakery, fruit, noodles, English breakfast, eggs, cheese and meats, and fresh juices. Definitely will be back!
