My husband booked our stay at Avia because he had a conference at the Marinaforum conference center just a few KM down from the hotel. From the outside it looks like a very old hotel that is nothing special and I personally wouldn't have chosen it if I had booked the hotel for our Regensburg stay as I feel that curb appeal says a lot about how much you care about your business. That being said our stay at Avia Hotel was very good. The staff were super friendly and helpful when we had questions or needed a taxi. It was a very quiet hotel, we were likely the loudest there because we had our 9 month old who was crying loudly as she was sick most of our stay. The decor inside the rooms is also outdated and the bathroom was quite small with the shower door hitting the sink when you try to get in and out but we had such a good time that it didn't seem to matter. The breakfast in the mornings at the restaurant was also good. Sadly we didn't get a chance to eat dinner there but will try it if we ever come back,.

Perfect for 1 night stop over whilst en route back to Calais from Austria. Modern hotel with spotless bedrooms and bathrooms of a good size Good wifi and car parking (be sure to park in right area to avoid getting a ticket) Reception staffed 24 hours a day which meant even though we arrived late (after 11pm) we were still able to get a drink at the bar before going to bed. Did not have breakfast so unable to comment Outside Regensburg centre and nothing to walk to close by in terms of bars/restaurants but as all we wanted for the night was to sleep that was perfect for our needs.

We stayed 5 nights and absolutely loved this hotel and Regensburg. The rooms were immaculately clean and well designed. There is no air conditioning but room fans were sufficient in the hot weather. Breakfast was also excellent. The breakfast area is small and can get cramped when busy, but this was only a small issue. The hotel is 5 min walking distance to the centre. Regensburg is a completely beautiful place and we enjoyed every minute here.

This is a difficult review as there are some really good points and there are some not so good points to this hotel. Defuinately more work needed to raise it to a first class one. First the goods points 1. Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff 2. nice courtyard garden with all sorts of art around 3. Styling is really interesting with much furniture made from old suitcases. 4. Breakfast was good with proper english style bacon 5. very close to the town for eating and shopping And the not so good: 1. 8:30pm the hotel literally closes up and you have to call a security company to check in or if your keycard does not work. 2. my room had a double bed with one pillow and a very thin single duvet that only covered about half the bed. 3. Really nice shower but the drain is not well designed and after about two minute the entire bathroom started to flood As a short stay this is ok but i think more work needs doing just to raise it that bit more.

Stayed here for two nights. Hotel is relatively expensive if you look what you get, small room with small bathroom and tiny sink. Breakfast if you can call it so is good but funny, 2-4 bread, some type of salami but from each only a few pieces. You have to pay attention on stairs because the first one is higher then normal. But nevertheless staff is kind and helpful, hotel has a big free parking place and rooms have good sound protection and are clean. Location is good.

The location of the hotel is lovely - we had paid for a river view room and were pleased with the view we had. The initial welcome from reception was nice - we were early so we went into town while our room was sorted. It was an easy walk to town and the Christmas markets at the Spital on the otherside of the river as well. Parking was ok - €16 per night now, but it was secure. Most of the street parking around the area is residents only or with some restrictions, so we opted for this so we didn't have to move the car. The big issue we have with the hotel was noise - we were in room 203 which is just off the large atrium where the bar is. The noise travels up through this and into the rooms surrounding it so you can hear the noise and voices from the bar. There is no door between the atrium and the corridor that the rooms come off. We noticed this immediately and asked if we could move further away from the atrium as we are sensitive to noise. My wife, not feeling well, wanted some rest before we went out for the evening. Furthermore, there is piped "lift music" through speakers in every corridor throughout the hotel most of the day. Reception acted as if they had never had this issue before. They allowed us to see another room (the only one left they said) and this was significantly inferior to the one we already had, but was indeed quieter. We had a quick chat and decided to stick with the one we had and I went back to reception to inform them within 5 mins or so. What happened then was bizarre ; despite ME apologising to THEM for the inconvenience (such is my nature!) the receptionist reacted badly, threw the keys on the desk, sarcastically said "Have a nice day" and turned away from me. Another member of staff nearby was also a bit taken aback by this. All very strange. Anyway, the room we had was nice, if a bit dated, and we actually slept well in the end, but we do carry ear plugs for this kind of scenario. There was a large bathtub, which my wife approved of, however the shower was handheld and there was nowhere to attach it at head height over the bath. Given we were in an upscale room - I found this a bit odd and old fashioned. There actually would be room for a separate shower cubicle in the bathroom it was so large. But alas no. There is noise if you listen for it when it is quiet, but you might not notice it all the time. I would recommend the hotel ditches the piped music in the corridors though - this is easily heard through the room doors and some people do need to rest during the day as well as the night (when it is turned off). The bar man in the evening made up for the unpleasantness earlier in the day - he was cheerful and recommended a range of drinks. We enjoyed the view from the bar and the drinks we had there. The room wasn't serviced properly between the two nights and I had to go back to reception and ask for more tea and coffee - again they acted as if this had never happened before, but were helpful in

Kneitinger Alter Schlachthof is located 10 minutes easy walk from Regensburg Altstadt. Considering the price of the room it’s perfect. Our room (110) was huge, clean, quiet - with a great bathroom. The twin beds were firm, and we had a wonderful sleep. We thought that breakfast was too expensive (€10/person) - but there is a bakery-coffeeshop located 2 minutes away, so no worries Parking in front of the hotel is free (though it is a little hard to find).

We stayed two nights in this hotel located just near the cathedral. The location is excellent, the rooms are spacious with very high ceilings. At night the building has a bit of an eerie feel to it, but overall it was ok. It is certainly not as 'warm' as they make it appear in the pictures, though. One issue was noise. The windows are very big and the glass is very thin. Since the room was facing the road, the noise of the street, although limited, was amplified by the building's structure and position. You could hear cars passing by and the occasional night reveller. The old fashioned lights in the bathroom were heating up considerably and this was also producing a crackling noise whenever the bulbs were heating up or cooling down. Another little problem was that when we arrived, the staff who checked us in gave us wrong information regarding breakfast and told us it was until 10.30. When we went for breakfast the following morning at 10, they were already closing down the buffet as breakfast was actually only until 10. The staff was kind enough to allow us to eat, but the food remained was limited. The instructions we got for the public parking were also not that great and we had some difficulties reaching the public car park nearby as the one way system is quite intricate. We were luckier with the car park itself as being the beginning of the week it was not crowded and we found ample space. Breakfast was just ok (not just first day, when we arrived late). Staff were not offering anything apart from what was on display. No eggs made to order, just a limited selection of cold cuts, slightly stale scrambled egg and the usual stuff. The croissant was quite good though. Since the hotel was not full some more attention could have been paid to the few guests present. Also during the reservation phase, staff were unresponsive and were replying only when contacted through booking.com. Overall, the staff seemed a bit hands off, giving the impression of being there just by chance, without really knowing what the hospitality business is about. Maybe due to the coronavirus problem they have limited guests and they are currently under staffed, as the same staff were working both as waiters and room cleaners. The price was relatively high for the service and the breakfast provided. The main plus of this hotel remains the location. Overall it is not a bad choice for Regensburg, but considering the potential of the place, they should try to give more attention to the details and the guests.

If there were a reason to travel, it might be the breakfast at the Orphee in Regensburg. But merely showing up in the morning and purchasing it from the staff would not suffice in attaining the level of zen you get when it comes as an included part of the stay at the hotel. Truly, time can stop for you when you stay at the Orphee. I always remember the clickety-clack of the wheeled suitcase as I pull it through the old town from the train station, turning onto Untere Bachgasse and coming up upon the hotel with the varied guests sitting outside all staring at the people who walk by. They try to add a French flair and achieve it on most days. The staff always seem relaxed and compel you to be the same. Book a room. The price is fair. They don't kill you during high season and don't give it away when they are empty. They ask a fair price for a service and deliver much more. The rooms include water and wine for your evening and the Orphee Breakfast in the morning. Breakfast has a few standard options, but if you need an egg and bacon, they not only bring it to you at no charge, but are happy to do so. They seem to know who you are, aren't worried about nickel and diming you, and just want to provide a comfortable atmosphere that is their artsy hotel-restaurant combo. Others have described the unique rooms, but I like the style and food that come with the Orphee. Yes, they have no AC in the hotel, so if that is key, then stay away. But for every other reason in the world, head there and renew your faith in travel. I myself travel a lot and am often in western chain hotels but the Orphee reminds me why travel is important and why hospitality can be beautiful.

We recently stayed here and were very pleased with the hotel as far as convenience, cleanliness, and ambience. It is a very pretty hotel as well. The breakfast was superb, one of the best during our travels. However, the hotel was quite the challenge to FIND as it is not accessible by car. I initially walked to find it and was informed of the preferred parking garage, that we eventually unable to find! Lots of construction and many, many one way streets...kind of difficult. I feel that the front desk staff was neither extremely friendly or helpful either.

I belive this was the fourth time we spent the night at this hotel on our trip back home from Croatia to the Netherlands. Every time we had a great experience. The whole hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with all facilities we need. There is a coffee machine that makes tea as well. For our baby we needed to boil water, a kettle was arranged by the reception desk within 1 minute. By our booking we requested a baby bed. We haven't received just a camping bed for the baby, but a real crib, a changing mat, big towel and even a diaper/nappy bucket. In the summer we used air conditioning that worked well. In the winter the heating was working too well, but you can turn it lower at the radiator button. It's also nice that you can open the windows for some fresh air. Two times we had dinner in the restaurant whitch was good. The staff of the restaurant was also friendly. We olways book including breakfast, because the breakfast is just great. Only 2 things I have to mantion, but that don't have any negative influence on my stay at the hotel. - when making a reservation, you can only choose for suites if you enter you are traveling with children. This while 2 children up to I belive 12 or 14 years are free of charge when staying in the same room as the parents. I solved this by booking for just 2 adults and mentioned in the requests area that we are traveling with 2 children. I requested a baby bed and an extra pillow. It would be nice if you could choose between all rooms while making the reservation for 2 adults and 2 kids. - after I made the reservation, I got a confirmation, but no confirmation about my requests. All my requests ware granted, but it would be nice to know in advance.

Only ten minutes walk from the train station, yet only five minutes from the centre of the city, in attractive cobbled street. We had three nights here, found the location to be good, the hotel is quite modern inside, with very friendly staff. There is a lift to all four floors but is remarkably slow. Our room was on the fourth floor, was quite small, but had a good bathroom, unfortunately it was noisy, with a cafe-bar across the street that stayed open into the early hours, particularly Friday and Saturday nights. The church bells chime from from 0600 and occasional traffic rumbles over the cobbles. So, if you get a rear view room on the first three floors it will be much quieter. The buffet breakfast was superb, well cooked hot food, excellent choice of breads, lean meats, fantastic array of fresh fruit. The staff were great, extremely helpful, offered a welcome drink on arrival, plus drinks at other times. I would definitely stay here again.

Location is ok if You look to vist the City and T&T Christmas market. Parking is payable but the garage ist scary and dirty, difficile to drive in and out. Looking more as a medieval hole as a 4stars hotel parking. Reception girl unfriendly and arrogant ( extra pillows was not deliverd not even 3 hours ). Room was cold (open window in 23Nov !!) , the bathroom cold as well ( the windows are old and not closing well ). A very small toilette complete the room picture who is far a way from a 4 stars hotel expectations. Hotel have no lounge, bar or cafe, no room service and the breakfast ( poor quality as well ) is served in an other room nice decorated but withoit any flair. It is an old building, we know, but , I thing the service (reception girl on 23.th Nov. /24th Nov morning ) is , even, worst. Nothing else as a "location" but far away from whta You expect in a beautiful city in Germany ( 4 stars hotel is too much !!). Room (101) was on the street opposite side and very loud in the night .

Had a wonderful stay here. The staff are friendly, and the room was clean and modern. Breakfast was excellent with a large selection in their buffet. While my husband was at a conference, the lovely Nicole on Reception helped me plan my trip to the Old Town by bus. It was extremely simple and the hotel is perfectly situated with a bus stop right outside. The buses here are excellent. Nicole also came to the rescue when my phone charger died providing me with one to borrow until I could buy a new one, and once again, she got me a late check out so I wouldn’t have to wait for a couple of hours in the lobby. Thank you for making my stay really enjoyable Nicole. You’re a true asset to this hotel.

Those were my first thoughts when I walked into the room: wow, this place is amazing. The rooms are way above what you'd expect for a hotel in this price category, everything is brand new and the artwork is beautiful. The huge king-size bed is one of the best I've ever slept in. The bathroom is super modern and the whole place is spotlessly clean. The location is perfect and there is a big parking garage just opposite the hotel (parking is only 8 Euro for 24 hours if you stay here) The only slight downer was a bit of street noise, but this is almost unavoidable in Regensburg anyway since it's a student town and there are a ton of young people out partying every night (incl. during the week). Highly recommended this place, one of the best hotels I've stayed at. I'll be back. P.S. Adam on check-in is a legend too, funny guy and very knowledgeable about the area. And you get a free drink at the bar next door when you stay here, what more could you want?
