The climb up the hill to Anjuan is worth the effort as this is one of the most pleasant places I have stayed at in Kochi Prefecture. From afar the hotel looks rather unimpressive. When you arrive, however, you realize they have done an amazing job turning a somewhat drab concrete structure into a cozy and welcoming Japanese style inn. If you are ok with sleeping on tatami mat floors on futons, the Japanese style rooms are lovely and the communal bath is a real treat after a day of sightseeing. The food at Anjuan is really quite something and beautifully presented. I am vegetarian and multi-course evening meal was absolutely delicious and compared very well with my colleague’s meat and fish course. The Japanese breakfast was also excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive and the many small courtesies on display that explain the ways of the Japanese inn to the uninitiated in English are all very welcome.

We stayed 2 nights on our trip to Kochi in October 2020. The hotel was undergoing a large-scale repair work on the outer wall and there was a scaffolding around. Parking is free, but the first parking lot just beside the hotel can only park about 10 cars, so you will park in a parking lot a little far away when you are full. Arrived around 14 o'clock, but I was able to check in. The front desk staff is not stationed during the day, so the room key is good. When you need it, you can call the staff at the front desk bell, and there is nothing wrong with it. Breakfast is provided free of charge from 7:30 in the lobby, but this time the staff at the dining room also served as the front desk business. We are trying to reduce costs by thoroughly saving labor. The content of the breakfast was mainly Japanese food, and Western food was about bread, salad and drink, but it is glad to eat this for free. 1 There is a ”Yakuyu bath” behind the front desk on the floor, but there are only 1, so it is a men and women change system on the day of the week and time. The washroom was about 4 and the bathtub was about tatami mats, but the smell of medicinal herbs was healed. We stayed on weekdays, but the morning bath is only for men, and it is switched from women to men at 20 o'clock at night, so women are quite difficult to use. On weekends, men and women seemed to be changing their time. Not a new hotel, so you feel less 々 old in the room and hotel facilities. Compact twin room, storage space is insufficient. The hanger rack is also narrow and 4 hanging is full, but there was a stick in the free rental goods placed in the elevator side space. 1 In front of the front floor, you can put daily necessities such as cotton swabs and body sponges, and you can feel the devise in detail. It was a perfect hotel for the sightseeing starting point of Tosa Shimizu, Shimanto gawa River, Shimanto gawa River, with a warm service with cheap accommodation fee.

Located on the high ground of the Shimanto River Estuary, a little far from the center of Shimanto City, it is an inn surrounded by nature, adjacent to a large park. Because of that, the night is very dark. At night, I went to Nakamura town to eat and came back by car, but I was surprised by the darkness around the inn. There are front desks, shops, restaurants, baths, etc. in the main building, and the rooms are different buildings. There is a small building in the lounge and bar on the way from the main building, and there is a two-story cottage that surrounds the courtyard. There is a small table and chair in the courtyard, a pleasant place. Some people sat and opened their personal computers. The room seems to have an open-air bath or a room with a loft, but we used a Japanese room. Not very large, but calm in a tatami room. Outside the veranda is also surrounded by trees 々 and quiet. There is a unit bus in the room, but there is a large bath in the main building. There were hot springs, seawater open-air baths and medicine baths, which we enjoyed. Especially, the medicine bath seemed to be very good and it was good. The cheek to take the bath was nice. I was able to spend very relaxing.

Facts have proved that cycling from Ekawasaki to the Shimanto River is a great arrangement. Near Jiangchuanqi Station, the only hotel that can be booked online is Xingluo Shimanto. The location is very village, but the room rate is very expensive, more than 1,000 yuan a night. The public areas of the hotel are tastefully designed, but the rooms are very shabby, but its charm is reflected in many soft powers. 1. Hotel management pick-up I called the hotel in advance to tell us the time for the train to arrive at Jiangkawasaki Station. After getting off the train, the driver drove the hotel's minibus and was waiting to pick us up at the station. The return time to the station was set when we checked in. The hotel front desk asked us the train departure time on the next day and asked us to return to the hotel before 16:30. At 16:30, the female front desk of the hotel personally sent us to the train. station. 2. The hotel has an observatory for stargazing The surrounding area of this hotel is so dark. There are only two schools next to the hotel. There are almost no lights at night. From a distance, the place with lights is the hotel. No wonder there is an observatory. It was a pity that it rained that evening and the clouds were very thick. The stargazing activity that was booked with the hotel in advance was cancelled. I wanted to take a star field here, but the camera and tripod got leucorrhea. 3. The view of the hotel restaurant is too good Checking in the hotel is already very dark. I went to the restaurant for breakfast in the morning and was stunned. The scenery and air were so good. The restaurant is full of floor-to-ceiling glass, and the mountains and villages in the distance are reflected on the glass of the restaurant. Sitting in the restaurant for breakfast, the scenery is so good that I don't want to get up and go out to play. 4. Grapefruit biscuits presented by the hotel The specialty of Kochi Prefecture is Yuzu, also called Tosa Koka. The hotel gave two grapefruit biscuits. Both my son and I thought it was delicious. We are going to buy some of them and go home. 5. The hotel’s hot tub The hotel has a separate BIG BATHROOM for men and women, which is a hot spring bath. Although I did not go, this is a hot spring hotel. 6. The scenery around the hotel The hotel is on the mountain. I walked down from the slope of the hotel in the morning. I was amazed all the way. The scenery is so beautiful. 7. Barbecue restaurant 900 meters away from the hotel Walk 900 meters to the village. The 6 special grilled meats and sauces of this yakiniku restaurant at the entrance of the village ranked first in my second trip to Japan. 8. A kayak pavilion 500 meters away from the hotel The owner of this kayak is very good, and it has a wide range of operations. You can eat dinner, buy bread, rent kayaks, and rent bicycles. We rent bicycles here to visit Shimanto River.
