Absolutely terrible. I walk in at 10am, and the guy at the counter does not welcome me, but instead asks for over 100myr. Poor customer service from him, he maybe be new but it would be worth that he gets some training on how to deal with customers. My first room was very dirty. There were stains around the bed, there were stains on the towel, the bathroom had not been cleaned properly, it very disgusting. The cleaners did not look like official cleaners as they were not dressed in uniform. The cupboards were dusty. I asked to move room, and the lady was very kind and moved room. However this room smelt of cigarettes!!! It was vile. Again there was same problem with the room not being clean. I felt incredibly disgusted because whose spit and body fluid could In that room. I instead checked out and found that the manager was rude to his staff. I did not get a refund on my room but did end up with all the extra cash I had to pay.

When I came there on a rainy day around chinese new year, the old guy at the reception shouted : ” fully booked” agressively, and then when I show him the booking on my phone from Hotels.com, he was a bit kinder, he grumbled about Hotels.com and then offered me a room without window without even offering a discount. I refuses because it wasn't what I had payed for, then he told me they had an other hotelandI could stay there but I had to wait for a guy with a car coming soon to drive me there, I waited for more than an hour then he drove me to the other side of the city to an hotel really crap (foto) and an other room wirhout window, I was really furious, I told then, then emailled them I wanted to cancel and get a full refund, they never replied. As soon I found a new hotel I contacted Hotels.com, they could not reach the hotel, they promised to do their best but 3 days later they had done nothing they even made a confusion with another hotel I had booked thru them, they send me messages every 5/6 days saying they still could not reach the hotel but they keep up trying, and then 2 weeks passed and nothing more, I asked them what was going on: They said they could not reach the hotel and in this case their politic was :no refund! And generously they offered me a 10$ credit! So on Hotels.com they can book for u a room in an hotel already fully booked, and then if the hotel do not reply at your request it can gleefully going away with the money and rent rooms that do not exist! In the normal world, in a justice suit if a party doesn't show up at the court he will lost, the absentee is always wrong, with Hotels.com it's the opposite!

We booked this hotel via Booking.com using our credit card to secure the room On arrival, and after filling out the relevant forms we were asked for payment as expected, at this point they disclosed it was only cash and we could not use our credit cards. Even when we showed them the booking that had no mention of the cash only policy. So, it is now late in the day and they are the most unhelpful staff we have met during our current year long trip (that bad), they would not even give us access to the WiFi to arrange another room. After nearly 3 hours and constant calls to Booking.com we finally agreed no cancellation fee would apply despite it being the hotels mistake....they would not agree to the waiver of the fee until I would not leave. They even showed me an email their manager had sent to Booking.com showing this was a regular occurrence. There are many very good hotels in Georgetown...stay clear of this one. We moved to the Royale Chelung 10 minutes away... fantastic service by very helpful people... It may have been a nice hotel, however the management and staff do not care!!! STAY WELL CLEAR

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is a Chinese colonial mansion and had a UNESCO heritage feel. The rooms we had were spacious and comfortable with large bathrooms. We traveled with another couple so we enjoyed the common spaces so we spend more time together outside of our individual rooms. Access to to the kitchen and dining area was great. The best part of our stay was the wonderful staff. They were attentive and always willing to assist. The location was walking distance to the jetty and esplanade. There are many good restaurants nearby.

Room was clean and comfy, toiletries were provided except bathrobe. Breakfast spread was huge and variety was great. Just the interior design is slightly dated and there are some funny dark corners in the hotel, but all is good! The staff are polite and service is great. My sister was panicking because she left her iPod at the gym and only remembered one day later. When we returned to the hotel to ask, we managed to claim it from the lost and found at the counter. We thought we lost it for good and was surprised we could get it back! Mr Ajib who was cleaning the gym had picked it up and returned it. We will really like to commend him for his honesty and kindness! We are also thankful to him!! It really goes to show that the staff are very honest people. Would recommend staying here if you want to be close to George Town, the UNESCO heritage area. Around 10 min walk to the Chew jetty and nearby shops and stores.

The location is convenient for sightseeing. It may be said that it is located almost in the middle of Little India. We recommend going for a walk early in the morning before it gets too hot. There are no tourists on Armenian Street, so you can take your time and admire the mural art on your own. There is an Indian supermarket across the street from the hotel, and although it's not that big, they stock drinks and spices, and the store is typical of an Indian store. It's a small inn and you have to go up the stairs, so I don't think it's suitable for people who have large suitcases and are looking for perfect Japanese cleanliness. Although the breakfast time is late, we recommend this breakfast at this inn. Several types of breads such as croissants for Westerners (I haven't eaten them so I can't confirm the taste), local menu items such as nasi lemak, curry puffs, several types of Nyonya sweets, several types of fruits, *cooked in your favorite style. you can get. Free coffee, tea, and homemade lemonade for breakfast. There is also a cafe open during the day, and the Nyonya laksa here was quite delicious. The front desk is open until 11am at night, so it may be difficult for those with a late flight.

Advantages: 1 The hotel is located in the old street, close to various attractions, most of which can be walked. 2 The hotel owner is very good, Chinese, Chinese, and the first time I arrived at the hotel, I gave a good walking plan according to the map. 3 rooms are quite big and the service is very good. (Breakfast has not been eaten, no evaluation.) Disadvantages: 1 is located in the old street, the sound insulation is relatively general, but acceptable range. 2 late night trucks? At the time of the passage, the attic will have a slight shake.

We stayed with the Ascott group numerous times for its cleanliness and well-maintained facilities around the world, and Citadines Connect Georgetown is no exception. The building is renovated from a historical building which gives the hotel a mixture of cultural and contemporary vibe. It's a 3-story newly-built hotel and everything you see is brand new and tidy. The lobby is not large, but there are plentiful spaces to rest for a while. The room we stayed in is Studio Executive, and it's clean enough. The air-conditioning system utilized a touch panel for you to easily adjust to your liking. There are no drinking bottles inside the room but a water dispenser is just in the hallway, both environment-friendly and convenient. One of the things worthy of notice is the tap water system, where hot and cold water may be installed conversely. The hotel itself is located around minutes walk from Komtar neighborhood, and you can easily take buses to the airport or to other areas of Penang via the Komtar terminal. Several malls are also in this area to give you the convenience of shopping. The well-known hawker food centre at Lebuh Presgrave crossroad is also close by, where you can easily grab most of the famous and delicious local dishes here. CAT bus station is also not far from the hotel, and you can tour the UNESCO sites with it for a day trip. Overall, it's an excellent choice to stay here for its brand-new facilities, and its convenience regarding transportation, shopping, and dining.

Magazine Vista Hotel By PHC

The Magazine Vista Hotel in Penang is more cost-effective. When choosing this hotel, I consulted for a long time, such as booking (more reviews, good or bad), Ctrip (only a simple review). Because it only opened in 2018, the hardware is very new, and the hygiene is good. I especially like to have a washing machine, but I have to find a place to dry the clothes indoors. The location of the apartment is very good. On the left is the GAMA supermarket, and on the right is the landmark of Everbright. Fruits and snacks have their own favorites! Call the front desk before arriving at the hotel, because the front desk is not here, so call in advance and the hotel will send staff to wait at the door. When you call, you need to speak English. There is a Chinese-speaking waiter. India borrowed ”Di Li” (transliteration)-Figure 6 this one. If you call him, you will have no difficulty in communication. He will come to collect a tax of MYR 10 per night, introduce room facilities, and even help you set up a taxi app on your phone. The network is poor and it can't be connected for a few days, so it is important to buy a local phone card. On the second floor facing the street, the noise of motorcycles on the street is loud, which will affect the rest. These problems are not big, this hotel is worth recommending.

This is a newly opened hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, very quiet, and free parking at the door. The most important thing is that the boss is very nice, very enthusiastic and speaks Chinese! The location is also top-notch, it is easy to find, and there is a big night market at the door. I'm here to travel. The cause of the epidemic will not go away for a while. I have lived here for a while and I feel very good. I highly recommend it

The hotel's location is acceptable, though it's not particularly close to the old town center. Regrettably, the Wi-Fi was nonfunctional throughout my stay. Despite reporting this issue to the receptionist, who insisted it was operational, I was even unable to receive messages on WhatsApp. The room, while somewhat compact, is manageable for a brief stay. An odd design choice is the air conditioning unit, which is positioned directly opposite the bed. This made it uncomfortable to use at night, as the airflow directly targeted the sleeping area.

First experience with capsule hotel bed and dormitory with 3 other lovely female travellers. Fortunately, it was an experience exceeding all expectations!! First WOW - look at all the cultural heritage, beautiful art, antique items and furniture, the Feng Shui Koi pond, water fountain, greenery! OMG- better than visiting a museum- you get to live and experience it!!! Second WOW- looking for street food? Walk around and you see stalls selling the local delish: SATAY, Lok Lok, Char Hor Fun and other stalls. Also, the handicraft stores with Batik and wooden sculptures! Other amenities : open swimming pool, 3 shower room next to it and hair dryer (tip: the water pressure and shower much more satisfying compared to bathtub or shower inside dorm room, and a game/ relax room filled with couch to wind down after a tiring day. and just Final WOW- the receptionist and staffs are helpful and well-informed! Guests were invited to join in the fun and you can see guests lounging in the open, relaxed and chatting with the staffs! Room for improvement: mosquitoes... can't seem to get rid of them ( so be prepared) and the places are considered clean... but not spotless. I hope this culturally rich building can be well maintained, and the places be properly upgraded even more as it succeeds as one of the most valuable hotel experience in Georgetown 🥰

I recently stayed at SAVV Hotel in March/April 2023. I have stayed in George Town a number of times over 10 years and this (relatively new) hotel is really working very hard to look after guests and now tops my list! Everything was fantastic - staff very friendly, outstandingly helpful and professional from reception, cleaning, to security and maintenance. Hotel is spotless and the small pool gorgeous to cool off in (cleaned regularly). Busy location but I liked this as a solo traveller and felt very safe - easy to catch a Grab car at hotel entrance. Special mention to Mae and Kathy who made my breakfast every day - thinking about that great homemade jackfruit jam! Thanks everyone for making my stay so enjoyable. See you next year! We were looking for a unique hotel that would reflect the uniqueness of Georgetown and were not disappointed. The hotel is in a renovated set of historic shops in the middle of wonderful Georgetown with the owners having done a lot to reflect its heritage. Is the hotel perfect, maybe not - our room (Argus Suite) was relatively dark, the bathrooms are not always perfectly designed - but this for me is perfectly acceptable knowing you are staying at a historic location. Do I remember all the typical large chain hotels I stayed at - no. Will I remember the Seven Terraces - yes.

I stayed one night here for my medical check up at Island Hospital. It’s near only 3 mins walk (to Peel Wing-new building of Island Hospital) and it is only across the Macalister Wing of Island Hospital. So basically it is convenient for hospital’s patient. Check in was good, required MYR 100 deposit (they’ll give you back once you check out). They give towels and body soap only for amenities. Got water heater also. No bedside table, so I have to put a chair to charge my phone. There’s a fan and aircon, I can’t adjust the aircon temperature though, the remote is there but no battery and I tried to use tv remote battery, nothing happen. No restaurants or food stall near the hotel, can order from grab or just walk around to find food. Well, overall it’s value for money hotel. For medical trip to Island Hospital, this could be a good choice. Other than that, personally I would choose another hotel closer to other things in town.

The location is great. Breakfasts very good. Perfect pool to cool down (cold water, seriously), good choice. For me, the location and the swimming pool (because of my daughter) is ok. I recommend it. But: Zero wardrobes, cupboards etc. We had to keep everything in suitcases and there was not even a towel rack in the bathroom. It is much more important than an extra toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. Besides, calls from a nearby mosque are awakened. These are the details that irritate. And the pillows - high and hard. In addition, the hotel complies with the description and you can safely spend a few nights in it.

First time staying at VOUK hotel. It’s definitely not the most luxurious hotel, but for the price point, it’s worth a stay. Pros: Location is perfect, with lots of local delights within the vicinity (2-3km away). Receptionist and all other hotel staffs are mostly friendly, except they are not very fluent in English and communication may be a little difficult. Cons: Amenities are not very complete, and cleanliness can be improved. The cups were not washed and carpeted floor was not vacuumed. P.S. I don’t recommend the oden from the lounge. We waited for 45 minutes even though we were the only customer in the lounge. The noodles were not cooked and the Tom Yum gravy was purely made of oil.

Kimberley Boutique Hotel is a wonderful place to relax in the heart of Georgetown, Penang. The hotel is not big, but inside it is very beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The internet is very fast and a pleasure to work both in the rooms and in the corridor. The room we were in was well air-conditioned with a comfortable work desk. The air conditioner was new and silent, and the bathroom was large and functional. The corridor is painted with beautiful paintings and you can take many nice pictures in it. The staff at Kimberley Boutique Hotel are very friendly and everything is very clean. In the rooms you have a safe for valuables and everything is very secure in the hotel. There are many cameras in the corridors and there is nothing to worry about while staying there. The doors are unlocked with a code, as is the front door. It locks after a certain time and is another prerequisite for your safe experience inside. We stayed about 2 weeks at Kimberley Boutique Hotel and everything was perfect, but next time we come back we will stay at least a month. We stayed at a studio suite in tropics eight (room 805) for a week during our visit to Penang. The hotel staff are lovely and very accomodating, our room had a fantastic binder with all the information we needed to know about tropics eight, Penang tourist destinations and bus routes to get to them. Our studio was spacious and the bathroom was clean. The sofa was comfortable as well, and the location of tropics eight was perfect for us to walk to nearby places. The laundry room was very useful, but we unfortunately had to wait a while to do our laundry as only one machine was functioning during our stay. I only wish our room had a window instead of a small balcony so that we could have enjoyed the view all day long. Overall, it was a great stay. I would no doubt return to tropics eight again.

It’s perfect for the whole family to live together! ! I have stayed in hotels and Airbnbs in Penang, and this place is really the best value for money. I was originally worried that there would be problems with the old house, but it turned out that the experience was great. It had everything it needed. The beds, tables, and floors were all of great quality, and the cleaning was more meticulous than many hotels (certified for mysophobia). Next door is the famous Shantou Street, where you can’t finish the fried rice with duck kueh sauce, roast pork rice, teahouse, snacks and sugar water... There are also supermarkets and laundry rooms nearby. The downstairs of the room happens to sell Penang specialties, and the landlord even gives them to you. When we returned, a misunderstanding ensured. Cos of my earlier encounter, I was just unreasonable. But thank goodness for Suhaila (I think) and her manager - they deescalated the situation with grace and aplomb. That bump aside, I had a lovely time. Was in room 213. Initially I was worried because I have read about noise issues coming from the club next door. But either the club was closed or the soundproofing worked, there were no disturbances. We slept like babies. The room was beautiful, and the location is amazing. This hotel is highly Recommended. Just don’t bother to pay extra for the breakfast. That was just too sad. We tried it on our last day in the hotel as we were leaving early for the airport. It was dismal.
