2.14km from Comune Di PesciaWe spent four nights at the Villa delle Rose hotel in Pescia. We had been there two years prior and noticed that there had been some refurbishments done since our last stay. Some positives: Decent breakfasts with a good selection of savoury and sweet eats. Quiet surroundings, as it’s a bit off the beaten track. Train station nearby, making it relatively simple to get to Florence, Pisa and Lucca. Lovely pool area with apertivi and music every evening. Some negatives: No safe in the room! First hotel I’ve been to where there is no safe in the closet, which meant that we had to drag our valuables around with us, as the management doesn’t take responsibility for anything that is lost or stolen. No shower curtain/door in the bathroom. Quite bizarre since it’s recently been refurbished. I didn’t master the art of not wetting the bathroom floor while showering during our stay, so it was a bit of a mess and rather hazardous. Service was slightly lacking, seeing as it’s a four star hotel. No porters and we had to find our own room on arrival. Plus, the bathroom was not cleaned properly each day and we had to ask for replacement shower gels after the original ones finished, as no new ones were provided. Overall an adequate hotel if one needs to stay in the area for a couple of days and wishes to visit Tuscany’s famed cities.
