What can you say when you walk into your room and it has shag carpet? Dated, maybe a little dirty? Yet they had nice art on the walls and the furniture looked modern. And then you spot two chairs also with a shag carpet effect. Is this odd or what? The bathroom was very nice although the toilet was in a separate and very small room. The beds were good and the room very quiet. The check in staff was very nice and accommodating. He helped us with parking. We never tried their bar-restaurant although it looked good and it was busy. Location was great. Parking is nearby and easy to walk to all the major sites. So maybe if they gave us a different room we might feel different. For an overnight stay, no complaints.

The hotel is ideally situated to visit all the Roman sites - it is very central to the town too. The room was superb (Junior Suite), very, very comfortable and tastefully decorated and the shower room was excellent. The hotel is gorgeous, again very tastefully decorated and the parking was brilliant, in a gated courtyard adjoining the hotel and with very easy access. The staff could not be more obliging or kind. We had a wool blanket on the bed and they immediately changed it for a cotton duvet when I explained my husband had an allergy to wool. They were informative, as well, and helped us find good restaurants. In all this is an ideal place to stay with staff who go above and beyond the norm - this hotel would, in my opinion, justify 5 stars.

I stayed in room called Maurius, which had the most spectacular view to the town and even the rooftop of the ancient Roman theatre, whilst facing cosy garden. So it was very quiet, yet 5min walk to the theatre. The room is efficient, has coffee making facility in the room, no tea, fridge or safe, which was absolutely no problem for me, just saying for information of others. Super comfortable modern bed, Nico the owner buys them from local French bedmaker, some of the most comfortable sleep I have ever had at any hotel! Aircon in the room is very quiet, and one can switch it off, then just the fan works. I slept with open window at night and even in 36c heat during the day it was still very cool in the room at night. There are additional blankets etc in the room for those who need them. The breakfasts served in the garden were fantastic, freshly baked goodies, homemade jams, apricot one made by mamman of lady of the house, wonderful strawberry one by her sister. One morning it was raspberry bake, another a brioche. Yoghurt, muesli, fresh croissants, baguette all there. If you are noise sensitive in the morning when the breakfast is being prepared, or generally, bring earplugs, it is a home so there bound to be movement or preparation noise. It did not bother me, nor did the adorable French bulldog Giselle, she was so gorgeous, and before anyone worries, super quiet. Loved the warmth and generosity of the owners, even if we had to lean on translation apps at times on our phones, as my French is rather limited. If you are coming to the Roman Theatre, especially, I would not stay anywhere else! If you want to leave Orange due to its small size, to be fair one can see it in half a day, then you can abscond to Avignon, 10min walk to the station and then in 14min or maximum 23min and €6.60 and you have yourself a wonderful day outing. Heartily recommend this wonderful bed and breakfast hotel!

The hotel is very pretty, homey, with traditional decor. Great location right next to the theater and a large park. The staff were very nice and helpful. We arrived a little earlier than expected, but they were able to give us our room key within 20 minutes. This older hotel has its quirks, including a long wait for hot water, but the character is worth it! I only wish we had visited in the summer so we could have breakfasted on the terrace (the hotel has a very pretty courtyard with a natural stone wall on one side). Great for a couple's weekend in the Pays d'Orange. We made a side trip to Chateauneuf-du-Pape, which is only 15 minutes away by car.

Great stopover hotel, situated about 15-20 mins walk from the centre of old Orange and the Roman Amphitheatre. Our room (on the ground floor) was comfortable, clean and quiet, and the staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was good too. We were allowed to leave our car in the (free) parking area in the morning until noon, so that, having vacated our room, we could walk into town for a short visit to the Roman Amphitheatre - not to be missed - as it had been closed when we arrived the night before. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very good location, room tiny to the point of discomfort. Bed comfortable. Room clean, first room we were shown to reeked of cigarettes but the receptionist changed it immediately with no fuss. Breakfast disgraceful, no bread until I complained, then a couple of baguettes appeared but no pastries or croissants, every single table cleared of plates but not wiped - why do they do that!! We went in half hour before breakfast was ended so just unprepared I guess. The one time I have ever bought an included breakfast tariff, it was disappointing! Evening meal in the Courtepaille restaurant was slow service, (we arrived before the majority of the staff did), but the meal was good value. Great location but I would try to get somewhere else before I booked again. I did ask for a refund on the breakfast after we had seen the offering but it was refused.

We spent a night here in November 2018, while the yellow jackets were rioting along the péage only a few metres away. The hotel room was spacious, with a writing desk and a coat rack as unexpected amenities. Apparently the glass is very thick, because we slept like a baby even though the fires from the protest could be seen from our window. Breakfast was not great and is worth deducting a point or two.

Orange is a small town, so the F1 hotel, unlike larger cities, is close to the center. It takes just 10-15 min walk so tourists without cars like me can use it also. I got in from Arles late at night, so I used the password. Reception is closed at night. Drinks vending machines are available in the lobby. Toilet and shower is on the floor. You should use digit password for entrance to the room . It is impossible to forget - you will sleep in the hallway. Fans of budget travel often use motels F1. This Motel is just like everyone else. Clean, functional, inexpensive. Slept and moved further.

Stayed here for one night in a classic double room. Arrived to find ample parking outside the hotel and a quick and professional check in. My room on the first floor was just as expected clean and adequately sized, with a large and comfortable bed and plenty of seating and work space. There was a fridge for keeping drinks chilled containing a complimentary bottle of mineral water, although I thought that paper cups provided for drinks in a room at this price point seemed a little cheap. Another thing that annoyed me was the lack of any means of controlling the temperature in the room, with the air conditioning seemingly permanently set on cold. The hotel is a J shaped layout on just two floors so some rooms potentially had a long walk from reception. The hotel is not quite as central as its name suggests, but the city centre is an easy twenty minute walk for most people. I got the impression that this hotel was mainly geared towards business users, and as such most guests seemed to have departed fairly early. I was woken shortly after 8AM by housekeeping staff in a store cupboard adjacent to my room, and had the restaurant all to myself for breakfast while a conference of some kind got underway next door. Overall then this is a fairly standard Mercure, not a hotel that seemed to have that much individuality or that you’ll look back and remember but it serves its purpose well enough and I enjoyed a comfortable nights stay.

We stayed at Le Mas Julien last year. We loved it so much that we are are going a second time this August! Where do I start? Of course it must be with Valere, who is simply the best host I have ever experienced. Firstly, he has clearly put a lot of effort into making the place look wonderful. The rooms are beautiful. There is so much attention to detail such as the comfortable beds, soft towels, dressing gown and stylish decoration of the room. The kitchen area is perfect for making lunches and we often relaxed outside having some quiche and drinking rose from the local shops. The garden is really stunning and well maintained by Valere. Secondly, he gave us so many wonderful recommendations about where to eat, the best markets and nice towns to visit. Every recommendation he made was super! We had easy car drives to Pont du gard, Uzes, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Avignon and other markets. We went to a local vineyard which Valere recommended and had a great tour/wine tasting in French (photo attached). Orange is also nice to visit. Our only regret was not spending enough time at Le Mas Julien because we were going out most days. Next time we will spend more time relaxing at the premises and By the pool! Lastly, the breakfast is delicious and there is so much choice. You really are spoiled at Le Mas Julien. Whether you want to visit Chateneuf or simply want to relax somewhere beautiful and calm, look no where else! We cannot wait to return.

Just got back from a week-long stay at Justin de Provence with my best friend. We very much appreciated the type of ‘accueil’ Eitan, Stéphane & Gérard presented. Interested, warm and sincere. But the stay is all about offering us the peace and quiet of this amazing location. La douce France definitely reawakened our spirits. We visited a lot of the surrounding cities such as Avignon, Uzès or Marseille. But Orange itself is quite charming as well. Next time (already nostalgic!) we plan on enjoying the surroundings of the B&B a bit more: an inviting pool area, the hammam and a dreamy garden of full of olive trees. The patisserie made by modestly but almost professional Eitan was especially very tasty for breakfast. We also enjoyed the local produce such as yoghurt, honey or cheese. A la prochaine!
