Hotels near Christmas Market at St Stephen's Basilica, Budapest

Downstairs to press the password, the first time to press the door Ling no response, finally the phone press wait for people directly downstairs to pick up. The elevator is very old, the hotel is on the 1/2 floor, generally not very tired to go up and down the stairs. There are attractions downstairs, and there are many bar, Cafe, Gelato, convenient to go to attractions. Air-conditioning is independent

3 night stay in May for our honeymoon. The location of this hotel is spot on! It is right on the cathedral, shops, so many choices of restaurants moments away. The staff were very friendly, always greeted us when we came in or out. Our room was very modern and clean. The bed was really comfortable, the shower is really big and good pressure. Lots of mirrors and storage space too. The hotel did offer a little breakfast (bread, pastries, juice, coffee, yogurts etc) we only used it once but didn’t feel like we needed to as there was so much nearby for us to try. We walked to everything we wanted to visit within the city but when we went further a field used “bolt” taxi service which is like Uber and never waited more than 5 minutes. I would recommend this hotel, and stay again. It looks hidden on the street but once you know it’s there it’s easy to find!

The location is very good, just beside the cathedral. After taking the airport from the airport 100E to the city station for a few minutes, you don't need to take a taxi at the airport or book a private car. Of course, the hotel selling point is also the location, other aspects are more common, the shower design is not scientific, the water is very easy to spill on the bathroom floor when taking a bath. The hotel room is small, the breakfast is more ordinary, of course, it is acceptable at the price of the hotel.

Hotel service is very good, room service is always responsive, and the attitude is warm, because the anniversary of the hotel also presented champagne. Macarons are given every night. However, I returned to the hotel on the first night and found that the room had not been cleaned. I communicated with the hotel to confirm that this situation did not occur again after daily cleaning.

Booked for 4 nights. Had problems getting in but man on reception very helpful. Had booked a city view room with twin beds as I went with my sister. Was shown to a double room. Explained about booking was shown a twin room with really high step down/up to bathroom. We are both well into our sixties and have mobility problems. After our 4th trip the rickety lift we went back to our original room and given another room on the same floor. The next day we moved to a twin room which overlooked the courtyard and I presume was previously a store room!! Having resigned to the fact that we could not spend more time complaining we accepted. Half way through shower it went cold and we Alison had no heating. We complained and were told all the hot water had been used and we needed to give the boiler time to refill. We went out for the day and returned to a freezing room and no hot water. No one on reception so went down to the restaurant which is owned by the hotel. Poor waiter didn’t have a clue. We were due to attend a concert so had to leave. When we returned the night receptionist asked if everything was okay and we told him about our situation. He said each room has its own boiler so it must be broken 😡 He went to look at it and the fuse had blown which he fixed. We complained the next day to the Manager who refunded 2 nights. However our trip had been ruined and we will not return. The location is amazing and the man on reception at night time was very helpful the building is very quaint but not very clean.

I booked an eight-person female dormitory and was lucky enough to get a bed with good privacy, like a loft. Very funny. The location is convenient, the price is cheap. there is a private bathroom. The roommates were very considerate. Good.

What a wonderful hotel. It is situated in a great location close to most of the historical sites in Budapest. The room was large with a sitting area, a safe, and a very functional bathroom. The hotel staff was very friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help and answer our questions. They also gave us to complimentary bottles of wine and two drink cards good at the establishment next door. The buffet breakfast was excellent, and the breakfast room was large and spacious. But the best part was how quiet our room was. We were able to get plenty of sleep at night to give us the energy we needed to sightsee all day. This hotel tops our list, and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Clean, modern, comfortable, quiet and airy. Excellent breakfasts, central location, helpful and multilingual staff. A few seconds walk from the front door of the hotel will take you to St. Stephen's Basilica, and from there it's a short walk to the Danube, Parliament Buildings, etc. Literally across Andrassy utca. in the other direction is the Jewish Quarter, with great cafes, restaurants, etc. and three synagogues including the famous Dohany synagogue with its exhibitions and memorials. The Hungarian State Opera House is a few seconds north of the hotel. You should note that the dental clinic Helvetic Clinic is situated within the hotel complex and indeed a greater or lesser percentage of guests will be patients there. Not that this impacts on the hotel in any way, but you might wonder what it's all about when you go in.

We loved our 5 night stay here, we opted for a 1 bedroom apartment. We were amazed at how big, clean and well equipped the apartment was (there were even a couple of laundry pods to do washing if you wished). The staff at reception were really welcoming and happy to help giving great advice. Location is fantastic as close to all the main sights with the metro, tram and bus stops at the top of the road. Close to some brilliant restaurants like Mozel Tof, Ghetto Goulash and Pork and Prezli (make sure you book) Really handy that the direct airport bus stop is just a 5 minute walk too. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if coming to Budapest.
