I have stayed here a few times before. Mostly when I am in a pinch and I needed an affordable place to stay while in Blacksburg. The management are incredibly kind and thoughtful. In my last stay, I had mistakenly booked the night before my intended stay out of exhaustion while using a third party booking site. The refunds on those sites are super rare, so I shrugged it off just ended up eating it and paying for two nights when I only stayed one. When I was checking out the following morning of my stay, one of the staff members had seen I booked two nights prior and never showed for my booking. He vouched for my refund and helped me work with the third party site to get my money back for the night I had booked in error. He definitely went above and beyond to help me and it was so appreciated. I would certainly recommend staying here. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and really great water pressure. Thanks Harry!

I made a reservation at the Inn to take my son on a tour of the University. He had been accepted to Fall 2022 and we wanted to visit so he can make a decision. Our flight was cancelled 2 hours before it was supposed to leave and we could not make it to Virginia until the next day. I cancelled my reservation on the website and then tried to call the Inn. Through an automated system I was told to leave a message. I did and in my message I acknowledged that my cancellation was not outside of 24 hours and I was not looking for a refund of the one night they did eventually charge me, but a credit to a future stay. I did not receive a call back so I emailed them the next day. In my email I reiterated that I was not looking for a refund just a future credit. I did not receive an answer. I made arrangements for a new tour for my son and I at a future date. I emailed again and in this email told them that I had a new tour and would like to know if I can get a credit for the future booking. They finally responded to this email with "NO". They stated in the email their policies are not flexible and they could not apply it to a future reservation. Of course, the policy does not state that they cannot apply it, only that I will be charged. From the email they sent showing the policy: "CANCELLATION: Reservations must be cancelled by 4:00pm on the day PRIOR to arrival. Reservations cancelled after that time and/or no-show reservations will be charged for one night stay plus tax." I was charged the one night, I am not looking for a refund. The policy does not state they cannot apply to a future stay, only that they will charge you, which they did. Why can't they offer me a future credit? This seems rather ridiculous for a business to not be able to offer someone a future credit when they are willing to book a new stay right then and there. Obviously, the reason they will not do anything is because they apparently have so many customers and are constantly sold out that they do not care how they treat their customers and can afford to lose them. I will never book a room with this hotel ever again and considering my son will most likely go here for the next four years, that could be a lot of hotel rooms I could be booking during that time. For my new tour dates I have already booked another hotel, from a major chain, that has worked with me in the past when situations out of my control have happened. Like I said, i am not looking for a refund, they have my money. I see no reason why they cannot give me a credit. The policy does not state that they cannot give a future credit only that they will charge you. This is a poor excuse for a business and VT should seriously consider not having it associated with it and tarnishing its reputation.

We love staying at Hyatt Place in Blacksburg. Perfect location right across from Virginia Tech and minutes from great dining and shopping. Clean, well lit parking lot leads into a welcoming lobby with always friendly staff. Just beyond reception desk is a reasonably stocked bar and kitchen with better then average fare. Fitness room is well equipped. Pool is clean and nice. The rooms are always clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. With a son at Virginia Tech. Hyatt Place Blacksburg is our home away from home.

We had the pleasure of staying for an extended time at the Residence Inn in Blacksburg, VA. Although this was not our first stay at this hotel (we frequently stay there), it was our longest stay. The general manager, Ken Rogers, and his staff, particularly Trista and Kayleigh, were wonderful! They were friendly, professional, helpful, and presented a warm and friendly image for the hotel anytime we passed through the lobby. This hotel location is conveniently located across the street from the Virginia Tech campus as well as walking distance to local restaurants and shopping. Great location, friendly staff, clean hotel, nice fitness and laundry facilities—overall a great hotel with lots of amenities.
