I, my sister and my mother spent 3 pleasant nights here beginning of November. Casa Balmes is just a few minute walk from Passeig de Gracia and Plaza de Catalunya (where there is also the station for the Aerobus, the express bus for El Prat airport) . We stayed în La Mari room, which is spacious enough for three persons and good looking. The entire Casa is very clean. The services are very good and the manager Carlos does his best for the guests to have a pleasant stay. The breakfast is also worth mentioning, not very many choices, but the food is fresh and high quality. Good coffee! I plan to return to Casa Balmes with my husband, so I totally recommend.

We stayed here after a horrendous night at another place on our first night. We were very impressed with the experience - from our communication with the staff through to the cleanliness and quality of the apartment. The company is now part of Derby Hotels group and they are a very professional outfit. You check in and pick up your keys in a separate office nearby to the apartment - the man on reception was very helpful and welcoming and we could check in earlier than the 2pm advertised. When we arrived at the apartments we were comforted by the security of the place. To enter the external building you need an access code provided when you check in. We stayed on the third floor and our apartment was great - 2 rooms with 2 single beds in each room, kitchen with fridge/freezer and dishwasher, lounge with sofa and TV, dining table, balcony etc. The room has a safe free of charge which eased any security fears we had. The balcony overlooked some rear apartments and gardens. In terms of location, you are in the heart of the university community with many bars and restaurants located close by. We had food in the Indian Street food restaurant nearby which was nice and not far away is a fantastic secret bar called Bobby’s Free. The apartment is walking distance to Plaça de Catalunya and La Rambla but also is close to Universitat and Passeig de Grácia Metro lines with many bus stops nearby too. Overall we had an excellent stay and we would definitely recommend these luxury apartments to trips with groups of friends, family or even those on business trips.

First of all, the location is good. It is basically walkable from Milan House and Casa Batllo. The internet celebrity restaurant that walks for 5 minutes nearby also went to check in. It is indeed worthy of the name. It is recommended to go at 5 pm, there is basically no line up, and the line must be lined up at other times. Free big apples are available at the front desk the next day. The room is ok. The room is cleaned very late every day. Sometimes when I come back from noon to rest and have n’t cleaned, I just ask someone to change the bath towel and I do n’t need to clean it again. The big bed was very comfortable, because the room was facing the street, and the window would be noisy. No kettle, you need to bring your own. Slippers, dental appliances, shampoo and everything. Overall I feel the price is ok, if you go back next time you can consider staying.

My visit was ruined by miscommunication about my arrival time. When I originally booked in March, I noted that the reception closes at midnight, so I began to cancel my reservation, but was contacted by the staff (Sandra) who assured me they would wait for me until 1 a.m., since my flight would arrive at midnight. I provided flight details at that time. My Hostelworld booking showed the 0100 arrival time. Their computer records showed 2200 on their screen. I ended up having to sleep the first night on the hard kitchen floor of the commons area, using a laundry bag for a pillow. If not for severe thunderstorms, I might have left and tried to find another place even at 2 a.m. Although I was able to get into the building by a helpful neighbor, and into the commons area of the hostel because that door was left unlocked, no one was present, and no note was left for me explaining what to do. I called and texted the hostel phone starting at 1 a.m., but got no answer. To be fair, the hostel had tried to send me a couple of emails and even to text the day of my arrival, but the emails got lost along with 500 others in my spam folder while I was on vacation, and the text (ATT service) did not arrive until 2 days later. I had emailed them with a reminder the day before my arrival, but my message somehow also did not get through. The hostel did provide a 20 Euro discount, but no amount of compensation would fix the worry, inconvenience and discomfort of that first night. Good features: a generally good location, about 5 blocks from public transit, with busy car traffic by day, but the street seems a bit abandoned at night. The bathrooms and rooms were spotlessly clean. I did see one roach in the kitchen, but in a humid, hot environment and old building, that is not a big deal. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was sufficient, including a boiled egg, a packaged croissant, cereal, milk, juice, jam and tea. Bad features: no air conditioning, which makes the rooms practically unusable for sleep during the 90 degree weather of August. My pillow became a soggy sponge. Hot water was uneven in the shower. Not much interaction in the commons area, which is small with hard chairs.

Beautiful, playful, social, comfortable: These words all describe our stay. As a general rule, I don't chit-chat much beyond being polite when I travel, but the rooftop bar & pool were great! The staff members were super friendly, the guests were all having fun, and the weather made for a perfect escape from the city's busy streets. Our room decor was not perfect, but the open space and beautiful stained-glass windows made up for it. I love the Barcelona, and I especially love the Axel Hotel.

I booked the Forget me not B&B as a surprise 4 day break for my partners birthday in December and i cannot fault the stay, the staff were so lovely and couldn't do enough for you. The room was clean and tidy, the breakfast was continental and included fresh fruit, cereal and pastries. The location of the B&B is great, its an hour on the metro and a short walk away to the main town and eateries. The only small problem was that the B&B isn't the easiest to find but i had read many reviews on here before visiting so i was fully aware. I cannot thank the staff enough for providing such a great birthday break for my partner and I, we will definitely be returning in a couple of years... highly recommend.

The location is ideal for a day trip to Gaudí. From the airport Aerobus to the terminal station in Catalunya, get off at 900 meters and walk to the hotel. You can check in at 9am! Within 5 minutes of walking, you will arrive at Casa Batllo and walk 10 minutes to the home of Mira. Finished going back to the hotel for a nap. In the afternoon, visit the Park Guell in accordance with the time of the ticket purchase. If you take the 24-way bus, it will be 2.2 Euros. Only the Spanish newspaper station will need to check the bus route of the next Urban Step. Take a taxi for 15 Euros. It takes more than half an hour.

Because I booked the hotel and hoped to see more information I wanted to know in the evaluation, I would like to tell everyone about my experience, I hope it will help. First, the location of the hotel is not far from Passeig de Gràcia, about 10 minutes walk. There is a diagonal subway station nearby, about 7-8 minutes walk, no 12-13 minutes to the Gracia Metro Station, Casa Batllo and La Pedrera are nearby, completely walkable, and then walk for a while To the Plaza Catalunya, Inglis is on the side of the square, the airport bus, the city tour bus are on the square, so the hotel location is good. The second is that the hotel is a star hotel, facilities and services are good, clean and tidy, I feel that my choice is good, it is recommended. Thirdly, the hotel has a breakfast room 50 meters away from the hotel. The bread and coffee are cheap and good. The hotel is 150 meters away and there is a very popular Catalan restaurant. It is long queued every day. It is only three days before we turn. A meal, tastes good, and the price is not expensive.

Uma Suites staff were very helpful, kind and have very good English which started our trip off with a feeling of ease. They allowed us to check in early and gave us advice on how to travel and the best ways of getting places, in our room we were provided with a map and recommendations of where to eat and where the main sightseeing places were. The room is very light and spacious as well as having a very artistic setup. The rooms were very clean and tidy and we had all of the things we needed, our room even had a bottle of white wine included! The open kitchen and front room made it seem like a posh apartment rather than a holiday place. The apartment building was very well kept and safe with a key number needed to get into the building. The only negatives I have are that, the rooms were a bit worn down and in need of some repainting and a few more screws in the bathroom celling as it kept dipping in when the shower had been on. I would recommend asking to have some of the higher floors as the first floor was a bit noisier than the higher floors. Also, due to my lack of research, it wast as central as I had hoped, it was about an hour from the coast when walking and half an hour from shopping central La Rambla. All together, the room was nice and the building was very well kept and safe, the staff were amazing and so so helpful and kind, a very good place to stay when you don’t want to be in the centre of the madness of Barcelona but still want to be close.

Fortunately, I chose this hotel at the beginning, and I was quite satisfied with it, especially the Chinese staff and comfortable beds. Would recommend to friends. Location: It is about 30 minutes by taxi from the airport and the price is about 35 Euros. Going to the airport can ask the front desk for help. There are two supermarkets within 100 meters from the entrance and turning left. The medium-sized (much larger than 7-11) has everything in stock, especially the second one is more complete! Closed on Sundays, the slightly larger one is open until 21:30. Because there are so many thieves in the subway, the whole process is mainly walking and taxiing. The subway station does not know how far away. It is about a 10-minute walk from Casa Mila and Casa Batlló, and nearby (15-minute walk) there are Chinese food and a super delicious shop. Hygiene, facilities: Very clean, two bottles of free mineral water every day, and non-heavy chocolates on the pillow. The bed was comfortable, not hard or soft, and the quilt was particularly comfortable. Hangers, disposable slippers, disposable toiletries, kettle, refrigerator, safe are all available, and there is a mini pool and gym upstairs. Fruits and discount cards were also given on the first day of stay. Service: the best! On the first day, the front desk was assisted by a young Chinese service man who helped bring luggage to the room and sent us a map to introduce the location of the attractions. I can basically meet him in the next few days, greet him warmly, and asked him many questions, I really appreciate it! The service is also highly recommended for this hotel. Some suggestions: The shelf in the bathroom will touch the arm, the air conditioner in the room will respond slowly, and both pieces of the bathrobe will be damaged.

Barri Gotic
Stayed here for three nights in July. We ended up here by accident after our original hotel cancelled, but couldn’t have worked out better. The junior suite is generous by any hotel’s standards and the bathroom is excellent. The hotel is really well located, and we more or less walked everywhere. You can walk to the really nice restaurant district of Born and the beach very easily as well. The staff were really helpful and couldn’t do enough for you, despite the challenging circumstances all hotels find themselves in at the moment. The rooftop bar is the highlight though, with stunning views across the city, great cocktails and and a great soundtrack. Sitting in the pool and then having drinks up there was a highlight of the holiday. We especially enjoyed the rooftop bar’s ‘Instagram corner’ where bored but clearly well trained boyfriends/husbands would take 847 pictures of a partner pouting at various different angles or acrobatic poses. The one woman dance routine on one occasion was a little much though. Maybe we’re just too British. When things return to normal (please!) we will definitely be back. Strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a bit of style and luxury in their holiday. Special shout out to the reception staff who were very patient with my Spanish! It made me feel much more competent than I am.

Villa Olimpica
What an amazing Hotel it should be 5 star! It was a little off putting when we arrived as there was a small homeless camp outside, but there was no bother from any of them, and once inside it was soon forgotten about! On arrival, check in was quick and we were offered a welcome drink, Cava for us and water for my daughter, she also received a H10 teddy and a sweet! The lovely man checking us in (i'm so sorry i forgot your name) noticed it was my 30th Birthday that day and gave us a room upgrade to a suite. The view from this room was unbelievably awesome with a window the full length of the room! The bed was huge and so comfy, the bathroom was well stocked with every toiletry/accessory you'd need and had a jacuzzi bath! The coffee machine in the room was brilliant. We had a cocktail at the bar which was good, and although a bit expensive was the same price as most in the area. One downside was the outdoor rooftop pool wasn't heated which meant although it was open, it was far too cold to use! Lovely seating area up there though which we made use of. A huge thank you to the hotel for the delivery in the evening to our room of Cava, Chocolate Mousse, sweets, cookies and chocolate covered strawberries, The room upgrade was more than enough, and this was so unexpected, what a lovely way to end my birthday! In the morning we were able to watch the sunrise from our bed with a coffee which was very lovely! Breakfast was incredible, nothing was missing, all well stocked and nothing ever ran out! Check Out was super quick and we were able to leave our bags for a few hours before we moved to our next hotel. Biggest downside about our stay was it was only for 1 night, we wished we had booked for longer!

I travelled with my children and we had a superior room with three separate beds. The room was spacious and we had a view of the beach across the road. I have given five stars as the hotel delivers what it sets out to. The staff were very helpful before I travelled, as well as during our stay. I liked that they sent me a survey whilst I was there. We had assumed the air conditioning was not working because we travelled offseason. We were offered an upgrade, which we did not take, however, we did get a fan and this helped a lot.The staff also helped me book tickets online, checked us in early. Customer service was excellent. The restaurants nearby are excellent, for breakfast, lunch, dinner whatever you prefer. There is a shopping centre nearby which a great variety of food, we chose the tapas.

Just checking out of the hotel after a great weekend in Barcelona with my son to watch Barcelona play Getafe. The hotel is in a good location just 10 minute walk from Collblanc Metro station with direct links to the airport and 10 minutes to Nou Camp for the game. The check in staff were great on Friday afternoon, also the cleaners were polite and always said hello. The cafe / bar is best avoided. The staff try to ignore you, on my first visit the two members of staff spent 5 minutes trying to avoid me, the lady on Friday evening even came from behind the bar, straightened the four chairs next to me then walked away. We ate in the hotel on Saturday night, the prices are reasonable but the quality is lacking. Also the food available was disappointing, many items in the short menu were out of stock. When we got the bill I was told that the bottle of tap water we also had wasn’t on the bill but we had to pay an extra €3 for this. Not sure if this went through the till or in the top jar. Last night I bought a 1/2 litre jug of sangria to take to the room, was charged the €5.65 as per the menu but the drink was given in a glass the same size as a standard sangria I had on Saturday night. I questioned this with the bar staff but they were adamant they were right. In the room after I had finished the glass, I filled the glass up with tap water using the 200ml bottle of sprite we also bought. It was no surprise that the 500ml sangria glass only takes 400ml of the liquid. As we checked out, my son went to reception a minute before me to get some €1 coins for a few games of pool before we left. He asked the receptionist, who gave him 4 x 50c coins in return. He said this wasn’t enough but she dismissed him. When I walked down moments later he was upset so I challenged the receptionist. She said she was right but after my insistence she back down and gave us the other €2 back. She said the hotel did. It have any €1 coins. We asked at the bar, but he didn’t have any either. We could have just been unlucky with the water charge, the sangria being short and with my son being short changed at reception, I will never know. I would not return to this hotel to find out. Please book somewhere else.

We spent 4 nights at the hotel in December, although a little way out of the center, the area was fine with many bars, restaurants, bakery/coffee shops. The subway close by, easy to navigate to the airport by train on a direct line and into the city. Sagrada Familia cathedral on same road, 10 minute walk. The staff were very helpful, good command of English and the rooms clean/well serviced but in line with most European city’s, small side. Kettle coffee/milk etc in the room. Superb power shower, in fact the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in. Had breakfast there once, €11 and was fine, the usual continental type, but coffee shops nearby much cheaper if you are just looking for coffee/croissant. I wouldn’t hesitate staying there again and noticed they had an outside area off the breakfast room, and large seating area on the upper floor that anyone can access.
