This hotel was booked by a company I am working for, so I am sure it was booked purely on price as we were quite a large party. I understand that any business coming out of lockdown has a hard job on its hands, but on entering my room, I did feel it was necessary to wipe everything down with disinfectant wipes as everything was quite dusty. Some of my colleagues were unhappy with the cleanliness of their rooms. Following my initial clean down, my room was tidied daily. Wifi is poor, except in reception which has nowhere to sit and work, so if you are here on business, you don’t have any privacy to get work done. Continental breakfast is okay, but I cannot think of anything good to say about the cooked food, except that I have lost weight because I have not eaten very much. We are not allowed out of our bubble, so we have not been allowed to eat elsewhere, but if you can, I would. I have been served undercooked pasta five nights in a row, which tastes of salt, then meat and fried potatoes, which again tastes like it has been preserved in salt. Day 5 and the vegetarians in our group are stiil being served meat which could be considered quite funny, but they were not impressed. Although the staff are very apologetic, it is then replaced somewhat later with a greasy omelette which looks extremely unappetising and lonely on its plate but the soup is okay. They didn't have any sauces or gravy to serve with the food at the beginning of the week so the food tasted very over cooked, salty and dry, but we did get gravy this evening, so it has improved a little. I have been craving some vegetables with my dinner but greasy Salty eggplant is the only option. Oddly, mixed veg is served at breakfast. They dont really understand dietary requirements, so if you are ceoliac, best not chance it. I maybe doing the catering staff a dis-service, because they may have been drafted in from a different occupation, like myself and just doing their best in difficult circumstances. Catering is clearly not their forte. Everyone seems friendly enough.

The worst staff I ever came across. Who gave them this rating? Firstly, teach them how to talk to customers. We are paying to enjoy and not to crib. Total waste of money. The food quality is very bad as well.

I visited Prato during an extreme heatwave. I mention it first, because this hotel has the most wonderful and quiet (a rarity!) air conditioning throughout, which made it an oasis of cool in a world of hot. Based here for a couple of days to attend an academic conference, I loved being a short walk away from the river, the city centre and a multitude of fascinating historical locations. As an added bonus there are two nearby supermarkets, which can be visited to top up on snacks should you need to. My room and bathroom were both extremely spacious and well furnished – the (vast) bed simply has to be tried to be believed. I did *not* want to leave it both mornings I was there. I worried, as I was on the ground floor, that exterior or interior noise might have been a problem, but while I occasionally heard other guests in the distance at times I felt like I was the only person there. As a result, I slept blissfully. Breakfast was wonderful, especially as my gracious hosts explained about the providence of nearly every item they served. It is a breakfast prepared with love, to be savoured and lingered over, which I certainly did. The assortment of breads, fresh fruits and wonderful meats were most enjoyable. Enia, the owner herself, was also wonderfully accommodating in providing not only the guided tour of breakfast, but also in advising me on locations to explore across the city and points of interest. It’s the closest I’ve felt to being a visiting family member, than a paying guest, in a very long time. To meet this level of genuine and authentic concern for guests’ experiences while staying in a property was a delight, thank you. I sincerely hope to return...this time *with* my wife. I only wish I could rate this hotel 6/5 for service!!!

Beautiful place to stay in charming Prato. We were a few couples attending a conference at Monash. Each couple had a room with a private bathroom. Kitchen, living room, and patio are shared. The place is clean and spacious and the patio is fantastic. Alessandro is the owner and was very friendly and helpful. He recommended good restaurants in Prato and Florence. His wife owns a cafe in town where they make the best biscotti you'll ever have. There were complimentary biscotti and pastries, and a nice little espresso machine in the kitchen. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Prato!

Lovely little traditional style apartment – ours had a small balcony overlooking the central courtyard and views on two “streets”. It was wonderful to wake up hearing the bells of the churches each morning, have the Tuscan sun stream into our bedrooms and bathe the walls in sunshine, turning them a gorgeous gold like a renaissance painting! The location is excellent with very easy access to all the important icons within the historic old walls – Piazza Duomo, Emperor’s castle, Monash University, shops, plenty of restaurants/cafes and the Piazza Mercatale where there is a huge flea market each Sunday. You will have to travel further to reach a supermarket for food supplies. It’s a short 5min or so walk to the train station – Prato Porta al Serraglio – which trains will take you to Florence in about 20 minutes. The rooms were clean and traditionally decorated. Beds were really comfortable and linens were nice. The kitchen was compact and could do with more utensils, eg. not enough cutlery for 4 people and we did have fun trying to improvise! We attempted some basic cooking one evening and found that it was pretty impractical so chose to have only breakfast in the apartment from them on. The kitchen houses a small bar fridge, two cooktops, a toaster oven and very limited cupboards to store pantry items. The sofa/sofa bed could do with a refurb as you sunk right into the middle when sitting on it. The staff we met were just lovely and helped with anything we asked about. Reception is open for limited hours each day. We booked a week for four people, but had just one night with that many guests. Glad that was the case as it would have felt pretty cramped with 4 people in the apartment for an extended period of time, with one small shared bathroom and a small living/kitchen/dining area. It worked very well for 2 people sleeping in separate rooms. Of note, in our apartment you have to pass through one bedroom to access the second bedroom. This may not be suitable for two couples travelling together. We were a family so it wasn’t really an issue for us. If you are a light sleeper or want to go to bed early, this may not be an ideal location for you – the night life here starts around 8.00pm and continues until early morning on most evenings. It’s people coming together for food, drinks and lively conversation. There was no loud music and we didn’t feel unsafe wandering about the immediate vicinity. For us, it only added to the ambience. If travelling to Prato again, we would very much consider returning to stay here.

This nice hotel is located in the historical centre of Prato, a few minutes walk from the famous cathedral with beautiful frescos and other historical places. Moreover it is ten minuets a less walking from the train station. The host was very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was nice, the breakfast and WI-Fi good. Everything is nearby - shops, restaurants, musea. The rooms are of different size, we had a very spacious on with renovated and big bathroom. If you are a light sleeper inform hotel management beforehand, as some rooms have windows on the street with traffic. The first day there were construction works on the street, rather noisy. However it says nothing about the hotel itself. The owner took the trouble to go to the workers and ask when they stop working.

I stayed here for three nights to attend at event at the a University. The location is good, the rooms basic in a traditional townhouse and lots of stairs. The breakfast was basic and they do not cater for coeliacs. I was directed to the supermarket. No hot or cooked food. The bed was very uncomfortable
