I made a mess of this. Travelled without GPS and I didn’t read the hotel email properly. I was in a rush. Had a meeting to go to and realised there is no reception, no staff. It’s all by electronic door code. Lesson learned. Always read the email. Anyhow, the room is basic, motels are basic! Nothing unusual.

When we arrived there was a towel still on the bathroom door, you could tell that the towels in the other bathroom hadn't been replaced, one of the toilets had pee stains on it, and the fridge door was dirty (see pics attached). There's simply no way that anyone took time to clean the room! Thankfully, I always travel with sanitizing wipes to wipe everything down before use but the room should still have been cleaned. The hotel itself is in a great location for shopping, groceries, and dining. The suite was spacious for the three of us and had a kitchen with a full size fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. Unfortunately there was no cutlery, plates or cups in the suite, so we had to take extras from the breakfast area and use that during our stay. Breakfast menu options such as: sausage links, bagels, juice, waffles, yogurt, coffee and tea, etc. were available each morning. Although the staff was friendly and accommodating, I was disappointed that the Homewood Suites brand that I've grown to really enjoy didn't meet the standard this time around.

We were going to spend one night at this SpringHill while passing through the area on our way back home from Vermont. Unfortunately due to some issues, we had to leave the same day we checked in. When we arrived, I was greeted by a very strong chlorine smell in the lobby. It didn’t really affect me, however it was highly noticeable. We then checked in, the young man working the front desk was unprofessional and rude. He didn’t really acknowledge us and refused to answer any questions we had about the area and property. It sadly was more of like a McDonald’s arrival experience. We then go up to both of the rooms we were assigned, one on the 4th floor, the other on the 3rd floor. We open the door to room 412 and was greeted by the most overpowering air freshener/cleaning smell, (I’m pretty sure it was bleach or something) it was really bad to the point where my eyes started burning and got a horrible migraine. It was as if they were trying to cover something up. I’ll put it to you this way, I was only in the room for two minutes, by the time I left my clothes smelled like the chemical. We then go to room 322, the other room we were assigned. As soon as I opened the door we were greeted by the same exact overpowering air freshener smell. It’s clearly like they’re trying to cover something up in the rooms. We then go back down to the front desk and were greeted by a friendly older woman. She was very kind, apologized, and cancelled our reservations with no penalty. Overall, due to our experience I don’t think we’ll ever be back. If you have asthma or any autoimmune condition do not, do not stay here!!!! Otherwise, if you love the smell of chemicals and overpowering cleaning products this place is for you!

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our king room suite. The full sized refrigerator was a huge plus. It did need some attention given to the carpet in the living room area as there are (what looked like) tomato sauce stains and a juice stain. It also needed vacuumed better. The mattress was softer than we are normally used to, but wasn't bad. I think it's the first hotel room I've ever walked into and the a/c was actually on and the room was nice and cool. The breakfast was a normal hotel breakfast, w/o orange juice. Nothing special. My husband said ”they use real eggs and not carton or powdered.” Being a holiday weekend, they were having trouble keeping up with the supply/demand for breakfast. It is noisy at night until about midnight with cars and motorcycles flying up/down the street. Music across the street is also pretty loud. I cannot say enough about the front desk staff. Matt was extremely nice when we checked in, and he also came up to the room because we couldn't figure out the bedroom TV. It's only about a 3-4 minute drive to Presque Isle State Park. All in all I would consider staying here again.
