Firstly there is not a huge amount of choice in Blanes. We booked here due to the location. That was good. Directly opposite the beach so the few days we spent on the beach was ideal. Breakfast was good however they didn't replenish the items as quickly as what they should have but what was there was good and the staff were quick with the coffee when requested! Room was very basic and we faced inside which was a bit like a prison! However we just kept the curtains closed. Shower was powerful (always important) I hate showers which dribble out however there was no extraction system so it meant the bathroom was always soaking wet which didn't make a great environment. Would I recommend here? Yes but upgrade the room and accept it for what it is a beach hotel with no great frills.

I stayed at the Miranda hostel for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The place was spotless. The staff were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and cooked to order so it was always hot. The location was very good, a short stroll to the beach and plenty of cafes nearby. The bed was extremely comfortable. Could not fault anything. I will certainly return.

Arrived very late on the Friday after delayed flight then problems with the shuttle bus. Night porter welcomed me and checked me in. Room looks out to the front of the hotel. I was soon fast asleep. Breakfast next day was buffet style with plenty of choice The hotel is quiet and many Spanish and other nationalities use the hotel making it the perfect escape. I had booked half board not expecting to use it every night but found a choice of local dishes again buffet style so never ventured out for food so would recommend eating in if you like to taste local wares. The beach is close by and can be approached in various directions The pool is quiet and sometimes I had it to myself. I ventured to the edge of town one day but due to health and length of stay didn’t get to see much of Blanes but as this was a break to relax and recover I found everything I needed. The fair is close by and I thought this would be a problem as my room faced out onto it but it didn’t disturb my slumber. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within easy reach If you’re looking for peace and a taste of local cuisine this is the place

We arrived in the early hours and phoned for our keys - we had booked a one bedroom apartment but were given a studio - they were happy to rectify this in the morning. Our new apartment was great, lovely kitchen/living area, bedroom and stunning bathroom - just a shame about the view from the balcony! The studios are at the front of the building which have really lovely sea views which of course cannot be helped. We have enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Apartment conditions were worst we stayed in. We had a small doggy, but administrator informed us: dogs are not permitted. During our stay we heard dogs from everywhere, across the walls. Internet was very bad, as was the personnel.

We stayed for a week on full board basis (2 adults and 2 kids 11 and 15). We booked this hotel essentially based on the reviews and value for money offer with Love Holidays. Rooms - Me and my son stayed in one room and my wife and daughter in another on the 6th floor. Rooms were an ok size and cleaned daily. Would have been useful to have a small fridge in there to keep our drinks cool and maybe a kettle especially as drinks weren't included in full board other than at breakfast. They had hair dryers and aircon. Our room had a sea view (albeit a small one given the apartments opposite) and my wifes had a nice view of the countryside. Restaurant- We were full board. Food was good and had some nice variations on different days. You need to buy water/drinks to go with your lunch and evening meals. 4 glasses of water was 2 euros 25 and a pint if beer was 4 euros. Wine was reasonable at less than 2 euros a glass. One great thing is that there are some cheap takeaways near the hotel if you want plus the Supermarkets are great (San miguel c90 cents). Pools - two pools on different sides of the hotel benefitting from the sun at different times of day. Not massive but given the proximity to the beach we only tended to use them in the afternoon. Although signs said no balls or lilos in the pool the staff were fairly relaxed if there wasn't many people in there. Jacuzzi is also a nice extra facility. Location- basically great! 3 minutes walk to a beach (we got used to the rough sand after a couple of days). Supermarkets galore and tourist shops and restaurants within a stone's throw. Plus, only a 15 minute walk to our preferred bar - Joe's kitchen, which is great for sports and good beer!. Trips/ excursions - My wife and daughter took up a 1 hour jet ski tour of the coast which, although not the cheapest activity at 140 euros!, was well worth the money and my daughter (11) cant stop talking about it. My son and I decided, given where we were, to watch a Barcelona football match. We got a taxi to the Blanes station (cost 8 euros) and then a train to Barcelona which was only 6 euros 80 each one way!!😱. How cheap us that??!! Trains every half hour given Blanes is on the main coastal route (R1). Journey took about an hour and 20 mins on a smart comfy train with air conditioning. Given the late kick off time we stayed at a hotel near the ground for the night and got a train back the following morning - in Barcelona station it is worth asking one of the customer service guys walking around the station for help if needed to get the return ticket and correct platform. It is worth noting that I booked the football tickets and overnight hotel in Barca before the holiday. It was another amazing experience for me and my son. So in summary, Boix Mar was a great base for a lovely family holiday. We would happily stay there again.

We are just back from a 7 day stay at Beverly Park hotel. My partner, me and our 18 month old stayed here for a relaxing family holiday. We booked a superior room with half board eating plan. Upon arrival the hotel looks smart and nicer than some hotels in the area. The beach is a 2 minute walk down the street and there are supermarkets and restaurants around too. When checking in, looking back, I think they lacked information on telling us about breakfast and dinner, for example if you want to go out for dinner one night you can swap and have lunch at the hotel instead. Or if your are leaving early because of an early flight you can order a breakfast basket, this was never told to us, we heard from another guest, so when we went to order one, they told us we were too late. This would’ve been handy information to have known when we first arrived. They do however give you a code for WiFi (which is a really good connection and works all over the hotel, with 4 devices allowed on one code). We were booked into a superior room, which we didn’t think looked like the pictures we had seen before when we booked the hotel. However, it was a lovely room, clean and lots of room for our little one to run around in. They had set up a baby cot for us and provided sheets too. Only thing we didn’t like in the room was the smell that greeted us when we came in, it was obviously just cleaned as it was a cleaning product smell that was a very overwhelming and we had to open the balcony doors to get some fresh air in to get rid of it. The beds were very hard and firm, not something we enjoy ourselves. A point I’d like people to know too is the bathroom doesn’t give much privacy, so if sharing with someone you aren’t that close with could be awkward. There is a sheer glass door that looks into the bathroom and gaps between the door and wall, so okay if with family but just a thought for people who might not be. The swimming pool is a nice size and has a kids pool attached to it. However, because they have so many trees in the gardens around the pool, the pool is never warm because 90% of it is ALWAYS in the shade. This is the same when lying out by the pool, everyone has to move all day to be in the sun as the trees cause so much shade. We also didn’t think the pool was looked after much as there always seemed to be rubbish/ garbage floating in the pool. The restaurant is quite a big space and when entering you state your room number. You find a table yourself and head up to the Buffett. Breakfast has quite a lot of options, food and juice wise. However at dinner in the evening, you don’t get any drinks included in the half board service. They come to your table and you order drinks like wine, soft drinks or water, then you pay when you leave. This really disappointed us we expected drinks (soft drinks anyways) to be included in the half board. I didn’t personally think the evening meal food was that great, however I am a fussy eater and I might not be th

Stayed here for a friends wedding in Blanes. I know some reviews seem negative. Yes there is a hill but with a couple minutes research online you would know that. Yes it’s a little dated but overall it’s a perfectly fine hotel and a great location. 5 minutes walk down the hill and to the left is the old town and massive beach. Rooms were clean and good sized. A little strange you have to dress your bed but it’s only two sheets and a pillow case so no big deal! Pool small but deep and good for chilling after a day at the beach. All staff were lovely and very helpful. Pros- proximity to old town, bars, restaurants, beach, great staff. Cons - main issue I had was the water pressure in the shower!! I don’t mind the having to dress the bed, the hill, empty the trash etc - all eccentric but then you pay for what you get. I got a good price and I had a great time. Yes if you got kids or elderly perhaps give it a miss but if you’re chilled out and take it for what it is then it’s a lovely spot. Would recommend it.

I tried this hotel with some friends. The place has an excellent location in Blanes, a city in Costa Brava, northern Barcelona (1h distance by car). People are very nice, always helpful and alert...very positive!... However, a number of issues in the room made me think of the price/quality ratio. First off, the air-con in the room was old and noisy. Second, the room is not as clean as it should be...don't get me wrong please!, but during my stay I noted that the staff should've done more in scrubbing the room: a small couch in the room wasn't clean at all (not nice!), and I found many small insects in the bathroom (not a big deal but it wasn't nice at all). Also, the breakfast was very poor for a 3-star hotel (average room is about 50-60 euro / night): few options, many (industrial) fried bakery products (doughnuts, etc), tons of cold meats (wrapped sausage, commercial cheese), and I found only one hot-dish (scrambled eggs with onion). I asked the staff but no chance to get a sunny light egg or scrambled eggs without onion. Overall, great location and nice staff, but the rooms and the food seriously need a boost! ...trying eating somewhere else, Blanes is full of nice restaurants!
