Visited Budapest in mid April for a 3 day break. Chose the Hotel Victoria for its location and views over the River Danube to the Parliament Building. It was a perfect choice for our short stay. Very clean room and facilities, decorated in a 'Boutique' style. Polite and helpful reception staff, and also the staff in the breakfast room (who will offer bacon and eggs in addition to the already extensive spread) Wifi is very strong and there are hot drink making facilities in room. Bed is comfortable and there is no street noise - even from the tramline that very conveniently has a stop right outside the hotel (must be very good sound proofing). Bathroom is modern and clean with a strong, hot shower. I recommend this hotel.

We stayed for a week recently and thought the hotel was excellent. All the staff were really friendly, the chap on reception (possibly called Vincente?) was super helpful, simply couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was good and plentiful. A good choice of foods with some rotation during the week. The breakfast room staff were very polite and welcoming. (I question the review around breakfast not having much and saying they went at 9:30, not sure what they expect with 30 minutes to go? Get up earlier!) Rooms are a good size, are very well kept and cleaned every day (as you'd expect but some hotels don't!). I had my birthday whilst away and when we got back to the room on the evening of my birthday there was an ice bucket with a bottle of bubbly and 2 glasses waiting along with a birthday card! They must have got my birthday from my passport! What a lovely gesture. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of Budapest, on the Buda side and near to the Castle District. It's only 5 minutes walk to the Chain Bridge / Clark Adam Square where you cross over the Danube into the Pest side of the city. At the time of writing pedestrians can't walk over the bridge but you can get any of the buses from Clark Adam Square for FREE if you're just getting off at the first stop. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again without question.

The hotel is conveniently located very close to public transportation. The tram is right across the street and the Metro station just a short walk away. You can also walk across to the other side of town where all the stores and restaurants are by using the Chain Bridge. However the bridge was closed for pedestrians last month, not sure if it is now open. Our room was a good size and we had a beautiful view of the Danube river and the Parliament. The small balcony outside our window needed to be cleaned though, as there were spider webs everywhere. Realized that after I stuck my head outside to look at the view.. You can also look outside the window in the hallway when you get off the elevators. It has a nice view of the castle at night. Bathroom was fine, there was a nice bathtub with a nice shower but I found the bathtub very high and it took me extra effort to climb in and out. Never had that problem before but for some reason this tub was not easy to climb into. The breakfast had many yummy choices. There were not many changes in what they offered everyday, but still they had many choices and also many different coffees you could prepare on the machine. Front desk staff were cordial and one young man in particular was very helpful with everything that we needed. I don't remember his name but he was in his 30s I believe with a goatie. All in all we enjoyed our stay! The only thing we wished is that this hotel had a pool, but oh well!

We stay here when on business in Budapest, and usually don't have problems but staying in 315 recently we were put next to people having a party in 317, it was really noisy, some kind of last night in Budapest flight crew thing. Why would you put business people next to party people? It just made no sense. We got moved for the night to a quieter suite on same floor, 323, which was great but the next day the front desk ”miscommunicated” us to the breakfast area to collect our breakfast boxes. Its puzzling. Overall the staff are super friendly and things usually go without a hitch and on that basis I would recommend. I really hope standards aren't slipping as it would be a shame.

Super good, just below the Fisherman's Bastion, close to the chain bridge, all kinds of convenient travel, free public playground at the door, very suitable for children to play, the room is super good, breakfast is simple but the horns are super invincible! Chose this hotel for the good location and the fair price and honestly didn't expect too much from looking at the pictures. When we arrived we were allowed to check in way earlier than normal. Our room was small but functional, beds were cozy and there was plenty of room for storage. Everything was clean and the rooms are fairly noise proof. Our room was next to the elevator and we didn't hear it once. Breakfast was extensive and really good quality. The staff we interacted with was incredibly friendly and helpful, we felt so welcome and really enjoyed our stay here. Fully recommend, really an underrated hotel.

A solid performance from a good 'all round' experience. The hotel hasa great location overlooking the Danube. Well placed for nice walks, boat trips and restaurants alike. The hotel serves a thoroughly decent buffet breakfast in pleasant surroundings. The lobby and bar areas are very slick, contemporary styled and show a high degree of imagination. There is a physio /medical facility too. Seems to be very popular - offering a range of treatments. The spa pools are decent and the gym well equipped and a nice atmosphere. Great hotel, excellent stay and would welcome the opportunity to stay there again.

Check in at 12:00 on the same day, the hotel counter staff took the initiative to say that the room has been cleaned, and they can let us check in in advance, which is great! Although there are only four stars, the location in the city center is great. It is only a 5-minute walk from the New York Cafe. There is a shopping center next door, which is very convenient. Ask the hotel service staff about the taxi service, and take the initiative to remind us that the price of calling a taxi through the hotel is reasonable. It is a very nice and clean hotel with an excellent location in downtown Budapest. The front desk staff were kind, fast and helpful. I can say that everything in this hotel was excellent except the breakfast that could be a lot a lot better. 1- Not a lot of choices to eat in fact ... honestly not a lot choices that such hotel normally has. 2- The warmest things to eat or drink was the tee and coffee but nothing else. 3- Lack of the servers. Few available severs were smily and really active running around to collect and clean the tables after someone left, but during having breakfast no-one came to collect used dishes from the table at all. (Non of the tables not only mine)

We loved this hotel. We stayed here for 4 nights and wish we had booked for longer. The hotel is set back in a square and not immediately visible from the road but no difficulty in finding it. We stayed in room 701. The beds were really comfortable and the room was spacious. No noise from outside or inside the hotel was heard which enabled a great sleep. We had a coffee machine in our room but it had no instructions and we had no idea how to use it but there is a coffee machine at reception available all the time which supplies delicious coffee. The buffet breakfast was more than we could ask for with fabulous scrambled eggs! We had a late flight but the hotel supplies lockers for luggage free of charge so we were able to make the most of our last day. All members of staff were helpful and friendly and our housemaid was lovely. This hotel is in a lovely area for exploring and very central. We would definitely return!

There’s a great range of appliance and kitchenware, alongside a washing machine and iron. All in all it’s perfect and very well presented. Only thing that let them down was the cleanliness, we found hair everywhere (even round the sink and in the bath) balcony was dirty and so were the table and chairs. If it was properly cleaned I would have said 5*

We had a reasonably sized 1 bed appt. From other reviews I was worried about noise and bad behaviour of groups of tourists but this is a block of 90 apartments and only 24 are tourist rentals. Others include a number of people with the title ”Dr” so they are not riffraff, if you know what I mean. Our stay so far has been very quiet. Almost no noise from inside the block. It's the centre of a city so there is road noise etc but the windows are triple glazed so keep the noise out very well. Lift and corridors are all v bright and well cleaned. The area is touristy to some extent with loads of good value eating places including a very popular Hungarian restaurant where you need to book called Getto Gulyas. The area as a whole used to be the Jewish ghetto so the huge synagogue is close by but that meant that the are as a whole is quite run down in appearance. I think that makes it a much more interesting feel than some of the more renovated areas. This apartment block is new enough that it's not shown on Google satellite. Apartment was very clean and well equipped with washing machine and dishwasher. Everything you need for cooking on holiday. Furnished exclusively from Ikea by the looks of it but it felt new and not worn out. Bed is comfortable and on the firm side. So far the is absolutely nothing of any significance wrong with the apartment. Maybe we have been lucky by not being near a stag party. But we've only seen one about town in our stay so far. From our experience we would recommend.

We loved our 5 night stay here, we opted for a 1 bedroom apartment. We were amazed at how big, clean and well equipped the apartment was (there were even a couple of laundry pods to do washing if you wished). The staff at reception were really welcoming and happy to help giving great advice. Location is fantastic as close to all the main sights with the metro, tram and bus stops at the top of the road. Close to some brilliant restaurants like Mozel Tof, Ghetto Goulash and Pork and Prezli (make sure you book) Really handy that the direct airport bus stop is just a 5 minute walk too. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if coming to Budapest.

Ramada by Wyndham Budapest City Center

We chose this hotel as it has just been opened and it still has this feeling of freshness. This comes with some drawbacks as well but let's focus on the advantages first. One of the most important one is naturally the location. It is just next to the main tourist places and you can visit all the main sites on foot. The room we got was decent in size; it overlooked the tiny yard which meant that it was - mostly - quiet. Apart from the air-con units which turned on and off at night both inside our room but also the generators outside. You could hear them when you opened the window. Breakfast is next door in the Mercure- albeit really good- it cannot be reviewed as Ramada breakfast. We found two things really frustrating which will prevent us from staying there again. The first one is the parking space. The hotel has no own parking lot and all they offer is looking for a place in the street. This is no good because in this area not only it is payable but also limited to 3 hours per day. Another option is a public parking lot a few hundred meters from the hotel. Not very convenient if you have luggage. The last one is the parking next door at the Mercure for ca 25 EUR per night. The receptionist at Ramada told us not to bother asking as it is usually full. Still we did ask and we conveniently parked there. The staff at Ramada are young and rather inexperienced compared to the Mercure. Finally, the glass door to the bathroom... OK with some pattern on it but still rather inconvenient when you share a room with someone. Also the elevator broke down one evening and was not functioning until noon next day and the hotel has 6 floors... All in all a decent place with no frills.

The location is good, just next to a metro stop. The hotel is located in the centre of the city. The reception treatment: the worst one I've been in different. I arrived at 13.56 and even at 14.01 did not answer me since checking was at 14.00, but the worst thing is not that indifference to the client if not the antipathy in explaining the rules... it is amazing still having read it before in others reviews users. The room that I was given was given to work at the hall of an indoor patio and had no intimacy because the inside of the room was seen from outside; I went to reception for if they could change my room and they did not listen to me directly It was all complete...which was not real since I asked the cleaning staff confirmed it to me.

At 59 this was my first stay at a hostel and I have to say it was fantastic. This one was situated in a perfect location next to the Basilica and easy to get anywhere either by walking, bus or the metro. I was staying close to a dental clinic that I was having treatment at which was less than a 5 minute walk. The hostel itself is a beautiful building and was kept exceptionally clean. I shared a room of 10 and saw many come and go as many were only there for a night. Although sleep wasn’t great due to the number of young people it was something I resigned myself to and not let it bother me. I’m nosy as hell so couldn’t wait to find out names, countries of origin and where they’d travelled. I understand there are many standards of hostel and I’m happy to say that this was great. It had a fully fitted kitchen, washing facilities and thankfully air conditioning as it was high 30 to 40 degrees. The staff were very kind and helpful and run a very organized ship. Thanks all for a great first time experience and rest assured I will be back ❤️❤️❤️

The reception was open 24/7 which was really handy for check in or if you wanted to grab some essentials like water conveniently. The place was clean and the beds were comfortable. The individual charging lockers and lamps were really handy beside each bed. I would definitely come back. Just bear in mind that there is no cleaning during your stay, which was no problem for us. I think it is hard to find a place at this price point in Budapest where you don’t need to share a bathroom that checks all the important marks - it was clean, quiet, had helpful staff, and is in a safe and vibrant neighborhood. Plus it’s cool to say you slept on the Danube river. The only negative was that it is a little outside the tourist areas and is about a half mile from a public transportation station that goes to the main part of town. So adds a little bit of extra walking to your already tired legs. Still though - very happy with this choice.

The airport shuttle bus 100E drops only a few minutes walk away from the hostel. (30mins travel) Very useful. There is a socket and reading light next to each bed and I had a change of bedding on my second day. I feel that this is due to there being no bed bookings and you choose your own, so they don't know which bed is still in use. There's a danger you may lose your bed if you don't leave things on it. There was a shared bathroom with a toilet in it and a locker provided in the room too. I brought my own towel as this was not provided. There is shower gel provided in the shower. A really central hostel, though they're is a hub of bars directly opposite, so they're is a lot of noise until very late which means I had disrupted sleep both nights. Plenty of takeaway places close for quick bites to eat and lots of café spots close too. This hostel is also very close to get to the main sights and starts of walking tours also if you'd be doing this too.

One flaw that was able to ruin my stay in Budapest: IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. I understand it's a hostel, I understand it's a ”party hostel”. I did not expect a deathly silence, but blaring music cannot be tolerated! The unbearable bass. Not even the caps could save me. There is no roof between the floor with the rooms and the floor with the bar / nightclub. The first night they disconnected at 6.30 am, the second night at 3.00 am, the third night at 4.00 am.
