If you are taking a morning ferry to one of the islands, the hotel has a very good location and an underground garage nearby. As mentioned in other comments, the spots are rather small, which is a no surprise in Italy, but you can still fit in a suv. However, if you’d actually like to sleep, try finding another place. The beds date back to the times when the building was brand new (the 50s maybe?), they are broken, and are closer to a hammock than anything else. If you decide to use them, book a chiropractor appointment at the same time. The windows date back to the same time as the beds, and no, they do not isolate you from the outside noise - there is a busy street right below full of scooters and cars honking, as well as a bar and a restaurant, both open till 1am (or longer) and full of happy customers. It’s important to mention that you actually even want to have the windows open, since the air conditioning is in no better shape than the beds or windows. To sum up: hot, loud and awfully uncomfortable. But surprisingly clean and the staff is friendly ;)

Exceeded our expectations for price paid - 87 euro for double room including breakfast. Approx 15 min walk from the ferry terminal and 2.5km from the train station with buses running around every 15 mins in both directions from the stop just up the road. There are a number of restaurants and cafes close by. Room wasn't big but was nicely decorated and bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was modern with rectangular shower cubicle and double sinks. Breakfast was continental with reasonable selection and choice of freshly made coffees. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke reasonable English. Wouldn't hesitate to book a short stay there again.

We were looking for a hotel close to the port area to join our cruise. Seeing the wonderful reviews, we didn't hesitate booking our room. What we didn't expect was the amazing room we had with a view of the canal. We expected to walk into a typical hotel room yet found this beautiful suite that made us wish we were staying more than 2 days! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance to everything we wanted to do and plenty of restaurants close by. We also enjoyed the courtesy bicycles to tour around the city one afternoon. We took advantage of the breakfast each day and it was amazing! Thank you for providing such a lovely stay and wonderful get-away during our stay in Livorno.

Would you sometimes want -- just for fun -- to feel presidential? To have your supper on an artistically illuminated, huge facade balcony of an Art Deco building, with the flags of EU, Italy and Livorno fluttering in the wind and the scents of the sea and the trees from the alley mixed in the breeze? Then room #15 in Hotel Gennarino would be your best choice. The room is for four people but -- even if you come on your own or as a couple -- it's worth picking it. Particularly taking into account that this unique, authentic, elegantly decorated, sparkling clean and lovingly kept hotel with friendly, gracious hosts and a various, delicious breakfast is very reasonably priced. It was an unforgettable experience!

I read "unassuming" in a recent review: that triggered my curiosity. And it paid off, this hotel is a little gem ! Literally 2 min walk from central station. You could not ask for a friendlier, more helpful staff. Rooms are spotless clean. And breakfast is top-quality. You will find the whole spectrum, from cereals, to traditional Italian, to more northern European style, all kinds of milk, endless varieties of tea and more. If I should ever come back to Livorno, I won't even bother looking at other places!

I always do research before travelling, this has to be the most overrated place I have ever seen. It felt like we were imposing in a residential apartment block, rather than somewhere to have a vacation. If you're looking just for accommodation - this will suffice. However, we were on holiday and thankfully just here for a few days. The apartment only has cleaning once a week - meaning we had the same towels and sheets for the whole stay! You're expected to empty all your own rubbish and clean, but with no cleaning products provided other than a brush for the floor. Tea, coffee and some shampoo etc was provided - but only enough for 1-2 days! This was never replenished, so why have it there in the first place? The interior of the apartment is perfect - no complaints there! However, the surrounding areas and exterior are in severe need of an upgrade. The pool area was so outdated and the smell of overpowering cleaning products was very off putting. The 'whirlpool' left traces of bleach bubbles on the surface. 'No food and drink' at the pool doesn't scream vacation to me and a silence period between 2pm and 4pm again, feels like you are imposing in a residential area. Wifi was very temperamental and only worked if strategically positioned.

Got in and found out there was, indeed, two separate rooms in my suite. The bedroom and a living room with a sofa bed opened and ready for sleeping (linens plus cushions in place). As I was alone, I closed the sofa bed back to watch some TV series on my laptop. The TV (a tiny one) is in the bedroom and although you can move it, the antenna is only available at that position. The walls are a little worn out and could use a repaint but other than that everything looked fairly new. The bathroom was pristine but I can’t say the same about the bedroom, where I found a few chunks of dust lying around. They don’t serve dinner at the hotel but there’s a McDonalds 100 yards away that it’s open until 1 A.M. so it’s an easy choice. The breakfast was fair. No eggs or sausages but at least bread, cheese and ham in addition to the usual “all sweets” Italian breakfast. The real downer was the Internet. I felt like going back to the dial-up modem era. It took me 10 minutes to navigate the weather forecast and I gave up after that. It’s fair and appropriate for a short stay (1 or 2 nights),specially if you’re going to take the ferry, as it’s only 10 minutes away from the port.

Hotel Rex was absolutely perfect in terms of my criteria: a balcony, a fantastic sea view, a reasonable price and a location easily accessible without a car. Score on all! I wasn't there to swim or dive, but did venture out into the water and it was great. (FYI it's a really pleasant temperature in August for someone who dislikes cold water.) It looked to me like there's a protected area, a kind of sea pool, if you don't want to deal with the waves. If you need access to a chlorinated swimming pool or a typical sand beach with a gentle shore, this may not be the place for you. That being said, there actually is a sand beach that's immediately adjacent, but because it's not connected to the hotel you'll pay whatever the usual entrance fee is to use it. There seem to be many sea-faring activities available including PADI diving and, I believe, SCUBA lessons and pedal boats. The hotel also offers gratis bicycle loans to guests. There's ample parking and people arriving by car shouldn't miss the opportunity to explore the wild beauty of this part of Livorno. Accessibility to Hotel Rex without a car is excellent. I took the train from Florence (c. 2 hrs) and arrived at the hotel after a short (11-min) and very simple walk from the station. Out of curiosity, I tried to investigate the hotel restaurant when I was on my way out for dinner just after 9PM, but it had already stopped serving, Luckily I was planning to eat at the furthest away (c. 7 min walk) of two nearby restaurants and thankfully they serve much later plus have a terrace with a gorgeous view. The included breakfast wasn't up to much, but serviceable. It really didn't appeal to me so I passed on it.and would have gone to one of the nearby bar/cafes, but they're closed on Sunday. I believe it's possible to have a "real" breakfast in the hotel restaurant (not included), but I didn't have time to look into it. My room was fairly basic. It was a little bit rough around the edges in ways that aren't important to me (eg. some of the water jets in the massage part of the multi-function Jacuzzi shower not working, older furniture with a few nicks). The AC system is older and seemed to function well, but I turned it off shortly after arriving. The room had the slightly musty smell that creeps into the walls of older properties that are directly on the water and not hermetically sealed, but imo that's an unavoidable consequence of having exceedingly pleasurable direct access to the marine air and the sound of the sea! I don't know if it was by design or just a function of me being short, but when I was sitting on the balcony, the wall perfectly edited out the bustling beach to create a fabulous sea-only vista. Starting with the view and the balcony, all of the things most important to me were spot-on: the linens were sparkling and fresh, both my room and the public areas of the hotel were very clean, the bed was comfortable (seemed new) and there's a great casual comfort

The elevator in the hotel was really small and could only go in for two people. The front desk service was good. We arranged a large room on the first floor. It was heavy. Honeymoon + Birthday Trip: • Upgraded to Executive Suite (Pleasant surprise , much appreciated 🙏🏻) • Champagne & Fruit Tart/Cake on compliments (Thankful 🙂) • Was informed by Front Office personnel whom guided us to our room that everything from the minibar were complimentary. However, we were charged for consumption instead upon checking out. (2 different staffs for C/I and C/O) Attitude of staff assisting with our C/O could be improved as he ‘explained’ and gave us the same reply that “No, our minibar are never complimentary.” to our doubts. ** I’m a hotelier too and I believed better response could and should be extended for mentioned situation. ** Nonetheless , my husband and I paid for the additional charges without trying to be difficult as our ride to the airport had arrived too then . It was a modern yet stylish property overall with a little unpleasantness experienced towards the end of our stay .

[Location] Super convenient. The airport train is just a five-minute walk from the Central Station. [Service] Check-in at the front desk will take the initiative to call for procedures. [Room] The theme is red and black. The rooms are not large but they are generally the same in Europe. The shower in the bathroom is particularly flush. The air conditioner is very cool. There are hair dryers. The floor-to-ceiling windows are facing the train station. [Characteristics] Breakfast and dinner are included, I feel very rich, there is a drink for breakfast, there is no waiter at dinner to ask if you need it, foreigners order more, white rice for dinner and some dishes are salty, and fruits, mainly worry about the day The unsafe black out of the house happened to be solved in the hotel. [Note] Dinner must go to the lobby bar on the first floor to pick up the roll, indicating whether it is to be eaten at 7:00 or 8:00, and the actual meal at 7:00 is half past six. [Details] The lobby on the first floor does not need to go down the stairs. There are public spaces in the lobby. There is a sofa lounge and a small bar. In the early morning, there are two sofas on the basement floor to sit and wait. [Overall] High cost performance is recommended.

A very poor stay experience, the hotel is in a good location, five minutes walk from Milan Cathedral, but the hotel service is really average, especially the two female executives in the restaurant, went to breakfast three days during the stay, never with us Say hello, expressionless. This is not the case for non-Chinese tourists. Instead, the waiters in the restaurant were more enthusiastic and smiling. On the second day of check-in, we also painted the wall and did not notify the guests in advance, so that the children's clothes became dirty when they walked. The most annoying thing is that the hotel ’s scheduled visit to Da Vinci ’s “Last Supper” costs 50 Euros. Five-year-olds are also charged in full (but in Europe, five-year-olds are basically free) Since the fee was notified by phone, there was no written confirmation, but the fare printed on the tickets we received was 15 Euros, so that we did not know this until check-out. The hotel explained that this is a VIP service and this charge is totally unreasonable.

The only hotel in the world, the first is located in Dubai. The restaurant of this hotel in Milan was a Michelin before, but now I change the chef. The smell of the room bath and shower products is my favorite tobacco taste. The service is really nothing to say. At night I thought the tram downstairs was too noisy at midnight. I upgraded a quiet suite the next day. I discovered that the iPad was out of control and could not turn off the lights. The air conditioner did not work before going to bed at night. There is no kettle in the room, there is no hot water (it is estimated that only the second floor restaurant can pick up hot water) but many drinks in the refrigerator are free. The bed is soft and comfortable and the pillows are not high. After check in, although the front desk beauty will take the room, but the whole process did not help me with luggage, including the steps, people feel that the five-star hotel is not worthy of the title. The so-called gallery hotel, the "painting" of the room is also a print, not a real painting. In short, the price is not high. Tonight, I changed to the Domo Townhouse Hotel next door, which is also a five-star hotel. The service is much better than the Vickers Gallery. My room rate includes breakfast, breakfast is order-based, according to the menu, the chef is ready to serve, which is also the style of a big hotel. The breakfast tastes very good too. From the arched windows of the restaurant you can see the center of the arcade of the Manuele II, seeing tourists and luxury shops coming and going. The hotel door is not facing the inside of the arcade of the Manuelle II, but the small road towards the outside. The door is small and not easy to find, but there is a waiter welcoming at the door. I have stayed at this hotel in many room types, including standard rooms, executive rooms, standard apartments and superior apartments. If you are preparing to cook your own meals, then choosing an apartment is a good choice. The superior apartments are large in size, the horizontal and living rooms are two separate rooms and are very comfortable. If you are traveling alone, the executive room is also very good. The area is large and the living room is large. There is no sense of cramp. In summer, we will open the outdoor swimming pool, sunbathe, and read books in the sun. I always stay at this hotel every time I come to Milan, the price is moderate, about 8 minutes walk from TURRO subway red line, the traffic is relatively convenient. There is a small supermarket PENNY MARKET opposite, which is convenient and cheap. Especially the best thing is that every room type in this hotel has a large balcony, which is rare in Milan and super convenient.
