A few very picky niggles aside, this was among my favourite hotel stays. It's a beautiful — and beautifully furnished — hotel. Staff are unfailingly warm, welcoming and keen to help. We stayed in the top floor suite, which is superbly cosy with lovely vintage furniture, tasteful lighting and sumptuous bed linen. The cooked breakfast is a little pricey but extremely nice, and service is very good. The niggles? Their policy of having guests leave their room keys at the hotel is annoying and seems pointless, though in fairness they're usually quick to let you in. Low water pressure makes for an underwhelming albeit perfectly functional shower. All in all, Hotel Seven One Seven is excellent value and we certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay again when back in Amsterdam.

First of all don’t believe all you read! I disagreed with a lot of reviews on here, and I’m not sure what people expected from a 2 star hotel (should be more) in the middle of a capital city! 😂 We loved this little gem in the middle of the Dam! Me and my partner visited Amsterdam for five days in November and stayed at the Acostar hotel for four nights. We stayed in room 303, with a double bed and bath. The room was small but comfortable, clean sheets and towels daily. Very clean, a comfy bed, and a flat screen smart TV which you could log in to your Netflix account with the assistance of google translate 😂. There is no lift in the hotel and a lot of stairs, which they love in the Netherlands 😂 so if you struggle be sure to ask for a ground floor room. No food, but there is a free coffee machine in the checkin area which you can use till midday, and.... all coffee I experienced in The Dam was amazing! Even from a machine! 😂 For food just down the road there is an awesome little bakery where you could get warm croissant for breakfast with cheese and ham! 😋 there are loads of other delicious options too! The staff are really helpful and they will even store your luggage for no additional cost before and after checkin too! Now the best thing about this hotel is the location! You are literally around 15 minutes walk from anything! The Art Quarter, The Red light District, Central Station, Amsterdam central square! There is a supermarket around 3 minutes walk away. Next door is cute little cafe, for those who visit Amsterdam wanting to partake, but if that’s not your thing 5 minutes walk away is the cutest bar serving an array of Belgian Beers and IPA’s called The Beer Garden! Reasonably Priced too! Where we sampled some amazing beers. There is indeed a gay bar opposite the hotel, but we never had any problems with noise or being woken up and our room directly faced the street. Thick curtains kept the light out allowing us to enjoy lie ins. ☺️ The next time we visit Amsterdam we will definitely be rebooking to stay at the Acostar! and would definitely recommend.

Charming central canal side location close to tram stops and restaurants with exceedingly helpful and friendly staff would be delighted to stay here any time. Just a few tram stops from central station less than a few min walk from numerous restaurants and the museum one way and the main shopping centre the other way

Such a great find. This hotel was in a great location we could walk everyware from it and was also close to the tram stop and a 5 min walk to the bus stop for the airport bus. Views over the canal - so nice to wake up to. The only downside was the bathroom was so tiny and the walls were thin we could hear the people above us. Apart from that the hotel was clean and the beds cosy - would stay again.

Great location, but service was terrible. The guy at the front desk was rude and did nothing but talk in the phone. The rooms are nice, but the stairs are a nightmare. Again, location was amazing!

Stayed twice before but seeing as this was a special occasion I asked my other half for the rooftop balcony room ..( again ). Stylish, spotless room. Very welcoming and efficient staff. The view was stunning from a surprisingly large balcony, 4 times the size of anything typical!Equipped with furniture. Super comfy bed and great shower, robes and slippers. Perfect location , a superb starting point in the morning after a cuppa in the garden room, with museums, shopping and vondelpark all mins walk away. Bridges , houseboats and the all important bakery on the doorstep. Super quick check out , sadly ..but only untill next time. Bags were stored free of charge. 20mins walk to the station or a tram at the main road will take you there every 5 mins , in 5 mins!...A perfect stay and a perfect hotel.

Situated in Amsterdam, Leidse Square Suite provides a garden. Located around 200 metres from Leidseplein, the apartment with free WiFi is also 600 metres away from Rijksmuseum. Local points of interest like Van Gogh Museum and Flower Market are both reachable within a 9-minute walk. The apartment has 2 cosy and stylish bedrooms fitted with a flat-screen TV. The room provides guests with a fridge. Museum Square is a 12-minute walk from Leidse Square Suite. Schiphol Airport is 10 km from the property.

Oh my word. How incredible is this establishment. We were welcomed like family on arrival hot and sweaty from a long walk. Our room was stunning, beautifully decorated, huge and overlooking the canal. The bed was extremely comfy and the bathroom was to die for. There is a fully equipped Kitchenette in the room which was a lovely surprise and the fridge was stocked with beer and soft drinks all included in the room rate. Personal touches such as travel plugs provided really made us feel special. There are only 2 rooms so it's like having your own house. You are given a key and told to come and go as you please and make yourself at home. We had breakfast with the other couple who were staying there unbeknownst to us as it was so peaceful. Breakfast was served by an absolutely delightful lady who made is all feel at ease with one and other and brought the conversation to life. I cannot wait to stay here again it's beautiful in every way.

The location of the hotel is very good next to the museum area. It is also close to other major areas. The hotel has a history of more than 100 years. It is a Dutch architect who came back from the United States and the architectural design is very obvious. The breakfast is very worthy of recognition. The variety is very rich and there are fresh fruits. And vegetables, from bread and cereals to milk, many organic foods are also very satisfying and impressive. Some of the unsatisfactory places are first and foremost the renovation and renovation of some areas of the hotel (I live in a room separated by two or three). The carpets that have been passed by workers during the day are covered with plastic film noise and decorative smell. All have an impact on the occupancy experience. Secondly, the general room type is very small and cramped from the room to the bathroom. Next is the room service. After two o'clock in the afternoon, there are cleaning staff in the room to clean the room and then go to the evening. When I took a shower, I found that the toiletries were half a bottle of paper towels and only the last one left a serious doubt that the room was cleaned.

Have read a few reviews from people on here saying things like 'the youths at this hostel were high', 'should have lights off at 2200' etc etc. IT'S A YOUTH HOSTEL IN AMSTERDAM YOU IDIOTS, IF YOU WANT PEACE PAY 5X AS MUCH TO STAY IN A NEARBY HOTEL. Rant over, this was an excellent hostel for the money. At the north end of the Leidsegracht within a 20 minute walk of anywhere within the canal semi-circle inc. red light district, museums, coffeeshops, zoo etc. Stayed here for a week and didn't use a single tram. We booked out a 6-person private room for 4 nights (room 7) and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accommodation. Would estimate the dorm to be around 150 sq. ft, with three bunk beds. This is not as claustrophobic as the other reviewers would have you believe, and by no means did i have anyone's feet in my face as some have suggested. Beds and room were cleaned to a good standard for a hostel, and the toilets and showers were cleaned every morning, although with so few serving so many people they could've probably used a clean twice a day. Communal smoking area was a great thing for me and our group, but if you're not a fan of the smell of cannabis this maybe an issue. Again, though, if you come to a hostel here expecting anything else you're just plain ol' dumb. It has hard benches (I presume to stop stoned tourists from passing out there), a wall-mounted TV with international channels and a vending machine, as well as a nice view over the Leidsegracht. There is also a fridge and microwave in the reception area (we were initially worried about people stealing from it, but our Chocomel survived). In all, if you're a cash-strapped tourist travelling alone or in a group with friends, this is practically ideal. For couples, people wanting a private holiday or people with a stick up their ass about weed - why the hell are you even looking at it?

When we arrived at Park Centraal we were immediately taken aback by the classy yet cosy reception/bar. Very luxurious, all of the staff smiled and greeted us and were so helpful. I don't know what candles/room scent they used but it was fabulous! We had a standard room which was perfect (and far from standard), super comfortable bed, heated tiles by the sink/toilet/shower, lovely view of houses/shops etc. Very very comfortable room. We stayed during International Women's Day and when we arrived back in the evening after a day out a little envelope was at our door, with a certificate of celebrating the day in Amsterdam. A small touch but I thought it was so sweet! The location was perfect, right around the corner from Rijksmuseum/Van Gogh/Moco and a few other sites. Tram stop nearby and within walking distance of most of the main streets, far enough away that it didn't feel very busy. When we arrived we walked from Central Station and it took maybe a half hour, so not impossible to walk everywhere if you wanted. Really couldn't have asked for a nicer experience, when we return to Amsterdam someday we'll be sure to book Park Centraal again!

Amsterdam Oud Zuid
When booking the hotel, both of my friends and my friends clearly saw that it stated on Ctrip that it was less than two kilometers from Amsterdam Central Station. As a result, when I got off the train and looked at the map, I was about to leave the city of Amsterdam. The traffic was very inconvenient! ! ! It's really inconvenient! ! It takes more than an hour to get to the city center every day. The hotel is remote. If you plan to spend late in the city center every day, the suggestion is to book a hotel near the city. The night is a bit scary.

The Moevenpick Hotel offers a great view over the old town and is convenient accessable by train, tram, ship and car. I arrive on a rainy morning and was please with the friendly welcome by the Fornt Office Manager Mr. John Caucian who went the extra mile to make me feel special. This is very rare these days in a big hotel. He explained the Corona meassures, gave me tips for the town and a arranged a dining table and took time explain the views from my room in the 18th floor and the use the gym. All in a very polite and charming way. Next morning I got a personal welcome from the Manager during my breakfast. This personal service make me feel very special. Together with the clean and comfi room and for sure makes me coming back next time. Well done - Top service, great rooms and a very good location.

Amsterdam Oud Zuid
Overall, the hotel is nice and well located, surrounded by the main museums. There is plenty space in the bedroom. The furnituries are new as well as the bed, bed clothes and comforters. I would say that the room where I stayed was bad illumintated. My only complain is that the hotel did not enforcement what his staff said to me about the breakfast price. It was offered to me for 8 euros per person per day. When I made my check out I was obliged to pay 18 euros per person per day. To me it seems to be a normal practise at that hotel, since I did not see any token saying the breakfast price. Be aware too, when you are making your check out, the hotel will charge city taxe of you. In my case I had to pay 50 euros.

The location of the hotel is good. It is about a minute walk from the tram stop (No. 17), but the location is not in the city center, and it is quite convenient to take the tram. The service staff is very good and provide a lot of assistance. The breakfast provided by the hotel is also good, with a variety of drinks and bread. Since we only have one day of accommodation, we asked if we could leave our luggage when we checked out, and the hotel would be happy to help provide space for us! This is great! No need to run around with your luggage! It ’s just that some of the hot water bottles in the room do n’t work, and the bathroom hair dryers do n’t work either. But overall the price is very high! Cheap and convenient! If you come to Amsterdam next time, you should still stay here! Pretty recommended! The room is quite big overall!

I had another short break at the start of March in Amsterdam and once again stayed at this wonderful hotel. As always my stay was flawless from start to finish. The reception staff were so welcoming and friendly and my check in was handled swiftly and efficiently. Every member of staff, from my contact booking the room, the concierges, breakfast staff and even staff in passing are so helpful and cheerful. My room was immaculate and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable and an excellent bed. Every amenity has been thoughtfully taken care of. The hotel could not be better located for staying in Amsterdam. Although right on busy and lively Dam Square, once inside it is tranquil and elegant throughout. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. I am looking forward to returning very soon when the current travel restrictions are no longer in place. I wish everyone at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky well at this difficult time.

We stayed in this hotel during the Christmas holidays period for 2 nights and chose it due to it being very affordable and not far in distance from the city centre. Upon first arriving, we had to change rooms straight away after receiving a room without a shower head (so just the hose with no attachment..). However, this was quickly resolved by reception and we were moved immediately to another room on another floor with no problems in that room. The rooms are nice and big enough for a short stay, everything being clean and comfortable enough with lots of storage space for luggage etc. The hotel is a little bit of a distance from the centre... I would say about a 10/15 minute walk to the tram and then once you're on the tram depending where you want to go not too long... The travel from the train station from the airport was quite a distance, I think I remember this being about half an hour, but nothing too difficult. Overall, the stay was nice and is fine if willing to travel a little longer everyday to the centre, however I think because we were only on a short 3 day trip, staying somewhere closer would have saved a little bit of time. Also, if flight isn't until later on in the day and you want to explore still after checkout hours (which are early), the hotel keep your luggage which you can come back and collect when ready which is helpful, had no issues with using this service
