Stayed here on 1st June for the very first time. Building and grounds definitely need some work from outside and I would have scored less but the amazing friendly team and very clean rooms made up for this. As a regular user of Travelodge (and also other hotels) I urge the company to invest in this one. Located slightly out the city in among residential streets means very quiet and no traffic/people noise. Would stay again but prefer the building and rooms in Dundee Centre one.

From the minute I drove in the car park, the design and style was out of this world. Every single member of the staff had a genuine presence, from something as simple as a smile! Room was very stylish, possibly a little dark but I had no issues sleeping which is a bonus. Dinner in the restaurant was great, a local beer went down a treat. Food was very well presented and freshly cooked. Couldn't fault a thing, will bring my wife for a trip sometime and stay for longer.

We just checked out of Staybridge Suites after a 2 night stay and we absolutely loved it. The rooms are bright, modern, clean and well equipped with a kitchen area. All staff we met were super friendly, made us feel so welcome and gave our dog attention. The social hour Mon-Wed is a great idea and well worth a visit. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had both hot and continental options. We will definitely be back :)

Stayed just for one night here and it was great. Guy on reception was really nice. Had a private twin room and the beds were so comfy. Room was clean and had coffee and tea bags etc. opted for a shared bathroom but never even ran into anyone else. The shower was really good and easy to use. In a really nice old building as well.

Stayed here for a college reunion in the city. Upon arrival the reception staff greeted us in a very friendly and relaxed manner. Our room was very clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable too. The only fault which isn’t the hotel’s is that the walls are very paper thin. About midnight/1am a couple in the adjoining room from us were having a dispute, and it lasted for half an hour. My friend and I felt like we were children listening to our parents fight while we were in bed. Despite that, we had a really goodnight sleep and breakfast was very good, with staff being very attentive.

This hotel itself was nice and can't really be faulted. The pool looks bigger in the photos. We booked the maze restaurant at check-in for 19.30 but it was closed when we arrived and had to have our dinner in the bar. We had a double room, unfortunately room 109 decided to wake everyone up at 06.00 in the morning screaming and shouting at each other. Someone from the hotel knocked on the door 30 minutes later telling them to keep it down. (Not much the hotel can do regarding guests who only think about themselves). Unfortunately it did put me off the hotel.

This hotel is in a great location! It's right next to the train station and opposite the Discovery ship. The rooms are clean, modern, and quiet. The shower has great water pressure and the pillows on the beds are very comfortable. Also, the Wifi was good. The kettle and free teas and coffees were nothing to write home about and when you use the shower you do get water everywhere and totally soak the floor because there is no door to close-just a half glass wall. This was not really a huge issue though, and I really liked staying here and would definitely recommend this hotel and definitely return!

Malmaison was a lovely place to stay with great reception staff and even an better bar team however due to the nature of the building there was a lot of outside noise. Together with noisy people in the hotel it made for a rather disturbed night. There is no parking for the hotel either so that is another reason for the 4/5 mark.

Stayed two nights as we wanted to visit the Vand A and the other to do s in Dundee. We arrived early about 12pm, checked if it was ok to park car..yes it was. We walked along the Esplanade fabulous views, and around to the V and A. We popped back to the hotel and the lovely receptionist allowed us to check in early as rooms were ready. We often stay at Travelodges but agreed these were a better class of rooms. Large bed and a bed settee I assume if you had children with you. We were fortunate in having a river view, I’m sure if you ask at reception they’d allocate one if they could. Comfy bed…bathroom with bath and overhead shower. It worked well but we prefer one with a detachable shower head, I don’t always want to wash my hair. There was an effective AC but couldn’t get warm air when we wanted it. I also prefer rooms with a window that opens but this hotel doesn’t have them. Room was very clean as was whole hotel.you need to request room cleaning before 12pm at reception. We didn’t bother but dry towels were easily available. A good deal( need to book at reception) evening meal and breakfast £24.99 Two courses at evening meal plus a drink full self service breakfast. We did that the first night. Book in plenty of time as we couldn’t book a table for evening meal. All served in attached Beefeater. Lovely staff, happy with our food. Can recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Stayed here for an Ice Hockey game...rink is on same site. Pretty typical Premier Inn stay to be honest. Had dinner at the pub next door, was decent enough. Breakfast was McDonalds which is also on site. Went into Dundee centre which is about a 10 min drive away. I'd recommend if you don't want to stay in centre of Dundee but still want easy access.

A great stay from the very start. We were greeted by the very friendly Kirsty who provided a nice welcome and ensured a very efficient check in process. Staying as a family of 4 we had a room on the ground floor. A really comfortable and enjoyable stay. Food and drink at the neighbouring ‘Bell Tree’ was also very nice. What a great surprise finding the Shaftesbury Lodge Dundee. Found myself unexpectedly in Dundee for the day and night. Really didn’t want to fork out on city centre prices but wanted a good rated Hotel and found the Shaftesbury Hotel Dundee by chance. It’s around a 25 minute (1.4mi) walk from train station. Please don’t let the 25 minute walk put you off. The walk takes you past some of Dundee’s best rated coffee shops along Perth Road on route to the Hotel. The money saved on city centre hotel prices allows you to stop by these gems of coffee shops. Arrived 2 hours before check in and the manager was super cool and friendly about it. The room looked really cozy and noticed a bed I wanted to jump into at 1pm but more about that later. Room is of Victorian design with high ceilings. Extremely clean, tidy and cozy. Kettle, coffee, galaxy drink, Pringles, bottled water and tasty biscuits all on offer. Smart TV with various apps. I had Netflix & BBC iPlayer on. Plenty of fresh towels and a great shower. Oh! The bed? Quite simply Heaven! Taken a note of the bedding and pillows and will try to recreate at home. Just finished the all Scottish breakfast (other tasty options are available). The 25 minute walk allows you to burn off the coffee shop treats and big breakfast. Best 25 minute walk in Dundee😀. Was embarrassed to have found the room rate at only £60. Sometimes you get lucky. If I’m back for the football again will seek out the Shaftesbury. Staff very friendly and polite! Thank You.

The nicest things come in the smallest parcel! Maybe small in size but always delivers. Have visited this hotel several times and have never left unhappy. It’s lovely to sit out on a lovely evening with a glass of wine. The grounds are immaculate, with table and chairs and it is very peaceful. The restaurant is first class as is the food. Rooms are very comfortable and have tea/coffee facility. There is also an iron and board. It is a short distance out of the city centre but several buses run from the town centre to right outside the hotel. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel you will not be disappointed.
