This is quite a new hotel, located close to the canal in Apsley. The room was sufficient for my purposes and the breakfast was plentiful. A good base to visit the local area from.

Listen In all honesty not great and the price bit much should be £30 a night. However the staff showed me the rooms before I paid and told me what to expect. Sid and Sam are amazing people who helped me out when I was going through a tough time in my life a credit to human decency and compassion. The food is amazing made up for the rooms it served a purpose and they are in the middle of doing the rooms up so give it a few months and I can honestly say this place will be amazing they work so hard and have a great little business thanks for all your help guys will defo come back again..

We celebrated our son Alex's Bar Mitzvah at Shendish Manor in the Apsley Suite on Saturday 7th March, and all of the staff at Shendish helped make it a perfect night for us! In the months leading up to the event, Zoe in the Events team was great to deal with and always very accommodating. Nothing was ever too much, and Rachel (Events Manager) took over the reins very professionally, closer to the event. Everything about the evening was perfect - the Apsley suite was lovely, the food was great, and the staff were all incredibly polite and professional. All of our guests were very complimentary about the venue, food, and staff. I would not hesitate to recommend Shendish Manor to anyone wanting to have an event there.

Stay for 4 days whist visiting our daughter . Bed was very comfortable indeed room was very clean pillows a little soft but nothing to complain about. Breakfast was nice eggs very hard and overcooked but everything else was hot when brought out to us plenty of juice and refills of coffee and teas . One person that I must really give praise too is julie she couldn’t do enough for us I did explain my wife had a stroke 6 months ago and her speech wasn’t very good and had a problem with please and thank you due to memory loss . But julie told us not to worry take your time she had plenty of time to spend with us until our order was done which was very warming to hear as many people start to lose there temper but not julie she waited until our order was completed and told us just call her when they needed refill or anything else but she kept coming back to see if we wanted anything or if there was anything she could do to help as we was leaving after breakfast on Monday . Julie really put my faith back in humans they do care thank you for a great stay and most of all thank you julie ..

I called up to book a table for 10 at quite short notice for my nans birthday. Straight away it was simple and easy. The menu was sent and we pre ordered due to the number of people. We were allowed to go down early and decorate the table. I cant remember her name but the lady who helped me organise it was lovely and very funny and helped with the surprise. The food was lovely and everyone enjoyed themselves. Thankyou for a lovely meal.

We stayed at the Old Kings Arms because we were visiting the Tutankhamun Exhibition in London and it seemed staying in Hemel Hempstead and going in by train was a good idea; and it was. We stayed for 2 nights and we much preferred staying here to staying in some soulless chain hotel. Check-in was very friendly when we arrived, our room being upstairs above the pub itself (other rooms are at the back). There was no noise from the pub in the evening, but it can be rather noisy from the road outside (traffic, not people). But as we were checking out, there were two chaps that looked like they had come to fit new windows or maybe secondary glazing, so if that’s the case then that should cut the traffic noise down I’m sure. Breakfast was very good, either a full breakfast or eggs Florentine, which my wife has both mornings, and loved. The lady serving breakfast was also great ! We ate both lunch and dinner on the first day; the gammon was very good, so much so I had the small sized one for lunch and then the larger one later on in the evening as well. All the food is cooked to order and its top quality, not industrial microwaved ready meals. Parking is a bit tricky, but we managed okay behind the hotel. There’s no restrictions so you just have to park where you can; we only had a couple of minutes walk to the car. So for our 2 nights it was great, we’d certainly have no trouble staying at the Kings Arms again the next time we visit London.

As a family we like to nip away for the weekend with the pre-teen. We usually default to a Premier Inn on the grounds they are good value, have all you need and the rooms are clean and tidy. Not the Premier Inn at Kings Langley. Oh no. Let's start at the begining. Pretty full car park, Miller and Carter Steakhouse in the garden. Greeted by Nathan as we arrived. Nice guy, warm friendly and makes us feel good. Happy, happy days. Unusually the steak house isn't Whitbread so totally unconnected. Not a problem. Up to the room and I'm not impressed. The previous occupants confectionery was under the bed and towels were soiled. Not good enough The water was cold and refused to warm up to anything above totally lukewarm Off to reception and good old Nathan explains there is an "issue" which the engineers are coming to sort out in the morning. Not ideal. Anyway off out for dinner and then back to bed. The bed sheets were really tired, had seen much better days and were threadbare. Not what you need. Miserable end to the day. I don't expect a Premier Inn to leave me giddy with excitement but I also don't expect to be miserable Next morning. Up and at 'em early and a jolly good job. Without a restaurant there is a "breakfast room" We were in at 0730 and it was pretty full. Now it has about a dozen tables so it's tight squeeze BUT Louise is in the kitchen and clearly knows what she is doing. The food was unremarkable but the best bit of a dismal experience. I'd imagine that had we been very much later we'd have been queuing. Final bit about this place. We put the room card in the box and it promptly fell out of the side. There are evidently issues here as other reviews have mentioned. It's just not good enough and I hope that Premier Inn can remedy the basics.

We stayed for one night on a National Holidays trip we were a group of three adults and three children. On arrival the reception staff were very helpful as my grandson has allergies they contacted the chef to arrange his meal and my own as I'm vegetarian. The room was great plenty of room, clean and comfortable. The children especially loved the hotel my friends grandchildren loved it they said they felt like princesses!

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times and, for the price, never been disappointed. This time the room was very hot on the first night, noisy and the mattress was really uncomfortable. This led to a real issue sleeping, but the breakfast was a worthwhile investment and the staff were very helpful. Luckily the second night it was cooler, quieter and we were more accepting of the mattress! The hotel is well located, has plenty of parking and the staff always do their best to help - even when the room's don't have any air conditioning. The breakfast is always more than pleasant, as at most Premier Inns and it's always very reasonably priced when booked in advance. Overall a hotel that meets all the basics and usually delivers more, but at a great price.

Spent the night here after visiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour. Lovely ambience and staff very attentive and helpful, special shout out to Tom who served us our evening meal in the restaurant a very helpful young man and Rebecca for her worldly knowledge of Gin! Food delicious evening meal and breakfast cannot fault at all. Rooms nice, we were in the extension around the back but I didn’t like having to walk outside to get into main building. 2 things I would like to point out that for us would have made it a perfect stay.... 1: Tables could have been cleared much quicker in bar area, especially as it wasn’t overly busy, just made it look untidy. 2: More signage and information re hotel, bar and reception area. Overall tho a great stay and we would happily recommend and stay again ourselves.
