2.69km from Comptoir des CriquesI spent one night in Montelimar's Ibis Style hotel, arriving at 9pm and leaving at 10am the following day. I had a bad start as I experienced booking issues. I had placed my reservation well in advance through Accor's web site and my room was available only thanks to Gold status in Le Club Accorhotels programme. Two days after booking, an hotel staff member phoned to me and explained to me her property was fully booked. In her opinion, I should not have been able to place the reservation on line -Gold privilege or not- and she asked me to cancel my booking. I disagreed, complained to Accor, and finally the hotel found a solution to welcome me. I regretted having insisted that much when I checked in: a fair was taking place next to the hotel, and my room was exposed to noise until midnight when the fair stopped, despite what appeared as pretty good soundproofing (window). But the biggest issue was wi-fi which did not work at all in my room #507: network was either missing or not strong enough to connect any device. I phoned to front desk who were unable to help but informed me that wi-fi worked well on ground floor. It was true : when I moved there, I could connect all my devices. But no solution was provided for me to get any internet connection in my room, a pity as such a hotel publicises free wi-fi in guest rooms. This said, my room was large, well appointed, perfectly clean; shower was excellent, and separated lavatories were appreciated; breakfast was good and on par with Ibis Styles standard (I enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice). Despite these good notes, my overall experience was poor: I faced too many issues in what should have been a smooth relaxing short stay and actually turned the other way.
