We could not fault the room. It was spacious, very clean and modern. However, on arrival the gentleman on reception was not welcoming and appeared indifferent to our arrival, if not slightly irritated. When we asked (politely in French) if he could repeat a phrase, his manner was one of annoyance. We conversed in French the whole time and asked whether there was somewhere we could dine with our dog. We were simply told that dogs were not allowed in the restaurant because of other guests. We were not told about the option of room service, and it was only later when reviewing the website did we find out that this was a possibility (there was no information in the room). By stark contrast, the restaurant staff were charming, as were the reception staff at checkout. They both volunteered information without being prompted and were delighted to help. On arrival it felt that we did all the work and we were not told anything about the hotel or WiFi access etc and felt that we were inconveniencing the member of staff. In any other circumstance we might have challenged the gentleman’s manner, but when conversing in your second language with such an unexpected response, we were slightly thrown. Unfortunately, a negative first impression can have a disproportionate impact on your impression of a hotel. In all areas, apart from the welcome, we would Recommend the hotel. We pass through Poitier twice a year and would like to think that the Plaza would be a hotel of choice. However, after our experience we will review all hotels and will be hesitant in booking again. I do hope that this will be addressed as it really does do the hotel a disservice. We stayed on the 5th November. The hotel was very quiet and there appeared to be no reason for any member of staff to be ungracious.

Very close to the main entrance of futuroscope. Staffs are nice and gentle. The rooms are clean and nicely arranged. All necessary services for a good stay are available at this hotel except the possibility to make coffee inside the rooms. I think It will be very much appreciated by everyone if the hotel provides some tea and coffee facilities inside the rooms. Other than that "Good one" in a very good price.

Hotel is in the middle of Futuroscope site, which is ok if you're visiting the site. Not very busy when we stayed but I can imagine in summer it gets very busy. Hotel was clean, room was small but had all necessary amenities for an overnight stay. 4€ charge per dog but that's quite reasonable compared to other hotels. Parking was secure, breakfast good & friendly staff.

Just stopped one night on our way to Oradour-sur-Glane the next day, for an overnight stop these hotels cant be beaten, this particular one had a pizza and alcohol service which is unusual but welcome. The rooms are more than adequate with comfy beds and pillows, looks a bit tired and could probably do with a refurbishment but all in all very good value

For a budget stop over hotel this is pretty good. It is on a pretty bland site but that’s the only down side. We were a day earlier than booked but the staff couldn’t have been more helpful swapping our booking with no hesitation. The rooms are compact but the air con worked which at 39 degrees outside was needed. Clean, relatively quiet. WiFi ok.

This is a good budget hotel. Nothing fancy but nice and clean. However no airco and the window can only be opened a little bit due to the security lock. The lobby has a coffee and drinks machine. Breakfast is ok. Croissants, cheese, marmalade, coffee and orange juice served in the restaurant next door. The restaurant has the pirate theme. The lightning is rather dark, not a place I would spend hours in but ok for breakfast. It's about 20 minutes walk from Futuroscope and there is a 'navette' 3 minutes walk.

Stopped off at the Kyriad Futuroscope due to its proximity to the A10 motorway heading south. Great, nice & handy, easy check in, staff were ok. The hotel was modern (soul less) The bed had a bunk above it which was a bit awkward & the room was really just a box with no Jules Verne theme which may be a complaint to families with children. As we had arrived late afternoon we went for a walk looking for an eatery. The area is full of similar such modern box hotels with no eateries of description to find, in fact a bit of a ghost area as we saw no one else on foot. We finally settled on eating at another close by hotel which did have an open restaurant. Unfortunately the food there was not good but that's another story. Regarding food, breakfast was chaotic due to a party of French school children. There was plenty to choose from but the food is more suited to children's tastes. After we left we did find various food outlets about a kilometre away but there was no signage informing us. So if you choose this area to stay in, get in your car & drive to the fast food outlets as hotel food is not of a good standard.

We stopped over in this spot on our way up from the Basque Country to Cherbourg on our journey home. We had intended to visit futuroscope but it was 42° when we arrived and the kids barely made the walk from the car park to the hotel entrance, never mind round a theme park. The room was decently sized, even with the sofa bed for the kids put out. The pool was lovely and well shaded by the time we got there in the late afternoon, which was a bonus for the children. The room was spotless. The air-con wasn't great, especially given the heatwave the area was experiencing at the time, but otherwise I couldn't fault the room. We had a lovely evening meal, starters were especially good. The menu is a vegetarian's dream with plenty of options for non meat-eaters, often difficult to find in France. On the whole, a great place to break your journey and very family friendly (our kids loved the pencils in boxes with attached sharpeners which they could take home). Maybe we'll come back when they're not in the throes of a heatwave and finally get to futuroscope!!

The restaurant was the best feature of this hotel in a small town on the outskirts of Poitiers. We were happy with the five course Menu de la Motte. Distinctive flavours, small portions but all delightful although the apricot and tomato desert was too sharp and bitter for our taste. The reception staff were friendly and helpful without hassle checking in and out. Our attic room was a little cramped and at the top of two flights of stairs - perhaps they don't want a dog in one of the better rooms. A venerable building like this deserves a little more tender loving care and a window cleaner. The reviewer Davidwo is a little harsh but is right in pointing out that it risks going to seed. However, this was a pleasant overnight stop between the Dordogne and the Loire and far more interesting than the usual chain hotel. Health and beauty spa on the premises could be a real plus for some visitors. Well placed for those visiting the eccentric but interesting Futuroscope which is on the same side of Poitiers.

I was very hesitant having read some of the reviews and almost did not go because of them. It would have been a great mistake. Everything was just fine: very safe, clean and the staff was very welcoming and respectful. They never made you feel bad or judged. A very good surprise was the excellent location close to all sorts of walking-distance restaurants if you had to arrive around 6.30pm like us. Breakfast was excellent for the price we paid! All in all an unbeatable price for a "just fine" hotel. Of course you have to go outside of your room for the toilets and the separate shower rooms. It is just a question of organisation, it's a concept. All you need to have is your own towel. A big thank you again!

High-speed entrance and exit, but the sound insulation is very good, the room is completely unaffected. The carpet at the door of the bathroom is wet and wet. It is estimated that the cleaning agent was sprayed when cleaning, and the carpet was not dried for a few days. The bathroom is ventilated and has a toilet smell!
