A group of four of us ate here on Thursday 24th October. It is everything a pub should be and much as I remember it from many years ago. The decor is plain but homely, the beer is local and well kept and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. In addition to a usual pub menu, there were some good home made choices on the specials board and the desserts included rice pudding and strawberry jam! Between us, we had cottage pie, ham egg and chips and liver and bacon all of which were enjoyed. Someone just beat me to the last pork steak! It was also very reasonably priced. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We visited in mid January to meet up with friends on a Travel Zoo break. Staff were friendly and welcoming and most accommodating. Cosy fires roared away in the bar lounge restaurant, nice to return to after a lengthy cold walk. We had rooms in the annex, they were warm and cosy, with tea coffee and kettle. All in all a lovely experience and wouldn’t hesitate to return again. Forgot to mention great food and breakfast cooked to order.

Situated in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, in picturesque Dorchester, The George Hotel is one of Britain’s oldest coaching inns. The building dates from the 15th century, and has leafy gardens and free parking. The cosy bedrooms each have a private bathroom and elegant decor. All rooms have a TV and free Wi-Fi access and most have period features and bespoke furnishings. The George Hotel restaurant serves fine British cuisine and traditional Sunday lunches in intimate surroundings. Delicious full English breakfasts are also available daily.Surrounded by scenic river walks and countryside, The George Hotel is a 20-minute drive from Oxford’s historical centre. We (family of 4) stayed for 4 night at Whispering Cottages B&B and loved everything about it. Reservations through their own website was very swift and smooth. Both rooms (Boudoir and Boutique) were lovely; nicely decorated, good beds, wonderful bed linen, and nice bathrooms with very luxurious towels. All very clean and well kept. The Boutique room is a bit smaller than the Boudoir room, but that was no surprise as the website already contains clear pictures and description (and the rooms are bigger than they look on the pictures). Georgia and Paul are wonderful hosts, very friendly and truly doing their utmost to make their guests feel welcome. They provide a wonderful breakfast in the kitchen of their house, with plenty of choice and even extras. They also give lots of advice on places to visit and how to get there. The house is on a busy road, but the actual B&B rooms are well away from that on the other side of a lovely garden, so no noise from the road in the rooms. And the big advantage from being on the through-road to Oxford is that it only takes 20 minutes by (frequently running) bus to get into the city center. Highly recommended!

We cannot recommend this venue enough for a wedding. From the moment we walked through the door to view the venue itself, through to the day after the wedding, we were well looked after, had great and prompt communication at all times and felt confident in the venue. This all meant we relaxed on our big day and spent the time focusing on what was important, us coming together in marriage and spending the special moment with our family and close friends. We honestly couldn't have asked for anymore from the staff or the beautiful venue. It was nice to have a venue where we had comfort that everything was included in the price quotes at the start (no hidden costs), that the staff would put up and take down all the decorations for us (we literally dropped them off the day before and picked them up when departing the morning after our wedding), and that our small bespoke requests were accommodated. The staff in particular made everything run smoothly and always had smiles which was nice. We had  lot of guests from abroad who stayed at the venue in the accommadation, and, although we are local, we spent the night in the honeymoon suite which was lovely as it meant we got to spend breakfast rrlaconh with our guests that had travelled a long way.  All in all a wonderful experience, highly recommended venue by us both and our parents:)

This is the second time we've used this hotel. The bedrooms had been renovated. The Dinning room has beautiful view of the river Thames. We ate there on the first of our two night stay the food was well presented and cook just right. The Breakfast was a cooked breakfast to order with cereal, fruit and toast available on a breakfast bar. There is now a parking charge which is redeemable against some drinks. We would stay there again.

We have just had 2.nights at the Premier inn, in Abingdon. First time we had visited Abingdon. And throught what a nice place it was. And we really enjoyed our stay at the Premier inn. The room was bigger than expected. Spotlessly clean. Even though there was work going on at the hotel. It didn't affect our stay at all. We ate most of our meals in the Beefeater, with we found to be very good. A lovely breakfast with as much as you can eat, And the £5.menu was also very good. And excellent value for money. Would recommend the curry. And fish and chips. The staff were all, very friendly and helpful. Always had time for a quick chat. We would definitely recommend this Premier inn, to anyone. And if we ever come, to Abingdon, we would definitely stay again. Thank you.

The hotel itself is very characteristic, the facilities and environment are also very good, but far from the attractions, the only bus to the city center is very untimely and travel is not convenient. The hotel room is quite large. The price of Ctrip is very problematic. The price set in advance one week is much more expensive than that of the day. It will not be booked through Ctrip next time.

Chose here because it is near the son's school. But you must have your own car, otherwise it is not convenient, there are enough parking spaces and the service is good. This is my second stay. There is also a large supermarket nearby, Mai Kee, which is only a 5-minute drive away, which is very convenient.

The hotel location is only suitable for self-driving tours. The surrounding area is still relatively remote. If you go to Oxford University, there is a one-step bus, which is more than 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The car runs about half an hour and takes about 45 minutes to drive to Oxford. The advantage is that the hotel's breakfast is very rich, the rooms are very good, meet the standards of friends, we booked a room with a sofa bed, fully meet the need to bring children without crowding.

We went on a business trip in that area, staying the hotel without expectation but they left a good impression. Especially supervisor "Sunny" had helped us a lot due to language barrier as korean. In addition in last day "Gabriel" booked a van as reasonable price even though there was no van available at that moment. All staffs in the hotel are so kind and professional so i would like to recommend.

Only a one night stopover to facilitate an activity in the area the following day. Quite pleasant situation, and easy to find. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful, as you might expect. Standard PI room, but this one was nicely cleaned. My room was at the rear, on the first floor, so very quiet (nobody treading the floor overhead) and reasonable outlook. Everything I needed, although my one bugbear remains as having to sleep under a duvet; far too hot for me. I was using this trip as a test run on this establishment, as I have another visit planned in June. No need to go elsewhere, as this one suits me fine; I'll be back!

Like quite a few others on here who have written poor comments our experiences were much the same, The staff work hard and they are all very pleasant, the food in the evening was ok with a quick service, breakfast was nothing special. I agree with the other comments about the changing rooms, both the male and female changing rooms are large enough for just two people to get changed in only. We to were placed in the Barack blocks. I refused this room, it had no wardrobe, and the bathroom floor was unsafe, very quickly they placed me into the small cottage property next door, this was just again ok. I was informed that there was no builders on site this weekend, I pointed out that they were working at that moment on the top floor, Sunday morning they also turned up for work. I must say they didt make very much noise, what I did object to was the worker who stripped down to his underwear in the car park outside our room window!! to get changed. and there inconsiderate parking, please Milton Hill, allocate them parking away from the paying guests. I would have informed the on duty manager, unfortunately he was run off his feet with no day time receptionist and computers that decided not to work. we had twelve in our party, all have said they will not return again, it was not really value for money
