We return year after year to this amazing hotel, simply because we have never found another place quite like it. And this year even with the COVID restrictions it didn’t disappoint. All the precautions are in place to make sure everyone feels safe but it certainly hasn’t taken away the relaxed chilled out vibe The Urban Beach brings. The rooms are clean, spacious, quirky and unique. The food and drink is out of this world! The staff are amazing and they worked so hard to make sure our stay was special. A special shout out to the manager Mark who is a top guy. He genuinely takes the time to get to know his guests and make sure they have a wonderful stay. A big thank you to you Mark and all of your team you all do a fantastic job. We will see you again soon!

Stayed between here and next door The Strand hotel which are owned by the same owner Rowan on and off for two weeks whilst waiting for my flat relocating to Bournemouth. Cosy rooms, tea coffee kettle in your room, lovely clean bathrooms. There is a mini kitchen on the first floor which was perfect for me as on a bit of a tight budget I could just cook ready meals for dinner and keep some food in the fridge whilst at work, especially as I was staying for longer than 2 nights each stay. I always got a parking spot out the front and there is Boscombe high st 5/10 min walk to get food or shopping. I didn’t go to the beach but only 15 min walk I can imagine. I didn’t have breakfast purely because I was skint but the breakfast room looked lovely! Rowan was really nice and asked me how my first day at the new job which was nice to be asked. Would recommend here to any of my friends and family if they come and visit 😊 thank you for having me

The Manager was very friendly on arrival. He had saved us a car parking space. We were in Room 1 and instantly felt like we in luxury. Lovely king size bed and big TV. Beautiful bathroom with lovely big bath for two. Room clean and over looking garden. Very peaceful. Breakfast- wow!!!!!!! so much choice and the English Cooked Breakfast was by far the best breakfast in years. The Bacon and Sausages were excellent quality and the mushrooms melted in your mouth. Lovely lady who served us and a good cook. Also has free WI-FI with speedy connection. Will book here again.

We only booked a few days before going. This was within our price range. We were given a small double at booking. The room was really quite large with a huge bed. Everything we needed was there, but nothing else. Very Clean and tidy. Maybe in need of a little TLC soon. We were advised they were only offering a continental breakfast at the moment, what we had was plentiful and tasty. Staff were very polite at all times. Would certainly book again if we are looking to go back to this area. It is well placed for both town and beach, just a couple of minutes walk in each direction

We chose this place for a 2 night stay as a result of a tip off, and it proved ideal. It's well located: a 5 minute walk in one direction takes you to Boscombe town centre, whilst in the other you find yourself in the Chine Gardens. These are pleasant enough in themselves, but if you walk all the way through them, you find yourself at Boscombe Pier and the seafront. As others have said, you receive a warm welcome, and this cheery helpfulness is maintained throughout your stay. Breakfasts are excellent; the Full Dorset(!) was less huge than you can get at some places, but it's ample, with the emphasis being on freshly cooked, good quality ingredients. We had room 5, which appears to be the one on the above photo. Clearly, it's not the last word in swish decor or mod cons bathroom, but it's extremely comfortable, with a good sized bed and more storage and breathing space than some hotels that we've been in. The tea/coffee making facilities are well above average, and the daily bottle of water was much appreciated. We had no disturbance at all from other guests, and we had no problem parking on site. At £100 for a couple for 2 nights, including breakfast, what's not to like?!?

The Chine is a large, comfy-bed hotel with a good space The Chine is a large, comfy-bed hotel with a good space once your inside the room. The bathroom needs a little work and while everything was clean and tidy, an old sliding bathroom door didn’t close properly and the shower unit/head was over-sized which resulted in it falling out of position constantly. i.e. You pretty much had to hold it up for it to work. Generally though, the staff were friendly and the location is a nice one, maybe a bit on the edge of all the other hotels you see along the front but – in truth – no complaints as we checked that out beforehand. The only disappointment was that we were hoping to leave our luggage for the day, it was the Bournemouth Marathon and my other half was running it. However, because they’re now closed for a while, we were informed we couldn’t and that was that. So whilst I spend the day pushing/pulling around suitcases and bags, there’s no luggage places in Bournemouth for storage, please someone open one, but it would have been helpful to have some guidance on any other options, or other Hotels, we could have used. Oh, didn't use to any of the mentioned facilities though, as they were also closing them early. Breakfast was decent enough, it wouldn’t be worth £13.50 though as it’s machine coffee and self-serve, but was luckily included with the room. These are all extras though, the bed was super comfy and that always helps me, just disappointed I couldn’t explore the town due to the above reasons but… my other half did finish her first marathon and on our first visit! So that’s good, isn’t it?

The hotel was a nights stay over the bank holiday weekend with amazing weather, we got a great deal on the booking from trip.com. The location was good with a 10-15 min walk to Bournemouth pier and we love to stroll there. The car park at the hotel was free as most hotels in Bournemouth charge a daily price. The breakfast in the morning was good , with a self service buffet. Room was standard double, not like a travel lodge but for a sleep night was fine. Staff were lovely and friendly, very helpful to when we asked for extra pillows.

We're close to the golden sands of Bournemouth Beach, plus all the thrills of Bournemouth Pier - so catch a lively dance performance at Pavilion Dance South West, meet some creatures from under the sea at Oceanarium or catch your favourite star performing at the o2 Academy Bournemouth. And after a day exploring beautiful Bournemouth, have a scrumptious dinner in our in-house Thyme restaurant before drifting off in your extra comfy Hypnos bed.

The first impressions are not good - the outside of the old building is very jaded and needs painting at least. The welcome was nice and, as usual in Premier Inns, the staff do their best. The reception area with a view into the office is poor. The rooms were fine and up to Premier Inn standard - nice and clean. We had a big room with an extra heater. The restaurant area needs some updating and is not entirely clean - window ledges need wiping and peeling paint on the floor. It wasn't overly busy when we arrived but the tables were in dire need of clearing and cleaning. Breakfast - ordered and served to the table. Toaster that dropped toast directly onto the table top, hard bacon, hard egg. Very few staff around. Overall, I expect better from a Premier Inn and probably wouldn't stay at this one again in the near future.

The Balincourt is a refreshing place to stay in the Bournemouth area. The hotel is easy to find and provides off road parking in the hotel grounds. My wife and I received a warm and informative welcome from Harps who is clearly working very hard to deliver a first class service to her guests; her friendly, approachable manner and willingness to help us with all manner of requests during our two night stay was a refreshing change in an industry that is all too often dogged by indifference. We used the lounge bar on both evenings for pre and post dinner drinks and found a good selection of beverages at very reasonable prices. There was a very good selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereal at breakfast and the Full English Cooked Breakfast was one of the better ones I have have tasted. The hotel is a short five to ten minutes walk from the sea front (depending on which route you take) via the chines. All in all I would highly recommend staying at The Balincourt.

Not the first time I’ve stayed here, so it’s certainly not all bad. Convenient, reasonably priced accommodation for town and beach. Our room was clean, but on the ground floor and there was noise from cars parking outside at night. The walls were also very thin and there was a lot of noise from children in the room next door, from the early hours, plus running down the corridor from 5.30am. Good social distancing measures have been put in place, it’s not the fault of the staff that lots of customers were ignoring them. Only putting face masks on when approaching the desk, or the restaurant area, rather than wearing them in corridors out of sight. Criticisms - car parking. The underground car park is awkward to get around due to a large number of metal pillars (obviously necessary to hold the building up), but that’s no excuse for some of the parking in there. Cars were blocking multiple spaces making the limited spaces inadequate. We needed to park down a road a short walk away. Staff we’re unable to do anything about the appalling parking skills of several drivers. The plus side was that parking a short walk away was actually free as opposed to paying. Breakfast was good and well organised. Again, a small criticism was the table cleaning routine. Tables were cleaned adequately. But chairs had a mere swipe across the seat with a cloth. No attention was paid to the areas that hands would touch before eating, such as the backs of the chair (pulling the chair out to sit down) or the edges of the seat (where it will be held to pull the chair back under the table while sitting on it). Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful.

We were looking for a hotel that did a 6 night bed, breakfast and dinner package. We decided on this one out of the five available in the area, so pleased that we did! The room we chose was a standard double which we found very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept really well. There were lots of thoughtful touches in the room which were much appreciated. Anything that needed replenishing could be left outside your door and would be replaced by the time you returned in the evening. The cookies were a lovely touch! The bathroom was well appointed with lovely toiletries, gorgeous thick towels and a very nice shower. We did find the floor of the shower quite slippery but after asking at Reception they provided us with a shower mat which solved the problem. Both breakfast and dinner was served in the Arbor restaurant. We found the food to be absolutely delicious. The presentation was of a very high standard and we can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed every meal. Big thanks to the chef and the team for working so hard with the food preparation and service. After dinner we would go into the bar for a drink which was very pleasant. The staff in this hotel are definitely it's biggest asset. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We really appreciated how hard they worked to make our stay a lovely one. We would definitely recommend a visit and look forward to returning.

My husband chose this hotel for a short break away and we had read it was dog friendly.we arrived at 1.30 on the first day of our stay and was told we couldn't book in until 3 .no worries we walked into town via the beach and got back about 4.very good covid precautions .we had to wear a mask whilst in the hotel and had our temperature taken on booking in.we were given our room key and evening menu and forms for prebooking breakfast the next morning.we got to our room.lovely big bed and everything was cleaned well.lovely clean bathroom but there was an awful damp musty smell pervading the room and seemed worse in the bathroom and seemed to get worse during the length of our stay.the bed was quite hard but bedding was clean and fresh.and 6 pillows which was nice.towels were very clean and white.there was no hairdryer in the room but we managed to get one from reception. We went to the harvester in Boscombe for the evening ..again dog friendly.we got up for breakfast the next morning and was told we had to eat in the bar.a big empty room with two tables our breakfast was brought out in stages.first the cooked breakfast.5 minutes later the juice and condiments then the toast and cutlery.the breakfast was vile for want of a better word.cheapest sausages which had been deep fried beyond all recognition the bacon shattered on touch the eggs were rubbery .the only saving grace was the tomatoes.the toast was medium sliced bread which had barely seen the heat.the fruit was tinned fruit salad.not a very pleasant experience at all.we were asked if we would like an evening meal.....if it was anything like breakfast forget it!!!. The cleaning staff were very friendly and thorough.cant say the same about reception staff unfortunately.the breakfast was just as bad the next day..so much so that we didn't bother on the third day.most hotels are graded for their breakfast and this hotel was let down badly by the standard.would we return.not at its present standards.it is a very tired run down hotel with bad breakfasts.the only saving grace is the fact its dog friendly.but saying that we were made to feel like second class citizens by being asked to use the scruffy bar to eat in.

My wife and I decided to book a weekend away in Bournemouth to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Having looked at the various hotels on offer we chose the Park Central, largely for its location, very near the seafront, in the middle of the town and the value for money. We booked direct with the hotel which was cheaper than Trivago, Booking.com or any of the other 'bargain' websites. They also offered inclusive parking. We booked an Executive room. All the staff we encountered, especially Alise on reception, were polite, helpful and making every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The room we were allocated (307) was clean, tidy, had a sea view, well equipped with plenty of hanging and drawer space, good size TV, desk / dressing table, kettle, coffee maker, mini fridge. The en suite bathroom was clean and tidy and stocked with toiletries. We chose to eat out but came back to the Bar / Restaurant for a nightcap. The restaurant is perhaps the key feature of the hotel, being bright modern with views over the pier and seafront. The pianist playing in the restaurant made it more welcoming and pleasant than 'just another restaurant'. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries and a number of cooked options. We both had the Full English which was excellent. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. we enjoyed our stay, the service was excellent and very good value for money.

Came here on an organised dance weekend which was great value so was not expecting much. However the hotel is large, clean and they are modernising the bedrooms so it was luck which one you got. Ours wasn't but it was large enough, clean and adequate. The bar area was really friendly, the staff were helpful and considering we were a large party, and they had other parties in too, the evening meals were really decent, as was breakfast. Situated really close to the centre and beach it was a pleasant surprise. Parking is limited and costs £10 a night but you may be lucky and get a on-road space or there is a public carpark across the road. Would be very happy to visit again.

We stayed here for half term with my husband and children. The location of this hotel was spot on. The room we stayed in was 306. The views were fantastic so pleasing to the eye. We had breakfast for two morning and it was lovely as much as you could eat cereals, croissants, toast and a really tasty full English breakfast. The waitress and waiter on our first morning were very attentive sorry o didn’t get theirs names. Anna was very pleasant who served us on our second morning and also worked on reception. She told us there are rooms being completely renovated. So I am now looking forward to booking again for next year hopefully with the same view and customer service.

Stayed for one night as visiting BIC with a friend. Had to wait a while on the doorstep as door was kept locked to ask where to park as no room in car park, the chap (I think it was the owner) advised me to park in hotel across the road. Had to wait again on doorstep to be let back in to check in, the chap was ok but not overly welcoming & said I had to pay before the stay & joked ‘in case I did a runner’. We were in a twin room on the top floor. Room was spacious & warm. Very clean. Beds were comfortable. There was tea & coffee provided but no biscuits. Shower was hot but no working fan in the room (room 20), so got a bit steamed up quickly. Breakfast was serve yourself cereal etc & hot food to order. Overall fine for a short stay.

If your looking for a good value, clean & convenient Hotel in Bournemouth this is the one to book. It by far exceeded our expectation. Small car park on site probably holds about 12 cars. First impressions; reception clean and staff friendly & helpful . The hotel has recently undergone a refurbishment, freshly decorated interior & new beds & mattresses ( very comfortable). Our room was very clean with Tea & Coffee making facilities . Shower room again clean with lots of hot water. Comfy beds & flat screen tv. In the morning an excellent breakfast served by friendly efficient staff. It’s a two star hotel which probably deserves to be three star! Would highly recommend this budget hotel and will return. Our experience started before we arrived. My friend booked this place after we had a bad experience booking elsewhere. My friend rang up and spoke to the lovely chris who was so helpful. When we arrived we met Chris on arrival who ran through the covid procedures. He showed us our room and it was very cute and basic just what we needed. When you first walk into the room you instantly smell how clean it is, you are literally hit by a smell of just cleaned room which was very reasurring. There was even a fan in the room to keep us cool if needed. The en-suite was small but perfect for us. The beds are so comfy. There is tea/coffee facilities in your room and a little fridge to. It is a bit of a trek into town but again its worth it, as after talking to others people when we were out people were paying double/triple what we paid. The walk to the beach is the same, when say a bit of a trek its only like a mile or so. We would return in a heartbeat here. We highly recommend this establishment. It's quirky exterior, friendly staff and great price was the perfect ingredients for our girly weekend away. X

A forced hotel, especially a sea-view room, as shown in the picture, is a first-line sea view. You can see the sea in the morning when you open your eyes. At night, you can hear the delicate sound of the waves and fall asleep. The room type is comparable to the previous British hotel. Very spacious. The other is room service. The cleaning service not only rearranged the bed and made up the bathroom supplies, but also helped me stack the clothes that I changed out neatly (as shown in Figure 1). The last highlight is the breakfast (as shown in Figure 3). The type is self-service. The taste and texture are great. If you sit outside, you can also enjoy the dining experience of the first-line sea view. The overall experience is worthy of full marks. If I come to Bournemouth next time, I will still choose this one.

We booked to stay in the Chocolate Box Hotel so we could visit our son for his 21st birthday. On arrival we got our car parked in the car park which looked small but they managed to squeeze all the cars in without any issues. As we visited whilst under Covid19 restrictions we had to were as face covering when in the public area, we were checked in very quickly and taken to our room. The room was lovely and clean with a homely feel to it, and to our surprise my mother in law had called ahead and booked a chocolate fountain with fresh strawberries and marshmallows for my wife's as a belated birthday treat, The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept with no problems, the bathroom was clean and the shower was very controllable with good water pressure. Due to Covid19 restrictions the restaurant was off limits but they supplied a breakfast in a bag outside your door in the morning (the bacon rolls are amazing) There is chocolate in the rooms and tea and coffee making facilities and if you run out you can help yourself to extra in reception. We will be definitely returning here hopefully by then restrictions will be lifted and we can get the full experience of this amazing hotel

Stayed last Saturday with my son. Very pleased we chose this one, good value for money in a quiet area, very nice hotel, friendly staff, great little pool and jacuzzi. Super location so close to the beach and fantastic playground nearby. We walked to Bournemouth pier along the seafront and had food on the seafront at a lovely place to eat along the way. We'll be back to explore more of the area as this was a short visit. Oh and great breakfast too in the morning. Only thing I'd change for next visit is to be sure my room is in the main hotel; we arrived on Sat eve so maybe we had the last allocation - the room was fine, but would have preferred to have been in the main part or to have known when booking the room would be in the apartment block. It did the job though and the hotel was very busy that weekend too.

We were not planning to stay in Bournemouth on our trip round the south west, so were apprehensive about Bamboo as we found it last minute when most other places were fully booked. What was wrong? Well to be truthful, this place is great! Good location in the city, well presented and decorated, great host and a decent price. Breakfast was really impressive with a top selection that, due to the current COVID situation, had to be served by our host, which he was more than happy to oblige. The room we had was small, but perfectly acceptable with a decent bathroom. I’m quite tall, do always a tick in the box when the shower head is a decent height!! 👍 A few things to work on in my opinion are that 1) our room could have done with a bit of a better clean, not a major point, but the blinds were dirty, 2) the guesthouse sign outside could be clearer as we drove around the block a few times before finding and 3) The check in time could do with updating as we arrived as advertised but the room wasn’t ready yet. Saying that, the guy is having to do extra cleaning due to COVID with a baby just arrived.... can’t really argue with that, just need to update the website! One thing to call out that was very impressive was the way he dealt with one set of other guests who ignored the breakfast rules stated on welcome for which he had to waste and replace must if the food as they went round touching everything, letting them know in no uncertain terms what it meant. In these strange times partner and I were very happy to hear people being called on it’ well done. Would definitely recommend Bamboo if you are in the area.

Where to start? At the beginning I guess. Family of four we arrived with our mountain bikes in the morning. Check in isn’t until 3pm so we cycled to Sandbanks and back with a stop off for food in one of the beech front cafes. We returned to the hotel at 4pm and locked the bikes in the parking area with a D-lock around my eldest and my bike and a combination cable lock around all 4. After swimming around 5:45 i returned to the bikes only to discover all the cables on my bike had been cut, the front end dismantled and my front suspension forks removed. It was only after that shock, I discovered the cable lock had also been cut and my sons new mountain bike also stolen. Despite having a cctv camera, the bike area is poorly lit. It’s obvious the thief’s knew what they wanted because they left my wife’s bike unlocked. I was so concerned about the security at the hotel and the risk of being targeted again, I left the family there to eat and drove the 3 hours with whatever was left of our bikes home. By the time I had returned it was 10:30pm so I couldn’t have anything to eat. The police are involved but I’m not holding my breath for a positive resolution. We stayed in room 221 which overlooks the flat roof to the hotel. The room was cramped because the boys essentially slept on the floor on what can only be described as moveable mattresses. Once we got ourselves sorted and made just enough room to walk around it, we went to bed. The room was really warm, so my wife decided to open one of the windows. That’s when she realised the lock was broken and could easily be opened from the outside. What with the bike incident and now the security concern of the room, we got hardly any sleep. To make matters worse, the only breakfast slot we could book during check in was 7:30am, so that morning we were walking around the hotel like zombies. We had to ask for another kettle because ours was broken and so was the hinge to the cupboard door. Breakfast itself was akin to school canteen food. I know we are in a COVID environment, but it seemed this gave the hotel a reason to go cheap and cheerful. On entry they ask if you want tea or coffee. You are given mugs there and then. You are then asked if you want continental or full English. That’s your only choices. We order full English then sat at our table. Our order arrived trays which had a plate with some scrambled eggs, two anaemic sausages, some bacon, baked beans and a small tomatoes. That came with a bottle of orange juice and a strawberry yogurt. Needless to say, we cancelled the breakfast for the following morning. We had a nice walk along the coast that day which eventually woke us up and had a nice meal in town in the evening. The pool was good, but nobody told us that you had to buy a wrist band to use the lockers or that you had to pre book the sauna and steam room. We also had to use the towels from our bedrooms which meant we had to ask for more from reception. Surely providing to

Stayed here for 2 nights, great location which meant we could walk into Bournemouth centre. Rooms were great and very clean, staff were very friendly and professional. We were explained the regulations that had recently been implemented which was very much appreciated. The team have gone out of their way to make the guests feel comfortable, the grab and go breakfast is a great idea. Would definitely stay here again!

My friend booked this hotel as surprise for my bday. No problems with check in room etc, I'm not fussy at all as soon I got bed to sleep I'm happy. Check in , room, pool, dinner was good I had really great time. All disaster happen next morning. We had spa (relaxing massage) booked for 10am, therefore I requested wake up call for 8am. Never happened so we overslept, got for breakfast only after 9 am. My friend hurt her ankle by wearing high heels and didn't have any flat shoes, so she came for breakfast in her socks and been brutally attacked by waitress that she can't be in restaurant without shoes. HOTEL DOESN'T provide slippers and she didn't have flats! The way waiter addressed that was absolutely rude! I received coffee without asking would I like any milk, would I like any toast or any cold drink. It's standard questions! Bare in mind is Tuesday and in restaurant was only 4 tables and I get that is end of breakfast but we were still in time!! And deserve service we paid for. Food , food was terrible. Raw mushrooms, dry sausages, cold bacon, harsh brown and beans were ok. Waitress never came to refill drinks, thy just disappeared. We sat next to jug of juice so my friend helped herself, where got attacked by waitress again. It was just disaster as she was abused and morning was just ruined. We went back to the room to get ready for our spa treatment when fire alarm went tested, for ages! Literally for an HR on and off. We called spa to cancel treatment coz how can you relax when fire alarm going on and off for ages. Lady were threatening that she will take 50% from my card for not show. Then we tried to sleep for last hour before long driving. No luck I left hotel absolutely exhausted. After check out we sat in bar for about 40 min before somebody got us drinks. Sea view, room, swimming pool was lovely I enjoyed it. Dinner food was nice. Only 3 options but nice I ate it. My main issue is staff. I didn't feel welcome, reception, bar and restaurant staff absolutely effortless. They just doing this job coz they have to, no customer service at all, even basic. No 0. Staff need training and appreciate they got job while we going thru pandemic. For me staff is most important thing in hotel, staff make stay so important and change whole atmosphere. I use to work for Holiday Inn myself and I know how important to give your best service to customers and how big change can make smile and polite attitude. Team meeting and staff training is overdue. I wouldn't be bothered if it's only one person, but staff break whole vibe in such nice beautiful hotel

Rooms- dull decor, not cleaned adequately as the carpet was dusty and there was scum around the taps and soap bottles. It needs to be done completely! The bed linen was worn but the bed was comfy. The walls are paper thin so we could hear the extractor fan from next door which was very loud and annoying and could hear people in the next room which was quite unpleasant. The doors in the bathroom are cheap and no locks on them. No spare towels or pillows, no fridge, poor coffee and tea facilities and it was quite warn at night. Breakfast On the 17th it was fine but menu is very dated and does not cater for vegetarians or vegans at all. One female staff member did sound like she had a bad cold which put us off a bit. Tasty full English and coffee was fine. The second morning we queued outside for 45 mins before we were seated. It was absolute chaos and nobody took responsibility for our table. We waited even longer for someone to get us coffee and toast. This time we had just poached eggs because my partner had the salmon the day before which was very chewy and I didn’t fancy another full English. Very long wait and other tables were neglected too. One male staff member was actually running up and down the room rushing to get things which was very off putting. Not one bit relaxing. Banana bread was good though Dinner. Good menu, small starter portions. The seared tube was very tasteless. I had the cod which was good but the mash was cold. The mushroom risotto was nice. Good desserts but the creme brûlée was freezing cold and it should be warm. Temperature in the room was a little cold but lovely staff and nice wine. Spa Very basic spa, only small pool which was over crowded and a small jacuzzi. Very old changing room lockers that are not working and need replacing desperately! Need £1 for them also which should be mentioned to guests. There was no availability for treatments for us which was very disappointing so we had to go to another hotel. It needs a facelift and it is quite small compared to the website
