Easily overlooked, The Annex is just off Bloor St W and offers a unique boutique hotel option for downtown Toronto. It has a wine bar and cafe, and is described as "trendy." It certainly is that, but whether you like the label or not, the rooms are excellent and with an aesthetic -- minimalist with classy fixtures, white walls and lots of wood -- that I have only seen matched in Scandinavia and Germany. For those interested, there is art on the walls, a turntable and vinyl in room, as well as a loaded iPad instead of the usual TV. This is a digital-savvy choice, with public parking at reasonabable rates steps away from the entrance -- with payment managed conveniently, efficiently through Toronto's green.p mobile parking app. As a boutique offering, the check-in and so on are digitally managed, but they have helpful staff on site who promptly assisted with a passcode glitch when we arrived. Finally, the bed was one of the best I've had recently and, combined with nearly sound-proof brick walls, ensures a peaceful and quiet night's sleep. We will be going back.

A bit confusing on first arrival as there are two buildings - one has restaurants and office, one with guest rooms). Got there a couple of hours early and they managed to find us a room that's ready so we didn't have to wait. The place has old world charm or dated look depending on your perspective. The exterior much cuter than the interior. Dark carpeting - green in hallway, wine color in room, definitely makes everything look a bit gloomy. Our corner room (302 on the second floor - no elevator) was a "deluxe" double with king bed, with a cute balcony facing front with two chairs (one of only three rooms with a balcony and probably the largest one). Room not large but a friend who stayed in a standard room said his was much tinier - clearly being an old building the room sizes and layouts here could all be different (I'd likely rated this place a 3 star had we not had this nicer room). High ceilings with ceiling fan, central aircon not too noisy and good temp control. Room lights bright enough. WiFi works in room and was fast enough. No blackout curtains however so there is street light coming through at night. Furniture looks a bit worn, and only one desk chair, and no luggage rack. Bed a bit soft, large comfortable pillows. Small open closet area but the rail is set very low so if you have a longer coat you can't use it as it'll drape on the floor. Bathroom is small but updated, all white tiles also with a window so quite bright. Shower only, no tub. Electric water heater is handy for making tea or coffee (and even tea bags are provided). No fridge. There is a fair sized safe large enough for a lap top. Breakfast served in the bar with high backed upholstered bright red booth seats. Food is "cold continental" - consisting of juices, good selection of whole fruits plus cut half grapefruits, hot/cold cereal, assortment of pastries - tasty small muffins and danishes, hard boiled eggs. Nice assortment of teas. There is no lobby area but if you need a place to hang out for a while after check out they let you use the upstairs restaurant which is quite large and has some secluded quiet corners. Convenient location - Spadina subway stop right around the corner, and 10-15 min walk to commercial area with shops, restaurants, museums and the University.

Because the hotel is just across the road and close to the subway station, the facilities introduced are also good, so I chose this hotel without hesitation. After I stayed, I felt very bad. It was the worst hotel I stayed in in Canada. I checked in the first night. We checked in at Niagara Falls and it was almost nine o'clock in the evening. We booked a double bed. The room was gone, and Ctrip could only change rooms the next day after the negotiation, and the trouble caused naturally need not be said; the next morning, I found that there was a reminder of the consumer text message at 3 o'clock in the hotel on the credit card. How to get it out was inexplicable, and it scared me to quickly close the credit card transaction function. Later, I was fortunate to have Ctrip help to solve it in a timely manner; I finally changed to a twin room the next night. Unexpectedly, this room was near the subway and it was too noisy to sleep all night . Fortunately, we stayed at this hotel for only two days! The most profound lesson is that when you deposit at the front desk of the hotel lobby, do not leave your credit card with your credit card, and do not easily give it to the front desk customer service. Special thanks also to Ctrip's customer service for helping to solve all the problems effectively and timely!

A very good hostel to stay for a few days. My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights in a private room. We shared the showers and the bathroom with a entire floor. Yes it smells weird in the hallway, but in the room, everything was ok. No odors, even if we were close to the bathroom. The room was little, but we didn't need much, just a bed in fact. Our balcony was not that great : no chairs, a view on the roof of another building and the air conditioner machine on it. we just didn't go outside. the air conditioning wasn't working very hard, but it wasn't too hot. so it was ok for us. the breakfast is really basic : toast with peanut butter, jelly or margarine, cereals and sometimes, fruits, muffins or cookies. For us, it was enough. The kitchen is really small, too many people for such a small room in the morning. good interactions with the reception. very noisy on the weekend, because there is a bar next door. the noise stopped around midnight. Overall, the place is really good. The location makes up for everything. The neighbourhood was very nice, good places to eat/drink, good market place. it was close to big tramway lines. If you're down to walk, you can go downtown easily or take the tram or a bus. We really like the location !!

This is an elegant, older style hotel in a great location within easy walk of a heap of restaurants in Yorkville Village and a couple of other attractions like Royal Ontario Museum, Queens Park, Parliament, etc. Public transport is easily accessible with Museum Station and Bay Station of the Metro subway nearby. Our room was well appointed, comfortable bed, espresso coffee machine, iron/board, good bathroom, etc.and best of all an openable window: not big but gave us fresh air at night. Best concierge I have met in ages: knowledgeable and very helpful and friendly. We had breakfast daily: good selection, great staff who went out of their way to get to know you and what you liked from day to day. Prices in $22-$28 range.

There is an electric stove in the room, you can simply make some meals, no ventilation equipment. The room is not too big, the two beds are big and small. There is an elevator but it cannot be used. Decent and clean! Forgot to book the lakeview option, upgrading to high floor and Lake View was $30-40 on the spot. Bed and pillows were super comfy. Bathroom had lots of towels, and plastic cups, soap. There was a coffee machine with Starbucks coffee packs, and a bottle of water, several plastic cups, mini fridge. Tv has Netflix, Amazon prime vid, you just need to sign in to your account 🔥. Parking is free (1 spot for 1 room, u have to get a tag and put it in the windshield from the front desk when u check-in). Wifi was free with the room, but when i login it said 16$ a day will charge if applicable, I didnt want the hassle / didnt need it so i didnt use it. But i enjoyed the stay, front desk service was fast and friendly both in person and on phone😊

I live in Connecticut in the States. My son and DIL live in Parkdale in the far west of Toronto, and I've visited frequently in the 13 years my son has lived there. I often stay in rental apartments but if going for a quick trip Stay Inn has been my favorite spot to stay. It's always been clean and safe with pleasant employees and a good breakfast. The place is so dependable and reasonable that it's often difficult to find a room there at the last minute, which is when I usually try to book. I recently had an extended stay in Toronto for quarantine. I was able to get a room at Stay Inn for four nights (broken up by several days out of town). The hotel is still in the thick of renovations. Between that and COVID, there is no breakfast right now and some of the services (laundry, coffee in the lobby) were disrupted. My room was newly renovated, quiet and safe. I love being able to park for free, right outside the room. Their renovations are being done at the highest possible level. I thought the "new" rooms were beautiful. The beds and linens were perfectly cozy, clean and comfortable. The decor was stunning and rivals that of chain hotels that are double in price. The bathrooms have been totally redone, with a vessel sink that is perfect for the space. The tiles in the walk in shower are incredibly stylish and dramatic, in black and white. The furniture is lovely and practical, with a cute loveseat and formica topped coffee table evoking mid century design. Wall coverings throughout are varied and tasteful, and their variations make for subtle interest. Staff was, as always, polite and helpful. I bet, once this renovation is over, that this motel will be incredibly popular, so you may want to be sure to reserve ahead. I will happily stay in future and recommend to friends and family.

Very good hotel, although a bit older, but the price is super high. First, the location is good. The city center is within a quarter of a minute's walk from the University of Toronto, Chinatown, and the TV Tower. Second, the hotel has all the facilities, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the cleaning is timely. Third, the surrounding supermarkets and restaurants are all around and convenient. Fourth, the specifications are not low, but the price is not high. So, in a word: high cost performance. I originally stayed for two days. I looked at it first and then stayed there for a few days. Anyway, I will definitely choose this one next time.

We drove over to Toronto Pearson Airport after renting a car, and the hotel also has a shuttle bus. The countless corners leaving the airport made me speechless. Both the mapping and Google Maps were too slow to respond. After the corners did not show me the way, it took me half a day to get out of the airport, and the hotel was very good. . Just the next day I drove out of the hotel to Niagara Falls and turned left after leaving the road for a while. The left turn indicator at that intersection blurred me. I do n’t know if I ran the red light. Turn right at the green light in Quebec, Canada. Like other places in the country, you will encounter four lights at the intersection. You can turn left only when the green light and the left turn light are on. The hotel is clean and comfortable with breakfast (light meals): coffee, tea, juice, and no milk I forgot. Bread, fried eggs, small sausages are a bit salty, and the little machine that makes waffles is so cute that I forgot to take pictures. There is no shortage of fruits and yogurt.
