Bit of a hidden gem but perfect for a trip to Bologna. We had the larger room with bunk beds for our boys. Plenty of space, we arranged to drop our bags early and the member of staff who met us was very helpful giving us great tips for our stay. There's a coffee machine and welcome basket in the room with (free) snacks. There's a mini fridge with water and drinks that are all just €1 if you take them. For breakfast you get a voucher to use in a local cafe which was very nice. There are loads of local shops if you need to stock up on supplies as well as plenty of lovely restaurants. The centre is a 15 minute stroll down the Via San Felice. Taxi from train station was €9, to airport was €15. I was slightly nervous as there were very few reviews of the place but I can highly recommend it.

I only stayed for 2 nights. Let me begin with the good parts The location is good not far from the center and the area is safe, the R&B is located in a commercial building on the 7th floor. The room is spacious and clean. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They go the extra mile for your convenience. When I first arrived to the room the heat was on and it was extremely hot that day. So I asked the staff to set it to cooling. First they said from 15th of October no A/C is available and they can’t change it just for my room. Then the rep called his manager and asked what can be done. The manager came within an hour and set the A/C to cool. For this i’m very grateful. Also when I was looking for advice or recommendations about restaurants and what to do in the city I was answered kindly. The Breakfast was good and plentiful and if you ask for extras they give you. It’s a big continental breakfast with fruits. The not so good parts is the thin walls you could hear everything from the adjacent rooms. Even when they use the faucet the toilets walking and talking in the room. This woke me up at night several times. Also the breakfast area is small right at the entrance so you’re having breakfast while people check in/out. Theres an option to have it in your room that’s the option I chose the next day. Nice place and great staff if you’re looking for a fare price and good location and don’t mind privacy, then go ahead and book.

We stayed here in early October for one night in a Superior King Suite. This was their smallest room (from what we were told) but was a generous size, finished to a very high standard with plenty of room for clothes, cases and a table and chairs to use for self catering. The amazing part of the room was the hidden mini kitchen which looked like a large wardrobe but revealed a complete mini kitchen with fridge, coffee machine, kettle, sink, microwave etc. Great when you don't want to be looking at a kitchen! There were supplies of coffee pods, sugar and tea. There was no bottled water but I'm presuming the water from the kitchen was drinkable although as I had some water with me I didnt ask. The bed was large with good linen and was very comfortable. The bathroom was very luxuriously finished and a good size with a large walk in shower, large fluffy towels and nice toiletries. Despite being only about 8 minutes walk from Piazza Maggiore we were able to sleep with our windows open and absolutely no noise waking us - and I'm a very light sleeper. There was no breakfast included but we were given a discount voucher to use at the excellent cafe just at the end of the street which served a wide variety of breakfasts and was very good value. The only disadvantage to this accommodation is the fact it is an older building and therefore, understandably, has no lift. This was OK for us but if you are not able to climb a couple of sets of stairs it wouldn't be the right place for you.

Plenty of room. Clean comfy beds & linen. We loved the old building. But with that comes the squeaky floors, sharing the floor with happy party goers, & outside private bathrooms. We loved the atmosphere, the friendly help, & the gorgeous old lift. Lots of pastries & fruit in communal foyer to help yourself at any time. They just need air conditioning, or supply more fans. Ask for extra fan when booking perhaps 😊

We stayed here in mid-September and Panorama is about as central as you can get in Bologna without actually camping out in Piazza Maggiore. It is easy to find; about a 15 minute walk from the railway station or bus terminal (we arrived by very comfortable Flixbus) and four floors up in an old-fashioned cage lift past echoing hallways with huge wooden doors leading to what looked like lawyers' offices. The hotel is essentially one floor of a vast building, the corridors are wide and the rooms are big. We had room 2 which as requested looked out over the back of the building, over San Salvatore church and the green hills behind Bologna - the view was amazing. Room 2 had a sink, armchairs, a wardrobe, table and chairs for breakfast and a dressing table - much larger than most hotel rooms and with double French windows and a fan. The position made it very quiet, and the fan made it very cool in what was almost 40 degrees outside. Staff are incredible friendly and helpful. When we limped back after all day walking around town they rushed off and brought back bottles of cold water. They kept our small backpacks for us all day after check-out, and were never less than professional and full of information. You share a bathroom; there are three at the end of the corridor so one was always available with a mixture of bath, showers and lavatories, all spotlessly clean and supplied with soaps. Breakfast is a help-yourself generous buffet in the hall which you gather on a tray and eat in your room. All in all, an excellent hotel which we'd thoroughly recommend.

The room is very large and well-equipped. It is very good in Milan. In the suburbs, don’t get in and out of the hotel too late. It takes about 5 minutes to the subway station. There is a large supermarket. Breakfast is okay. It’s cheaper than eating outside. The keychain is too heavy. The door lock can be opened after a long time

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it thoroughly! We found this hostel through the “great hostels of the world” book and we weren’t disappointed whatsoever. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, we were treated so well and made to feel at home. Big kudos to the guy who works on the front desk and the Belgian lady too who was really lovely and friendly. Definitely would recommend joining one of the “family meals” on a Tues / Thurs night, some of the best food id had in Bologna for only €5! Definitely recommend Dopa, DEFINITELY coming back.

Sauna, Dampfbad? Fehlanzeige. 'Under Construction' und erst ab dem Winter wieder benutzbar... 🙄 Frühstück war ok. und sehr nett serviert.

We had a wonderful stay at the Residency Casa Isolani on Piazza Maggiore (Via D'Azeglio)! For our first stay in Bologna it was the perfect choice - directly on Piazza Maggiore!! The Casa Isolani is a mixture between hotel/apartment. There’s no reception and we received the key our two rooms upon appointment. For every question we could contact the Residency by WhatsApp and received immediately an reply. For the breakfast, we received voucher for an typical Italian breakfast (cappuccino and croissant) in the most typical and nice café just around the corner. On of the rooms (called “Piazza Maggiore”) has a balcony overlooking the Piazza and we could have stayed hours there watching the crowd on of the most beautiful squares of Italy. We were also lucky to be in Bologna for the St.Antoninio Festival, with music on the square and a huge firework, directly in front of the window! If you want silence, it’s enough to close the hermetic windows. The hotel situation in Bologna is difficult (few and very old hotels) and the Casa Isolani is an excellent alternative, if you don’t mind not having a reception service or a breakfast room. And instead you get the most incredible feeling of living in the middle of Bologna, a city I fell in love with! We will definitely come back!

I have stayed at the hotel with the largest room size of the same price, even larger than domestic hotels. The bathroom is large, the bed is large, and everything is comfortable. The child likes it very much. Luggage self storage. Breakfast is 12 euros per child, free for children 11 years old. The hotel location is just opposite the train station. There is a Chinese restaurant about 20 meters to the left of the hotel. The dining is convenient, and the female boss is also good.

Great location. Walk from/to main train station. Rental car place nearby. Outside of traffic control zone so you can pickup rental, drive out of town (we did motor valley for 2 days), come back and and park nearby without getting fines. Giovanni has a great deal for parking, just pay him for a parking voucher. Walk to downtown Bologna. Apt is clean. We were family of 3, worked really well. Private but not attached bathroom was really not an issue. We could lock our toiletries in the bathroom as it was our bathroom. Giovanni is readily available. There is also a water dispenser in the hallway. Breakfast is a voucher for coffee and pastry at coffee shop downstairs. Nothing special but plenty sufficient to start day. Great stay and reasonable price comoared to branded hotels.

The hotel is ideally located 5 minutes walk from the train station, 10 minutes walk from the city centre square, 20 euros by taxi to the airport and 10 minutes walk from the University of Bologna and the surrounding gastropub area. The room is a bit small, the air conditioning is not very powerful, but the cleaning is no problem. The front desk service is also very good, you can help call a taxi. Breakfast is basically the breakfast of a standard Italian hotel.

Chic but not a new hotel. Apparently this hotel was very cool once. Stayed in a deluxe room. SHIKARNOOOO !!! this space, this table for work, an area with sofas, a bar counter, a table for eating, a great huge bedroom, and a great bathroom .. Damn, this is a super number. some But: in the bathroom it smelled of chemistry, the kitchen was old and it had not been used for 10 years))) VERY liked the room. The Internet is stable, breakfast is excellent (scrambled eggs, all kinds of slices, fruits, yogurts, teas / coffees, etc. very tasty croissants) Loved it!

The front desk business is not very skilled, the check-in time is long, and I do not know how to be flexible. Not far from Poseidon Square. Our 8-person group booked 4 rooms. We planned to travel from Venice to LA SPEZIA and cross the Apennine Peninsula. In order to avoid boat and car fatigue, we stopped in Bologna for a night and didn't feel much. Just feel that the front panel is too inefficient. Others are not so impressed, I don't remember much.

I booked this apartment through booking.com and have left a review on that site. In their response on that site they have told some fibs that I felt put me in a bad light and since I cant respond on booking. com I thought I would write a seperate review here. I genuinly liked the apartment it was very spacious and spotless clean with fab amenities. My only negative comments or scores were firstly about how I rated the staff. Well the only contact I had was via WhatsApp, so that doesn't merit a high score in my book. I am not complaining about that, just saying. They are discruntled with my score saying that they sent me a detailed restaurant and tourist guide ???, and that they they booked a taxi for us during our stay. What really happend was that I asked them if they could book our return taxi to the airport (via WhatsApp) and they replied they could not but they provided some numbers. Since I cannot speak fluent Italian (my fault entrely) I did not fancy ringing the numbers. We just walked to the taxi rank at the end of the road, which worked out fine. The second negative I mentioned was that the lift was broken for the duration of our five night stay, as we were on the third floor and both my husband and I have mobility problems we did struggle to get to our rooms. They say that the lift was working after two days and that they carried our bags up and then down for us, this is not true (as I said we didn't see a soul from staff during our stay). We did see other guests struggling with baggage throughout our stay. My review on booking.com was not very harsh, but an honest opinion about our stay there. I will add that the rooms with a courtyard view are dissapointing, they just overlook other apartments.

Perfect central location, comfortable room and amazingly friendly host! We absolutely loved our stay in Room 8 at these charming apartments located directly opposite one the highlights of the Old Town, The Twin Towers of Bologna (Le due Torri). The two towers - the Torre degli Asinelli (the tallest Medieval tower in the world at 97.2 meters, built between 1109 & 1119) and it's little sister, the Garisenda Tower, were a delight to wake up and view each morning from the balcony of our third floor room. We had a wonderful King Size memory foam bed which was one of THE most comfortable we've beds ever slept in! So much so, we're now looking at buying one!! Our host was incredibly obliging and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure our stay was the best it could possibly be. Breakfast is easy to find at many of the cafes dotted close-by and directly downstairs in the entrance to the apartment building. If you're interested in history and love Italian food, Bologna is an absolute treat and this place made our stay a memorable one. There are many fabulous examples of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. One of our highlights were the 40km of winding porticoes throughout the city which make it a totally unique and fabulous way of exploring the Old Town on foot. There are many different styles of porticoes, such as the wooden 13th century casa Isolani to the most famous (our favourite) and longest in the world, porta Saragozza at 4 km long! We thoroughly enjoyed our romantic weekend break in Bologna and had many fabulous meals, as only Italy can so effortlessly do. Ristorante Clavature was wonderful for the famous Bolognese "Ragù" and the Corner Bar served fantastic Italian sandwiches and pastries - each easily reached by foot from our apartment. I was lucky enough to have this weekend break at the Cosmopolitan as a special Valentines Day treat. A big thank you to my Valentine ❤️ Bologna, you were an absolute pleasure x

My friends and I had three rooms booked here. I stayed in one of the upstairs rooms near the reception area. The room was modern and nicely appointed. The bathroom was nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast that was in my room included fresh bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, fresh fruit, milk, water, and fruit juice. I thought it was a good selection. The reception area was open when we arrived as we had arranged. The other rooms were large and nice too. One had room for all of us to meeting and drink wine. The location is convenient to the train station (20 minute walk), restaurants, and the city center. The only issue was the large number of people at the bars below the rooms. While the windows are double and keep out much of the noise, there was some noise late at night. It did not bother me, but could bother light sleepers.

We had a delightful stay at Casa Miramonte! Luca and Marina are excellent hosts and very accommodating to our requests. They are very knowledgeable about the area and gave us great suggestions for restaurants, sight-seeing and parking. 5-star service! We had the green room, which is upstairs. The room is very clean and spacious with a large, beautiful wardrobe closet . The bed is especially comfortable and the bathroom had plenty of room for our personal items. My husband especially appreciated the coffee maker in the room! Great accommodations! However, there are 37 steps that wind up to this bedroom and there are a couple of tiled steps that go down into the bathroom, so if you have any issues with mobility, you might prefer the lovely bedroom on the main floor. Breakfast was delicious! Yummy fresh pastries, fruit, juice, yogurt, cereals, coffee/tea - and I am probably forgetting a few other items that are on the buffet. This B&B is perfectly situated near many interesting sites, shops and restaurants within walking distance. We stayed for 4 nights and were very appreciative of the hospitality of our hosts. We will definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to return to Bologna.

The hotel is located on the main road of Bologna, across the road from the Cathedral. On the day of the check-in, a grand religious celebration is held, as it is close to the road and you can walk through the road to feel. The room is large, especially the bathroom, and it is no exaggeration to say that you can dance inside. There is an emergency alarm rope near the toilet and the shower. I have pulled two times in the unknown. I have to call the security immediately and need no assistance. It is quite professional and safe. The bathroom accessories are famous Italian brands, the quality is very good, they are brought back to China after they have not been used up, especially like it. The breakfast room was slightly crowded and the dishes were average, but there were even porridge dishes. Later, I learned that there were Japanese monks and local religious groups to hold a friendly relationship and cooperation ceremony during the stay. It was very interesting to walk from the hotel. The restaurant waiter also asked us about Chinese tastes and Chinese cuisine. Although the English communication between the two sides could not convey the essence of Chinese food, they communicated clearly with the help of the body language and imagination. The breakfast was really good. A cultural exchange platform, the restaurant waiter is also very friendly. In general, although it is not the best hotel in Italy, it is also a great place to experience.

This was a very interesting place to stay. What struck me was the birdsong - all sorts of songbirds and woodpeckers singing. When they stopped the owl started hooting! The casa really is in a lovely location, and it was very easy to catch the number 52 bus into Bologna and back. Travelling for the Children's Book Fair, I felt I had the best of both worlds - easy access into the beautiful city, but a peaceful environment to relax in in the evening. I loved watching the sunrise beyond the mountains in the morning. My room was spotlessly clean, and the bed extremely comfortable. I enjoyed meeting the interesting staff and other guests. I do agree with pinkchouchong that the lady who made me a delicious pasta dinner one night when the restaurant was closed, and saw me off in the taxi this morning with sweets and chocolate, was very kind. Rooms are basic but bathrooms are modern with great showers and everything works, even the lift to the second floor, so no problems with luggage. It was so easy to book and stay at Residenza Ariosto. The office where we had to collect the keys is right opposite the apartment. Salvatore was very very helpful and even carried our heavy cases up the stairs. The apartment had everything we could need, unlike many others. It was spacious and being winter it was warm. A nice bonus is a washing machine. We had a few issues with WiFi as they had just changed suppliers but they fixed it up quickly and even offered us one of their own WiFi’s. There are 2 supermarkets close by and plenty of restaurants and cafe. Very easy access to the old town and the huge markets. The day we left Bologna our car was late picking us up and Salvatore rang the driver and sorted out what the problem was, the plane was delayed and the driver had been advised but we hadn’t. He even offered to make any restaurant bookings or anything else we could need.I can really recommend Residenza Ariosto and the Studio Vita Apartment team.

We stayed only one night in this “4 star” hotel. The rooms look great on pictures, thats why we decided to book this hotel. The reality is completely different. The room looked old, the floor was horrible I wouldn’t walk barefoot there. The bathroom was huge, guess because we got a room with disabled access?? I don’t understand the dirty rug inside the bathroom... There was no side tables next to the bed, so you have to sleep with your phone, tissues etc. There are no key cards what you would expect in a 4* place. They giving you actual keys. I had to use the toilet at the reception as our room was not ready yet. It was the narrowest toilet I have ever seen in my life. It definitely needs refurbishment. The breakfast was the biggest disappointment. Small, lacking variety and didn’t look fresh. The lettuce was rotten under the cheese and cold cuts. I couldn’t eat anything else but bread and nutella. The staff was nice at the desk, and I liked the fact that they tried to keep the old character of the building in the lobby. Wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t stay here again.

There are plenty of restaraunts, shops and sights to see. Also convenient to public transportation. The public spaces are fabulous. When I was there they were remodeling the breakfast room and courtyard. From what I saw these spaces are going to be fabulous. The courtyard allows you to feel as though you are outside but don’t have to deal with the noise of the city. My room was wonderful. The bedroom was large with a tv, a desk and a mini fridge. The bed was so comfortable it was amazing. The bathroom is a good size with plenty of hot water. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. We had no doubts whatsoever as the staff was always wearing masks, kept distance and disinfectant was placed everywhere. The location of the hotel and the roof terrace were an absolute dream!!! Food and drinks there were amazing, just as the wonderful team! We absolutely recommend this place and will definitely come again!!! Mille grazie!!!

Bologna City Center

Bologna City Center
Antique, downtown, especially good, breakfast is not bad. Going out is the Municipal Grand Plaza. The layout of the room is very hard, with beautiful candy and vintage copper keys.
