We stayed one night before flying to Wellington. Check in was a breeze, the staff was excellent and we loved the art deco features in the hotel. The rooms were renovated with the bedroom having lots of art deco style but the bathroom was more modern - which we appreciated. They hid a power cube with usb ports, which was helpful. Parking was one block away and east to get to. You can’t beat the location for waterfront access and shopping nearby. Some good dining options as well. Only downside is Napier goes to bed early.

We booked through AirBnB, which had a great price for what we got. Separate rooms with comfortable king beds, two bathrooms (one with a jetted bath!), good heating, televisions, parking (although limited) - everything you could want! We checked in on the 19/01 for a 2 day family holiday . Check in was easy and we had a nice clean room with all the amenities. We liked the spot , the next day housekeeping cleaned our room properly too. The restaurant was good too, but didn’t do breakfast, also couldn’t understand why the pool is closed. Apart from that the stay was good, nice place on marine parade, and behind the hotel there is warehouse and other shopping.

These rooms have got a nice outlook over the park to the sea. I’m not sure they are luxury from my point of view. The bed really needed to be replaced with a mattress that wasn’t sloping and saggy. My main issue was the housekeeping service. We decided to stay in a serviced motel rather than air bnb type place because of the daily room servicing so we felt like we were really having a restful holiday. Most times the room servicing was done late in the day and was only a change of towels. We went for three days without our rubbish being emptied, no tea towel, and the bed wasn’t made, until we asked on the fourth day for a full room service then the whole room was cleaned and vacuumed and the sheets changed in the morning while we were out. If you don’t mind housekeeping inconsistencies, then it’s a nice place to stay.

Booked an executive suite for 1 night. Very comfortable, clean, modern, and private. It was quiet too which I needed. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to me. It was so comfy that I stayed and paid for an extra day to have a lovely well-earned rest in the aircon. The bed was super comfortable with gorgeous pillows. I felt I was in luxury for the day! The kitchen and bathroom are modern and pristinely clean. There’s a microwave to heat things up and a little fridge/freezer. They have sky television which was an enjoyable change from Netflix. I will definitely stay again and recommend it to friends and family🙂

An absolute disgrace. It has blown my mind reading other reviews. The pictures shown online are nothing like what the place was like. I walked into the garden shed and it was a sauna, I had to leave the aircon on full blast 24/7 for 4 days, to spend as little time as possible here. There was no wifi when we arrived, the manager did try to help, “standing outside the door you get a bit of wifi” it eventually came on the next day only in one room! There were pubes in the bed from previous customers, the sofas are completely sunken in, you cannot sit on them. I felt so repulsed even making a cup of coffee. It was that awful I would leave the house around 9am and not return til 11pm, I couldn’t handle the depression of being in this dump. I couldn’t book anywhere else as it was NYE. I considered going back home it was that awful. Also there was no hand wash in the house, given the pandemic I was surprised. There was a hole in the front door, a stain that looked like poo on the toilet wall. I cannot express how much of a dump this place is. The curtains had to be drawn all day to keep out the heat, the building is a shed, you could put a hole in the wall with your thumb. It felt like a crack house with curtains drawn all day, the weird smell and just the overall state of the furniture. To top it off, customers from the pub were rowing outside our dump unit one night, a guy punched the woman to the floor, police were called. This place needs to be bulldozed.

Good value motel right on the beachfront of the resort. Rooms are a bit dated, but they are large, clean, and have all amenities you require. There is a separate living room area bedroom and bathroom, ours also had the added bonus of a very large spa bath. We found them to be very quiet. They were short of staff during our visit, so there no servicing of the rooms, but on request, they did provide clean towels, etc. Overall a good choice for a visit to Napier.

I stayed in one of the self-contained motel apartments at the Napier Beach Kiwi Holiday Park and Motels. At the same time there were plenty of people with tents and mobile homes/campers. The location is excellent in that it is right on the beach and being far enough away from SH1 so that it is really calm and with no noise. Very well looked after by friendly management. Highly recommended.

The balcony can see the seaside, there are fried chicken and izakaya opposite the hotel, praise! ! There is free parking, and friends who drive can choose this place. The location is great. After a pleasant reception we were shown where to park the car with plenty of spaces and how to reach our room. It was spacious and excellently equipped with a lovely bathroom with a stunning view. The room had a balcony with table and chairs with fabulous views also. Room service was extremely good. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with a very good choice. All staff were smiling and polite and gave us excellent advice. The location is really good with lots of good restaurants and bars within minutes. We would unhesitatingly come here again and would highly recommend this hotel.

The location of this motel is excellent. Directly opposite the beach and very close to the shops of Napier. Whilst the room was dated, it was extremely clean and had a super comfy bed and pillows. The best thing about this motel is the manager Gaigan. He was very friendly and helpful on our arrival and when the cyclone storms hit, he was wonderful. When a disaster strikes, a person's true character is revealed. Gaigan is a man who is caring, honest and an exemplary manager who did his very best to help everyone despite being concerned about his own family and friends. He cooked on a BBQ for guests, he tried to find out information when there was little being disseminated by authorities and he was calm and reassuring. When there is an abundance of accommodation in a town, customer service is what makes one establishment stand out from others and this is why Edgewater Motor Lodge gets 5 stars, due to Gaigan's outstanding customer service.

The seasons have changed recently, and the temperature difference at night is a bit big. It may not be winter yet, so heating is not provided. It's a bit cold to sleep at night... It's very cold! 🥶 The location is very good. It only takes 5 minutes to enter the city. It is very convenient👍🏼 I'm a little confused when the counter asked me to check my credit card information. I looked too carefully... I'll keep an eye on whether there are any fraudulent transactions~ (I hope it's because I have persecution delusions🤣

The location is very good, facing the sea, you can lie in bed and watch the sunrise, sit on the balcony and have a cup of tea and read a book to see the vast expanse of the sea too enjoyable! My suite at harbour view was just what I needed. With a beautiful view and very reasonable room, I now feel refreshed. The spa bath and high pressure shower was great. The room comes with full Sky TV and outdoor furniture for the balcony. The room was spotless when I arrived. While the building is outdated, I saw two contractors painting today, so I feel the owner is working on updating and improving this which is great to see. Interestingly, I picked this motel because the room was a great price. I normally expect to see something wrong when this happens, but I was pleasantly surprised. Free parking, parking at the entrance of the accommodation, very convenient. The kitchenware is very complete, except that there is no chopsticks. Because there is a kitchen, it is very convenient to get some children's favorite food in the morning. The room has 3 single beds and 1 double bed, enough to live, plus a baby cot. It is very convenient to have a bathroom upstairs and downstairs.

The location of the hotel is on the side of the road and it is very easy to find. The hotel is a renovated residential building, very warmly furnished, fully equipped, very new! Recommended. If you travel by car, the car can be parked outside the room, which is very convenient. There is a new world supermarket nearby.

The hotel is by the sea, the balcony is on the sea and the scenery is beautiful. There are many coffee shops nearby for breakfast and there are plenty of bars. The rooms are the right size, clean and tidy, with microwaves and cutlery for a light meal. It is a little far from the city, but if there is a car, it will be 15 minutes.
