We have a yearly visit to Mandarah as my granddaughters love it there and have stayed at other resorts. This year we chose the Mandarah motel and apartments as the photos look great , especially the pools, which the girls love. On our first day there we went to the pool, there was no one else there and the girls were enjoying a swim. A woman came over and chatted, she did not introduce herself, but seems like a member of staff , and was wearing some badge on a lanyard, she was basically giving us a pep talk about pool etiquette and behaviour, ie no jumping in, no swearing, considerations of other guests, I didn’t have a issue with this as I don’t like bad behaviour , we followed advice and the girls did not once jump in the pool. We enjoyed our first day and evening, however the 2 nd evening there was a party in the apartment adjoining ours. We were unable to sit outside as our outside area was next to the party, loud music and drinking which went on until midnight, then continued inside the apartment with arguing and swearing until 3 am. We did notify staff around 9 pm, not as a complaint at that time , but asked if there was another apartment as we had children, unfortunately there wasn’t . I then advised staff and manager when we checked out in the morning, also there was a party in the day which isn’t a problem however we were unable to use the facilities tennis / crazy golf, then the party in the evening together ruined our 2 nd day , had we not have been travelling from overseas I’d have put the girls in the car and left . The manager did however tell us that the women who was giving us behaviour advice had no right to !!!! people / kids are expected to have fun in the pool. She wanted us to write a email about this , she was more concerned about the women giving advice then the party / noise / swearing until 3 am. On top of this I happened to move the cushion on the sofa and there was so much filth underneath. On a positive note the pool is lovely, the location is great, and we love Mandarah, would we stay at the motel and apartments again NO !!! Sorry guys

Although the hotel has been established for decades, it is not old at all. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The balcony looks at the center pool. Everything is just right. After swimming twice, when I took the elevator back to the room, I also encountered foreign couples. !! very good!

In a stroke of bad luck we were assigned a floor 1 apartment (2 bedrooms). This was out first visit to Mandurah and I was hoping for a view of the beach that all promotional pictures show. No luck. all we got was the back of buildings and off one small part of the deck we could see part of a river? When we checked in the receptionist greeting was less than warm, An error was made (by her) and she laid the blame on me, and could not listen as she spoke over me explaining what had happened - that was not a nice start. The colours of the place are lovely, and the apartment large, but it was also showing it's age. The main bedroom bathroom had an old fashioned step into bathtub (that used to be a spa) to shower. It was difficult for me to step up and almost a safety risk to step out - I had trouble every time. The worst was the bed was so uncomfortable mattress and pillows. the mattress is in desperate need of a topper and pillows to be replaced. we only stayed 2 nights (thank goodness) as I had sore back and neck each morning from the bad bedding. The shower could not be adjusted and pelted down from the ceiling it hurt my body, BUT it was hot so that's a bonus. It is nice and close to Dolphin Quay which is needed re food and drinks as none are provided on site at Seashells. The pool is pretty but the gates to the beach were inaccessible when we were there.

We are home after one very sad night at Del Mar 1, after we had paid for two. The apartment has no WiFi and is exposed with seven multiple sliding doors. The sliding doors are the bedroom windows . Besides the main suite the other two rooms did not have any air - no fans and obviously one could not open the windows as it was a door on the ground floor. Sadly my worst fears were realised when we popped out for dinner for two hours and on return to see that our belongings trashed and strewn around the apartment. The apartment advertises camera survelience but there are no cameras in sight around the Del mar 1, the reception refused any responsibility stating that they were just a letting agent. The only compensation the reception could offer was another free night if we paid for one more ( no thanks lol) or another night at some other accommodation away from Dolphin quay where the small window views consisted of a high metal fence ( again no thanks for your offer). We had one iphone . two wallets , a speaker , brand new jordan sneakers, chargers etc stolen. Overall a substantial valued amount of our personal property stolen proving to be an expensive, one night at Del Mar. Issues with the apartment. 1. Inadequate security on the apartment. Forensic police noted sliding doors were easy jemmied with a small screw driver. 2. Inadequate ventilation in two of the bedrooms. 3. No CCVT Cameras on the eastern side of the building.. 4. No Safe to lock valuables in.

Have stayed at the sebel a few times now. However over the years have noticed the decline. The place is still reasonbly modern but could do with a refresh. The bedside lampshade had massive watermark, the carpet near the couch had torn. Bathrooms Could do with a regrout. The chairs are starting to look a litte worn, the cabient for mini fridge very worn. Tea and coffe stashed away not out on counter. Approached staff for an ice bucket which was no problem at all, however when asked for extra champagne glasses (me and my wife are snobs and had a vareity of different bottles and didnt want to mix) we were politely told “well there are glasses in the room did you check first” first world problems i know…coffee made in lobby was burnt However the added touch of a easter cookie And a massive easter egg on Easter Sunday was awesome!

Great choice for an overnight visit to Mandurah . We had a one bedroom apartment on the first floor - very spacious- older style, but super clean and comfortable with great a/c which was just as well as we were there in the early January heatwave. Only one minor niggle- really missed not having black out window treatments in the bedroom- got woken up way too early. However, out and about the well kept gardens and pool were a bonus and we squeezed in a welcome dip before we headed off to see the lights. With a friendly staff, a bakery, bottle shop and supermarket next door, and just a short stroll over the bridge to the foreshore - what’s not to like - just wished we’d booked in for two nights .

Booked a two bedroom Villa near the pool for an extremely lazy two nights over the Australia Day Long Weekend. A very easy drive from the northern suburbs of Perth. We arrived earlier than expected, and greeted by a very pleasant lady at reception. We were allowed to check-in 1 hour prior. These spacious villas, come with a fully equipped kitchen. Although, please note there is no gas or electric oven in the kitchen just a gas four burner cook top. There is however a microwave oven, a good dishwasher and large fridge freezer. We had a ground floor villa and the rooms are quiet at night and have comfortable beds. The bathrooms were a generous size My husband loved the Spa bath. Washing Machine and Dryer located in 2nd bathroom are a real bonus. The swimming pool is lovely and refreshing but not as big as the photo. Sun loungers are hard to come by. ( we counted 8). Our only gripe about this Resort is the constant out of control of teenage children who are unsupervised around the resort and swimming pool. At one point they were running, jumping off the walls, jumping in the spa, running out of control. It clearly states no water bombing in the pool and children to be supervised at all times but clearly not. Where are the parent's? At one point I did hear a mother tell her child loud and clear, please don't jump off the wall into the pool but the other children were egging him on and so he did it again and again. One teenage child told his grandfather out loud ' your dumb grandad when he was asked not to do something. Unfortunately we won't be coming back here because the Resort does not police the pool area so it's pointless if you want to have some quiet time.
