This hotel should be regarded as a relatively high-grade hotel in Kandy, although there is still a gap with the domestic ratio. Slippers and toothpaste toothbrushes and shower gels are not provided, only a small bottle of shampoo. It is very close to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and it takes 5 minutes to walk, but it is highly recommended that this hotel's free breakfast is too rich! I completely eat it, then I went to Lion Rock over there and didn’t eat at noon. Haha.

This hotel couldn’t of done anymore for us, arriving in kandy soaked through, no hotel booked and no data to book one, we stumbled across this hotel and I’m so glad we did. We explained our situation to one of the front of house team and they were more than accommodating offering us the best rate they could as we’re travelling and on a budget. Nothing was ever to much trouble and there’s always staff around to ask for anything and they are so friendly. The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of kandy city. We stayed in a private room with a bathroom. A.C. worked well, too well in the night when we didn’t have a duvet! Wi-fi was temperamental and the tv didn’t work, but all in all the room was good. Shower was fine and the breakfast was amazing. The host was very helpful, and always happy to help. Location, it is a 20 minute walk to the train station (don’t know why some people on here are saying it is 2 mins, it is 20min walk and 4/5mins by tuktuk). It is very close to the bus stop, which appears to go everywhere in kandy. It is 10/15min walk to the temple of the tooth.

Because it was only a small break in Kandy, it was set up a hotel closer to the train station. When I checked in, I was told that I was registered as a person. Two people had to receive another 12 knives. It felt a bit pitted. I was particularly nervous about the hotel after a long time, because only one person's information was filled. Breakfast is not bad, 5 knives and one person, personal feeling is not cheap.

We stayed 2 nights at The Radh hotel during our tour of Sri Lanka. We had a room on the last floor. The room was clean, spacious enough given the size of the building, with a small balcony, comfy bed and clean, modern bathroom with separately packed toiletries and nicely smelling soap. Loved the tea provided in the room. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, responding to all our requests, including a breakfast package due to our early departure. The stationary breakfast was tasty but we would expect more choice and coffee was not as we are used to in Europe (not so strong). As we didn’t use the restaurant service nor the spa, we cannot give opinion. We chose the hotel based on its location, literally 5min walk from the temple of the Scared Tooth, and next to the Kandy lake, which is a great 4km loop for runners. Beware though of the trees surround the lake, full with birds, that can hit you with an unwanted surprise… The Radh is also close to all other attractions and shops, 5min drive from the train station, and 10 min walk from the Shopping Mall, where you can get good selection of international food on the last floor. Negative: the hotel does not provide accommodation for private drivers, which is a common practice in many hotels. And 6am wake up by ceremonial drums from the nearby temple…

We have been traveling for the last three weeks in Sri Lanka for the holidays. My city hotel was a perfect stay for us to relax after our tuk tuk journey from Nuwara Eliya. We appreciated the recommendations from the owners and letting us borrow sarongs for temple. They even let us keep our tuk tuk there for a few nights while we went to Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura. Due to the railway strike, we had to give up the tickets we had already purchased and changed to rent a car to Kandy. Although the road is hard, there are also many scenery to be swept. The three-day trip to Kandy is not so much a look at the scenery of the temple and the lake. It is better to say that this hotel is even more pleasant. Booking the hotel, because of the unique tapestry pattern in the hall, arrived at the hotel, first attracted by the river in front of you, the blue sky. The hotel has a sweet and cold drink at the store. When you look at the river, you don’t feel that the procedure is slow. Prayer in the mountains, candlelight and singing at night, a beautiful local wedding, beautiful sunset glow, blue waves from the pool outside the cafe, blending with the hotel's gracious dining and attentive service, a movement or a look, the waiter can Understand your mind. The place to stay, the first floor is slightly damp, but there is a garden where you can push the door, people who like plants, you can also browse the hotel's garden, there are many kinds of plants, all are tropical wonders. We changed to the top of the building. I didn't expect a few rains in the house when the rain was heavy. We were very touched when the staff watched the rain. The little episode did not ruin the mood. Watching a piece of golden bamboo outside can be a good memory. Those who love dessert, food and photography will be satisfied.

The first hotel I stayed in Sri Lanka was very close to Lion Rock. Climbing Lion Rock was exposed to the sun and sweating. There was no selling water and food along the way. Remember to bring enough water to climb Lion Rock. This hotel exceeded our expectations, the hotel staff was enthusiastic, the facilities were good, and the mosquito was very good. The breakfast and dinner provided by the hotel is a set menu, not a buffet, but the taste is good. Ceylon black tea is suitable for making milk tea. It is really delicious, and you must drink several glasses every day. If you want to climb Lion Rock, I still recommend this hotel.

The bungalow(s) is located about 15-20 minutes from Kandy railway station (by Tuk-tuk) near the end of a very quiet dead-end road that climbs high above the city. As a result the location is tranquil and cool, an impression that is furthered by the nice open lawn, well placed infinity pool and deck. If you are seeking a retreat from the bustle of Kandy then this is a great place to stay. The main bungalow is a quite nice, fairly simple colonial building, whitewashed with peppermint corrugated roofing. The bungalow itself is very simply laid out with a reception at front and two dining rooms with bedrooms behind. At the time of our visit it appeared that the bedrooms in the bungalow were not being used but these are fairly typical of Sri Lankan colonial accommodation being quite dark but done with nice recent upgrades to the fittings etc. It is nice if you like that sort of thing. In the garden are some slightly surprising but very nice Scandinavian style small pine 'kit-built' bungalows. Very nicely done, obviously fairly recent but unfortunately don't look like they will last too well in the tropics - get there soon! We stayed as two families for one night accommodated in the bungalows in the garden. The staff were very helpful and pleasant - as ever in Sri Lanka. The food is fine, basic and I think fair to say average, not notable but fine. The menu is fairly narrow and may reach its limit fairly quickly if you stay for long. Price has been commented upon and I would say that within the norms of low value for money in Sri Lanka (in comparison with other countries) the bungalow is again about average. It is expensive in global terms for sure, but within SL it is about what you'd expect.

We stayed at the hotel with my family. We deliberately chose a hotel outside the city and were really happy with our choice. The hotel is surrounded by greenery. The views of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking and it is incredibly quiet. The rooms are equipped with everything we needed and instead of a sofa bed our son got a classic bed, which we really appreciated. Each room has a terrace or balcony from where you can enjoy the wonderful views. Breakfast and dinner were good although we would have appreciated a little more spiciness. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you all very much for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Definetly the best overnight stay during our time in Sri Lanka. We only stayed for one night because we diddnt care to spend that much time in Kandy, but we almost considered staying another night just for the hotel. The place was really neat and quiet. The rooms really clean and modern looking. It diddnt even have a single ant! When we first arrived the bed was decorated with cloth orogami roses, which made us feel like we were on our honeymoon. We diddnt even know there was breakfast included, but we figgured we might aswell go since we were getting up early anyway and it was absolutely brilliant. It was served on the roof witch has a lovely view and great atmosphere. Breakfast included your choice of eggs with toast, yam, curry and coffee. The innkeeper was also really friendly and helpfull. 10/10 - would stay again every day of the year! X’es and O’es Norwegian Couple

We stayed here for 2nights recently and from the moment of arrival, where you are warmly greeted and shown to reception, where you you recieve a nice cold fruit juice drink... To the time you leave and wished a safe onwards journey, its just an excellent service throughout your stay.. Rooms are finished in mostly polished concrete and soft furnishings... With an onsuite that is fair in size and all very clean. Food quality is also excellent and variety of dishes for different nationalities who may stay here.. Unfortunately it is located up in Hilly part of the area, and isolated from town... So if you want a hotel that you can walk to town , Unfortunately this is not for you.. Dining on the rooftop terrace of the hotel was very nice, wonderful views and a pleasant outdoor temperature both in the evening and at breakfast time. The pool is down lots of steps and too the side of the hotel... May not be an issue for some people but I always like to put things like this on my posts... The staff are exceptionally kind, helpful and caring... We even saw one senior member of staff guiding a new member of staff with how to do something.. Again this means alot to us, as it shows the management encourage staff too help one another.. We would absolutely stay here again if in the area...

After reading mixed reviews online, we were a bit hesitant to go ahead with this property but went with our intuitions anyway. The property is a 30 minutes drive from Kandy town and does not have any boards or signs of its existence. An unmarked detour leads to this lush property. The property is constructed beautifully in the most eco-friendly way to ensure the trees and nature remains. This airy property faces lake Victoria and has only 3 rooms. We stayed in the superior room, which is tastefully furnished, has a lovely bathroom with tub views of the pool and lake and an open shower that can turn interesting when it rains. They have two amazing staff ever ready to cater to your needs at any time of the day or night. We were so in love with the property that leaving it to go sightseeing was tough. It was home away from home for us. We read reviews of their wine collection not being up to the mark, so brought our own bottle at Colombo Airport (very reasonable). As for the food, it is priced on the higher side and can improve. Our special thanks to Supun & Pushpa for ensuring that we have the most amazing stay. Stay here to enjoy nature, forest sounds, amazing views and some ROMANCE!

I rarely write reviews about hotels and almost never stop at one hotel again. But Majestic is the place where we stayed four times, and I write a third review about it. Thousands of guests change between our trips in the hotel, but every time the hosts know us, they are sincerely pleased, trying to help and make our stay as comfortable as possible. There you really feel like a welcome guest at good friends. Located on foot from the lake. We travelled up from Nuwara Eliya on a train ride through Sri Lanka's and arrived in Kandy for a 2 night stay at this wonderful hotel. We were greeted by Hirantha and attended to by Saman on most occasions. I don't normally name drop on reviews but these two were truly exceptional in addition to the rest of the staff. Its a boutique hotel with few rooms, I think 9, and we stayed in the King suite (upgraded upon arrival) which made the experience of staying here even better, but even without the upgrade the service and attention to detail was truly outstanding. On our tour of Sri Lanka, this hotel truly stands out and our little one had no issues eating the food here as they catered to her needs. From here we toured Kandy and would highly recommend a visit to the Botanical Gardens and Temple of the Tooth. On our last night, we visited the spa for treatment. The treatment was done by Renuka and we highly recommend getting a slot in here when staying at the King's Pavilion, she was exceptional. Definitely, the place to stay in Kandy. Room was clean, cocktails were great and food was outstanding :)

The staff all around the hotel were so friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them and they were all keen to ensure that we had the best time whilst we were there. We stayed one night at The Tourmaline having made the booking on the same day. Tourmaline accommodated our request quickly and arranged for us to check in within an hour - thank you to the reservation department. The Tourmaline is a unique and exclusive hotel with a modern outlook and with scenic views of the Kandyan valley. Having stayed at its sister hotel Topaz a couple of times before, we actually preferred the smallness and exclusivity of Tourmaline to Topaz. The accommodation is very spacious, clean and modern. The bed arrangement of the triple room could have been a bit more appealing with a double bed plus a single bed whereas the triple we booked had three single beds which looked a bit like a dormitory. But the breathtaking scenery outdid the minor dislike. The food served was delicious and had a great variety. The dining area is airy, clean and well attended. One small thing we did not like was that one of the waiting staff prevented us from seating at our preferred table (which had a view), twice saying that it is reserved for someone else who is going to be there later. This I found a bit unfair as I believe all guests deserve to be treated equally on first come first serve basis for partaking their meals at the buffet. Finally, a special thanks to the manager at Tourmaline who went above and beyond to arrange a delicious packed lunch on our way home. Overall, I highly recommend The Tourmaline for families for a nice getaway away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Right from the moment we entered, we were welcomed with smiles and warm greetings. The team went above and beyond to meet every single requests (for eg. pool-facing view room - it was perfect!) and had the warmest hospitality towards us. They constantly checked in on any feedbacks or complaints re the room to ensure that we were well-comfortable and happy with our stay. During dinner, they served us extra mangoes and included other fruits for us - which was incredibly sweet, both the fruits and them. And thank you too for the kind invitation to join in on their festival celebrations.
