      We stayed there during the week (Room 321). The 2nd night the next room had the volume on theTV very loud. Management was called, but we could still hear it through the walls well past 11pm. In the morning we heard their loud music (6- 7am). The next evening there was a event was held on the patio - partying until 11pm. Unfortunately, a couple partiers were in the room next to us.. we were subjected to their very loud and amorous lovemaking for over an hour. We also were disturbed in the early morning hours by the family on the other side of us as their kids woke up. Normal sounds that wouldn't have been so bad if we didn't have such a difficult time the night before. While the website indicated it was recently renovated, that wasn't apparent in our room. Crack and loose tiles in the bathroom. Discolored grout in the bathtub. Mismatched paint on the headboard. Rust on the door hinges. Definitely needed a refresh that was not included in their apparent renovation. In short, if you are looking for a quiet, restful place to stay...I do not recommend this lodge.

      Even after 20 years of working and living in the Bay Area staying here gave me a view of the Golden Gate Bridge I have never seen and even better I could see it from my soaking tub. Getting the right suite is the most important thing when booking a place. I came here for a work event so I just lucked out and probably they were trying to impress me and it worked. The suite we were had a living room and bedroom separated by a two sided fireplace and the most charming window seat with the perfect view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We only stayed two days and it was too short a stay. The tub is massive and all of the decor is very redwood modern. It was a bit of walk down to the older part of the lodge from our more modern suites but the paths were lit. The food was pretty good as was the service but it's the view that you are paying for. If you are wanting to be in San Francisco this is not the place for that as it's not in San Francisco.

      Words cannot express the unsafe and unsanitary conditions of the rooms. Do not be fooled by the bright LED lit lobby as the rooms are old, filthy dirty and unsafe! Lets start with the first room they gave us. After walking in right away my wife sees a roach on the floor board. I know things like this happen sometimes so I step on it and we move on. As I do my obligatory room check for weirdos I look in the bathroom, closets and under the bed. Then I go check the sliding door to the patio and its unlocked! (Note we are on the first floor facing the back of the hotel looking at the parking lot to the property next door) So I make sure I lock the door and put on the chain latch. Does house keeping check the sliding doors? Maybe they just missed this one. (Stay tuned). So its time to go to dinner. We leave the room and close the door my wife checks to make sure the door is locked and it opens up. What? We close it again and without the key card just opens up. I tell my wife to go in the room and secure the deadbolt and I can still open the door without a key card! ***! Go to the front desk the agent is on the phone by the business center and I let her know the issue. She gives us a new room. Now we no longer have a connecting room to my kids who were staying in the room next door. Makes me think who were the poor people who stayed in our room before not knowing the door was unlocked the entire time! Has anyone been robbed in that room recently? Well back to the second room. We check the room out locks work this time! But when I checked the sliding door again unlocked! An we are on the first floor facing the street! Know this is not a coincidence! Someone is setting up guest to be robbed! No once else has my level of OCD to check every last detail. How many guest did not check the sliding door and has anyone been robbed while away from their room! Tired and hungry we lock the sliding door and go to dinner. Back from dinner its time to get ready for bed. Pull off the top sheet on the bed and its covered in little dog hairs! ***! That was the final straw! We check out and do not stay the night! I tell the front desk girl and again busy on a personal phone call she was pretty irritated that I was bothering her night. I asked her for her managers card and requested she have her call me in the morning. He response " you have her card you can call her". Sum it all up unsafe, dirty and employees who do not care. Stay away from this hotel. I stay at Holiday Inns all the time. I am not a 5 star hotel snob. A hair in the sink or tub does not bother me. But the experience I had here by far the worst I have experienced in my life! I have been a IHG member since 2002!

      The Argonaut is in a great location. It is slightly away from the main touristy area of Pier 39, but still not too far away. The building itself is beautiful and the nautical theme is nice. The staff are all extremely professional and helpful. From reception, the door people and the cleaning people - a warm “hello” from the cleaning people is always a great touch also. The room was as expected, of a high standard and most of all, the bed was comfortable! Gone are the days when I can sleep on any kind of bed and my back appreciated the firmness of the mattress - it wasn’t too firm, it was just perfect. We had breakfast at the hotel, which was very nice, but for a more all singing, all dancing kind of a breakfast, I’d recommend The Hollywood Cafe on North Point Street. We went on quite a few tours during our time in San Francisco, our favourites were out to visit the coastal Redwoods at Muir Woods, and of course, Alcatraz Island. Don’t forget the $5 all day vintage street car pass!

      We stayed for 6 nights at the property in March 2022, in one of the two bedroom suites with a view of the Bay. The accommodation was lovely, with comfortable beds, a fireplace, stylish furnishings, and it was a very generous size. The view from our bedroom window was gorgeous, and the atmosphere of this converted factory, with exposed brick and quirky spaces is very unique. Our unit was also very well equipped with everything we needed to prepare a meal when we wanted, and it was supplied with luxurious toiletries, robes and towels. The size and layout were perfect for a family, offering plenty of space and privacy for myself my husband and our adult children. We were there to visit one of our daughters who had moved to San Fran, and a couple of nights she stayed over with us and the pull out in the living room easily allowed for 5 adults to be comfortable in the apartment ( indeed, I think with the pull out the unit would be comfortable even for 6 people). The accommodation is really a high end super comfortable full apartment, so it felt like a home away from home, but with full housekeeping services! My daughter took full advantage of the large soaker tub, and as we all needed to get a little work done while we were visiting, it was easy for each of us to find our own spot to be on a computer, or alternatively relax in front of the fireplace or TV. The public spaces of the property are also terrific, offering a couple of huge outdoor decks with fire pits that were great for sitting out on a cool evening. The deck on the second floor with a panoramic view of the Bay was especially fabulous, and we had a little wine and cheese visit with some friends out there one night that was wonderful. The property's location, attached to the shops and restaurants of Ghiradelli square and easy walking distance to the bay, and Fisherman's wharf, as well as to Russian Hill, was super convenient and made the stay relaxing as we could grab a bite whenever we wanted at one of the nearby restaurants and go for beautiful walks along the water straight from the hotel. The thing that really set the hotel apart, though, was the service. Without exception every staff person I had contact with was smiling, helpful, and super accommodating. I have travelled extensively and can't recall any place I've been where the staff were as noticeably pleasant. They really went the extra mile to be helpful. We will definite come back!!

      Enjoyed a wonderful five night stay at this establishment. Everyone from the hotel was helpful and friendly. Kudos in particular to the concierge staff who was always available for tips and suggestions to navigate and enjoy the city. The room was perfect for our family of four. We had ample space for the kids to play and having the refrigerator and microwave was very helpful given the constant snacking of our children. Everything was clean and in working order. Having a laundry facility on site was also great given our needs. The location is ideal to see the many sites in the city as well as to access public transportation. The adjacent parking lot was very convenient and felt safe for our vehicle. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. I very much appreciated that my loyalty status was recognized and I was able to receive late check out.
